I have only being going to this restaurant on a regular basis for 39 years, never had a disappointed meal, family business as you would expect, lovely people, and will continue to use the Taj, whilst I live in this area.

Best Indian meal tasted in ages and it was unanimously agreed by the whole group added bonus are the Car parking spaces nearby; must try to be fully appreciated

I have been coming here for 17 years and never ever had a bad meal. Always consistent, fresh , well cooked and fairly priced! The customer service is outstanding and unmatched, each and every member of staff are professional yet personable. I wish taj mahal many more years of good business ❤️

Best Bangladeshi restaurant in Surrey, which we regularly visit ,sometimes twice a month.The food is always fresh and the portions good.

Took my 2 boys here and they loved it! We had to park a way away as this is on a main road. We were the only people eating in the evening we went so service was swift, attentive and helpful. I wish I had taken pictures of the food but we were all hungry after a busy day at Thorpe park, food was an average sized dish which is great because we all get full on Indian food quickly and always leave loads. We took a variety of dishes from vegetarian, meat dishes, spicy and mild and cannot fault any. All dishes came super hot, well presented and most of all very tasty!! Definitely worth a visit and somewhere we would all go again!!

This has been open a long time, I have been going here for 25 years, still enjoyable. This is a traditional "curry house", not pretentious jus good honest food!

This spot is great if your looking for an authentic Indian experience 10/10 would definitely come again and hopefully soon!

Closes at 10pm . Arrived at 9:30 on a Friday evening. Was told it was to late as the chef goes home at 10pm.

2 main dishes ok, had to wait too long before rice came out. Veg curry side and potato side dish tasted like mayflower curry powder not Indian. It was ok but unfortunately wouldn't come back, waiter was not welcoming.. I don't think he even spoken to us, just rolled his eyes and would walk off and return with any requests just felt uncomfortable.

We were the only folks there but it was a Tues. Food was v good, prices were fair. Will definitely use Taj Mahal again

I visited yesterday with a few friends and from start to finish great service, very knowledgable in terms of what dish would be best suited for me. A lot of my friends and family dine in here on a regular basis, and I see why! Great evening and tasty food will be returning. Thanks for a lovely meal! Harry

For those that remember the old Taj sorry to say those days have gone. There was a local saying about the Taj " You never ever get a bad one" sadly that can't be said any more. The chef must have been changed. The food doesn't compare to what it once was. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not as good as it once was. With a tear in my eye I have to say There are others that perform better and is now no longer my first choice..

The food we received was of low quality. Starting with the onion bhaji's which looked like hockey pucks and we're greasy and bland. Next up Chicken Madras again lacking real flavour, chicken rubbery and the sauce not rich. King prawn korma with just 6 prawns and not very tasty, bland and watery Naan bread, slightly stale flavour and not good quality. Tarka Dahl, was really watery and no flavour at all. We were really looking forward to a nice Indian meal and we feel that this was really poor and not aligned with other ratings.

Simply the best Indian restaurant in the Surrey by far, hands down, no questions asked! The food is of immense quality and is always tasty and packed with authentic fantastic flavours all for very very reasonable prices, it simply is the best Indian restaurant in Surrey don't bother going to any other Indian restaurant in Surrey it's a waste of time and money the Taj Mahal is honestly that good! Special shout out to the friendly staff who work there as well.

I've lived in Weybridge and Addlestone for years and tried a number of places. This is by far the worst... Everytime we order the order is either a very small portion, taste strange or something is missing. Gave them a few chances but they still can't get it right. A number of my friends in the area also said the same... You're better off trying Mystica accross the road or the Gaylord in Weybridge, much better! Don't let the stars or reviews fool you, i fell for it myself!

Went for dinner here and absolutely tasteless food…ended up just paying for drink and left. Unfortunately the reviews are good here hence reason I tried but definitely doesn’t warrant 4.7 out of 5*

I've eaten here for 25 years and never EVER been disappointed. Friendly staff you can always have a laugh with. AMAZING quality food cooked by a superbly talented chef who will happily make something slightly different if you ask, removing nuts or making something spicier etc. I've moved away now, but it's one of the places I miss the most in the entire country!

They are still excercising caution as a result of covid but the food is still good.They have reduced their hour but is worth the visit.

We decided upon this restaurant as we were staying at the Thorpe Park hotel and wanted to dine out locally. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and welcoming. My children opted for the usual Chicken Tikka masala which they said was a really good one! My chicken naga was very tasty and nicely spiced with naga pickle. The vegetable sides were also very good and the nan breads were fresh and light and probably the best I've had. All in all an excellent choice for a very tasty curry.

The place has been serving lovely food for decades, hence it's still popular, even on a Monday evening. You can get cheaper food elsewhere, but I don't mind paying a little bit more to guarantee the quality of service

Authentic cuisine, fairly priced.

Often get food from here but the last few orderes i have got have got worst and worst. The dishes i got last night was absolute garbage and tasteless, and the meat was over cooked and chewy. This restaurant needs to up there game rapidly as there is much better local competition if they want to stay affloat in these tough times, i will not be wasting my money in there anymore.

Ordered a takeaway for my family of three on 28-11-20. Two birianis, Bhuna and rices. Bhuna missing, food all arrived cold on collection despite being less than 5 minutes from the restaurant. Birianis very greasy and oily, traditionally should be dry. All food lacked colour and flavour. Would not be using again.

Attention to biosecurity excellent, hand sanitizer available at the door, tables well spaced, staff wearing masks and maintaining their distance. All this plus the excellent standard of cuisine expected of the Taj Mahal, altogether a safe and enjoyable evening. I will go again anytime.

The Taj has taken on board all the recommendations of social distancing and if youre worried about the virus ,dont be and have a meal here. As always the food is tasty and well cooked and as a regular of more than 20 years plus it never disappoints. They are incredibly busy with takeaways and long may that continue too so that theyre around for a few more years to continue.

We visited not long after reopening and they were all geared up for guests, just mind the table with the hand sanitizer, i bumped into it twice. Food was good as always. It surprises me that people criticize this place, it is a traditional curry house, not a fancy attractive "place to be seen". Also why are generally the critics only people with less than 10 reviews?

First visit, my usual restaurant is still closed, I think this will be our regular place now as its walking distance, as we are fairly new to the area. Food very good 👍, price is good, the young waiter was very friendly and polite, made the visit extra 👌 nice, so i hope he reads this. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended, school of spice in Shepperton has my apologies as it has a serious competitor..

The absolute best curry house in the UK

This is the first Indian restaurant I ever went to and is what I judge all others against. Not fine dining by any stretch but your local curry house producing a great experience. So, yesterday evening I walked through the doors for the first time in 15 years after leaving the area. I was met by the same waiter as back then, he was older, I was older but he beamed at me and stuck out his hand. I was back! We were three, me, the wife and my 16 year old as a Birthday thing. Popadoms, prawn puri then chicken tikka rezala for me and Bangla beer. It was heaven, shame on a Thursday night that it was pretty quiet but new restaurants have popped up in the area. Love it, thanks for the memories

I am not going in to details of what we had to eat, it was all excellent. This was our first visit to this wonderful curry house and I had one of the best curries I have had in more years than I care to mention. A word of caution portions are very generous. It maybe a little while before I return here as I live in Spain, but rest assured that this restaurant will be on my list very near the top

As normal a really enjoyable experience. I read a couple of bad reviews and thought the ,worse, I guess I must be lucky because every time I go here, too many too mention, I have had a very good meal!My only regret is that I live too far away to go more often.

This place used to be great. However........., it has now gone down hill. I don’t know if their food supplier or chefs changed, but their food does not taste the same or look the same.Also it was definitely not fresh!Often I eat leftovers the following day - and never ever had a problem. But Taj Mahal’s food was off.When I tried to call to explain and give them an opportunity to rectify, they basically called me a liar.I’ve been eating curry all over the world for years - and I know a good fresh curry when I eat one!!!

We love this place best Indian in town.

I have only given this one star as zero is not an option.Worst curry going. Ordered a chicken damask, dont think this dish ever met a lentil. Just yellow oil that has no flavour. Even the boiled chicken didnt taste of chicken. Go to the red rose or spice lounge.

It’s a beautiful little restaurant with beautiful food but we usually get take away. They deliver in reasonable time. All the staff are lovely! the curry is beautiful, not too watery (like lots of places). Definitely give them a go if you’re considering!

The first and still the best curry house in addlestone, great waiter and great food

I visited here with a few colleagues from work for the first time in February. The service was excellent and they didn't mind us asking for more poppadum and chutney appetizers to start.I thoroughly enjoyed chicken tikka masala and there certainly weren't any complaints from my colleagues either.I would say it is good value for money, good service and very clean indeed.I would probably recommend parking in the Tesco car park as many of the side roads don't have parking. It is extremely close to Addlestone Railway Station, which could be a plus.

We have been going to the Taj Mahal for over 30 years and it’s never let us down. Food and service are always excellent. Others may come and go but the original is always the best.

Taj Mahal has changed little over the years. We have had take away and eaten in. The food is ok. I've had better and I've had worse. We go back as we prefer it marginally to others but that may be due to familiarity. I doubt you'd be disappointed likewise doubt you be wowed!

A legend! The Taj is an old school Tandoori which has offered consistently good food and excellent service for 30+ years. Always reasonably priced.

Addlestone, like many towns has a host of restaurants providing food from around the world, some come and go but the Taj Hahal has been around for over 20 years and is still the best south Asian food around.

Been coming here for 20 years and it's had it's ups and downs but is definately now the best Indian restaurant in the area, the food is fantastic and we would definately recommend it as you won't be disappointed,it's also very reasonably priced.

Actually going later but as a family and friends been eating here since 2007 love the food the staff Ali and Shah great and always able to modify a taste or most dishes to suit.

Been coming here for the past 30 years, the fact that the place has been open for so long speaks of its reputation. Very nice food and a good price. Staff always friendly. Recommended
