Had a delivery tonight.small portions compared to other restaurants. delivered by restaurant driver who was a miserable git even though he got a tenner tip.wont be ordering from here again

Never been disappointed in the many years going to the Megna Tandoori. The new waiters are very friendly & efficient & have settled in nicely bonding together & recognising the restaurants regular customers.

Very sorry for this review. I dont like writing reviews on small family places, however after eating here, keen to share my experience. Quality of food is very poor and overpriced. Not tasty and small portions. Pretty sure the food was nor prepared fresh, however cant confirm that. I wouldnt eat here again and discourage friends/family to do so also. Sorry Megna.

We ordered a takeaway. It has to be the worst Indian I have ever had in my life!!!! Everything was old and cold, even though my husband was waiting for over half hour to get the food it was still cold! Even the garlic bread was stale. The chicken was as beyond dry and definitely few days old. The sauce was thin with no flavour. The best part of the meal was the poppadoms.

We have used Megna in Englefield Green for several years, predominantly for take aways. I noticed there is a reference to Abdul from another testimonial written by a customer. Abdul has always been a wonderful individual, who normally delivers the food himself to our home. We will miss him!

We forgot to order Pilau rice for our meals & they delivered our order at no extra cost even though we explained it was our mistake. Such a lovely gesture.

Went to Megna Tandoori Indian restaurant last night Sunday 1st Oct with my wife. The food was as usual delicious with efficient service by friendly staff. We were saddened & shocked when Abdul the head water told us he was leaving that night. Abdul had worked at the restaurant for over six years & it wont be the same without his expert, friendly manner in which he dealt with all the customers who I'm sure will feel the same as us.

Can’t rate this place highly enough. Get takeaway from here twice a week normally. Lamb is always well cooked. My favourite is Chicken Shashlik with a Vindaloo sauce. Adding to this … I’ve recently been partaking of the King Prawn Jalfreizi and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

We have been coming to the Megna ever since we came to Englefield Green more than 20 years ago and it remains our favourite curry restaurant bar none - fresh cooked food and great service !

The curry and service here are impeccable - the decor could do with an update but not so much as to bring this review down to a 4 star. I’ll be back.

Went to Megna Tandoori Restaurant last Friday evening 18th August with my wife. Delicious food, always welcomed by management & staff, who are really efficient, helpful & friendly. This is definitely the best Indian restaurant we've been to.'

Went to Megna Tandoori restaurant last Thursday evening with my wife for dinner. The food & excellent friendly service was as always great. We regularly go to the Megna & have done for many years which is quite local for us & have never been disappointed. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful Indian restaurant in Englefield Green village.

Went to Megna Tandoori Englefield Green last night Sunday 21st May with my wife for dinner. We regularly dine there & wouldn't consider another Indian restaurant in the area. Our food was delicious & as always the management & staff were efficient, friendly giving us a warm welcome on our arrival. Megna really is the place for great Indian food it's, comfortable, clean with a good atmosphere. .

Food was insanely good but the portion was tiny for an Indian take away. It came in the same container as the rice and we were expecting it to come in a bigger container like other takeaways in the area. But the food was really good and I’ll probably order from there again if I just want a small dinner

Ordered saag aloo (spinach and potato) and butter chicken but got some kind of frozen veg mix in masala and korma… portions are tiny and the chicken tasted plastic. lamb biryani (even though it was the smallest portion) and the naan was good though. Ordered 2 portions of samosas for £8 and they only gave 4 (bad tasting) samosas! One samosa cannot be £2 what a rip off. The picture is the “butter chicken”

Terrible service very rude on phone when we rang, our order was 40mins late and we were told it was 10mins away then 20 minutes later we were told the traffic was bad even though we live 3 miles from the restaurant We were hung up on twice and then after waiting nearly 2hours for food they cancelled our order Terrible service would never order from there again

Very rude customer service, asked for a delivery and they were not happy to deliver 2 miles down the road after saying I am willing to pay delivery charge, I have visited this place once before and the food wernt that bad but this time around the customer service was so disappointing I will never return back, we were planning to make a big party order but the staff over the phone was so rude we decided to go to the competition, we were told to call another shop in Slough which is very far from us over all very disappointed.

My wife and I have been using the megna for years, this weekend we ordered chicken rogan josh, chicken korma and chicken tikka, when I opened the rogan josh dish and tasted it there was completely no flavour other than a tin of chopped tomatoes, even the korma was so bland, I have never eaten such tough chicken before, sadly we will never eat from there again

AWFUL TELEPHONE SERVICE Tried to call the Megna to order a take away and was rudely told they do not open till 6 and abruptly had the phone hang up on me. I rang back later and asked for the person who I spoke to before only to have them repeat that they were not open and have the phone hung up on me for a second time. Shame as have been using the Megna for many years along with my family but we will start looking else where.

Decided to order a takeaway. Ordered a chicken madras- tasted awful 3/10. Cost 8.50 slightly higher than other local indian restaurants however only received a side order size portion! Half the amount from other restaurants. Naan bread was poor too. Would not recommend.

Ordered first time through uber eats. Wouldn't order again the starter which was mixed starter was really greasy and our Samosa was soggy. Portions were not great size. Quite small. And our chicken curry main was overdone and dry. Shame as the reviews have been really good so maybe they were having a bad day.

I had placed a delivery several times and almost ALL my experiences with the delivery staff was horrible to say the least. Particularly with this delivery driver who drove a white BMW who is a delivery staff at this restaurant (as I was told by the manager). The delivery and hand-off experience was very bad, as the staff was very rude and patronizing. Talked to me in a very angry and rude tone, complaining to me about things such as the time I placed order to personal things about how he has a long drive home and how he could not find my place etc. Most recently, this particular staff refused to even give me my food by hand and left food at the pavement, even when I was promptly at my door. I was also greeted with more rude remarks, such as him shouting at me "look, look!" while pointing at my food. Its one big issue to be rude to your customers and its also another issue when you patronize your customers with rude and aggressive behaviours. I would never order or dine at this place again. This place left me feeling very uncomfortable and I have never seen this type of behaviour throughout years of ordering from and dining in various places. Reported this incident to the relevant authorities. I would not tolerate being patronized and neither should you.

Really nice food I have never been disappointed with anything I have eaten from here in my opinion the best curry about customer service could be a little bit better other than that great place to eat

Food was exactly what you would expect from a typical curry house. Plentiful and tasty. Could perhaps do with a more adventurous menu for vegetarians although I enjoyed thr vegetable buryani.

This is by far the best Indian takeaway we have had in a very long time. Fabulous flavours and not to oily. The only down side is they don’t deliver to Staines… but it’s well worth the drive to collect. 😊

Don’t complain at this place, if you do the owner will turn up at your door. Ordered some Naans and they was not what we ordered. Called to complain and was told that they was sorry and would send fresh ones out. As a customer was happy with this. Knock on the door and the owner has come to deliver and started to argue with my wife. How there was nothing wrong with them. When I have confronted him he has gone back into his car. So on a whole if you order from here don’t complain. Would never order from here again.

Food made in heaven, very tasty and good portions

Salad was in a bag and must have been pre prepared many hours / days prior and not checked before sending it. Lettuce was 'brown'... ...we also asked for x1 papadom and got 2 and was charged for x2. Also the samosa in the mixed grill was saturated in oil and all soggy after being sat together with meat.

I went to Megna with my wife Wednesday evening. We had a really lovely meal & enjoyed being able to eat in there again and have a couple of Cobra beers, rather than takeaways during shutdown .All the same staff & management are there fortunately as they are so attentive & friendly. The Megna never disappoints for food or an enjoyable visit.

Thought we'd try somewhere different. Checked reviews as a guide all of which very positive however when the food arrived it was very disappointing. Four pieces of chicken in each curry, both of which tasted the same, over sweet no flavour just cream, stale poppadoms and extremely greasy onion bhaji.Will definitely not be returning.

Once I the thought of an Indian meal I had to have one, so I went to the Megna Tandoori with my wife, Wed 9th Dec evening, as there isn't a better place for a curry. Our food was delicious, the service, friendly, prompt & efficient. We dine there very often & have never been disappointed during the many years we've been going there.

Having visited Megna most Sundays for the past four years I can safely say it is my favourite restaurant!The food is always delicious and service is never anything less than sublime. The staff are all courteous and kind never ceasing to make the experience even better. I can only sing Megna’s praises and say the staff there are more like friends than waiters, always checking to see how things are good.Thumbs up and 5*s is the least this restaurant deserves!

This was my first experience at Megna Tandoori. The staff greeted us with a friendly face and food was better than expected. The service was also great; our food arrived on time and our every need was met. However, when there I, along with the rest of the customers at the restaurant, were rudely disturbed when another group of about 5 customers, who seemed like students under the influence, decided to create a scene. From what I noticed, there was a dispute over service charge which resulted in an aggressive response from the customers. Seemed pathetic from them, really. Albeit, I was pleased with the food and service that I received and am sure to return soon. Its a shame someone had to create unnecessary drama and ruin the experience for the people around.

A group of friends and I are regular visitors at Megna, because it’s the only Indian place in the area, but also their food is (generally) brilliant, and it’s relatively affordable. However, there have been two or three occasions that have caused me to question whether I’ll be returning and after this evening I’ll never be going back.The food was perfectly fine, but the service from the small, slim waiter was truly terrible — not to mention he was wearing his mask on his chin with his mouth and nose exposed. At the time I’m writing this it is law for servers in restaurants to wear masks. When we were presented with the bill, we noticed that there was an extra £8.90 added. The bill specifically stated “SERVICE CHARGE NOT INCLUDED”. We assumed, as anybody would, that this was an error, so we each totalled up what we each owed and paid it. As the last person went to pay their segment of the bill, the waiter added an extra £8.90. We let him know that when added together, the total was £89, not the £98 he’d tried to charge us. He proceeded to tell us that this was a service charge automatically added for groups above four. Not the standard, groups above six, eight or ten as is the usual case in restaurants, but groups above FOUR. This was something we would have been willing to pay if we’d been told about it when we booked the table, but we had not been told about this and it even said on the bill, “SERVICE CHARGE NOT INCLUDED”. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he told us that the reason it said this on the bill was because he had “ran out of Tipex”. Surely, something so misleading could have easily been crossed out with a pen?Instead of admitting that this was misleading and doing the decent thing of letting us pay what we owed, he insisted we pay the amount he’d written down. He continued to be obnoxious, rude, and unprofessional. He insisted we pay the service charge, despite service charge being optional in the UK. Just to reiterate, nowhere in the restaurant does it state that service charge is compulsory for groups of four or above. I then reminded the waiter that service charge is effectively a reward for good service, and given that the waiter in question refused to wear his mask correctly, I did not feel the service was even satisfactory, let alone tip-worthy. He then decided it was appropriate to tell me I should be wearing a mask, despite the fact I was seated, at the table, with food in front of me. Following this he told me he knew me and all my friends, and instructed us never to come back. My boyfriend asked for the manager, he simply said, “I am the manager”. We were quite frankly shocked that somebody this incompetent, rude, and unprofessional could possibly run a restaurant. He then stormed off, so we spoke to the kind, calm and professional (masked) owner, who apologised for the poor service — as anybody else who works in a restaurant would. We were so disappointed with how we were treated that we shall never be returning. The poor owner of the restaurant is so sweet, it’s such a shame that the manager lets the entire restaurant down.

Went to Megna restaurant last Sunday 13th with my wife & family. The food was delicious as always & served by efficient friendly waiters who have become our friends over the many years we've dined there. All precautions as possible are in place to prevent the spread of Covid 19 virus with screens between each table & hand sanitisers etc. The Megna will always be our favourite Indian restaurant

Waited an hour and a half for a takeaway which wasn't complete, no apologies, got back to our accommodation and had to warm it up in the microwave because it was cold, wouldn't recommend

Went for a curry last night with my wife, this being the second time since they re-opened after having to close due the virus. The restaurant has been made safe as possible for their customers with plastic screening & sanitisers on every table. The food was delicious as always, & went down nicely with e bottle of house red wine which was reasonably priced. There were several regular customers like us taking advantage of the 50% mid week reduction deal The last time we went was a Saturday. so not included. .

I am a regular customer at the Megna Tandoori & have been for many years & usually have a meal there with my wife about twice a month never being disappointed. Obviously we can't go there due to the Corona virus so tried a takeaway last Saturday night 6th June which was really fresh hot & tasty, this we will do regularly until being allowed to return, hopefully soon.

I'd not been here for a while but made a reservation with a friend for a Sunday evening. The restaurant was packed. The food was really, really good! Better than the last time I visited. The Naga main dish was so fantastic. Lovely service as always. Top marks!

Very nice food. My recent visit was the best yet. The aloo chaat puree and Naga vegetable paneer were so flavoursome. Both dishes aren't on the menu, but the staff accommodated my request for these dishes. Both were 10 out of 10! Garlic naan was again so good, being one of the best I've tried. Tarka daal very good too. One member of staff is particularly helpful so I try and seek his attention when I want to order 😁 Sunday banquet night deal is a available during lunch and evening. £12.95 for starter, main, side, rice or naan of your choice.

I used to be a regular at Megna. I came out all the way from London to have dinner at Megna. The standard of the food is unchanged. It is superb. Great taste. Great range. Well priced. The service is so friendly - making the whole experience wonderful.

I have ordered countless takeaways and sometimes go sit in for the Sunday set menu. Food is always a high standard and the service is 5 stars... would recommend the vegetable tali and the Sunday set menu is amazing value for money. Only negative I have ever found is that coke can be a little flat but no where is perfect

Went to Megna Indian restaurant last night 20th Feb with my wife. We hadn't booked, but managed to get a table before it got busy. We have been regulars for many years & have never been disappointed with the service or delicious food. This is a lovely comfortable restaurant & our favourite place to eat in the village. Megna not only attracts locals, but others from further afield who appreciate proper well prepared Indian cuisine .We wouldn't consider eating at any other Indian restaurant around.
