Broke my vow of never eating an Indian from east wittering again, both are not good ! Got a take away last night from the new lee raj, food was piping hot and ready for collection on time, got it home, and that's where the disappointment started, the mixed biriani had the smallest amount and smallest pieces of meat the size and thickness of a 5p, the prawns were good but not many, the veg curry with it was like veg soup, the lamb curry the meat was tiny like dice, no taste, the special rice was good, I would rather the price go up and the quantity of meat increase, never again, again !!

Sorry this is not an authentic indian restaurant as they claim. The waiter was very ill mannered It was an empty restaurant and we were sat in a complete dark corner. The “indian” curry had celery in it😂. But it did not have salt.

Ordered food - driver never knocked or rang the doorbell and JustEat didn’t update to say when this had been delivered as the restaurant doesn’t support live tracking. When we found the food outside it was freezing cold and inedible. Appalling service and clearly the restaurant couldn’t be bothered to make sure it got to the customer safely! Avoid.

Dish appeared to be cooked from frozen. I ordered a can of coke zero 330ml and got a diet coke 150ml, still cots £1. I called to explain and got someone who nearly spoke English just repeating only diet and coke. Don't trust what read on the menu. Call and check. No refund or correction offered either.

The food containers had leaked inside the bag. Too much oil floating on top of the food. Burnt Nan Bread. Bonus is it you like KFC order there chips with are French fries and taste like KFC. Worst Indian ever had.

The manager needs to go on a crash cousre in customer service He treats staff rudely and customers aswel Basil faulty comes to mind But the food was superb.

Food was nice, the spicy curries were spicy and the garlic naan tasty. We were only 2 of 5 people in the place but that’s expected on a Wednesday in winter. The restaurant manager/front of house just didn’t seem to want us there. He was also in a baseball cap and hoodie while the rest of the staff were in normal uniform - sounds pedantic but kind of summed up how he felt about work. We ask for recommendations and just pointed at everything. We took a small portion home and they charged for a box and bag to take away which we found quite funny and ridiculous. Bit overpriced for what it was x2 curries, shared rice & naan and a couple of beers and a G&T….£70

Complete and utter joke of a place. Just charged me £6 for 1 poppadom and the accompanying chutney and pickles. Yes you read that right. Complete and utter contempt for the customer Hope you go bankrupt

My wife and I wanted an earl meal. We got into the restaurant at 5.30pm and we were the only customers. The service was superb. The food was outstanding and so much of it. It was probably the best Indian we have had in a long time. Really can’t wait to re visit.

Korma was like a bowl of dog water gross, wet, and not authentic, bland and really disgusting... honestly AVOID! Went back for a refund and used contactless but I think the guy just charged me for a new curry then refunded it immediately to keep the money I originally paid even though I didn't eat most of it and brought it back. Truly the worst in the area! Hope they go out of business

Absolute awful. All dishes were only lukewarm at best. The curry was literally 8 pieces of chicken in gravy and nothing else, and there was no flavour to it. The rice had shredded carrot which was bizarre. And lastly the chicken tikka cheese nan had no chesse. I definitely won't be ordering from them again.

Everything tasted great but it would be good if the vegetable curry was larger. Also there was no salad in the bag which was a shame.

Thought I'd give this place another go after some bad prawns a few years ago. They didn't disappoint! It turned up cold, looked like it was swimming in water and had no flavour. What a waist of money! Never ordering from here again

One of the worst tasting curries I’ve ever had!

Frequently visited and always happy to go back again.

I have written reviews before for this restaurant, previous one was negative. So to balance and be fair this one is positive, food very good, bang on time and hot, total opposite to last time when I said nevermore! Gave them another chance, worth it, hopefully going forward won't be case of luck on the day as it has been in the past.

Didn’t read the comments Food did not taste fresh, each mouthful was forced and the after taste wasn’t pleasant. Asked to collect at 17:25 was messaged at 17:10 to say ready so it was sitting around for 15 min

Nice food, shame about the attitude… Booked a table for 9:30 after being told 10pm was to late. Turned up on time and table wasn’t ready. We then didn’t order food or drinks until 10pm. When we did ask for drinks we was told to calm down and they had a full house. This was the first interaction with the staff. Food was really nice but the staff clearly didn’t want to be there and were pretty much the rudest I’ve ever experienced.

Fabulous food… speedy delivery… second order in three days for us. Shows how good it is!

Had a meal for 12 it was brilliant food and service

Think this is the worst Curry I have ever had. Had a chicken Korai and it was more like a week soup. No flavour and pure onion slop. The chick was nice in the dish but that’s all I can say. Never again !!!!!!

We visited on a Monday night hoping to enjoy the 5 course banquet night still currently being advertised on their website for £12.95. We were given menus which made no reference to this offer, when I enquired if they were still doing it I was told yes it’s still available but at a cost of £30.95 per person, which is massive increase on the advertised price!! We decided not to order the banquet and just choose our own dishes from the menu all of which were really good and everyone enjoyed. There were no complaints about the food at all, it just felt disappointing to not receive the advertised offer. The restaurant remained empty the whole time we were there so maybe Mondays are still a quiet night and they would benefit from advertising the banquet offer at a more sensible price.

I have moved in close by last year and tried out with a friend as my Birthday for first time I can not fault the service or quality of food it was 100% We both had a great meal and will recommend

I placed the order on just eat approx. an hour and a half in advance, asking for a call when the driver was about 5 minutes away so I could meet them. Come 6.50pm and the order showed as ‘on its way’. I went to the gate to meet the driver and came back after 20 minutes. Upon returning home the delivery then showed up as ‘enjoy your food’ at about 7.10pm. I called the restaurant and they said they had no record of the order at all. I have no idea how this could have happened so I placed a new order direct with the restaurant to be delivered. About 30 minutes later I received a call saying my (original) order was about 5 minutes away, I met the driver now 50 minutes late and asked as to how the delivery was so late and no courtesy call or just eat update was considered. I was met with ‘sorry, we are busy’. I did call the restaurant back and cancelled the secondary order, and was met with ‘ok bye’… I must say the food was delicious and warm, but ultimately not a great experience I’m afraid.

Not only is it the only place that doesn't stop serving food at 3 or 7pm in the whole of Wittering, but the food is fantastic - one of the best indians I've ever had (and I grew up near the curry mile, and now live near Brick Lane). The service is also excellent. They could improve their guide-dog policy though.

I am indian and tried this place, they should be shut down , I know might be wrong person cooking to serve us, but it is not right when customers are paying money to eat, I know they cannot get staff as they as still in France waiting for the next dingys

My usual weekly treat is normally excellent. Sadly, this week not so the potatoes in the Sag Aloo were so undercooked they were inedible. Very disappointed.

Really tasty excellent quality!

Best described as average. Not the same variety and quality as previously when it was The Moonlight. The sauces for the 3 very different dishes all looked similar tomato based sauces full of finely chopped onions. All tasted similar with variations in chilli powder based heat and sweetness. Quantity and taste of the tikka in the more expensive chicken tikka based dish was lacking. Man bread and poppadoms were nice. Overall an adequate meal but not standout.

We have use a few times and chicken is dry but last time got our food and it was cold. We won't be going back

What was delivered was very good. Unfortunately the starter was missing and a delay in delivery took the edge off. I will use them again but will pick it up.

Chicken shashlik was a bit short of chicken but very nice, over all very good.

We went again last night, 2nd time in 3 weeks. Great food and friendly service as always. Both Sumon and Lipon always ensure we are well looked after, they both have a good sense of humour which makes us feel welcome. Easily 5 stars for the food and service/friendliness. See you again soon!

Great food and attentive service. My wife commented that the chicken tikka saag was the best she had ever had and my mixed grill was great. Also lovely crisp onion bhajees and flavoursome mushroom rice backed it all up along with great nan, poppadoms and pickles as well as bombay also. Many thanks guys

Seriously this place is amazing ! Shuman is such a lovely guy who makes the best shots and makes you feel so welcome, the food is the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve eaten in alot of curry houses in London and Basingstoke) can’t recommend this place enough - give it a try , you won’t be sorry!

Awful The restaurant was empty except for one other table which should’ve rang alarm bells when everywhere else was fully booked .All our meals ,the chicken was so tough that we didn’t eat it , our friends curry was inedible as the flavouring was putrid ,Three of The dishes were cold . we complained about our meal and we were rudely told that nobody else has complained that night and that next time we went here they would knock some money off ,they really will NOT be a next time

Terrible experience. Birthday meal for four last night. Only one other table when we arrived and a couple came in later on, so not a busy evening. The waiter was impatient and borderline rude. The poppadoms and accompaniments were good. The naan breads were fantastic. The chicken in three of the curries was so tough, almost inedible. The sauce in one of the curries was so bland, together with the tough chicken, it was left. We spoke politely to the waiter who was not at all interested. After leaving two of the curries the waiter said he may be able to do something next time we visit. When we said that we would not be returning, we were offered one free coffee, which we declined. The music kept cutting out all evening, so staying on for coffee was definitely not an option. We got less than £5 discount off the bill for the horrible food and will never go back. Such a disappointment as we were all big fans of The Moonlight.

Been in this restaurant many times. It’s always very good, clean, nice staff. One of our favourite places. We often have a take away and the food is excellent.

Good flavour but chicken somewhat overcooked this time

Good overall, but some dishes much better than others. The Chicken Tikka Masala was quite sweet and heavy in coconut, which is why it did not score a 5 star rating.

Fantastic takeaway but staff so miserable. Such a shame

Arrived at opening time with a hungry toddler and were warmly welcomed. The food was all great, with very prompt service, and the staff were so good with my daughter. They didn’t even mind the unholy mess we made with the rice. Absolutely no idea what those complaining about tasteless food are on about. Ours was pretty much perfect. Tender chicken, well flavoured sauces and great naan bread. Ignore the reviewers with daft expectations and try it for yourself. Highly recommended.

One of the best curries I have ever had. Absolutely outstanding. First we had poppadoms, with a selection of sauces. My friend had chicken tikka masala, with pilau rice and a garlic naan and I had Raj Pata, which is Seabass or king prawns (I had Seabass) with lemon rice and a garlic naan. The restaurant itself had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with mellow Indian music in the background. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes curry, and did the following evening, and they loved it too. I will be back!!

Group of 6. All lovely curries, arrived promptly on a Friday evening and with no problems with orders. Would order again when in the area.

Bit disappointing, normally good but not this time. Chicken was chewy, nann bread was really dry, onion bhaji were like rocks. Shame.

Ordered meal for 6pm today. Was ready on time and they added nice dipping sauce, onion and poppadoms. The meal was hot and delicious. Will definitely go back

Our takeaway meal for five was disappointing with one dish missing. Chicken Shaslik was plain with no sauce and did not fit the description. Other dishes were plain and it was a disappointing experience. When we went to explain the following day the staff were unapologetic and no refund was offered.

Food was delivered 1 hour late and stone cold after me having to call the restaurant to find out where it was.

My wife and I arrived at 8pm on Sat night for our reserved table which was directly under the AC unit. The air flow was very strong and cold which would have made any food cold within seconds. We asked for it to be turned down, which they refused point blank. There was no choice but to order a takeaway instead. We saw that some tables were going to come free and asked if we could be seated. Again, a point blank refusal with some comment about other customers arriving. During the hour wait for our food, several tables cleared and no further customers arrived. This experience ruined our evening, the first time in months we were able to dine out. Got home with our food - my wife had tandoori chicken which was bland and dry. I tried an Ostrich curry, the sauce was nice, but no flavour to the meat. Got to say, the worse restaurant experience in several years. The staff were also rude and arrogant and had clearly lost control. NEVER AGAIN!
