Meghdoots Mystique Masala

Petworth, Chichester
05/11/2018: After reading other reviews and being told by locals how good it was we were quite disappointed, the lamb was quite tough, nothing out of the ordinary, been to many better.
04/11/2018: The general consensus of reviews capture what you need to know about this place and why you need to make time to dine here. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Be careful not to overface yourself by ordering too much. We found this lot too much for us - 1 special starter, 3 papadums w/ pickle tray, 2 mains, 2 breads, 1 side. 1 rice. We should have ditched 1 of the mains or been prepared to take the leftovers home, as they are happy to accommodate. Their Gerwürztraminer is decent version of this wine which traditionally partners well with spicy food. It’s all well priced, good value, good service too. The donut dessert is on point but may be a little oily for some palates. If you’re at all uncomfortable with aniseed, don’t be tempted with the closing, and beautiful looking, bowl you’re presented with.

Madhu Ban Tandoori Restaurant

East Wittering, Chichester, 20-30£
06/11/2018: We have been here several times and always enjoyed the food. Service was good at quiet times such as early evening. There is a sports bar next door and later evening the customers from there call in for food. If it is takeaway this is ok although we have heard them ask if they can borrow cutlery. If they were eating in they were constantly going in out out between courses to drink in the bar. This was very disturbing and spoilt our enjoyment of the place.
28/10/2018: We were late eating! 10.30. We walked in and there was one table finishing off. The waiter was lovely and friendly and recommended my friend his favourite curry, I can’t remember the name of it! Which she chose as she likes hot and spicy. We had popadums and usual garnishes which come with it. Starters onion bhajis and chicken tikka lovely flavours and not greasy. And chicken Bhuna with rice and a very good Nan. A bottle of wine, don’t go for house wine! All in all my friend loved her curry and I liked mine, good flavours. Will be back and reasonably priced.

The Banyan

Easebourne, Chichester
11/11/2018: Tasteful decor, tables are not crammed together which made a pleasant change. The menu is not your typical ‘curry house’ menu, but there is something for everyone. The food is as well presented as it is tasty. An absolute pleasure! The only downside is that we don’t live close enough to go every week! This place is definitely worth a visit.
27/10/2018: Delicious authentic Indian curries and our dietary needs were catered for. Quite quiet on the week night we went but nice atmosphere.

Basmati Indian Restaurant Petworth

Petworth, Chichester, <20£
16/10/2018: My regular Indian when I am in Petworth. Was last there in September and as usual it didn't disappoint Onion bajis are particularly worth it as a starter. All tastes catered for
29/09/2018: A charming restaurant. A warm greeting with quick service and the food was the best food that we have had in a long time. We decided last night to ditch our regular indian and transfer our allegiance to the Basmati. Thank you Guy's

India Gate

Chichester East, Chichester
07/11/2018: Called in here tonight for a curry whilst in Chichester for a visit and have always tended to come here because the food has always been excellent and the staff are very friendly and service was great. Never had a bad curry here and tonight as we left had a good conversation with a member of staff which all added to the experience
02/11/2018: We been here for family party we had some starters some main & rice & Nan .tandoori mix grill very nice .we are every one is very happy.we will back again soon

India Gate at Kings Head

Chichester East, Chichester
22/10/2018: Went here on a Monday night. Had the £12.95 deal-bargain! Lovely food, lovely staff. We will be back, thank you
25/09/2018: This Indian restaurant stands out from the crowd. The food is consistently good, each dish has it's own flavour, unlike other Indian restaurants where all the dishes look and taste similar apart from the heat and addition of peppers, onions, etc. Their prawn dansak is the best and much as I keep wanting to try other dishes I keep coming back to it. The staff are always very welcoming, friendly and efficient. I would thoroughly recommend.

Moonlight Tandoori

East Wittering, Chichester
12/10/2018: We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Moonlight for a curry. The service was warm and welcoming and we enjoyed the food. It was delicious! The food was a little slow to come out but was worth the wait - it was all clearly made fresh to order. The food was hot and served on hot plates which was great. The naan bread was just perfect! Having just got back from India I can highly recommend this for delicious traditional food. Thank you!
30/08/2018: Having visited several times recently the food is always good. I don't think I have seen a whole stuffed pepper on a menu as a starter - and it was good. The service is a bit slow and I have yet to taste one of the duck mains because they never seem to have any duck. We have always been able to get a table, but the place does appear to be popular.

Spicy Soul

Chichester East, Chichester
26/08/2018: Slightly out of town but the food here is worth it. Decent cooking with good ingredients replaces the standard oily, tough rubbish most curry houses seem to think we enjoy or rather, what 90% give you anyway. Poppadoms were crisp and fresh with good pickles served smartly, the naan tasted fresh (elsewhere often stale and refreshed and/or over crisped) and the okra and both main courses were really excellent. Service was good. I'd have given this place 5/5 if it hadn't been for the complete lack of any ambience. This could be improved easily since the decor is clean and modern. The dining tables were ranged down one side in a straight line facing another straight line of about 10 chairs clearly aimed at people waiting for take-aways, with another small table and chairs further down near the kitchen serving the same purpose. It was like having dinner in a hospital waiting room without even the entertainment of people coming and going.
14/08/2018: For all you curry lovers out there this is worth a visit. The food is cooked with true feeling by the owner giving your tastebuds a

Memories of India Bosham

Chichester North, Chichester
11/11/2018: Nice atmosphere Nice people I've driven past many a times and mean to visit So I did today and I'm glad I did Very well cooked foods Will go again
16/09/2018: Had a takeaway from here this week. Had a King Prawn dish (Jhinga Maacher Molai Curry) which was £11.95. Only to get it home and find there were just 4 Prawns! Really! Potatoes in the curry were like mashed potato. Bit of a sloppy mess really. Not the best curry Ive had! Shame because I have had a lot better here

New asian spice

Selsey South, Chichester
21/10/2018: Horrendous evening with family different waiters in last night they were rude very unapologetic and lack of care for anyone or anything. Waited 1 and half hours for starter and table not cleared all night eventually nearly 3 hours and mains arrived and hardly even warm when questioned the staff didn’t care and didn’t even say sorry disgusted
20/10/2018: Fantastic meal here with friends, staff and service really good , Mashud very helpful with advice of food , will definitely visit again

Old Cottage Indian

Chichester South, Chichester
24/10/2018: The fact the place was pretty much empty (on a Saturday night) was testament to what we experienced. The staff were helpful and attentive when needed, but not particularly engaging. There was distinct lack of atmosphere and ambience which really didn't help its cause. The food was below average, but in its favour the prices were low, which I think reflected fairly on what was actually served up. Wouldn't go again, unless I hear there's been a dramatic improvement in all areas.
25/09/2018: I had walked a long way n was hungry, so didn’t turn back n went out after the ‘u r not welcomed’ body language of the staff.

05/11/2018: This is the best chicken passanda ive had! And the veg rice is an absolute MUST. I order from here regularly and it is good value for money, always hot on arrival and speedy delivery! You wont be disappointed if you order from here.

Masala Gate

Chichester East, Chichester
06/10/2016: Went for meal on Monday and the place is shut. Tried 'phoning no answer. So looks like the best curry house in Chichester is no more for the tome being.
05/10/2016: We ordered a late takeaway. Service was awful. food was ok, Chicken Tikka meat tasted like it had been defrosted quickly. Not great, complained, no refund, should have taken it back in apparently, instead of binning it.

Curry House

Chichester East, Chichester
29/09/2018: By far the best curry in this area. Price and quality is better than any curry I have had...and I have had a few. Just been to cardamon bay in Bognor, sorry guys, curry house food is so much better. Tony
20/07/2018: We have used The Curry House for many years now and have never been disappointed. We always collect as they are fast and its cheaper to pay cash. Their Mardras and Korma are packed full of flavour! Friendly service too.
