Delicious food, lovely staff, should have snapped some photos but we were too busy enjoying our meal. Table at the window gave us a view of the seaside and sunset. Top restaurant, will definitely come back ✨❤️

What an incredible experience! I went as part of a large group booking and we were all very much welcomed, such a wonderful staff team, I think we laughed all night! We were attended to and engaged with throughout and each of the 18 people in the group commented on how incredibly delicious the meal was. Great people, great service and amazing food. I highly recommend ocean spice to anyone.

What a lovely experience, absolutely made my week! We came in to celebrate a birthday and staff members were extremely accommodating, helping us to set up the table, engaging and checking in on us often- to put a long story short they were wonderful! The food was brilliant and enjoyed all around, my meal in particular extremely lovely- both rich and creamy. The atmosphere was lively and culturally appreciative. Overall, we had a lovely evening full of accommodating staff, a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! Definitely will be returning in the future!

Food is absolutely delicious!!!My favourite Indian restaurant, we've ordered on many occasions for home delivery and dined in. Great table service and very welcoming our go to Indian can't fault it. Highly recommend Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Bhuna,Chicken Biriani, and Peshawari Naan👌

Truly amazing Indian food, with great service and good prices!

Terrible food. Never recommended.. Caught soar throat after having food from this restaurant. They mention it as Indian cuisine but it will be a shameful experience to seat in expecting authentic Indian cuisine.(most of dishes are similar to Bangladesh cuisine ) Been there once and the food made me to never go back. The poppadom served here was not fried in refined oil. The taste of unrefined oil used to hit tastebud evidently. Coming to the food, those chicken were soaked in food color making them to look so vibrant and pleasing where the color of food stayed in finger for 24 hours even after constant washing. Chickens were not cleaned properly and some of the chicken meats weren’t defrosted and it never tasted like a chicken meat. Staff do seem to be bit racial. Hygiene wise needs improvement too. The cutlery and serving plates were not upto the mark. May the sides and sauce tray which is served along with poppadam haven’t been introduced to water ever since it got out. so stained and refilled them over and over without washing them.

When I needed to contact them regarding a missing item it was delivered within 15 mins. It is the first time I have had an order item missing and was very impressed with the response. Thank you.

Food was ok but when our order arrived at the table, the waiter dumped all of our rice on our plates without asking. When I asked why he said it was their special service. People don't want all their rice on the plate in one go. And btw he wasn't the waiter he was the manager and we've ni idea why he did that. Must have taken a dislike to us. Will never go there again

Didnt even attempt to find where i live, just went back with the food. An hour later i received it and it was cold.

We had a takeaway via Deliveroo. We had Lemon Rice, Bindi Baji (excellent) and Lamb Tikka Jalfrezi The sauce itself was good but the lamb was so tough and full of fat and nerves we couldn't eat it. A pity as the rest of the meal was excellent.

Literally order from here all the time, even sat in the restraint a few times. Best quality curry we have had, can’t recommend it enough to friends and family. Staff are amazing and welcoming, delivery drivers are always kind & the food is amazing.

Such a baaad and horrible experience with the delivery. Ordered food through Uber eats while I was at work . But they turned up before the prompted time shows me in the app . And they tried to ring me while I was at work so unfortunately I couldn’t see the call or attend the phone . photo that I uploaded shows the reality of the staff there towards the customers .

Nice staff and very attentive, the food is different than what we've been used to, each of our dishes was sweet but spicy. Chicken tikka and lamb masala were both sweet, the naan was very tasty and the samosa was ok.

Was very quiet which is unusual as it's such a popular place I ordered take away was offered a beer free of charge whilst I waited great service fast food delicious as always 10 out of 10

The food was good, as we have eaten there before. However, a man in approached our table and started talking to us, he said he was a friend of the manager. He started to get a bit weird and passive aggressive. He was ushered away eventually by a man who I later found out was the manager. He said it was ok he was a friend of the family. It wasn't ok because the man came back halfway through our meal and started hassling us again, he got kind of aggressive and it really put us off dinner. He was escorted from the dining area. I asked to speak to the manager and complained about this guy, the manager didn't give a shit to be honest, just said we shouldn't encourage him. Very poor management. Sadly I would not go there again as the man was sitting outside when we left and started to shout at us. I suspect he will be in the restaurant again so beware!

We ordered a take away which was for 5 people. Got dishes we had not ordered and the ones we had ordered were much too spicy, we ordered particular dishes (Chicken Tikka Masalas x3) for there mildness. When we phoned we were offered to be sent the correct order and were told there were different spice levels for the Massala's, we have never encountered this before and when we ordered were never given this information. However, due to waiting for an hour we did not want to wait another hour as our child needed to eat. We ended up throwing away a lamb dish that we had not ordered, throwing away two of the chicken Masala's as they were much too spicy but luckily did get the korma which the child could eat. We have been regular patrons of this restaurant but will not order from there again as this is the second time in the last few weeks we have encountered problems, the last time we sat in the restaurant and the atmosphere had changed to what we were used to and the staff were very abrupt and rude. We were offered a 10% discount for our next meal but will not be taking up this offer.

Have eaten here twice in the last week . Food and service was spot on and reasonably priced . When ever we are in Hastings we will pay a visit

This family loves an Indian takeaway and this family as a united opinion, will never go anywhere else. These guys are so very friendly, we're always being sent the most wonderful complimentary dishes in addition to our orders. The brothers are warmly welcoming and there's no other Indian restaurant that matches the quality and taste that Ocean Spice offers. Very grateful!

Waited 3 hours for our delivery, when I rang up after 1 hour of waiting we were told it would be delivered within 5 -10 it wasn't, made another phone call was told internet down, then after waiting 3 hours rang again and asked for a refund and the manager put the phone down on me, he was very rude on the phone. We won't be ordering again.

Brilliant food every course was superb friendly and attentive staff I would say worth travelling for Best Indian meal I've had for years Good Value! Price above included wine. Note they have special banquet nights when even better value !

Incredibly rude person on the phone, tried to overcharge me for swapping items - chicken curry to phaal & keema naan to peshawari. Which they've done before but only by a few pounds, £7 over this time for similar/cheaper priced items. I ordered, but then cancelled as I didn't want to pay for food from someone so rude- I know I've previously been overcharged, but they were friendly and I wanted food. This time not only a bumped up price, but a very rude person. I could hear they were busy and he was stressed from the start, but please don't take it out on me. Also as a customer, (I understand customer service), you should be polite anything better than rude.

Going for a meal is supposed to be a treat, this wasn’t. After ordering from here for years this is the last time. Extremely rude staff ruined the atmosphere and rushed us to the point my grandad had to order the first thing he could see. Don’t support people who don’t respect there customers, avoid this place, they don’t deserve your money.

Delivery early, so no complaints however I ordered vegetable dhansak & rice with a bhaji as am veggie. Received a complimentary chicken dish in the bag.... A nice touch, but not for me! Food OK, but bit on the greasy side this time.

More oily and biryani is like fried rice worst taste. I am not going to order again .

Doesn’t feel fair to give the food a rating as I never received my order. Spoke on the phone with the restaurant to verify my address and phone number, and was not given much help other than being told it would arrive soon. A number that I presume was the delivery driver called me shortly after, and when I answered they hung up. Waited outside for an additional 20 minutes looking for the driver and the order never arrived.

A love/hate relationship with ocean spice, can’t fault the food, always enjoy their food but the delivery issues are always so hit and miss. I seems it was delivered to a different house tonight, so it ended up being over and hour late due to it needing to be re-cooked and redelivered, a simple phone call could have stopped it. Not the first time we’ve had delivery issues which is a shame as mentioned the food is generally very good

This is hands down one of the worst restaurants in Hastings. The food was a disaster, soaked in food coloring to the point where everything looked unnaturally red. There was no hint of the usual flavorful masalas, just an overpowering taste of artificial coloring. The naan arrived cold, which is unacceptable. The kebabs and tikka were extremely dry, making them difficult to chew. Even the mango lassi was disappointing, with a thin, watery texture that seemed to be just milk, lacking the expected creamy richness. Additionally, we had to endure a 40-50 minute wait for our food, which only added to the disappointment. I strongly advise against dining here.

Great food, delivered to us on time. The staff were all friendly and attentive (other than a complaining customer who was trying to pull a fast one!!) everything was brilliant 😊

Takeaway was late, the dishes were disgusting especially the biryani which had so many pieces of hard bark/spices and was too hot. Vegetable curry was hot and swimming with oil like the mild dhansak with loads of onions and no lentils. Message was unanswered. So avoid placing an order. Used to be a decent establishment.

I have used ocean spice for years always good food but the last few takeaway were not good today the chicken was so tough it was inedible ! Thats it won't be using them again gone down hill not using same suppliers or bad cook

This is the second time that I've ordered from Ocean spice I'll have to say I'm very impressed Great selection on their menu food turned up nice and hot good service all round had to ring up restaurant to check to make sure everything was okay and we're still on schedule . Because the delivery was very late (even though I live 2 minutes from the restaurant) it was cold and not at its best.

Gave me a delivery time of 6.40 to 7pm but arrived 7.45. I was sent a text at 7.10 to say it was on its way , had to phone at 7.30 to be told again that it was on its way.If you're running late please manage people's expectations.

Waited well over an hour of the supposed delivery time and when it turned up the food was stone cold!

delivered in good time and food was exceptionally good quality with a good variety of Indian cuisine available on menu in fact it was that good I'm considering going to the restaurant itself would highly recommend considering this is only my first order with this Indian takeaway restaurant.

Terrible Experience with Delivery and Customer Service I recently ordered takeout from this Indian restaurant and had an incredibly disappointing experience. Firstly, the delivery person threw the food at my door and dashed off without taking any payment. After returning ten minutes later, he demanded payment, but didn’t have any change and attempted to overcharge me by £7. When I asked for the total, he couldn’t provide it, which led to confusion and delays. Eventually, I had to scramble to find exact change while my food sat cold on the plate. Upon contacting the manager, who happened to be the owner’s daughter, I was met with indifference. She acknowledged the ongoing complaints about the delivery person’s attitude, but instead of offering a solution or compensation, she brushed off the issue, stating they were not responsible for their staff’s behavior. This lack of accountability and poor customer service left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied.

I ordered the veggie set meal and it was amazing . Brilliant variety and tofu too . Very happy will be ordering again

30 minutes late and starters were cold .Missing one portion of rice and one portion of Bombay potato. Very disappointing and totally ruined our experience. I hope this is a one off and not the sign of things to come. I expect a refund for the missing items.
