The best restaurants serving Indian food in South East

Very good service and food , Had a very good Indian breakfast this morning. Ghatihya, Jelabi and Khaman Dhokla. Try these and you will be happy all week. Freshly cooked Chilli Paneer and Chana too, very tasty takeaway.

Took a punt and was so glad I did - the food is seriously impressive for a takeaway place. Fantastic chikka tikka and lamb jalfrezi - both were pipping hot and incredibly flavoursome. Vegetable dishes did not disappoint either and my go-to staple order - the one thing I order in every Indian restaurant - Tarka Dhal was again delicious. Great little business which deserves to succeed.

I love this little restaurant. The staff here can’t do enough to make you feel welcome. We came with our family for a Christmas meal and we like this place because it’s not loud and hectic like other restaurants in town. This is a proper curry house. The staff really can’t do enough to make you feel welcome and the food was just amazing, just what you want when celebrating Christmas with the family some good curry and welcoming service. Thanks to all the staff at the star of Asia for looking after us, we will see you soon :)

Restaurant has now closed. It was set up as a Chai Cafe but that has also closed. No notice#to say what is happening. chutney is opposite and is very good

1.5hrs late no offer compensation spent 48 quid for cold food not good service

Can not fault it for good food, great service and value.

ordered a chicken curry rice & tandoori roti/naan, the chicken & rice were perfect 10/10 however the tandoori roti was completely rubbish load of dough not even cooked through and the thickness was unbelievable, I wish I could have uploaded a photo off it but it went straight into garbage bin, will not use these again, apparently the oldest restaurant in Gravesend...

Delays happen. Food was gorgeous, though.

Best Indian in the area. Always delicious and great, fast service. We regularly sit in and get takeaways - I'd recommend the New Akash to anyone!

Visited on 7th March 2025. Food AMAZING. We were a table of 4 and each of us thought the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

Food was lukewarm and chicken was rubbery.

The hosts were very obliging and helpful. The restaurant is very friendly atmosphere and the food was amazing! Great value for money! We will be back! Highly recommended!
