Thyme & Chillies in Chichester

We had a fabulous Goan Night. The food was delicious and service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the Goan band that played good, ole favourite songs. Comes highly recommended from us.

We had a fantastic meal , The venison was amazing as were the prawn and chicken. There was the perfect balance of spice and flavour Would thouroughly recommend for an authentic experience

The restaurant is located along a quiet countryside but easy enough to find with any sat nav. Tuesday is Indian street food day though not my personal favourite they are well received by others. The restaurant can feel a bit crowded and it's always busy/full, not the cheapest place but definitely a popular one.

Really nice food. Quite possibly the best Indian I have ever had. Went with a party of 5 for lunch. Had starters and mains, no room for pudding. The portions were really generous and really well presented too.Starters we had Trianga Chicken which is good as you get to have a selection of the different Tandoori chicken, the bhajis (5 in a portion) also really nice, then the Chefs Special calamari. Again really good. For main I had the Duck curry from the specials, my friends had the Seafood Mollie curry which they really rated as well as the Chicken and Lamb shank. The sides were also top notch, the rice was very fluffy and the sides themself were equally as good as the main. Shahi Panner is what I would have if I were vegetarian. Really nice. Bread basket is a must as you can try the different breads, Peshwari Naan, Garlic naan and a Roti. All in all well worth the trip, its a bit of a trek so you have to have a designated driver, or a cab. But as I said, a must go. Even the Poppadoms were good.... Thanks guys.

A real gem of a restaurant! We were looking for somewhere which served more authentic Indian food and this restaurant did not disappoint. The chaat starters were amazing and the only time I’ve eaten an Indian in the UK which genuinely transported me back to holidays in India. The service is impeccable with great attention to detail with friendly and accommodating staff. I would recommend Thyme & Chillies without hesitation and will definitely return soon.

If you haven’t been here, it’s a must! Outstanding food and brilliant service, can’t wait to go back. A total mouth watering experience!

What an amazing place, the service and food is sublime and not to be missed. We were greeted like we were family and the amazing service continued from there. I can highly recommend the Venison Chill Fry on the specials board which was simply perfect and a flavour sensation. We shall definitely retuning soon and thank you again Team Thyme & Chilli.

We’ve just moved down to Birdham and have been to Thyme & Chilies twice in a week! The best Indian food I’ve ever tasted and such friendly staff. Definitely recommend it.

Tuvimos una buena comida celebrando un cumpleaños de amigos y fueron amables y trajeron un pastel de chocolate con vela que era muy agradable solo un poco demasiado para terminar, pero rico y chocolatero tan agradable y también estaban haciendo una noche Dosa y nos dejaron tener uno en la casa cuando había mostrado interés en ella y ya habíamos pedido entrantes, así que trajeron uno a la mesa y tres de nosotros lo compartimos para tener una muestra de ella - no tenían que hacer eso, pero era agradable y apreciado. Personal amable y comprobado por el gerente y una señora muy amable que también es probable que sea gerente muy agradable y asegurándose de que tuvimos una buena noche - ir a probar, tuvimos una comida encantadora y fue una buena noche.

6 de nosotros estábamos pasando un fin de semana en un AirBnb cerca de Birdham. Queríamos tener un curry, pero no queríamos conducir, así que planeamos tener una comida para llevar. Lourenco en el restaurante sugirió que deberíamos experimentar su "Chef en casa". Pensamos que era una gran idea. Avenida el chef llegó tarde para revisar la cocina y todo el equipo. Decidir si se necesitaba algo. Volvió con la comida y los ingredientes que habíamos pedido. Coloque la mesa para nosotros y nos sirvió la comida más fantástica, limpiado después y dejó la cocina impecable. Fue una verdadera experiencia india a nuestro ritmo y muy recomendable.

Nice curry, good flavour. Out the way but worth the drive.

Bit of a surpise... chosen as a handy halfway house to meet. But Monday night special - a full tray of small dishes - was fabulous, just the right quality and flavours Will go again!! Staff friendly and helpful.

Not a lot to distinguish between the different dishes (4). The Chilli paneer tasted like it was sweet and sour from a Chinese. Don’t understand the five star ratings.

Wow! This is what I call real Indian food! It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. We are visitors to this town, and it was worth the long travel. Every single dish tasted so rich and well made with diverse flavours. They made my mum's birthday extra special, and she really enjoyed her chocolate cake at the end. THANK YOU! The staff were so hospitable and welcoming. Before going, I tried book the table over the phone, but the connection was bad. The staff made sure to keep calling me back to book and secure our table, which was so nice of them as they are a very busy restaurant. Me family had a wonderful experience.

If I could give 6 stars I would! Thank you for making my mum's birthday extra special. The flavours and service was amazing, us londoners will definitely be missing this one.

We visited this place the last time we were in the area 2 years ago and loved it so much that we had to come back. We visited this time to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint. The food is utterly delicious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend enough!

New South Indian Tuesday night was superb. 2 chefs , one from Delhi one from Kerala , front of house making delicious masala dosas , explaining what ingredients they are using. Engaging , talking with great pride about their work. The Dosas and accompanying chutneys were delicious , authentic and healthy . As always, in our experience , the staff here were genuinely welcoming , knowledgeable and a delight to communicate with. The Indian street food selections were equally as good

It was our first time visiting Thyme & Chillis and it definitely won’t be our last. Both my parents and I all agreed that it was the best Indian food we’d had in the UK. It was fresh, so flavourful and not greasy at all. Really high quality. We recently went to the Michellin starred Jamavar in Mayfair and our food at Thyme & Chillis was so much better.

So me and my partner have been scouting about on our days off. If you fancy proper authentic (but sort of familiar menu) Thyme and Chili in Birdham (near Bosham, West Wittering) is a real treasure. You get the standard anglicised menus but with real authentic flavours. I would say I prefer this to Permit Room / Dishoom and it's so cheap. Service is amazing. We've been here 4 times over the last 2 years. But the owner greets us like long list friends. The service is impeccable, free parking and truly breathtaking countryside. We've been having a few restaurant disasters of late. Places we usually love but the food has been unusually bad. It's great to see a little independent being consistent and truly lovely. Thoroughly recommended. We are going back this week.

What a fantastic find on our way home from West Wittering beach. The friendly staff found us a table even though we hadn’t booked. The food was first class, fresh with individual flavours and very generous portions. The manager or owner was so friendly to my wife and young child. We could not recommend this restaurant enough. We will return with the whole family on our next trip to the coast. Thank you

I am customer for this restaurant from the opening I visit the restaurant on few occasions and I am ordering takeaway very often because the food was authentic and tasty. Unfortunatelly last evening myself and my guests were let down and disappointed from the quality of the dishes we ordered. All of them were equally very spicy some of them not able to eat.Not much flavour only spicy,which is very unusual for this restaurant looks like the chef is new and do not make difference between spicy and flavour. We very like Indian cuisine very much and this experience spoiled our evening.

Being an Indian from Delhi, it’s been so difficult to find authentic Indian cuisine down south. But the food at Thyme & Chillies reminds me of Delhi restaurant food every single time, which is why I travel about 20 miles to come here for a meal almost every other week. The vegetarian food is excellent! The staff is lovely and they give personal attention to the patrons no matter how busy they are. It really feels like I’m in India whenever I visit and I can even speak to the staff in Hindi, it’s perfect! Also, they can be very busy, even on weekday evenings, so best to pre-book.

Come here every year and will continue to come for many more

Yesterday we visited this restaurant with full family with my two little kids. Staff were very friendly. Specially manager was very nice and helpful. Food quality and quantity was excellent. And thank you so much for those complimentary drinks. Now it will be the favourite spot for us whenever we will go to that side. Excellent food by Chef and superb service by Mr. Louranco. I ordered chicken chettinad and goat curry. Perfect spice level as desired. Desserts were mouthwatering. Would love to visit again.

Had the goat curry last night on manager's recommendation, as good as any goat curry I've had in India. T&C never disappoints, will continue to drive 30 mins from West Chiltington.

Lovely Indian restaurant in a lovely (if not slightly bizarre) location. Everytime we've been there we've had good service and great food. I would advise booking in advance, especially on the weekend. Highly recommend.

We've just had the lunch set menu at £13 per person. The food was outstanding value and delicious. Tables had flowers and beautiful white table cloths. The staff were attentive, polite, friendly and very efficient. We had such a lovely experience. Can't wait to visit again.

Great location, a converted pub so it has a bit of an old English / Indian fusion atmosphere. We ordered starters (samosa chaat) and mains (daal, biriyani) and for me personally the food all seemed a bit mild and shall we say accustomed to western palate… for me the dishes didn’t feel authentic and felt quite modified. I would have preferred a bit more of a kick across all the dishes. But generally the dishes were well-cooked and very nicely presented.

Absolutely amazing food! Being Indian myself I thought the food was very authentic and tasty. We are on holiday and craved home cooked food which is exactly what we got. The place is a lovely setting and spotlessly keen. The ambience was ruined by staff talking loudly between the restaurant and kitchen area which suggests they are not concerned with the customers experience and enjoyment (very noticeable as it was fairly quiet). The food was just ok, we wouldn't return or recommend unfortunately.

Beautifully cooked food, a great menu, and excellent service. We enjoyed our meal here very much. We live in Surrey and will come here again when next we are in the Chichester or Bognor area. Would strongly recommend

A very nice Indian restaurant with good ambience and great food. Menu had good choices and had specials for the day as well. In the middle of the country but well worth multiple visits. Great food and free parking. They need to reopen their Chichester restaurant, which has been closed several weeks for "refurbishment", as soon as possible!

Wonderful meal! After a poor experience in our hotel we came here for dinner. Antonio and Lourenco were amazing and gave us the best welcome. They chose our menu and the food was out of this world. Best curry I’ve eaten. Thank you!
