Tiffins in Taunton Deane

We’ve been here multiple times over the last few years and it’s always been incredible quality. We booked a table at the weekend and received confirmation from Tiffins. All the signs outside say “Tiffins Indian all you can eat restaurant” the website and Facebook say the same. So we were a bit surprised when we went in to find that they were changing name and owner (although it still looked like the same staff) there was no longer a buffet, there was no all you can eat option etc. While the food that we got was absolutely beautiful in flavour, the portions were relatively small (five pieces of chicken in a bowl of sauce) meaning that we couldn’t even share the different dishes around much. It’s a wonderful curry house but unfortunately no longer worth the hours journey for us.

We called in on spec having been yurn away from Toby Inn at 8.45 - after being left standing for 15 minutes - great service not.We found Tifins by accident and glad we did. There were only 4 other people in the restaurant so I was surprised they had not closed for the night.Very friendly staff,the food was very good ( the waiter talked us through the menu) and the price was very very reasonable.Cannot comment on the buffet side of the business as that was not operating due to Covid.Overall a lovely evening.

Visited with my husband and mother and father in law quality of food very poor like an Iceland frozen microwave curry. Staff all stood around on there mobile phones and talking about what they did the night before. Drinks very expensive. We would not visit again I’d rather get a boxed take out from the supermarket.

We pre-booked, and were the only eat in customers! Which was a shame. We were given complimentary poppadoms, which was a nice gesture. Our mains were generous portions, well cooked and very tasty, the mushroom bhagi is worth a try The only minor negative was the onion bhajis were a bit over cooked. A very good Indian meal, very enjoyable and we will be back when next in Taunton.We would recommend the chicken tikka masala and the dopiaza.

We had 2 mains & 2 sides with Nan & pops & rice. All food was very tasty and beautifully cooked, delivered on time with a smile. Impressed! Will be back, thanks.

Stopped here spontaneously after being let down badly by another restaurant. We were welcomed and treated brilliantly. The food was freshly cooked and really tasty. The staff were sweet and very polite and friendly. We had a lovely relaxed meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would highly recommend Tiffins, and will definitely visit again.

All the meat was Dry!! Nan bread been there all day!! Most dishes tasted the same and the deserts are thin frozen cake slices and ice cream. First and last visit Only positive is the building is lovely inside.

All round lovely. Have been both at lunch time and early evening. We did ring up and book.Staff were very knowledgable and attentive. Lots to choose from. All my favourites from starters to mains. Price as expected for a nice meal out.

Went here after visiting the nearby cinema. It had only just opened so it was quiet. Food was very good mixture of Indian and Chinese.Personally I would have liked more vegetable dishes. Very good value though and pleasant staff. Would definitely return.

We eat here a couple of times a month and usually very good We've had the buffet many times ( we always eat early by preference as we dont like to eat late, having got into american eating scheduled while we lived over there (Americans tend to eat early) We also eat from the al a carte menue which is excellent. They will also cook items not on the menu if you ask, Service is good Staff are very pleasant Good value for money.

This place was a nice surorise to us. We were there celebrating a friend’s birthday and the food was wonderful, attentive staff and a great value for money. We will be back for more!

Our party had a fantastic time here tonight. The food was fresh and tasty and we were given a very warm welcome. Thank you to the new chef, Ali for providing us with platefuls of deliciousness! We'll be back very soon.

Well we booked and were assured prices were the same as usual on New Years ever when we arrived there was a hand written note on the door saying it was £25 a head after having to demonstrate my frustration of traveling 35.miles they gave discount that knocked it down to £19.50 and said we could have a drink , to be honest the food and variety was hardly worth the £15 it should have cost but at least it was fresh saying that we will certainly not be going there again oh and no free drink , ruined news years eve and waste of time booking in advance

Price at weekends is a lot more than during the week so visit mom-thurs if you can. I think it is good value through the week but expensive at weekends. That said, it’s a really good opportunity to try dishes you wouldn’t normally. Desserts really let it down though, ice cream was very icy and other bits are just cheap cake slices and chopped up fruit.

The restaurant is nice and the service is very good but I found the food to be average at best. I found the chicken in all the dishes I tried to be dry and found them bland. Having said that, the rest of my family really enjoyed their food. Each to their own!

Long term visitor to Tiffins, great place for taking your family or friends, partner or even to go on your own for a quick lunch or evening meal.

The best Indian food ever tasted in England. The perfume of spices welcomes you at the door and the choice of quality dishes (even on the buffet!) is amazing. Fresh ingedients, everything I tried was excellent. Ample parking, losts of space to book a family get together. Friendly staff and Indian music softly in the background, makes you feel you as if you are taking a holiday in India. Definitely recommend and will be back very soon.

We ate on Sunday evening. I dined with friends and our children. My children are 10,11 and 13. The food was average. The real shock was that they classed all the children as adult prices! The 13 year old I can accept but to charge 10 and 11 as an adult was outrageous. I have never eaten anywhere where they are classed as adults. If felt like we were being exploited as we were the only people in the restaurant.

AVOID ! Had I used the toilet before eating I would not have eaten there. This was the state of the ladies toilet. This bowl doesn’t look like it’s seen a scrub in months. Upon complaining I was told they couldn’t help what someone has left in there before I used it. There wasn’t anything left in there it was pure filth from not being cleaned over a long period of time. And the food....well I think the toilet says it all.

All you can eat curry and deserts for £15 on a Saturday night. What’s not to like. Good choices for all our family that includes two vegetarians All went away stuffed, happy with the quality. Good service from the staff too

Very good value for money nice choice and tasty food, polite and helpful staff only negative it was far too hot in the restaurant which made it rather uncomfortable only after several requests from other diners did the air con get put on.

We visited on Saturday evening before going to the cinema next door.

5* can’t recommend highly enough ! Great choice of dishes, everything you’d want and more. Friendly staff. If I lived in the Taunton area I’d eat here every week! The best buffet Indian I’ve ever been to !

Went there at 1.30pm Monday afternoon , food what food, there was a lot of empty trays, what was left you had to scrap the tray as it was all most empty, food was cold cold, salad cart only had tomato’s in, when it was mention to staff they wasn’t interested, there costumer service was very poor,

All staff are pleasant and provide fantastic service, food quality and the amount of dishes available makes the cost justifies.

Unfortunately I bought in to the reviews but this place was terrible, I came very close to rating as terrible.

Superb food and service nice clean surroundings and staff very friendly we will definitely be back in the near future(can't wait).

My wife and I have been meaning to try tiffins for a while but never got around to it. We have been missing a real treat. We were greeted by a lovely cheerful waitress who showed us to our table, & then told us about the food. Our drink arrived very quickly. The food was of a large selection, and absolutely lovely. There is something for everyone. My wife does not like hot Indian food but she thoroughly enjoyed hers as there was some lovely mild dishes. We will definitely be back, sooner rather than later. Well done.

Visited Tiffins today. Well what can I say. Disappointing. I’m sure it was much better then this when I last visited. Maybe it’s a change of ownership? However we won’t be going back or recommending this place to anyone.

We went in a party of 6 for another meal at Tiffins. The food is hot plentyful and very tasty. The staff go over and above to ensure you have a great meal experience. They are very helpful and always willing to help; I asked for the hottest curry and was given a chef's special, they even joked to say it would be too hot for me.......wrong but very close. Good prices great atmosphere. Would recomend although on the outskirts of town.

We went to Tiffins last night after a long drive we were a little apprehensive as it was early on a Monday evening as only been in the day before We had no need to worry Huge choice of dishes on offer and very tasty food. Good service by the indian waiter, I don't understand the previous reviews we have gone several times now and never had an issue with service or food oh and great value for money

Booking was easy as the night we needed was Champions league final night. The restaurant was very quiet and very hot. Doors wide open but chose not to have the air con on.

I went here with a few friends for a leaving do, the service was slow and considering it was empty this was a surprise, then after finally getting our drinks we went to get food, all I can say is quantity was offered over quality. Then after waiting for an hour we had to ask to about get another round of drinks as they had completely forgotten us.

We took a walk over to tiffins this evening as it’s only 10 mins away and have never been. There was a wide variety selection of food which were pleasantly surprised by as it was a Tuesday night. All the food was very tasty and plenty of it. They had a selection of Indian dishes as well Chinese courses which was good as well as deserts and ice cream. The waitress was very nice and kind and looked after us. We recommend and will be sure to visit again. Thanks

Fab selection of food. The most impressive thing was the fact that ALL of the food was beautiful. The naan, poppadoms, rice, meat dishes and puddings were all delicious! We will be back ❤️

Clean and welcoming restaurant, staff were friendly but the star of the show was the food. The food was hot and presented well. The flavours of the curry dishes were beautiful and very individual. The meat content was very well cooked and lamb was stunning. Great place look forward to my next visit.

Had lunch here today (22/01/19 at about 12.15) and we were not disappointed. Lovely food, flavours and staff. This was our 6th or 7th visit since it has been Tiffins and i have to say the flavours just get better. My Dad was happy and had 2 plates of mains and even a dessert! At 85 he is not usually a big eater so he must of really enjoyed it. We will be back soon!

Ate here recently before a trip to the cinema as it’s so close, we were so pleasantly surprised! The food was fantastic, all really fresh, loads of choice, helpful staff and incredible value. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Some previous experience of set-priced buffet restaurants elsewhere have not been all positive but happily this one is certainly an exception! Two recent visits, once during the week and the other during the weekend, found the food fresh, flavoursome and varied. Good value for money, friendly and helpful staff. Good location if you are visiting Taunton or travelling south or north on the M5. Recommended.

My experience at this establishment wasn’t the best, although the food was lovely and most of the staff were polite what appeared to be the owner was sat on his phone for the whole duration of my meal and didn’t help any of the other staff. I found this disrespectful and unprofessional however all of the other staff were professional especially one who seemed to be in charge of the food was very informative and helpful when I was enquiring about my allergies.

This is an Indian all you can eat buffet style resturant.We were shown to our table and the waitress took our drink order and then bought us over a plate of popadoms. There was an excellent choice of pickles etc and the curries were really good. The lamb was so tender better than I have had in an expensive restaurant. Really friendly staff. Worth a visit. I'm intending to go back for an evening to see the different choice.

I went there for my birthday it was so amazing they treated me so special stuff was on point and the the food was very interesting very nice a lot to choose from the stuff were excellent very nice and funny people

Today I came in with my friend it was really nice chilled vibe the nothing was ever to much for the staff the cocktails are to die for, the is lost of yummy dish’s to try,there’s something for everyone ,even if you don’t like curry .The chefs can make up pizza, chicken nuggets or fish fingers highly recommend.

Very rude staff. Went in just before 4:30pm as had a film in the cinema booked at 6pm, the website states you pay for the time you leave the restaurant and that it’s constantly open until 8pm. When we arrived we were told they were taking food away and it wouldn’t be replaced until dinner time (5:30pm). So if you go at 4:30pm thinking you’ll pay the lower price as the website states, think again, you’ll have to wait until after 5:30pm, bit of a con really. Had to ask the staff member 4 times to clarify when the food was coming out, she then shut the door on me. Stated that there isn’t a website and I said that there was and the opening times are on it, at that point she shut the door. Never returning, rude staff, con artist way of making money.

went in about half 9 in the evening, food was cold, dry and naan bread was awful it was like eating a rock, i barely tried any of the food there because half of it looked like it had sat out all day! only thing id recommend is the cocktails.

Was hoping this was worth while however it was pretty average really. As a vegetarian was also limited. I'm afraid I wouldn't really go back. Better Indian Buffett elsewhere ..

Cold plates, very poor quality Indian food, shocking deserts that where not in the least bit Indian. Drab decor with zero atmosphere. Disappointing and expensive. First visit and definately last. Avoid!

Went lunchtime for buffet took my wife and daughter had great selection of food followed by a sweet will be returning

Had an amazing meal tonight! The staff were so helpful. There are staff on hand to recommend what food to try for different tastes. The cocktails were pretty fab too ! Great place for a works do in the future!

Although the food wasn't ready when we sat down, the service was good and the restaurant very clean.

Went this evening and our waitress was really friendly and greeted us at the door.

Went here to celebrate a birthday 🎂 6 of us, all good food as usual and very helpful staff. We enjoy it here we will return.

2 out of 3 ladies toilets were disgusting, the 3rd toilet door didn’t lock.

Enjoyed the range of food, staff were great and very attentive. The kids enjoyed it too and the manager was very helpful in pointing out dishes that they would enjoy. My wife had a dish made to order while I tried as much as I could from the range of curries. Would definitely come back if passing this way again.

On arrival a very pleasant waitress opened the door and showed us to a table. She then brought over fresh papadums taking our drinks order.

Went for the first time and very disappointed. I would not recommend or return. Average selection of dishes, however many ran out and were very slow to be replaced and when they were they were replaced in very small amounts. Food was generally dry and over cooked. Basics like no mango chutney as they stated had run out. The small bowls out fur use for dips were full of waste water from dishwasher. The nan breads were cut into baby slices and ran out. No poppadums to help yourself to. Over priced for very poor product and disorganised restaurant. Would not recommend. My children wanted to come after myself and wife told them we were going. We will not be returning.

We were visiting family in the area and came to eat here because they had come several times before. I van honestly say it was one of the best Indian style meals i have had. There was plenty of choice for all courses, the food was amazing and obviously all made on the premises. The restaurant was light and airy and very clean and the staff great. This is now on our list of must visit places when we come to the area.

With a friend went looking for a place to dine, unsure of anywhere in particular. Fancying a curry we parked up and went in to have a look at the menu. The restaurant was light and airy with plenty of dining space, first impressions were fair.

Visiting family and decided to treat them to a meal out. We arrived as they were putting out their evening selection so there was very little choice. My 8 year old daughter could only really have chips and even then there wasn't any of them available. Most of the chicken in the meals was over cooked and dry. It says something when the best thing came out of a tub of icecream. They did apologise for there being nothing available for the little one however this was only when we complained, they said they could prepare her something else.They did refund her the price of her meal but it was to little to late!

We decided to try this recently opened restaurant.... Wow, so pleased we did The food was really good there was a wide variety of different starters and main courses catering for all tastes even those not keen on Indian food. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked, you can order food if not available on the hot plates.

This was my first time eating at Tiffins All You Can Eat Indian Buffet, and I am a novice at Indian food. When I told the staff this they were extremely helpful, and offered to show me round the different foods available. I do not eat halal meat which I understand Tiffins is, but there were still loads of choices of vegetarian and fish dishes, as well as sweets. Staff were very attentive. I would have liked to have been able to just have a jug of cold water with my food, but water was charged on the menu, other than this a very enjoyable meal out. My meal was at a reduced rate as a pensioner.

Place has been refurbished from the old Chinese it used to be .Looks good and modern Wide range of starters and main courses Limited if you are a veggie Apparently you can order off the menu but I didn't know that Food is bland but plentiful Deserts we're poor Pretty quiet when I went back at imagine it can get busy later in the day Good service

Went with a large group of mates and we were accommodated excellently. The food is not badly priced and ideal if you’re needing a big meal.

Myself and my partner visited the restaurant about a month ago although the food was nice there was a particular female member of staff who was rude and flaunting herself although in uniform a long cut top hanging over the bar as it was myself and my partner in the restaurant at the time we felt very uncomfortable with the way she was the other members of staff that where on very good at clearing our plates when finished with them and very welcoming as a buffet I except they will have food around in the buffet but thought it would be good of the staff to clear around the edges when it starts to look messy and please don’t shake the cocktails up they look hideous much rather the marble look to them.

I heard so many good things about this place so i thought I would try it myself. When we first arrived we did wonder why there wasn't many people there. Maybe due to it being a week evening. Anyway the food was fab, lots of choice and very tasty. Popadoms were served at your table then you go to the counters for the rest. Starters, main and desert and all you can eat for a reasonable price. Staff were very present and accommodating. Crockery being taken more or less soon after you had placed your plates to one side.

Visited here as two couples. Didn't know it was Elvis night. Music was far too loud for such a small restaurant. We were unable to speak to each other, except when Elvis took a break. Elvis was very good - but not suitable in such a small place. Staff were very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. Food was average- as you get what you pay for at an all you can eat buffet.

The satff were attentive, but sad to say the food lets Tiffin down. Have eaten at many indian restaurants aome excellent, some not so good. This ranks near the bottom for taste. The food was bland and the sauces were thin and watery. If you are eating cheaply and want bulk rather than quality then this is the place for you. If however you want authenticity and taste, then avoid.

We arrived an hour after they opened. Waited 15 minutes for our drinks. Went up to get food and all the hot food was cold. They replaced it with hot but it was tasteless. Won't be going there again.

Went here on a works night out, and we went to the Elvis night which was great fun with a good atmosphere. There was a good selection of food, from sides to mains and choice of rice. The puddings were not amazing but ice creams and profiteroles, which did the job. Good value for money, and a fun night out, we will be going again.

We took two friends who had not been to Tiffins before and they could not believe what good value for money it was. As we walked in we were greeted with the door being opened by us, was asked if it was a special occasion and taken to a lovely table. The wine was excellent value, Oyster Bay, and plenty of good, fresh food. Highly recommend a visit.

Visited Tiffins yesterday evening for "date night" with the Mr.....Never been there before and eager to sample the food.

Popped in to Tiffins to sample the evening menu having been a couple of lunch times. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Excellent choice of dishes. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

On arrival staff were so welcoming, explained I’m vegetarian said no problem can cook what ever you would like chose vegetable korma freshly cooked was the best I have had starters plenty of choice and coconut desert wow

I really enjoyed riffing. Staff were fantastic. We went with friends on a busy Saturday night. Plenty of choice for us. Found the curry sauce a little runny for me but still tasted great. Will definitely come again.

We went as a family treat and was impressed with the reception, it was a friend's birthday and they made a big fuss.

We went to big group for our work party everyone’s really enjoyed .tiffins is my favourite restaurant. Staff always friendly they added lots new items. Food is stunning definitely going back again..

I am not overly keen on buffets but this was conveniently next to the Odeon cinema. Very friendly staff.

After wanting to eat here since last year we finally made out to the lunch time sitting on Sunday the 25th February 2018. There were 4 chicken, 2 lamb and some vegetable dishes, saag aloo, mushroom aloo for examples. The chicken was dry, the sauces watery and flavourless, they could have been from a supermarket savers jar!!

Had an absolutely fun fealing time, great service and good selection drinks, even non acholic ones. Food was lush and lots to chose from.

My 12 year old son chose Tiffins for his birthday supper and loved it. Good value for money and reasonable selection of the usual Indian foods Food on buffet was fresh and replenished regularly Drinks also reasonably priced.

Our first visit since opening, very very impressed. Kind and polite staff made us welcome and accommodated our party as we had a wheelchair with us. Our drink order was taken and they explained how the buffet worked. A little while later they came and asked if we were happy with every thing, we replied yes thank you. Several trips to the very well stocked and very tasty buffet later it was round two of drinks and then deserts. Time flew by and we were all full, this will not be the last trip here by far. A very good 10/10 keep it up.

The restaurant was very quiet. Staff were friendly and very attentive. One of our party was vegetarian and one of the staff said if the veggie options weren’t enough they could offer more choice and bring it to the table. There was a choice of hot or cold plates. The choice of foods was good with intensity of spicy ness adequately labelled.to suit all palates. Poppadoms were well cooked and not oily. Lamb dish was particularly tender. I’m not keen on the way deserts are on open shelves already portioned. Not sure how flies will be kept off in the hot weather. We didn’t feel pressured to leave when we had finished eating.

The restaurant is clean and the food is fresh and tasty. Good selection for vegetarians (you can ask and they will bring out further choices). Lots of yummy puddings too and friendly service. Cheap kids buffet.

First time for us a couple of weeks ago. Made to feel welcome on arrival and no sense of being rushed at all. Staff were all very friendly . Food was very good and plentiful with a great selection . Just booked our 2nd visit. Generally speaking I find Indian take away and restaurants expensive so this is good value for money and a great way to try new dishes without wasting money when you find you don't like something.

Tried the smaller lunch selection, which was commensurate with the lower price. The quality matches the price, it is not top end Indian food, it is however tasty and varied. It is in the same bracket as any other cheap all day eating pub or fast food outlet.If you fancy a change from Harvester, and Toby Inn type establishments it is spot on. The lunchtime price undercuts most other outlets and the evening food variety and quality matches the higher price. Five different vegetarian dishes and helpful staff who offered to cook more to order if required.

Booked table for 6 for 7pm as this was our 2nd visit. Restaurant was extreamly busy so we were lucky to be on the quiet side of restaurant. Drinks orders were taken and then the self serve all you can eat buffet. Food was hot and various dishes for all tastes catered for. Then if you have room left there are desserts! Lots of them plus ice cream. A great experience aided by our waiter who was very pleasant. 10/10 and will be going back. Thank you!

The food was pretty much as expected but fairly limited compared to some i have been to.Certainly not a patch on a good curry house but ok if you want to fill up with something hot.Main draw back was the service which considering you serve yourself tellyou something.Ask when we arrived for a glass of water for some meds ! yes no worries i will do that now we were told.Twenty minutes later we asked again ok i will get that now ! We gave up then as clearly they were to busy having their own lunch to worry about customers.Polite staff but being shown to a table would be nice not sit over there.Value was ok in the day but not sure i would pay the evening rates for the quality we were ofered.
