Taste of Spice in Taunton Deane

We ordered a takeaway meal for four. Overall the feed was pretty good, very generous portion sizes and a good variety of vegetarian options too. Would use again if we stay in the local area again.

We had an Indian delivered to a local house we had rented for 21 people on Saturday night, the food was of excellent quality and was enjoyed by all. A couple of missing side dishes but these were sorted out with a with the prompt refund. Third time we have used the Indian when staying as a large group locally and would use again.

To be fair we live in Wivey. Having come from an area renowned for Indian curries, we found that microwave meals from the supermarkets were better than the meals here. Way way too sweet in most dishes, korma tastes like a couple bags of sugar went in the pot! We have tried alot of dishes from here hoping to find one that doesn’t give you toothache, not found one yet. Really do need to improve on authentic taste. Prawn crackers and mint dip nice though

Not an inviting restaurant. Cold. Hard tiled floor. Lucky I was only picking up. Owner is very miserable and has no customer skills. Will not honour discount for takeaway stated on menu. Absolutely needs to improve to become a welcoming local restaurant. Don’t think things will change with current owner. Unfortunately this is the only Indian takeaway in Wiveliscombe. Very poor experience overall.

Whenever I’m visiting family in Wiveliscombe, I always try to find time to eat at this fantastic restaurant. Me and my partner had an amazing curry here on a Saturday night recently, it was so good that I came back the following day for dinner. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. The menu has all the expected classics as well as some unique chef’s specials. Most importantly, they do my favourite accompaniment, pilau rice with peas. Highly recommended.

Extremely nice take away delivered to us in Watterow for the last day of our holiday. Would recommend this restaurant for a take away.

Me and my partner ordered from here and the food was absolutely terrible. My chicken balti tasted like chip shop curry, my partners chicken Bhuna was very bland. Naan bread burnt, rice cold and undercooked as were the chips. I would not advise anyone to order from here. Probably the worst curry I’ve ever eaten in my life.

We haven’t had a takeaway from here for ages, probably after last lockdown. But we had one last night and it was lovely- best onion bhajis we’ve had (outside of India!). Other side dishes were great too. The vegetarian dishes were excellent- using different veg and spices to make them special, chicken tikka and makhani were delicious and the begum bahar was tingly hot! Very generous servings so enough for a cheeky snack later! We will return....probably before this lockdown ends! Thanks

had a takeaway from this place on Saturday 15th june 2019....to say it was really bad is an under statement....my husband ..daughter and son-in-law were all ill on sunday and my granddaughter had an allergic reaction ?to the colorants used in the food...I was ok because I didn't eat mine due to the fact the chicken was so dry I couldn't swallow it...complete waste of money....we all live in wivey and will not be using this place again...my husband and daughter both said at the time "it tastes as if they have put a bag of sugar in this curry it was so sweet"DISGUSTING

Fairly regular take away visitor to this restaurant. Last night decided to eat in! Never disappointed. Tasty, fresh and tender! Guys working there are great too! Highly recommended. (There were rumours locally that it was under new management - it isn't)

At last I have found a really good curry house in the south west. My wife and I were staying in Wiveliscombe for the weekend and decided, reluctantly, to try the local curry house. We come from just south of Birmingham so we know what a good curry is and to date we only been disappointed when down south. We looked at this place and thought it was not really all that inviting but once inside we revived a warm welcome and were promptly seated. Having looked at the menu I decided to have the Tandoori Chicken to start followed by the King Prawn Madras whilst my wife chose the Meat Samosa and the Chicken dopiaza. All of the food was excellent and plentiful l would definitely recommend it and would certainly go back there if I am in or even close to the area again.

Champion take away for a Sunday night, mother's Day curry which was fantastic we had Garlic Chilli Chicken and Chicken Tikka Vindaloo and must say we're superb.

Called to check if they have vegan options, the man I spoke with was very knowledgeable and informed what we could and couldn't eat. The food was delicious, really tasty, huge portions. We will be back :)

Tuvimos un problema con el vino (no es culpa del restaurante) pero el personal no podía hacer lo suficiente para ayudar. Hacen un ofrecen comida tipo buffet que hacen que la comida aún más razonable. Altamente recomendado! ! !

Tuvimos una comida muy agradable aquí. El chico que lleva el sitio era muy acogedor y servicial, nos hizo algunas recomendaciones cuando le preguntamos acerca de algunos de los platos en el menú. Él también dijo que él podría hacer cualquiera de los platos que nos decantamos por un poco más caliente si queríamos algo más de calor. No sólo estaba sirviendo frente pero también estaba haciendo algunos de los utensilios. La comida era muy buena! Nos dio la impresión de que la mayoría de sus negocios proviene de comida para llevar, y el restaurante no es especialmente grande. Nos pareció que la decoración era un poco aburrido, pero eso no afectó a nuestro disfrute de la comida.

I live in Surrey and sadly we struggle to find CONSISTENTLY good quality Indian food! This restaurant is excellent! the food is always TOP quality! Staff are great and prices reasonable! I always try and make a visit when I'm nearby.

Nos perdimos nuestra comodidades de un agradable local India que estamos abrumados con en Portsmouth.Nos encontramos con el sabor de las especias. . . . Teníamos una preciosa para llevar. El personal era acogedor y amable y la comida era deliciosa.Es una pena que más gente en el pueblo no vayas allí y apoyar su local india. We ordered a take away from here, having just moved the area we were very pleased to hear there was an Indian close by. We were not disappointed, very tasty food! Great naan bread! Nice and hot, good quality meat. Our curry's were quite sweet (which we like) however may not suit everyone, but there is a large menu available. Nice friendly staff, we will be returning soon!

The food is of good quality. Staff very friendly and welcoming. When we make a big order they always throw a beer in for free plus poppadoms. The restaurant is what you expect and is clean with a good atmosphere.

Trasladarse a la zona desde hace un año, hemos tenido llevar de este restaurante como media docena de veces, pero no habían tenido ya que el restaurante había cambiado de manos.

Well worth a visit. Had a Vindaloo first one for about 20 years very good.Hot and sour. My wife had the Lamb Bade Sabha and ourfriend a Lamb Biriani. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

Strange little place off the beaten track. Madras curry was fine, but what happened to the mushrooms in my mushroom fried rice. Not as good as local alternatives but O K for a takeaway.

This lovely little place is well worth visiting. My fiancé and I have had several meals inside and numerous takeaways and the food is always delicious. The spices in the food all blend together for a wonderful taste and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. You won't be disappointed!

This very small restaurant in Wiveliscombe is excellent. Having lived in Bangladesh for 7 years I know a good curry when I have one. My family and I visit this quite often as we live close by. Monday nights is Buffet night. For £9.95 one can eat as much as you like. The onion Bhajis are the best ever same as the other 5 dishes available for the buffet, naan bred is very good. Service is always done with a smile. I feel so lucky to have such a gem available in our very small town.

A chicken tandori , nan bread , yellow rice ,with a vindaloo sauce as i last time for 10 years had it in London in the ""Indian Palaces ""

Excellent food great in taste and presentation .staff really friendly and helpful .even better price was half what we normally pay at our local and so much more food . So wish we lived closer to come back again

I have been eating Indian for for many years, and living in Surrey have a lot of choice.However I visit Wiveliscombe often and the food from this little restaurant is ALWAYS extremely tasty and fresh.We enjoyed a takeaway last night which quite possibly was the nicest Indian food I have ever had!It also has friendly staff and is reasonable value.Highly recommended.

We had a take away which was delicious! Very good price for a substantial amount of food! Nothing was left however as it was so good!
