Repeatedly get Rasoi delivered, always amazing food!

Ordered the mango sorbet. The entire thing came straight out of a freezer. The skin was browning, the sorbet had a frosty coat on top, cheap drizzled strawberry sauce covered the plate. I couldn’t tell you how long it had been frozen for, but - spoon was more than enough. Subpar service.

Well worth the visit!!! Such a great hidden gem of Cheddar to enjoy a authentic meal on a winters day. We ordered as out Mains - Veggie Dansak. This Dish was a sweet delight. Pineapple is the sweet treat in this dish and makes a change from a typical Masala or korma for a sweet curry fix. This works wonders!!! Generous servings of chunky Potatoes soaking up the sweet Lentil based sauce and the the chunky Pineapple as a surprise find. Absolutely well worth a try. Veggie Jalfrezi. Most definitely up there on the Spicy side with the odd Green Chilli's mixed within this dish. Bursting With flavours and again chunky vegetables in such a warmer taste to the mouth. This meal was a perfect winter warmer that was very enjoyable but not to over powering on the spice. A perfect balance. Onion Bhajis, my Absolute favourite side when eating out. These ones were not dry but in fact juicy in Flavors. A good serving of 4 and a great price. Not massive but I'd say the perfect size and very morish. Crispy outerlayers of onion with a stong interiors of flavours. These are a MUST!!! Good service Good food 5 stars on this visit. If you are in Cheddar and fancy a curry then definitely stop by this place. Reasonable prices too

Had a meal at Rasoi's tonight , food was cooked to perfection , probably one of the best lamb biryani's I have ever had. The lamb just melted in your mouth. My partner had a vindaloo which he enjoyed too.The only thing is they do not have a bar and only serve soft drinks . Service was great , lovely atmosphere and would definitely return if we come back to Somerset again

I have been to this restaurant a number of times now the latest 5 days ago.I can genuinely recommend this curry house the food is absolutely amazing. Coming from BIRMINGHAM I know a good curry house hence why I return to the Rasoi time and time again as I know the food is so good. An added bonus is they don’t serve alcoholic drinks so you can take your own which saves money compared to most restaurants where prices are inflated. The staff are excellent as well. The restaurant serves lots of takeaways as which means the restaurant is very rarely more than half full. I don’t mind this at all as I just want a good curry, good service and been able to talk to family and friends on my table. Highly recommended

This is an amazing restaurant, staff were friendly and attentive, food was freshly prepared and so tasty and the tables were spacious with a nice view and with very effective aircon. A true gem.

This is our favourite Indian restaurant. The food is great, at a fair price and the staff are really friendly. We also love the location of the Rasoi and the parking is free after 6pm

I love this place. The food is always top notch. The service is great. The Chicken Naga, or replace chicken with King Prawns..... Is a 100% top top dish. It's Bring your own Alcohol, which keeps the bill down! I would highly recommended trying Rasoi. Thanks guys!!

We went for a family meal on christmas eve. Great food and they allow you to take your own alcohol in due to not serving it.

First time…Not A Good Experience. Ordered home delivery this past Saturday 22/10/2022 and was extremely disappointed. A food item that was ordered was missing. Food was Luke warm and not the best we’ve had elsewhere. Asked for an itemised bill…That was missing. Asked for a recent menu…That was missing. Immediately called restaurant and spoke to someone called Taz…He apologised and offered £10 off next order, I asked for a refund on the item missing and was refused ! Portions were on the small side…It was expensive considering what was delivered. To be honest we weren’t impressed with the service or the food so we won’t be ordering again or recommending you.

Really great food. The masala and seasoning were spot on. Definitely one of the best chicken tikka masalas I've had. They also accommodated a high chair which other restaurants didn't.

After our visit to the cheddar gorge we stumbled across this Indian restaurant so decided to have some dinner. Having after climbing the steep stairs we enter a really beautifully decorated restaurant so my expectations were high. Staff seemed tired but took us to our table. We were sat by the window with wonderful views. The restaurant had 3 other dining parties. Our table cloth had a stain on it. We ordered the mixed grill, lamb jalfrezi, chicken tikka biryani and 2 cokes. The cokes arrived and were rather flat; definitely did not quench my thirst, definitely end of the bottle of maybe a different version of cola. Food didn't take too long to arrive and the mixed grill smelled amazing and the presentation was well thought through. Taking a first bite of the lamb kofte: dry. The chicken tikka had a nice flavour but also rather dry. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection medium but was actually a little chewy. The onions were probably the best part of the mixed grill.. with a nice charred taste. Moving onto the chicken tikka biryani; lacked flavour; wheres the spices? Now onto the lamb jalfrezi, the lamb was cooked well and quite tender but being a spicy hot dish there wasn't hot for me, rather mild. So maybe this was just me personally and maybe the local taste is different. Prices were reasonable but I did find the taste rather bland, I couldn't taste the spices that you'd usually find in Indian cuisines. Never the less I ate all my food and was full and the other diners looked like they were all having a great time.

We keep returning, no matter the distance, for their amazingly tasty vegan options. The staff always listen to special requests, eg, making the food a little bit more spicy! Highly recommend.

This was our 1st takeaway from Rasoi, there delivered half hour before the estimated time, it was all freshly cooked and hot, this Indian is the best Indian we've ever had it was great and not Greasy, ld recommended it to everyone 😋

We really enjoyed our meal at the Rasoi. The decor was beautiful and we had a table in the window overlooking the town. The service was great, the waiters were very friendly and offered us popadoms to start which were fresh and delicious. They only offer non-alcoholic drinks but you can take your own alcohol or buy from the bar downstairs which was quite convenient. They brought the mains out on a trolley which was a nice touch, as well as the linen napkins, it was all very grand which we enjoyed the 5 star service. The food was absolutely delicious, we chose the special madras biryani which was exquisite, and a variety of other dishes including one of the chicken specials plus some vegetable dishes. The peshwari naan was so light and fluffy too. We were too full for dessert but there was a great selection on the menu, however they did give us some lovely orange chocolates with our bill, and offered us more when they saw we liked them! Thank you to the staff for the beautiful food and for making us feel so welcome.

Meat dry and chewy. Bahjees obviously made hours ago. Big chunk of pineapple in the dopiaza. Never had that before. All in all very poor. I eat and cook a lot of indian food. Dont understand why this got such good reviews. Wont bother again

Had a wonderful takeaway meal using their Tuesday meal offer. I had the lamb and I was pleasantly surprised how tender it was. I collected the meal and the restaurant looked very nice inside it is upstairs with views out towards the gorge. Overall well recommended

Stopped here for a meal after lockdown restrictions were eased. The restaurant has been redecorated so looks really fresh. The food and service were faultless and at a good price. Friendly staff and excellent food , who could ask for more. I will return here again without doubt.

Had a curry from here while staying in cheddar for the week , was not bad but I’m spoilt for curry’s in my area of south London and I’m a regular curry eater , had the naga chicken was reasonably hot but nothing I couldn’t handle , was expecting it to blow my head off lol partner had the korma nice sauce but our nann was tough n dry plus took 1 hour and ten mins to deliver so it only gets three stars I’m afraid

Decided to order an Indian on our recent break away. Rang prior to discuss meal options and was told to order on the app. Delivered to the resort in the car park.Food lovely, only criticism was juice was leaking out of most of the cartons where they’d not been packed properly or kept upright.

Had a takeaway in Jan 2021. Food was incredible and piping hot. Well priced, easy to order. Will definitely be reordering. I would recommend: the vegetable dhansak, the vegetable jalfrezi, the bombay potatoes (bombay aloo), the onion bhajee (you get 4!), the peshwari naan and the egg fried rice. They offer a 15% discount on mains when you order online too. Amazing.

This place was very nice up to summer 2020. Over the past few months the food has been awful tasteless curry and soggy Nan breads and watery rice. Must of changed chef or owners the food is rubbish I would not return in the new year.

Visited here on a Tuesday night during half term. Our starter, main and sides were really delicious. Considering it was quiet, they didn’t rush our food out which was perfect. Thank-you for a lovely dinner.

We had travelled over from a Kent for a 3 day break in Somerset and always make a point of finding a lovely Indian restaurant. The Rasoi didn't disappoint. We had a superb meal with excellent efficient service. Can highly recommend

An amazing meal whilst in Cheddar for a long weekend. The menu and cleanliness of this restaurant is amazing and cpuld not fault our meal.The food was piping hot, quick service but not too quick and bring your own drink which is a plus!Me and my boyfriend tried different starters to our usual onion bajii and didn't disappoint. Just returned from having a beautiful meal here. The food was lovely and very hot(temp). I had a beautiful starter spicy chicken fry, lovely had a little kick of spice. The curry’s we had were very nice. All in all a very nice meal.

Following a friend notifying the waiter he had a nut allergy, we then all ordered our food. Upon arrival of the dishes we then asked again to confirm, for 2 hesitant waiters eventually confirming there wasn’t. After 3 mouthfuls of his dish we then had to call an ambulance. Nothing else had to eat, no naan- NOTHING.... I then spoke with the manager on the phone after being told that there was no nuts in the kitchen. One of my friends had just received a reply on here from the manager, stating that there is an allergen sheet. I asked for this numerous times to not be given anything. Also now being told that there IS nuts in the kitchen, the owner on the phone was adamant that there wasn’t. So lies are obviously being forgotten already. If £40 is justified for a life threatening event then that caps off this business as a whole. The dish obviously wasn’t prepared carefully nor separately, if it was then this situation wouldn’t have happened. We were lucky on this occasion with the quick response of the emergency services, but I would recommend avoiding this curry house at all costs if you have an allergy as myself and my group of mates would not wish anyone to go through that experience!

Avoid at all costs if you have any type of allergy. We visited an my cousin with a severe peanut allergy left in an ambulance struggling to breathe. We asked multiple times for staff to check the ingredients but they reassured us without checking. They didn’t have an allergens sheet for us to check over and my friends had to fight tooth and nail to even refund the food my cousin ate. Nonchalant, unhelpful and unconcerned staff when he began having a reaction. The staff don’t know what they’re serving and the chefs don’t either.Disgusted with the restaurants abhorrent and ignorant behaviour.

The evening meal we had in this Bangladeshi/ Indian restaurant was very good. Great service with the waiter giving advice on the dishes on the menu. All the food was presented very nicely and tasted delicious, and great value for money. Would go again if in the area.

We had a family takeaway for 7, with a range of different dishes including two vegetarian. We collected, with the meal ready on time and service good.They offer a 15% reduction for on-line orders; our meal including mains, a few sides, poppadoms and rice was £75 for all 7 of us. Great value.We all agreed that the quality was very good with generous portions all round. Food was hot. I see several indiffernt reviews but our experience was entirely favourable.The important Food Standards Agency Hygiene rating is a 5, the top mark (review April 2018) - excellent - this is important to us as readers of my other reviews will know.Recommended.

Not comfortable with air con on in the current covid situation. So decided not to stay. Asked why they didn't just open the windows. They said they weren't allowed to. Didn't feel safe. Staff seemed very stressed. Toilets dirty. Shame as we have been going for many years.

We really wanted to like this place - had read all the great reviews and booked it for the first night of our holiday. Unfortunately everything about our experience was just a bit indifferent. No warm welcome ... just directed to a table and then dealt with in a very matter of fact way all evening. It just felt very bog standard, as if we were in a canteen. We were served poppadoms very quickly - great - but then waited an age to order our food and struggled to attract attention for anything we needed during the rest of the evening. We hadn't realised that this is NOT a licensed venue. You can 'bring your own' and we would have done if we'd been made aware of this fact when we'd booked. Unfortunately we hadn't been. The starters were on the small side and pretty unsophisticated. The poppadoms were average but not 100% fresh and crispy. The main courses were fine but nothing to write home about. On a positive note the tables were well-spaced, there was hand gel available and the staff were (mostly) wearing masks. We wouldn't return as it was nothing special and the staff didn't seem to care whether we were there or not.

We visited Cheddar during August 2020 and wanted to find a restaurant for a celebratory birthday meal. After seeing the reviews we decided on Rasoi and were not disappointed. The staff were very polite and attentive - the restaurant had beautiful views and was completely covid-19 compliant. The food was very tasty and a great selection. We had a lovely meal and would recommend to anyone heading to Cheddar.

Had a lovely take away delivery this evening delivered to our campsite where we are staying for the week. Placed our order online and had a phone call to meet them at reception to collect. Even though there was a mess up with the delivery bags, the man in the restaurant (Apologies I didn’t get your name) literally went above and beyond to get it corrected and went to the effort to recook all our starters and mains and have it redelivered ASAP. Very grateful thank you. Highly recommend the Spicy Chicken Fry Starter! Was amazing. Thank you again, will be sure to order again X

Very pleasant evening here. Lovely food, well prepared and very tasty. Excellent staff to serve you. Not a licensed premises so no beer or alcohol, which is a bit of a shame. Menu was comprehensive and it is worth a visit. Decor could do with a livener and more pictures as the surroundings are bland. In all other respects a top place to go to...
