Solent Tandoori in Gosport

I know alot about Indian food, I have years under my belt cooking most Indian dishes from scratch, it's a passion and hobby of mine, I have lots of inside knowledge too on takeaway indian food. When I'm too busy or tired to cook I'll only order from These Guys, they are the best and use proper and fresh ingredients, not from a bucket like all the others in the area. Trust me I tried every other in the area and gave up hope then one day I found Solent Tandoori and they are 100% the best.

Honestly the best curry in the area! Never ever had any bad experiences with Solent tandoori. Great people and great food!

Food is good but they offer 10% off which is plastered on their website but that's only for cash orders odd as people don't really carry cash now if paying by card no 10% off which it does not state on their website and I quote "order over £14 and get a huge 10% off" there are no terms and conditions posted for this simply put scammers

Starving hungry after work and a long journey home, popped in and ordered take away menu. Sadly the naan crunched as I bit into the corner piece which sounded like bits of glass. Won’t be ordering again. Can’t eat the rest of my food now. Makes me worry about their kitchen conditions.

I'm angry that I didn't find Solent tandoori sooner. We just had the lamb tikka and chicken tikka something, something and they tasted amazing.

Food was wonderful and the service was excellent. The best example of how authentic Indian food should be made.

I have had Indian meals regularly over the past 40 years or more, including in restaurants and from takeaway establishments and in many areas of the country! I have also been to India 4 times travelling around the country trying various regional recipes so I am well informed in Indian food! I have to say that all orders from Solent Tandoori in Lee on Solent has been the best Indian food that I have ever tasted, which is quite some achievement... WELL DONE TO THE CHEF CHEF'S.... I would highly recommend Solent Tandoori to anyone and everyone.

I have only used this takeaway because of the quality of the food, we order the same 3 dishes every time so I know what to expect Tonight was the worst I have ever had 8.12.23. both dishes were tasteless the sauce was weak and it seemed like some of the ingredients had been left out. Maybe a new chef who knows I can get a average curry anywhere. Next time I will return it for a refund and go to Sainsbury's. Very poor. You will get one more chance

Fantastic takeaway restaurant. I like my food spicy and their did not disappoint, the difference here is the food had a depth of flavour not just heat. The food was clean, hot and on time. Excellent, reasonably priced and very prompt Indian takeaway. Particularly noticed the cleanliness and tidiness of the customer area. We used them three times during our stay in the area with no complaints at all.

We ate at this restaurant a week ago. The food was good but the service was diabolical. It was a young waiter who had both hands in his pockets and chewing gum standing at the end of our table while taking our drinks order. He then returned just as we received our popadoms, still chewing on the gum to take our main food order, it was like everything was too much trouble for this waiter. Due to this poor service I will no longer be eating there.

Health and hygiene is not good with this Indian take away sat down to what we thought would be a nice treat to find a nasty surprise in food long black hairs always thought they used hair nets caution especially in times of COVID needed when ordering food from solent tandoori. If I didn’t have to I wouldn’t even leave one star

Have been using them for years always on time fabulous food, one tiny problem last year and they went over and beyond to sort that. Had another takeaway this weekend food was amazing as always quick delivery and cannot rate them enough all my friends now even in Fareham and beyond use them.

more or less cold on delivery, portion size has definitely dropped, the quality of the food was not good at all, we will not be back, this is after 5-6 yrs of using them, very disappointed, hope they read this and improve

Gone down hill alot in last 6 months food pretty much the same, all tastes the same, incredibly slow, 2 hours for delivery, always 15/20 mins late for pick up. But still my go to cause its cheaper than takeaways from local restaurants

Ordered takeaway from here for fist time and loved it. Not to greasy. Very tasty. Decent sized portions. All fresh and reasonably priced. Will now be my go to curry house. Put 4 star rating as the delivery was long. Should of been max 1 hr but was about 1.5 hrs

Does not deliver to PO12 area GOSPORT. Only in lee-on-the Solent. Appalling attitude on the phone. Definitely will not recommend this Indian takaway who obviously does not care for its potential customers when not delivering to a area that is so close to them.

It did take a while. But was worth waiting for. Loved it will definitely be back.

Afraid to say it has gone downhill since my last review 2 years or so ago. The issue - consistency. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is very average. Sometimes packed with flavour, others bland. Not to mention they are nearly impossible to get hold of, you call and they cut you off. So I suppose trying to get hold of them, like their food, is a bit of a lottery.

Just had our first takeaway from here, ordering no problem, took around 40 mins, plenty of food, very tasty, would recommend a visit, will definitely be getting another from here.

Just had 2 meals delivered, bang on time, piping hot and delicious!

Been ordering from Solent Tandoori for years and they have been consistently good. They are always friendly and make a meal less spicy when we ask them.

I used to love this takeaway but I won't be ordering again. I have been poorly after the last three orders from here - I'm guessing that they are now using MSG (monosodium glutamate, a flavour enhancer) as this is what usually triggers the symptoms I experienced.

We have ordered from here for years and never had an issue but our order today was terrible. There was so much oil in the food it was sitting on the plate. There was 1 popadom for 3 people and the chips were burnt and dry. I hope this was a one off bad day!

We have been using this take away for many years; we even have curry on Christmas day and order vast amounts the evening before. Last Saturday the food was not good, low in quality and low in quantity, my wife who is vegetarian and a non complainer also commented that her meal was poor. £23 not well spent Has something changed this takeaway has always been so good; we will give it one more try. Even more annoying the delivery driver pulled up outside our house with the radio so loud the whole street could here it, just not necessary.

My partner and I have used this takeaway a couple of times now, sometimes collecting and sometimes getting it delivered. So far the food has been really good. It’s always hot, with a good size portion and taste great. I would recommend giving it a try.

Lived in Lee on Solent for over 6 years and thought we’d give this place a try rather than our usual and won’t be again!The Lamb Naga was very poor. A hot sauce with no depth of flavour, with the lamb clearly only added moments before collection, as it was hardly infused with any of the sauce at all.Naan was overly thick and ‘dabby’!Goan chicken a scary red colour.Pilau rice wasn’t aromatic at all.Very poor meal, not great with so much local competition.One things for sure, we won’t be going back!

Last night we had the most incredible takeaway meal here! Honestly the best Indian I have ever had. Perfect service from start to finish. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

We moved down here four or five years ago and looked for a good Indian takeaway with value for money. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts found this place. Just had another good curry, food hot, good quality and service excellent.

Good points . Ready in 20 minutes ..chicken tikka ok , bad points . Paratha too thick, actually uneadible! lemon rice no lemon taste and very salty, onion bargee stodgy! Won’t be using this take out again .

Service is terrible, they really need to up their game here. It's OK pleasing the holidaymakers but in the winter it is the locals that pay their wages. Disgusted with their attitude.

My boyfriend recommended this place and as I was visiting him I thought it would be a great time to try it. We both ordered a chicken madras, rice, chips and naan breads. The curry was delicious and actually had a lot of flavour compared to some I’ve had before. I’m definitely going to use this place again next time I’m in the area.

Great little Indian, good food, excellent service.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star, told my food would be delivered in 1 hour, it took 2 hours, I called them numerous times to chase my food up, they weren't very bothered about it. When my food eventually arrived, the bag was ripped, the food was cold, the curry containers were damaged leaking curry everywhere, my popadums were smashed up and my naan bread was crushed up too. I used to rate this takeaway but lately they are a bloody joke.

Unbelievably poor service tonight, no idea what happened, were told that we had an hour wait for food, which is understandable. Chased after an hour and 15 mins and were told that it would be no longer than 10 minutes...an hour and 50 minutes later and we were still waiting, another call and the food is with the driver, no form of apology, just they’ll chase the driver. The driver eventually arrived, again no apology - popadoms all smashed up, bag ripped, the curries spilling out of the containers like the bag had been thrown around...to make matters worse the food was lukewarm at best. £22 worth of food ruined! Phoned to complain the food was cold to be told “yeah I understand” awful. Won’t be using again, don’t recommend, whereas before today we wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!

Fantastic food but for the 2nd time in a row they forgot to put the naan bread in that i'd ordered and forgot to take off 10% for collection. So word of warning, check your bill and your order before you leave the shop. Other than that the food is brilliant so please dont be put off!

Utilizamos este llevar en muchas ocasiones en los últimos 12 años. Problemas con la comida que siempre es recién hecho y sabroso. Se encuentran mejor al vindaloo kilómetros! No podemos comentar en servicio de entrega porque siempre me recogerá en persona. Las comidas siempre listo en su tiempo establecido. Excelente personal y servicio.

Ordered food to be told would be 40 mins to one hour maximum finally got food one hour 35 mins later. Had to reheat it as it was not hot. Shame as food is usually lovely but has put us off now.

Pedí una comida muy grande la última noche para mis amigos y yo, y como el amor que muchos conocen un buen curry, restaurante y comida para llevar son muy concurrido en los Sábados. No obstante, la comida estaba lista para colección en tiempo caliente y sabía maravilloso! No soy un fanático de la comida grasosa, así que el pollo balti no era demasiado grasosa, pero perfecto fue un cambio muy agradable! El personal nos pareció muy agradable y acogedor. Cortésmente educados. La sala de espera estaba limpio y confortable y no me pareció fuera de lugar. Sin duda lo recomendaría a amigos y familiares y sin duda volveremos de nuevo!

Pero realmente no los aficionados para llevar este probar dio como local y práctico. No nos decepcionó. Probamos varios de los platos de verdura, porque mi hija es vegetariana y todo muy sabroso También probé el pollo tikka - excelente relación calidad-precio con curry y arroz el cordero passanda incluido y tenía una buena cantidad de carne. Un montón de rellenar el paratha Peshwari Naan y la hizo un cambio agradable. Pasamos por pedido y tuvimos suficiente para otra noche no puedo quejarme!

We ate here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and were not disappointed, the food was lovely and the service excellent, we will definitely be coming back.

He utilizado este para llevar un par de veces y ahora nunca ir a ningún otro sitio. La comida es simplemente increíble. Mi esposa no es muy aventurero cuando se trata de comida picante, pero tener la tentación con gustos de mina ella es transformada. El Manchoori, aunque bastante caliente, es mi recomendación. Es algo que no he oído hablar de antes, pero me encanta desde aquí.

Llamó a 17.30 para llevar y entrega a las 7 de la tarde. Hasta ahora tan bueno! La orden llegó a las 7.30 pm. de la orden y faltaban comida estaba muy fría, así que tuve que volver a calentar antes de poder comer. Pero por desgracia no fue todo lo mal...... tikka masala era muy sosa y aguada y el cordero curry era nuevo sabor y contenía una banda elástica!!!!! Curry era binned! Nunca pedir desde allí de nuevo!

Best Indian takeaway in Lee-on-the Solent. The Solent Tandoori's dishes are mouthwatering delights such as fruity Chicken Kashmir, perfect for a summer's evening.

Your taste buds will be delighted with the fusion of dishes available from this friendly 5 stay food hygiene rated takeaway. The team are always friendly and knowledgeable. Close to the seafront so perfect place to grab a takeaway Indian & sit by the sea, just take a fork :-)

This review is based on review of take out and not "fine dining" so the stars reflect this. Discovered by chance as was hungry on the drive home and stopped to get something. Now it is the only indian I use and go to- on my "cheat day" which is Friday. It is good value for money, never feel cheated, portion size is good and tasty too! Take note- I have been disappointed with them twice, both of which were delivery times. Promising within 45 minutes but taking 65 and 85 respectively with no offer of free side or discount next time. Both these occasions weren't in the peak time, with one a Sunday evening and the other early Friday.

Having had 3 takeaways previously I thought a review in hand . Although this time I was left slightly let down . Swift delivery on a Sunday evening which was good . However my curry was extremely salty , slightly bland . Had same on previous visit but not same tonight . Mouth tasted of salt hour later but will visit again !!!!

Well, firstly, I telephoned without a menu and a very vague idea of what each member of our party wanted. The gentleman on the phone was extremely pleasant, patient and knowledgeable about his menu and the ingredients In all the dishes. He listened to what I wanted and made recommendations for each person. We collected our order some 20 minutes later and received a discount for doing so. The food seemed well prepared and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The taste was delicious and portions generous enough. We will be going here again, a welcome surprise and will no doubt be seeking some more recommendations in the very near future.

I highly recommend ordering from Solent Tandoori, it's always been such great food. There's a wide selection to choose from on the menu and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful if you're not sure what you want! There's nowhere better in the area.

As a family we ordered 4 currys and rice to share. We ate it but it wasn't very good.The currys all had a similar colour, taste and consistency - a korma should be very different to a jalfrezi.It's like they have one standard sauce for everything then add more sugar or spice depending on what you ordered.It looked and tasted like very little effort went into the dishes.

Popped into here on a Friday night after a few beers at the pub! The place was very busy, however, easily found a table for 4. Prices very good, food very quick from the order and delicious - truly value for money - the beer was cold too! Keep up the good work!!
