Meghdoots Mystique Masala

Petworth, Chichester
07/02/2019: Best curry ever. Not the cheapest but good value and some delicious dishes. To me this is proper authentic curry. We were well looked after by the staff.
06/02/2019: The food is tasty but very expensive for what you get, poppadoms at 80 pence each you can buy a packet for £1. and chutney £1.40 and beer at £5 a pint, lamb biryani £11.95 for a very mediocre dish all main dishes at £9.95 or more and vegetables dishes at £5.95 or more and nothing stands out it’s ok but not worth the price.

Basmati Indian Restaurant Petworth

Petworth, Chichester, <20£
26/01/2019: Visited the restaurant midweek early evening with friends. This was our second visit having thoroughly enjoyed the first. We were not disappointed, after a warm welcome and plenty of time to study the menu we were then presented with an array of dishes, all of which were superb. I often find dishes from other restaurants are often overly salted or swimming in ghee. None of the dishes here suffered these traits. 100% satisfied, would recommend it highly.....quirky underground premises too!
26/12/2018: I have been here twice in quick succession and its been brilliant! it’s only 15 mins away from me so I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it!

Madhu Ban Tandoori Restaurant

East Wittering, Chichester, 20-30£
06/11/2018: We have been here several times and always enjoyed the food. Service was good at quiet times such as early evening. There is a sports bar next door and later evening the customers from there call in for food. If it is takeaway this is ok although we have heard them ask if they can borrow cutlery. If they were eating in they were constantly going in out out between courses to drink in the bar. This was very disturbing and spoilt our enjoyment of the place.
28/10/2018: We were late eating! 10.30. We walked in and there was one table finishing off. The waiter was lovely and friendly and recommended my friend his favourite curry, I can’t remember the name of it! Which she chose as she likes hot and spicy. We had popadums and usual garnishes which come with it. Starters onion bhajis and chicken tikka lovely flavours and not greasy. And chicken Bhuna with rice and a very good Nan. A bottle of wine, don’t go for house wine! All in all my friend loved her curry and I liked mine, good flavours. Will be back and reasonably priced.

India Gate

Chichester East, Chichester
23/01/2019: This is a fabulous restaurant serving Wonderfull Indian Food and drinks. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food is excellent. Comfortable seating friendly atmosphere.
19/11/2018: Met Friends here they had sorted the evening but had not booked!! So we waited 20 mins for a table on a Saturday night. The place was packed! Glad we did wait as the food was very good. Service was ok, considering it was so busy. I had the Chicken Tikka Flamby, excellent! The waiters could not do enough for us and apologised for our wait by presenting us with free brandies at the end of the night. One point that I thought was sad was a group of young lads ordered many beers and starters and then did a runner. Not clever! We will be back!

The Banyan

Easebourne, Chichester
31/12/2018: If you can put up with the aloof staff that tend to spend more time off the restaurant floor than on it, the quality of food is remarkably good and I have never been disappointed eating at the Banyan. The choice is a little limited but there is a small sacrifice for ensuring a memorable meal. The sting in the tail are the prices. I am very happy paying more for a high quality meal but the prices at the Banyan seem almost double what you'd pay elsewhere. Is the quality of the meal at the Banyan twice as high as elsewhere? "No". When you add in mediocre service, you leave the restaurant feeling disappointed.
15/12/2018: A welcome change to your typical Indian restaurant. However Banyan misses the mark. Very little atmosphere, disinterested staff, and high prices to boot!

India Gate at Kings Head

Chichester East, Chichester
03/12/2018: Received a lovely warm reception from the staff here. Took my son and daughter who were really made welcome here. The kids totally enjoyed desert too!!!
22/10/2018: Went here on a Monday night. Had the £12.95 deal-bargain! Lovely food, lovely staff. We will be back, thank you

Moonlight Tandoori

East Wittering, Chichester
12/10/2018: We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Moonlight for a curry. The service was warm and welcoming and we enjoyed the food. It was delicious! The food was a little slow to come out but was worth the wait - it was all clearly made fresh to order. The food was hot and served on hot plates which was great. The naan bread was just perfect! Having just got back from India I can highly recommend this for delicious traditional food. Thank you!
30/08/2018: Having visited several times recently the food is always good. I don't think I have seen a whole stuffed pepper on a menu as a starter - and it was good. The service is a bit slow and I have yet to taste one of the duck mains because they never seem to have any duck. We have always been able to get a table, but the place does appear to be popular.

Memories of India Bosham

Chichester North, Chichester
17/01/2019: Great Food, Great Atmosphere for this special music night. Very well organised, cracking atmosphere, curry and Buble - what is not to like!
08/12/2018: Nothing wrong with the food here but the staff were sullen and unfriendly. It may have been because we were just about the only people there (not a good sign) and we were stopping them going home (It was about 8pm (!) but they could at least pretend to appreciate our custom.

New asian spice

Selsey South, Chichester
10/02/2019: Great choice, fantastic flavoursome unique dishes. Always great food. Any issues always rectified, friendly staff and owner.
01/02/2019: Just moved to the area thought we would try takeaway. . . Ordered over the phone friendly staff said 40 to 45 mins delivery. . . 1 hr and 30 mins and a chase phone call our luke warm verging on cold takeaway arrives at full price! The food was not what you would expect with spices and heat etc. Would not recommend. Good luck if you do.

Old Cottage Indian

Chichester South, Chichester
11/02/2019: Nothing wrong with the food itself on the whole. However, I felt the aubergine side dish was almost raw. What let it down was that the food was served on cold plates so the food went cold really quickly.
23/01/2019: Visit this restaurant regularly. Early evening it’s easy to get a table, can be full later on. Attentive service and good food

04/01/2019: This was our first takeaway from Green Chilli as we normally use others . Masala Gate

Chichester East, Chichester
06/10/2016: Went for meal on Monday and the place is shut. Tried 'phoning no answer. So looks like the best curry house in Chichester is no more for the tome being.
05/10/2016: We ordered a late takeaway. Service was awful. food was ok, Chicken Tikka meat tasted like it had been defrosted quickly. Not great, complained, no refund, should have taken it back in apparently, instead of binning it.

Chichester East, Chichester
29/09/2018: By far the best curry in this area. Price and quality is better than any curry I have had...and I have had a few. Just been to cardamon bay in Bognor, sorry guys, curry house food is so much better. Tony
20/07/2018: We have used The Curry House for many years now and have never been disappointed. We always collect as they are fast and its cheaper to pay cash. Their Mardras and Korma are packed full of flavour! Friendly service too.
