Have been coming here for 20+ years under the previous owners). Had a banquet night meal this week with friends, really faultless experience - staff were attentive and helpful, food was great, plates were hot, beer was nice, total price was really good. Well done guys, keep it up!

My brother and a group of his friends regularly meet here for a curry some travelling up from Portsmouth. I decided to join them and was not disappointed. The food was both delicious and sensibly portioned, the staff exceptionally polite and helpful. The table we were sat at was perhaps a little tight but I believe it was noticed and I am hopeful that when I return there'll be a little more space. I would definitely recommend the Raj though as the food was absolutely worth it. Value for money was also extremely good, with side dishes priced very honestly and the main courses and appropriate price for their quality.

I thought that last time we came, before the take over, it couldn't be topped, well, how wrong was I! The service was impeccable, they brought the food out in a great time, the food was EPIC! I genuinely cannot fault anything, oh, hold on, I'm too full! The food was so nice I couldn't leave anything and now I'm uncomfortable lol. Raj Durbar provided a great dining experience for me & my family. The food was flavourful and well-prepared, the service was friendly and Nirmala was very helpful & experienced, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for great Indian food.

The food is superb at this place but Saturday night is not the night to go as a twosome! With one rowdy ( though good-natured ) group in and mostly bigger groups it was a struggle to hear each other. I dont know if there was live music on ( We were in the area beyond the arch but there seemed to be some weird chords just being played and then stopped and then started again. ) It has always been an echoey place and I don't know if much can be done to change this. We were mistakenly given a spinach and cheese dish instead of the spinach and potato we'd ordered and it took me a while to realise....I just thought the potatoes were a bit soggy! It was willingly changed though. Service is much better since the revamp - and as I say the food is great.

Excellent service very tasty Korma and Madras too! The Mrs loved my Korma so much she said she would have ordered it rather than her Madras which she said was lovely too. Under new management apparently! Bill was much cheaper than we were expecting it to be. I would advise very strongly coming to try it out soon.

Didn’t know what to expect with Raj being replaced, but I was very pleasantly pleased! Nirmala is the best replacement we could have asked for with Raj retiring, happy to recommend or just hoping general conversation. The fear was there with a new team, but they have exceeded expectation and I am really excited to have them as part of the community

Met up with an long time friend and it's the first time I have visited the restaurant since the recent change of management. The staff were very patient and not pushing us into placing our food order although the restaurant was only 30% full so no real need to crack on. The food was excellent, I had chilling chicken and pilau rice with garlic nan and my friend had a mixed curry with special rice, we shared a bombay potato dish. All of our food was perfect and very generous portions and we were given a lovely hot plate each. The staff were very attentive and 3 of them all asked if our food was to our liking. The prices of the food here have increased slightly but mo more than other local restaurants and I will certainly recommend Raj Durbar. Great food thankyou.

I have used this restaurant for years although this is the 1st time since the recent change of management. The decor appears the same and the food and service were fantastic and perhaps a little over attentive as 3 members of staff all asked if our food was OK?. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Saturday evening and it did lack a little atmosphere but that was fine. The portions were generous and served hot on warm plates and my chilli chicken was beautiful, fluffy pillau rice and a perfect garlic naan bread. The bill with drinks was £50.00 which represents great value. Will visit again soon.

Visited this restaurant over the weekend and absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious! I had never been here before but will definitely be going back!

Try the Khosa masu. Its super delicious. Naans are super soft and with paneer its explosive especially when you need something hot. Will deff come again. See ya

This was our 3rd time eating here and can highly recommend. Each time we have tried different dishes and all of them have been delicious. The staff are so friendly and ambience great.

My family & I had been going to Raj Cuisine for as long as I can remember so were a little skeptical when we saw it had some under new ownership recently, however, we were pleasantly surprised and I feel some of the recent reviews are a little harsh! Food was still as delicious as ever and we enjoyed some of the new additions to the menu. The restaurant was rammed on a Saturday evening, so it had a lovely atmosphere, but did mean service was a little slower - nothing you would expect from a restaurant just finding its feet though. Prices have increased but nothing higher than those in other Indian restaurants in the area and it still feels fairly priced for the quality and portion size you receive. My family & I will continue to visit regularly to support a local business that has been a part of our life for years!

We’ve used Raj cuisine for many years and were always very happy. Went there this week, to try the new restaurant and was very happy with the whole experience. The restaurant was comfortable, the food was great, (yes, it’s a different menu, but still a good selection) and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be going back. Big thumbs up.👍

The review below is from many many months ago when still owned and operated as Raj Cuisine. The restaurant is now under new ownership with all new staff. Food was good, however the service left a lot of room for improvement. The prices have shot up, to way too high. Wine prices, cheapest was 8.95 now 18.95... food ordered was missing items which we never got and service very very slow, it was their opening weekend so let's hope it improves once they find their feet. This review is for the old Raj Cuisine.... Superb restaurant with excellent staff and service, cant wait to come back and enjoy one of your first class meals. Looking forward to seeing you soon lads. I had a takeaway from here tonight, it has changed hands, but also maybe there chef, the king prawn bufferfly was lumps of prawn in some sort of curry green mush, not like how a king prawn butterfly should be ... my chicken korma was in a orange sauce was not creamy or coconut or think sauce but runny ... chicken tikka masla was like in runny tomatoe and carrot soup no flavour at all ... the pompodoms were not crips like soggy... l feel like l wasted £40.00 . I may have to look for a different Indian restaurant... it was a shame because before it changed it use to be lovely ..

Absolutely Vile! The food was cold, the king prawn butterflys were overpowered with curry flavour, the mango chutney was pure liquid, the chicken korma was a bright orange colour instead of yellow, the chicken tikka masla sauce tasted like just blended tomatoes and carrot, the pomadoms were flimsy and overall the price for what it was is a rip off and needs to be better quality

Me & my family have been ordering from here, for as long as I can remember. However after tonight's order, I'm not sure I will be ordering from there again! I was informed that the restaurant has had some changes recently (to the menu & staff) and with those changes, it seems the way the food is prepared, is also different... not for the better either. Some items were also forgotten & when the restaurant was called, the restaurant had the cheek to ask if we wanted the missing items still or if we wanted it next time! Absolute cheek of it, of course we want what we've ordered?!? My family has known Raj (the owner) for a very long time, so they might not be as honest with a review. But if this is the new standard, I will be looking for a new favourite local restaurant!

Had a cheeky home delivery and it was perfect, delivered piping hot, balanced flavours and generous portions. Tried a new dish for us and it was amazing, chicken with garlic and mushrooms. Slightly hotter than a standard curry but tasted lovely. Try this restaurant you will not be disappointed and it's very reasonable.

Not pleasant food, didn’t eat any of my dinner I ordered chicken tikka tasted like sick, attempted to clean a dirty plate in front of the group. Do not go there

Ordered take away. After 80mins called for an ETA and was told driver has left with it. 40 minutes later no food and no answer from the restaurant!

Always been happy with Raj Cuisine, until tonight. After an hour and 20 min I called to find out ETA, told 10 to 15 mins, 30mins later called again told on route another 20mins still not arrived, called to cancel no answer. Order took 2hrs 45min to arrive. By which time everyone was past eating. Told delivery driver to take it back as I was no longer prepared to pay for it, he left it anyway.

First and last visit. I have never eaten such a salty chicken pasanda in my life and I have eaten quite a few. My husband's chicken Kashmiri tikka masala was also really salty and we left most of it. Needless to say we won't be returning

Food was great. Service was comical. Have the waiters been taught to count? Have they been taught to use trays? Prices are extremely reasonable.

We booked at short notice with 2 friends who were visiting us from Birmingham the curry capital. They were surprised how good the meal was and how reasonable the cost was

This has become our new favorite for a curry. Started having takeaways with friends and were struck by the excellent value for money and surprisingly good quality for the prices. Since then we have eaten in their restaurant and were again pleasantly surprised by the quality, quantity and value. And the venue itself is perfectly nice. Some relatives had been sniffy about it based on a past poor experience but I judge as I find and we have not been disappointed. I think one takeaway was missing one main dish out of the 6 we ordered which was annoying but it can happen to the best of places. Timing of deliveries can be a bit unreliable but so long as you allow for that you can always keep it in the oven for a short while until you're ready to eat. Curry doesn't deteriorate like many other types of food when being kept warm. I am over 60 and have eaten in the best places but nowadays I appreciate more, good value along with good quality. This place gives that. Recommended

This is my favourite Indian and had many good meals here in the past but sad to say tonight was disappointing. The chicken was quite hard and dry, the pilau rice was not light and fluffy as usual and had hard clumps of rice in it and suspect the nan bread had been reheated as it was burnt black around the edges and not soft and spongy but quite hard and crumbly. I would still venture back and give them another go as this is the first time I have not been happy with a meal served here but if it happens again it will be my last visit.

Got told on the phone to not order from them again, when asking for a refund due to food being 2 hours late, cold, missing part of it and soggy. This is disgusting behaviour, and will not be returning (as told to )

Have used this Rest for 10+ years. Very few concerns but poppadums missing from tonight’s delivery, Chicken Tikka Pathia tonight probably the best ever !

Have used The Raj for a while now. Used to use the ine is West Byfleet and found their prices high, even though the food is good. The Raf is about 50% of the cost and has a wider menu. Their use of spices and condiments is good and the food is very tasty considering how much cheaper it is. The only thing that gets me is how quiet it is, which I don’t understand. You can always park free of charge, which is way better than Woking, you won’t be disappointed, give it a try. The tropical Balti is a good mix of meats etc and in a very good sauce.

Always enjoy our meals here at the Raj. The best onions onion bharji are served here. Lots of choices on the menu and the bottles of wine are very reasonably priced. Sometines the service can be slow but the food is well worth the wait.

Normally get take away from Raj, it is mostly excellent there have been occasions when it is only good but it is normally our resturant of choice.

Had a lovely takeaway from Rogers friendly staff had a nice meal for my little granddaughter. She enjoys it. I had a lovely meal and the wife had a lovely will highly recommend value for money

Worst take away ever. Most of it went into the bin.

We have used the Raj for 16 years as both dine in and takeaway with only praise for their food which has always been of a consistently high quality, but tonight’s takeaway was absolutely awful. We had to hunt for the lamb in the lamb biryani and found 5 small pieces and the rice was so salty it was only barely edible in fact most of it went in the bin. The lamb Malay was similarly disappointing with the amount of the main ingredient - lamb - but was at least edible. Very disappointed. On a positive note the onion Bhajis were good.

Over an hour an 40 minutes for a take away. And it was mediocre. Very poor service. A shame as we used to enjoy food from there. We will not be ordering from there again. Advice: go elsewhere!

Very bad experience here over the weekend. Staff rude and miserable. Had to keep chasing them for dishes that we ordered. Not one please or thankyou....not even a smile. On of our dishes was left on the side for a ages to go cold. Sadly would not recommend dining here. Awful atmosphere

One of the poshest experience at such a jaw dropping price. The manager was such a sweet gentleman who gave the most amazing, rightly cooked dish.

The second and last time I dine at this restaurant. We waited 1 3/4 hours for the starter of samosas which was inedible due to it being frozen .. yes frozen in the middle. We then waited a further 40 mins for the mains which were again not hot and mine was completely the wrong order although I ate it as I wasn’t starving and couldn’t wait any longer.. it’s a shame because the food in the past was good but it seems they cannot handle the weekend and staff are not up to standard.. I wouldn’t have minded but other patrons got served well before us despite coming in a hour later than we did.. can’t recommend them any more!

So disappointed go on there web work out our meal came to 26.30 phone up to order and the bill came to 34 pounds I asked why then he worked it out again then it came to 30 pounds they need a new calculator or someone to who knows to add up

This has been hands down M y favourite curry house for years, having said that, just recently there has been a change in the quality of the food and detail of their order taking, they never seem to have enough staff in and get swamped with panic on phone orders and leave u on hold without even asking u if ok, ordered king prawn puri tonight and they forgot to put in the puri bread, there has been a change in the recipes of some of the dishes, particularly the chicken tikka masala, it used to be creamy and slightly Smokey, now it’s just more tomato generic type and doesn’t have the same flavour that made it stand out, probably a new chef, I get that restaurants are struggling and due to the times we live in corners can be cut but this curry house was the absolute best within 10 miles and sadly it seems to be on the decline, I hope they can take the feedback and go back to their old recipes, happy if they just up the price a bit to cover the costs as it was really that good, sad to see it go downhill over the last few months. Other than that I honestly think they’re tava gosht and chicken chilli garlic are some of the most flavoursome Currys I’ve ever tried. Come on guys, your better than this, up the game please.

Great food had the lamb nagaria, really tasty and spicy. Lot of restaurant dont make it spicy enough.
