Couldn't out my finger on what was missing. But was all a bit average.

Blue Cobra ! If u see my images i took u will understand why it is called otherwise . 🥰! 🐍 We loved the food and the ambience , the hospitality as well. So happy to find it. Highly recommended.

Great food. Very busy for a Sunday night but service was fast.

Travelled from Devon for the weekend which took far longer than expected. We were booked in at The Blue Cobra Lee-on -Solent and arrived slightly late. This was not an issue for the staff who fully understood our frustration at being late. We had a quite superb meal made all the more enjoyable by the friendly attentive staff, Highly recommended.

Great food, great service. It really was a pleasure to dine here after a long day of work. A relaxing atmosphere with attentive waiters. The food was lovely and warming and the value for money was spot on. Had a mix up with the naan breads (which was our fault) Our waiter quickly sorted things and didn’t charge us for the extra one we ordered.

This long-established restaurant was our first choice for a curry whilst staying in Lee-on-the-Solent for a week. We both enjoyed a really good curry and, the restaurant would have earned a 5-star rating from me but for one thing - they do not serve desserts. All was not lost, as we managed to procure some ice cream after our meal from a café on the seafront, but we would have both preferred to have enjoyed it sitting in the restaurant.

One guy is on the phone the other guy was just standing there no eye contact with us. Finally got to sit down as the guy who was in the phone reluctantly come off the phone to sit us down! The other guys so so rude to us when I asked for a drink. He said “wait a minute, we have just opened” so rude and unwelcoming. It’s like we were being told off for wanting to spend money in their restaurant! The popodums were “stale” probably leftover from last night. Other food were nice and delicious. It’s such a shame that the person found us an inconvenience and we felt unwelcome all the time we were there. Should have walked out when we were first “told off” for coming in! Will not be spending my money here again!

We have been here several times now and the food and service are excellent. Our latest visit was with friends on a busy Saturday evening and although the food and service were up to the usual high standards there were 2 large groups of people and due to the size of the restaurant and the close proximity of the tables this made it extremely noisy and difficult to hold a conversation. We would normally go on a weekday when it’s not so busy and I know the restaurant can’t control the size of parties or the noise levels but on this occasion it did slightly spoil what would otherwise have been a very pleasant evening.

Excellent selection of well made curries all fresh and flavourfull. The staff were very chatty and helpful The starters were Shahee mixed kebab and king prawn puree In the picture its a chicken tikka massala Lahore lamb chops, cheese naan, lemon rice and a saag paneer. All great

Everything was absolutely 💯 superb! I am both gluten free and vegetarian and there were many options to choose from. Food was delicious and plentiful, service great, lovely atmosphere and good VFM. This was my first visit and definitely not my last. Highly recommend!

Haven eaten at the restaurant a few times and previously had a delivery , this evening I tried to order another takeaway only to be told the delivery driver doesn’t want to deliver to the PO13 Peel Common Area because its to far away from lee! From my house to the restaurant, it is 1.6 miles and well within the 3 mile radius on the menu but I would be happy to pay a charge!! So if you live in Gosport don't bother ordering we are to far away for the driver!!!

Went here on Saturday night had a chicken korma. Next day had severe food poisoning.

We decided to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary here and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our server was excellent and even though I ordered chicken tikka masala, he advised me to try another one from the menu. I agreed and I couldn’t have been more impressed. The chicken jhool was tasty, hot and wonderfully prepared. Nothing was too much trouble. I cannot recommend this restaurant height enough - you will not be disappointed.

Had a joint anniversary meal here with friends on Friday 30th. Never been before. Was shocked at the speed they took our orders. Literally took our plates as we were eating the last pieces. Then the next course appeared. It was all very rushed by all the staff. Should have been an enjoyable relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely lovely but would have just liked to have taken more time eating it without pressure

Lovely food, friendly staff - the prices are considerably higher if you eat in than if you take away…I believe you pay vat to eat in where as takeaways you don’t. Other than that best local Indian we’ve had

We've eaten here a few times and never been disappointed Always popular and busy. We ordered a mixed kebab starter to share plus poppadoms and chutneys plus mixed tandoor grill, chicken tikka masala, rice, nan, lamb tikka masala & garlic chilli chicken. Food was delicious, service was excellent Highly recommend but do book in advance

Slow service overcharged on the rice

Awful experience tonight, have been going with my family for years. This time was a quiet night with two of my friends and was treated completely different. Things were taken off my plate before I had finished eaten my meal, they even failed to box up what we asked for and took 20 minutes to bring our bill. I understand busy times but for a small restaurant with multiple staff working this is unacceptable. I will not be returning.

Would not recommend this restaurant, my husband had a meat curry and I had a chicken curry and they were both tasteless!! not worth the money, stay clear!!

Pleasently surprised, not been to the Blue Cobra before,really impressed with our meal,would definitely come back here again! Only gripe is that the mains came out not long after we had finished the starters.

This is possible the best Indian in the area, booking is a must.

Had the Lamb Naga and mushroom rice, my wife had Tandoori King Prawns. They were both excellent. The Naga though hot still had lots of flavour and plenty of lamb. The mushroom rice had proper half mushrooms in the fried rice not just tiny pieces. My wife's Tandoori came out on a sizzling skillet and smelled delicious. She says it's the best Indian food she has had and I have to agree the food was excellent. We come from the Winchester area and there is nothing to compare and I have tried them all. We will be going back.

Another great meal, been here a few time and allways had great service and great food, not expensive for what you get, take away is not as nice as a sit down meal!

Just had an excellent takeaway from this restaurant. All items were top quality, highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived at 7pm as per our booking, service was awfully slow. Staff forgot drinks and had to be reminded. Food was pretty good but I had just been to the New Bengal on Thursday and its way superior in all ways in my opinion. It seemed like the staff didn't want us to be there and paid more attention to the other tables in there that arrived after. Maybe they are regulars. I thought it was actually expensive for what is was £195 for 6 of us, scrawled on a piece of paper. Would never bother coming back here. If the owners read this though put more effort in as you're a customer service based business.

Our first visit to this restaurant and we’ll certainly be back, amazing food and plenty of it! Nice wine and well looked after by staff. Nice to find such great quality in a small local town. Keep it up

Not a very happy customer after ordering Indian for 5. Were told it was busy so expect about an hour wait for food. No problem. Waited an hour - getting hungrier and hungrier. Called at 90 minutes to check it was coming, told it was on way. 1hr 45minutes later... no food. Called again, told 5 mins. No apology. Still was not here after 5 minutes. We ordered at 7, food finally arrived at 9:10. Awful.

Very lovely food but misleadingly expensive. There's no menu outside and no real menu online. The charge a fair amount more for dine -in which is to be expected but there's no way of knowing how much. Me and my girlfriend ordered: - one portion of onion baji each - one chicken balti that came with a naan - 2 poppadoms - 2 Malabowith coke - 1 coke From a takeaway Indian this would usually cost around £20 or less. To dine in it cost us just over £50. The dine in experience was nice with everything you'd expect from an Indian dine in but unfortunately the customer service was just good. For £50 and bring the only people in the restaurant we we're expecting the high end of hospitality but unfortunately all we got was standard politeness and barely a smile. The waiters were always around for us to call on though which is nice. Ultimately, Blue Cobra is just mediocre and you're better off just going to lee tandori.

Fast & friendly service, food very good standard and all dishes were very delicious. Enjoyed by the whole family.

I have had lots of Indian food over the years, from many different restaurants and takeaways, and the Blue Cobra is right up there with the best of them in terms of quality and service. I have had takeaway and sit in service here, both of which are always excellent.

I moved from london to fareham in 2018 and it has taken 2.5 years to find a spot on curry. Wont go anywhere else now. unsure if they deliver to my home as we are a few miles away but will happily collect as I know how good the food is. Had 2 takeaways in 2 weeks ....just to see if it was by chance a decent curry 1st time round but was not disappointed. We didnt eat in but are it in caffe Lee just next door. We plan to dine in in the future

We pre-booked for dinner here as due to Covid-19 the restaurant was running at reduced capacity. Upon arrival we were shown promptly to our table and the service throughout the meal was very good. The starter I had, mixed kebabs, was probably the best starter I have ever had in an 'Indian' restaurant. It was served as a 'sizzler' and was sooo tasty! The remainder of the meal also lived up to expectations - not too much quantity, but good food nicely presented. A lovely - and unexpected - touch at the end of the meal was a complimentary small liqueur. Well done to the team at Blue Cobra for a really memorable and enjoyable dinner.

We were intending to book a table at the restaurant but going by the previous review regarding the lack of Covid 19 measures it's probably good that we didn't. However the takeaway that we had delivered instead was excellent. I was advised that it would be about 45 minutes and it arrived just shortly after this time, the food was piping hot, everything was as ordered plus free poppadoms and onion salad. The portions are really good and the quality of the food was excellent. We both ordered Tava chicken, one with pulao rice and one with mushroom rice plus garlic naan and every dish was well cooked and extremely tasty. We have had takeaways from other restaurants in the area in the past but, having has several meals from Blue Cobra, we certainly wouldn't go anywhere else.

I had a great vegetable balti here just over a week ago (end August). the food was really delicious and when I entered the restaurant, there were only two other tables occupied. But the waiters were not wearing visors or masks, there were no perspex screens between the tables, which were barely 2 m apart, and gradually they let more and more people in until this quite small space was full to bursting with diners, plus others coming in to collect takeaways, not always wearing masks either. . I got nervous, finished my meal quickly, and left. I was not impressed. I suspect the restaurant was not even within the law regarding social distancing, and other covid measures. The food is good, but the whole place needs to heed the covid restrictions.

Be careful when dining here, misleading on phone and stated When asked that they are part of the eat out to help out scheme. They are NOT part of the scheme and charged us full price!!! Totally unfair, and when questioned looked very sheepish as they know what they said! Avoid! Or pay full price when you could have a great meal else where much cheaper!

We had another excellent meal at the Blue Cobra last night.The food and the service were of a very high standard, which is what we have come to expect from the staff and management of the Blue Cobra.The restaurant is running at half capacity to ensure that social distancing measures are adhered to, but in no way does this impact on the dining experience.The Blue Cobra is one of the best restaurants in the area, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Try the duck curry. Fab, and great staff.

We normally eat in this restaurant on a regular basis but due to the Covid lockdown we had a takeaway delivered instead. We were told it would be 45 minutes and it was delivered to our door in exactly 45 minutes. The driver had a mask on, left the food by the front door, rang the bell and retreated until I came out, acknowledged me and drove off adhering perfectly to lockdown procedures. The order was exactly as we had requested, food was piping hot and just as tasty as eating in the restaurant. Until we can visit the restaurant once more we would definitely use the delivery service again.

Restaurant used to be good but takeaways have gone downhill since lockdown. King prawn balti only had a few small prawns - nothing like the prawns they used to use. Think I’ll go back to Solent Tandoori

Recommend to all my friends and family! Everyone I know in lee and stubbington go here. It’s an amazing place, very friendly, very authentic and never ever had anything other then 5 star visits here. A lot of my friends choose to travel to us to come here for dinners. Very shocked by any bad reviews because I’ve never heard a bad word said about here. Only thing I would say is unfortunately you only really hear the bad and people don’t tend to spent time on writing good reviews, so personally I would advise to ignore all bad reviews.

Please just put in some soft lighting. Keep the neon outside and make the inside look like a restaurant and not a club

Service was good and portions generous. Probably the best curry I have had.

As most have commented the restaurant is small and you must book Friday and Sat. We have never had a bad experience since being introduced by a family member and if we want a sit down Indian this is the place we go. Food always excellent and a massive choice for all. Coconut Rice is a must with a nice hot spiced curry! I tend to use another site for my takeaways closer to home but we travel here for sit in.

We were a party of six, visiting the area for the weekend. We booked a table at this restaurant, based on Tripadvisor ratings.It was a Saturday night and understandably busy. But, to keep asking to be served throughout the evening wore a bit thin.Don't get me wrong, the staff were charming and the food was great. I just get a bit grumpy when I'm sat there for 10 to 15 minutes and nobody has come to take a first drinks order. I then get a little grumpier when the waiter comes to take our food order and we have to tell him we are still waiting for our drinks.Overall: Lovely food, just need to sharpen a few things up.

Second visit - I ordered lamb and was given chicken. The same thing happened first time I visited. For this to happen twice was really disappointing. It was tasty but not what I wanted!

Always good value and very tasty food - plenty of choice too! Nice atmosphere and lovely staff! I particularly love the Goan Chicken - my favourite dish now!

Me and my wife got a takeaway from blue cobra and was so impressed. Garlic chilli lamb was so tasty, my wife’s mild garlic lamb that they especially made for her was also fantastic. We will be using Blue Cobra regularly now. They also offer 10% off for pick up :-)

The food is excellent and the choice is superb. The staff are very helpful and happy to advise on dishes and adjust the flavor or heat of a dish to suit your tastes. Especially Sunny who remembered us even though we only visit when we are in the uk. They have now given us a loyalty card and which we can get discounts with and save points and get free meals etc. I can't recomend this restaurant enough.

My wife bought a groupon deal for an afternoon tea at this place. She booked it through the groupon site and we went there on the booked date and time only to find that they didn't serve afternoon tea on that day. Groupon insisted that since we had booked to go to the restaurant that our groupon voucher had been used and refused to refund the cost. Total farce and waste of money and time. Don't fall for this trap.

This was a second visit. I requested dairy free korma if possible and it was made with coconut milk. Very tasty! Small restaurant but always busy. Quick service and tasty food.

Superb quality of food, decent portions and really good service. The food is consistently good and the staff really go out of their way to look after you and make sure everything is as it should be. Have been using Blue Cobra for several years now and would think of going anywhere else.

The quisine here is absolute tops. It must be one of the best in the country, let alone this area. It's not that it's superb food compared with the "standard" Indian, but so much more creative and seems to me genuine,
