Bay Spice in Hastings

The food was great, tasty and there was more than enough for the two of us, the service was efficient and speedy for what was a busy Thursday night, would definitely recommend to other people that I know and will definitely be coming back again in the future.

Absolutely love this restaurant - the food is amazing everything is so tasty and delicious - the colours and presentation beautiful! The service is friendly and yet very professional. Just the perfect level of attention and care from staff. The restaurant itself is huge but is always very warm and cosy!

First time at this restaurant today and I can honestly say it was a fantastic experience; from the courtesy we received and the friendliness of staff to the most delicious food. We chose vegan and it was fantastic. This will be our go-to restaurant from now on! Please visit!

Absolutely loved everything. We were in town visiting for the weekend, looking for places to eat and came across Bay Spice on Google. We had the Sunday buffet menu which was excellent value. Can't recommend it highly enough

Consistently less than average Indian food. Bought take away. Every food was so bland, veg curry, was without any taste, paneer tikka dry and without any spice. I won’t be eating Bay Spice any time again soon. And the price was so expensive

A extensive menu and we'll cooked tasty food, pleasant surroundings, great service. All you need for a good evening out.

Pleasantly surprised on the quick, efficient and knowledgeable staff. The food arrived quick and was served on a hot plate. The quality of fresh ingredients gave the fantastic taste that made the whole meal thoroughly enjoyable. I will certainly visit again when next in Hastings.

Vastly overrated. Cannot relate to the positive reviews here. Went for the first time last week as heard good things and honestly cannot understand why. Food was mediocre at best. Too much salt in the biryani and vegetable samosa was the blandest i have ever tasted. Much better Currys in St Leonard's. Certainly will not be going back or recommending. Also expensive.

Held our staff Christmas meal here, for 28 people. Service was a bit hit and miss, at bit slow at times. Had to pay extra for takeaway for staff who were working the night shift and got charge an extra £6.50 per meal.on top of the set price of £25 per person and I had to do the deliveries myself, not sure how that works, but will be checking the receipt, something about cost price... You can do £25 per head to eat in, but you charge more to eat out?????? Most of our staff are Indian and they said they found the food sweet. Starters were a bit skimpy as were the mains. Starters has 4 small pieces of chicken, main meal had about 6, not even a full breast to be honest. Rice..... I had mushroom rice with A fried mushroom sliced on top!!!! Drinks are reasonably priced. Would I hold another event here..... No. However as an individual, or a small group things might be different. I would suggest that you try other alternatives before booking a large group event.

Absolutely fantastic Indian food here. Full of flavour and fresh. The service was absolutely spot on and they made Cauliflower Bhaji for me even though it's not on the menu. Only had takeaway from them before but it was a really nice atmosphere so would eat there again.

They are always nice and never get orders wrong the food is piping hot when you recieve it they go out of their way to remember who you are and your name excellent service

Saw the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Cosy atmospshere and not too busy when we went, which was bewteen 6:30-7:30pm on a Saturday evening. Great experience and the staff were very freindly and helpful.

My own vegan is tastier than their vegan Bhuna,dont get me wrong, i appreciate that they even have vegan options,but,sooo much is lacking:(it was dry,no oil,no flavour,no herbs,no spices,absolutely 0 tadte!like eating jar Bhuna with added green peas,cauliflower, tomatoes and potatoes,not interesting or appetising at all,samosas would have had more flavour. Its a true shame as vegan dishes are so awesome and flavoursame and enjoyable but this dish would put new vegan off their food for good

The food was great - The staff attitudes was brilliant - nothing was a hassle. Only down side was tables were a little on the small side.

Fantastic food. I had a takeaway vindaloo and the flavour and heat was perfect. Heat wasnt dumbed down like most. Rice and garlic naan 👌 I will be back for a sit down. Great job lads 👍

Food was good. Onion Bhajis were a little bit tasteless. The service was a bit odd. The waiters got the tables wrong a couple of times! Other than that, it was a pleasant experience

I had the vegetable handi as well as onion bhajis and a poppodum - all gluten free! The food was very nice and the service was also very friendly and efficient. I recommend this place.

Ordered a takeaway. I am really sorry to say that this has to be one of the blandest curry’s we have ever tasted. Called to explain that we were upset and not happy, to no avail. We spent £50 and are not happy.

One of the best Indian Restaurants I have ever been to. The food was excellent the staff were attentive ,proffesional and dedicated to their job. I have eaten in some of the best Indian restaurants in London ...this place beats them in every respect. I will be back for sure !

We had l lovely meal in Bay Spice last night, the food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Would highly recommend a visit!

Long wait, 1 hour and 20 minutes for salty poor quality food. Staff kept saying be here soon.. Not true. Waited 40inutes for wine glasses. Sat down at 6.20. Glass of wine at 7.10! Waited over an hour for 3 x childrens nuggets and chips at nearly £9.00 each. No ketchup, then when I left the restaurant to go and buy some it appeared as if by magic, too late I was in the hotel next door who provided me with a bowl of ketchup. If the staff have the audacity to write fake review on my comments, as they have on others, shame on you. We paid £240 for 5 adult meals and 3 children's meals, a lesson learnt. The older manager apologised, showed good manners, too little too late.

This restaurant offers dishes which are not on the usual Indian restaurant menu, all of which were very tasty. The staff took good care of us and our meals arrived promptly. They had also taken the trouble to mark the fact that it was a birthday celebration.

Cheese naan was brought late, seemed to be a naan with cheese spread inside so not sure if the delay was a diversionary tactic.

We had a takeaway X we was disappointed with our meal X the poppadoms didn't taste good may be the oil was old that they were fried in X the chicken Rogan was tough X onion bajee was greasy . The tarka fall was very watery . We had heard such good reviews of this restaurant, but we were so disappointed as we spent £59 for the 2 of us .

Great place and fun evening for my friend’s Birthday, but NO DISABLED access or ramp and one of my friends had a big operation on her leg last week so we had to lift her into restaurant as steep steps and again for toilet during the evening which was very difficult and painful for her.

I have been to this restaurant several times before. Food is average but OK. It is large so can often look rather empty. Last visit (2 people) was £56 (Including tip - No starter). This visit was £80 for about the same meal (Not including any tip). I had asked for a Jalfrezi to be vindaloo hot. As I always do. This time however a £1 charge appeared on the bill for this. I have never been charged at any other restaurant. That ensured no tip and I won't go back if this is how penny pinching they are.

We had a delicious meal in this restaurant tonight. We were (very surprisingly) addressed in Dutch upon arrival. We received good advice to make the right choice from the extensive menu. The service was friendly and polite. The food was very good. We regularly eat in Indian restaurants, but we had never eaten such delicious saag paneer. It is wonderful to sit on the terrace after a hot day with a cool breeze from the sea. In short, highly recommended!

Ordered a family takeaway from Bayspice. All of the food tasted really nice and was of good quality. Always reliable whether you're eating in or takeaway. Will definitely use again.

Bay Spice provides excellent Indian food, in my opinion. The duck is especially good. Delivery was on time using their website. The account using PayPal and only PayPal takes a few minutes. However, it all works fine with no IT glitches.

Nice experience, I read lots of comments about staff not friendly but by the looks of it they addressed it and all staff were super friendly and helpful , explained options for us in the menu. We tried the lamb biryani was great comes with rice and vegetables in great taste sauce . We also tried one of the chiefs specials was nice but didn’t like the amount of onions in it and need to add rice , we went for the pilau one was ok , but as a meal was costly . The garlic Nan was the best , freshly made and tasted great. Kids there is no specific kids menu , however there are some options such as fish and chips and sausages that could be for kids, expensive though compared to other options. We were offered loyalty card that gives 10% discount on our next visit, was nice gesture.

From Strat to finish a very pleasant experience. The staff were most welcome and attentive without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious and the complimentary Baileys at the end of the meal was most welcome. Good value for money too.

Fantastic food, great service, and lovely views

We didn't book - turned up on Father's day, it was really busy but they found us a table on the veranda and nothing was any bother. The service was brilliant as was the food. We were saying At The White Rock hotel so it was only a short stroll away so very convenient.

The service was absolutely shocking , not once did anybody ask how anything was nor did they ask when we had finished , the prices have doubled and the portions well I wouldn’t even say halved more like non existent , I am disappointed with how a nice family even was suppose to be , if the service was up to standard even half the standard of what we got the food would have then been I suppose adequate

Takeaway this evening. Meat samosas tasteless. Prawn Puree - prawns rubbery, bread sat on top of prawns sodden in sauce. Threw in bin. Tarka Dhal bland, rice bland and hard - binned both. All this for £29 via Uber 😫 If I had a choice I would have given no stars

Great atmosphere on a Tuesday evening due to proximity to the theatres which guarantees a good crowd. Extensive menu and difficult to choose from. Nice deco and layout, spacious and large. Food was tasty and generous, service was friendly so definitely recommended

This review is not about food as the food was normal but the service we got at this restaurant. Ordered our food everything was fine until I ordered an extra bread. Then staff serving us told me that it may take some time and we said OK. Then all of a sudden a very rude and ill mannered person came out and told us that we cannot order more bread as they are very busy with other customers and it will be a distraction for chefs working in the kitchen to make a bread again for us...wow..simply refused a request on my face...we never experienced such behaviour and attitudes by a restaurant staff anywhere in England. Will never recommend that restaurant to any of my company colleagues, friends and families frequently visiting Hastings. Never again.

Went on Saturday night , for a meal for 2 at £86 it’s overpriced , the food was tasteless and the mixed kebab for a starter literally was 4 pieces of meat that looked like they had taken it off some left over plates , definitely not somewhere I would go again

Best curry house in Hastings! It became my regular when I lived nearby and even now that I've moved further away, it's my go-to for Indian food. The food is continuously delicious whether you eat in or get takeout and the service is always fab.

Amazing restaurant. Never fails to impress. The food was delicious as usual. It’s my favourite Indian restaurant. and as a lover of good food I highly recommend it if your in Hastings. Location wise it’s on the seafront. Staff are always welcoming.

Visited this beautiful restaurant on a few days break away with my husband From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed by very friendly staff who cannot do enough to help you. The food was fantastic, large portions and beautifully presented Toilets…immaculate! Probably one of...

First time at this restaurant and not the best experience I’ve had. Staff mentioned I could only have two mains of each dish and more. Not one of each main, rice etc. to share. The chicken was very very chewy and inedible on the starter and main. Then I had vouchers to use and they refused that I could use all of them, and only took two off of me. I then proceeded to ask why can I not use them all and didn’t give me a valid reason and started becoming rude. Not going back.

First tine i have visited this restaurant. I must admit I did not find the staff particularly welcoming on this trip. The food, however, was very nice and tasty. It was on the expensive side, but plentiful and well presented. It was not wheelchair friendly as there were steps up to the door, but they might have a ramp. Inside the tables were quite close together so again, not too sure how wheelchair users would get on. It is very near the white rock theatre and because of its early opening time is a good place for a pre-show meal. There is generally free on street parking nearby too.

I found a tasteless kitchen...it's very strange but I didn't like it at all.

My friends and i booked a table for new years eve. When we got there, the restaurant was absolutely packed, so werent expecting anything special. Boy were we wrong. The food and staff were beyond amazing. I will return any time, and everyone i was with, could not agree more.

Me and my family went there for a birthday meal as it was my sister's partner's birthday,the food was excellent,service was great place was spotlessly clean plenty to choose from on the menu will definately go again,recommend to anyone who likes a good curry.

It was my first visit here with family who have been here before. It's almost opposite Hastings Pier so you can see the seafront if you get a window table. The staff here are better than any other Indian Restaurant I have visited. They brought us chilli sauce (which is not on the menu), explained the menu and some recipes. They are friendly but not in your face. The food was tasty and well presented. Highly recommend and I will revisit

10 out of 10! Food was amazing and the staff are friendly, welcoming and funny. Beautiful restaurant. Everything you could want in an Indian restaurant. I would happily travel the 60 miles to Hastings from where I live just to go to this restaurant again.

Came here a few months ago with my friends. The food tasted amazing! Honestly some of the best desi food that we have had. We asked if our dishes could be made extra spicy and the staff were more than happy to comply. If we lived local, we would definitely be visiting regularly 😊

Had a takeaway on Saturday night, delivered on time. Food was hot and delicious as usual. I even got a few extra poppadums which was a nice touch. Looking forward to our Boxing Day Lunch.
