Food was great price was good have no complaints at all everything tasted fresh and the butter chicken was a good choice garlic masala was a bit hotter than I expected but still nice

We come back to Zalshah every year we visit Burnham on sea. Our favourite Indian restaurant! Staff are always friendly and helpful. It’s always clean. The food is outstanding! Great value for money! Décor is beautiful! Never feel like you’re being rushed. Highly recommend ! Never had a takeaway from here so can’t comment on that.

First time eating here,glad we did.It was a Friday evening so busy,every table booked,so was noisy.It took a while for the food to come out but well worth the wait the food was really good & plenty of it.Not expensive either until you add on drinks.Will definitely be going here more often,highly recommended.

Third time visiting this restaurant and now it's our favourite place to go when visiting Burnham. Excellent food and service. Didn't need to book a table and didn't feel rushed when there. Highly recommend the set meal for two, more than enough food for two people.

What a find! Fabulous food and a great ambiance. Starters were prawn butterfly and a battered garlic prawn (not had that before) both excellent. Mains lamb dopiaza, pilau rice, chicken tikka biryiani and brinjal bhaji with a keema naan. It is rare we go to an Indian restaurant and eat everything in sight. We did this time and feel absolutely stuffed! It was Fabulous 👌

Wow…this is a proper curry establishment! Proper strength curries, everything super tasty, manage dietary requirements really well…way better than certain other curry restaurants in Burnham. Highly recommend!

Dined recently to be welcomed by a lovely female host....whilst being friendly she didn't go over being intrusive...so eloquent..we were sat to our table after drinks at the bar under no speed. Vast menu and service was 1st class The choice was endless but I went for the beef special..truly a king among curries...superlative in flavour...the naan raised of its plate by 4 inches..a sight to be seen. Sat at the bar for an Irish coffee to finish our evening in Great style.

I’ve had a few meals here and its consistently good. The staff are always lovely and welcoming. The food tonight could not have been tastier. You serve delicious food and have the traditional warmth that other places lack. Well done Zalshah! See you again soon 😋

There is this one waitor names zack, he served me and the curry looked like he pooped in my chicken tikka masala, it was nto appetizing

Recently visited Zalshah in August and had to return again. Food was great ! did have a slight issue with the lamb kebab being undercooked but when the staff were notified they were very apologetic and replaced the food efficiently! this was very appreciated. Portion sizes are fantastic. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Even with this slight issue, we would return again.

We had 5 nights in Burnham, ate here the first night. We both agreed that it was one of, if not the best curry we had ever had. The staff were friendly and the service was very good, as was the price and everything looked clean. On the strength of that we ate there twice in the 5 nights. Wish this restaurant was in Eastbourne.

Always had fantastic service - very welcoming - with amazing food you can’t get better , we have been here for the past 5 yrs and tried all the other take aways in burnham for us without doubt this is the best . ,sometimes it’s just the two of us other times a large party of us but always get the same treatment and good portions of food iam yet to actually finish a meal where the portions are so big . So I ordered a takeaway from here for the first time and it's the worst indian I have ever eaten. Got home to find they had forgotten the rice and that the contents of the bag were swimming in oil. After returning to change the order we finally got our food home it was awful.Very small portions, pots were half full with a thick layer of oil on floating on top, the food looked curldled from the amount of water and oil.I would say 95% oil and water 5% curry and it tasted like it and popadoms tasted like they were cooked in dirty oil. I only ate the food as I was starving, I am surprised they can even call this place an Indian when the food doesn't even taste like curry just water. Total waste of money, we will not be returning

I love Indian food but recently the restaurants that are close have changed ownership resulting in food that is below par. So I decided to try Zalshah and oh my goodness I was not disappointed. I loved the ambience, contemporary setting and of course the wide selection of very tasty and reasonably priced food. Service was excellent, friendly and professional. We all really enjoyed the evening, ate well and finished with puds and coffee! Can't recommend highly enough if you want tasty, well spiced Indian food that is reasonably priced and served by courteous, friendly staff. Thank you Zalshah for making our evening special and this will be our new "best Indian restaurant" when we entertain family and friends!

Food service and hospitality was first class there was no rushing on service we were asked if we were ready for the next course and the staff were very polite all the time we were there would recommend to anyone

When deciding which Indian restaurant to visit last week while on a short break in Burnham ,we chose the one which had people already in .We made the right choice , the food was lovely, well cooked and piping hot , the service was good and we will return if we visit Burnham again

Visited in 2018 and rated it 5, so decided to visit again and was not disappointed. Ordered the same menu as last year and there was no lowering of their high standard.

Really great food, tasty and a good variety. Took family and daughter whose fussy loves the chicken tikka and they don’t mind if you Tailor it a little to your taste. Recommend it for a meal out

Food was okay, not the best and the staff were nice and friendly. Unfortunately the poor rating is for the state of the gents restroom, very tired state, the floor was a puddle around the urinals, the hand soap dispenser attached to the wall was empty. An empty bottle of hand pump soap was lying on its side on the sink which makes me think the wall hung one has been out of action for some time and a pube (or what looked like one) in the sink. Clearly not the doing of the staff,however, shows no one regularly inspects the restroom. If that's the level of hygiene/standards on show to the customers then it sets a standard for the rest of the place/backroom. Sorry I wont be back.

Visited with family for a birthday meal the food was excellent and the service was A*. Best Indian around in my opinion.

Went for a banquet night, nice enough place and a good atmosphere. I tasted each of the starters, all were poor, my aloo chat was 4 small bits of potato with a variation of tomato ketchup sauce. For main the jalfrezi was a salty tomato sauce, pretty awful, didn’t eat it, after waiting for quite a while for it arrive I couldn’t be bothered to complain. Lesson learned I thought, the offer of a cheap meal deal , then don’t expect much. I’ll not be going back, really poor excuse for an Indian , no effort.

I went on a regular night and paid full price instead of going for the "banquet" special. Other review s have said "odd service" well the older man who took over the table was downright rude, he virtually threw the food on the table. The wait between courses was much longer than expected. The food was the worst ever, it was bland and overpriced. I will definitely not be going back to them again.

Tried here as Chandni gone downhill. Found the service from one of the waiting staff to be slightly 'odd', and didn't feel particularly welcome. Soft drinks were flat. My starter - chicken tikka - was raw in places and had to be sent back. To be fair, I had a profuse apology and it was re-cooked but to be served raw chicken in the first place is not good. Our mains were very good - well cooked, tasty, and authentic. However, I doubt we will be back due to the atmosphere and the chicken being raw.

First impression was middle of the road type of restaurant which is situated off the Main Street. However, we were greeted and shown to a lovely table, and the ambiance was good. Ordered the Malaysia and Kashmir dishes both recommended by the waiter. Excellent.

I have used this restaurant for the last 10 years. Food has generally been consistent and authentic. The food is freshly cooked and the staff are attentive.

As per the Red Cow review at Brent Knoll, we decided to follow the tracks of the author Damien Boyd and his characters DI Nick Dixon, Jane and Monty the dog had visited. So we had supper at the Red Zalshah. The atmosphere and staff were very friendly and the food was wonderful. The restaurant has a lovely ambience. If you’re in the area it is well worth a visit.

Came here with the family to see what’s it’s like as there are a few local Indian restaurants and we hadn’t tried this one. Staff were really nice and friendly. Food was okay but a little disappointing. I ordered a hot balti with a keema naan. Was okay but not hot. Chicken was really nice and fresh. Our family live in Burnham and recommended we all had a meal in this restaurant. There was seven in our party ranging quite an age gap and differing tastes in curries, we all agreed we had a great night here with good quality food and service. We were served very quickly after our order was taken and even though the restaurant was pretty full, even better after we had finished our meal there was no rushing us out in fact we were the last party to leave. The restaurant had a good ambiance and the menu was very reasonably priced, we could not have wished for a nicer evening out and will return here on our next visit to the area.

I dinned at Zalshah last saturday with my 4 friends. I must say brilliant food and welcoming staff. I cannot fault it in any way. I endavour to visit again in the near future.

Zalshah is definitely the best Indian restaurant in Burnham! Excellent service and brilliantly cooked food. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality Indian meal. Brilliant at catering for gluten free as well.

We were on holiday for a week in Burnham and for our last night we thought we’d take a wander for some food.

Ate here last Saturday and although the service was a little slow and not very smiley the food was nice. Ate here again last night for my grandads birthday and it was shocking- service was extremely slow even though there were only 3 tables of customers, the staff never smiled nor seemed very welcoming or friendly, the food (every dish was very greasy) and my poor grandads prawn madras was practically inedible (it looked watery and like the prawns had just been chucked into the sauce separately at the end) when the waiter came to remove our plates (grandads hardly touched and this for grandad is the first I’ve ever seen food left) I told him how awful the prawns were and how it was his birthday curry and there was a very quiet ‘oh sorry’ and that was it- no offer to change the dish or to remove from the bill- no sympathy at all- terrible! I felt embarrassed and wished we’d gone round the corner to the other Indian. I’m not one to complain but feel I needed to write this as they handled it so terribly (I didn’t want to make a scene last night) having just spent a month in India, I’m absolutely shocked at the standards of meals this Indian restaurant were willing to serve! Gutted I didn’t take photos :(

Visited this friend when staying with friends in Brent Knoll. The restaurant was very busy, but the food all came as ordered and was delicious. The service was a bit impersonal, but cannot fault this as an Indian Restaurant to visit when in Burnham-on-Sea

We had ‘date night’ here. First time I’ve been here, one of my partners favourite places. It was busy throughout the night. Cost was about average. Have to say personally I found the dishes we had tasted the same. Although they were very different dishes.

My husband and I were recently invited for a meal at Zalshah along with 18 others to celebrate a recent family engagement. Neither of us had heard of this restaurant, but living in Weston-super-Mare we hadn't ventured to anywhere in Burnham-on-Sea for food before.

Phoned to reverse a table no costumer service , of the phone ,once we arrived staff were the same, wasn't made to feel welcome, food was OK ish no taste.we were asked when we finished how the food was ,not during ,we replied truthful, we replied it was OK. Won't be returning ..

went to Zalshah, as it was recommended, read other reviews before we went which were a bit of a mixed bag, but glad we went, they were open when we went we were the first couple in closely followed by another couple, the staff were courteous, if a little curt,however the quantity and quality of the food soon soothed away any misgivings we had. cant fault it at all. almost a rival to my favourite Asian restaurant at home.

Was recommended this place for a really good meal. Got there 5 minutes early and wanted to just sit and wait. Was told they were shut and to go away and come back in 5 minutes!!What they should of said was come in and sit and wait whilst we set up.And maybe have a drink whilst we wait.Well we went away and tried somewhere else.

Returning here simply because the cuisine is always tasty with nice flavours. The staff are always well turned out and look the part which adds to the ambiance and the occasion. This visit was particularly enjoyable and we will call again.

We have a caravan at Burnham on sea and have been going there for twenty years. The first time we went down we tried the Zaishah at lunchtime and we always remember it because it was my birthday. In those days it was the only Indian restaurant that I can recall in Burnham as all the others that are there now have opened up in the last few years. We have tried all the others but keep returning to the Zaishah. The kids and the grandkids prefer this one because if the grandkids fancy a certain dish but it has something in it that they don't like they will cook it to their likeness and have even changed meals for them. We all know there's not a lot to choose between Indian Restaurants but over all those years the Zaishah still stands out from the rest.

I use some restaurants regularly,others occasionally and some only once. I have reviewed the Zalshah before and I must have given it a decent one or I wouldnt be returning.We like the food here it's tasty with curry and spices and has it's own identity,it's like it's the same chef or the same influence. The choice of wines has improved since last time.We will certainly go back when we are in the area.

I was introduced to the Zalshah by my golf buddy. We met for a beer in the bar whilst waiting fur our takeaways. The staff are very friendly and I've now become a regular customer. The food is very good. I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet but intend to do so in the future.

Have been going to this restaurant regularly for nearly 30 years. The atmosphere is way higher than any other restaurant in the area, thanks to Barry and Jamal the two partners running this business. Food standards are consistently high and it is always a treat to visit this establishment. Reputation locally is very high.

We came to the Zalshah because it is featured in the DCI Nick Dixon series of books by Damien Boyd. What luck!With a wide range of dishes available, there was plenty to choose from for all palates. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Our bill for two (starters, mains, accompaniments and two drinks each) was just under £50 - excellent value.As an added recommendation, the proprietors of our accommodation also had their dinner there that night - it's always good to know you're eating where the locals do.Highly recommended!

Had a take out meal from here. Very tasty food, lots of meat in the dishes. Had a Bhuna and Balti, it said they were both medium, I thought they were mild. However, this was my only criticism. Will go back.

Good service, everything very tasty. Drinks prices what I would expect from Indian restaurant. Only slight complaint was that lager was a bit flat. Got very busy by 8pm so must be doing it right. Main dishes lightly smaller than around the corner but more than big enough. I thought they had a bit more spice which I like so was more than happy.

My wife and I have been regular customers for over a decade and thought this Indian restaurant deserved a review. We have had both takeaway and in restaurant meals and have always found the food lovely, all freshly perpared and spiced superbly. In our opinion it is the best Indian restaurant in Burnham and further afield, it is very well used by the local community. The owners take a hands approach with the business and the food reflects very well on them, excellent.

This is a lovely restaurant with imaginative and tasty meals. There are many old favourites but thes often have an unusual twist.
