Every Friday & Saturday night without fail I get my curry here. Iāve eaten many Indians, but this one is like no other. Sultan regularly recommends new dishes for me and they never miss. He says try this, I try it. He says you should order this, I say letās do it. If Sultan said jump off a cliff, Iād do it without hesitation. If I was on death row and they asked me what I want for my last meal Iād tell them to get me a sagwala and mushroom rice from Saagar. Thank you for making my life complete with your wonderful food

I was really looking forward to returning to the Spice Gallery in North Petherton after quite a few years away ā I had fond memories of a dish called something like Eye of the Dragon (pineapple was involved!), but sadly itās no longer on the menu. That said, the menu still offers a great variety, with plenty of dishes you donāt usually see on a typical British curry menu ā though thereās a āclassicsā section too for your kormas and such. We were a group of five and ordered a range of dishes to share. I had the lamb shank and it was absolutely melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Others had the biriyani, and we all dipped into sides including tarka daal, keema rice, naan and chapati ā every bite was packed with flavour. So the food? No complaints at all. Service-wise, it was a bit more hit and miss. Our welcome was lukewarm, which was a shame, and although service was quick and courteous during the meal, we definitely felt a bit hurried once weād finished. There was a bit of hovering and eye-catching from the guy behind the counter, like he was willing us to go ā not exactly the warmest end to the evening. Itās not cheap ā about Ā£40 per head for us, with three bottles of wine between four drinkers ā and thereās a 12% service charge automatically added. That felt a little optimistic given the level of service, but the food really did help to redeem things. All in all, a solid four stars for the food alone ā itās just a shame the experience wasnāt quite as warm as the flavours on our plates.

Wow, what can I say other than amazing!! From the food, to the atmosphere to the staff, the whole experience was 10/10. Firstly they was so accommodating as one of the members of our party had allergies and they ensured she was catered for. The food is like nothing I've had before, I personally had the lamb chops and wow there big and so tasty. Staff were polite and welcoming from the moment we got there and nothing was too much for them. If we are to visit cheddar again we will definitely be coming back here again to try more items on the menu.

First class from start to finish. Phoned to ask about Vegan options, they were very helpful and I had a good choice. Food arrived 10 minutes early, all piping hot, including the papadum. The food was absolutely beautiful, the flavours were amazing, best Indian food I have ever had. Had the Vegetable Rogon main dish and Mushroom bhaji and Aloo Gobi as sides, along with the chapati, onion salad, papadum and vegetable Samosa for starter. Very generous portions too, I enjoyed some the next day.

Worst curry I've ever had, had the tandori mixed grill, it was dry and bland, had a bhuna sauce which was bland. My partner had the masssla cocktail, no spice and bland! Waiter was rude, just slammed down cutlery! when clearing plates from a table next to us, put the plate trolly right in front of us, we were blocked in and he just kept slamming plates, cutlery, dishes, it was noisy and we had to ask him to please stop ! Awful š

Itās getting worse and worse here. Poor sauces, tough meat and even the side dishes are tasteless. The chef canāt cook the food that used to be there like Mahboob can. I feel Mahboob has opened too many restaurants and the chef he puts in place isnāt up to the job. It will get quieter and quieter if this continues. Come back Mahboob and save your restaurant!
