Thyme & Chillies in Chichester

Had a nice meal celebrating a friends birthday and they were kind and brought a chocolate cake out with candle which was very nice just a little too much to finish but rich and chocolatey so nice and also they were doing a Dosa evening and let us have one on the house when I had shown interest in it and we had already ordered starters so they brought one over to the table and three of us shared it to have a sample of it - they did not need to do that but it was nice and appreciated. Friendly staff and checked by Manager and a very friendly lady who also is likely to be Manageress very pleasant and making sure we had a nice evening - go try, we had a lovely meal and it was a nice evening.

6 of us were spending a weekend in an AirBnb close to Birdham. We wanted to have a curry but didn't want to drive so planned to have a takeaway. Lourenco at the restaurant suggested we should experience their'Chef at home'. We thought this was great idea. Avenida the chef arrived late afternoon to check the kitchen and all the equipment. Deciding if anything was needed. He returned with the food and ingredients we had ordered. Set the table for us and served us the most fantastic meal, cleaned up afterwards and left the kitchen spotless. It was a true Indian experience at our pace and highly recommended.

WE HAD THE MOST AMAZING INDIAN FOOD FROM THYME AND CHILLIES. IT WAS ALL PERFECTLY HOT (HEAT) AND VERY FLAVOURSOME. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO IS VISITING OR LIVING THE AREA TO TRY THE RESTAURANT....

This restaurant is first class in every way. Our meal was delicious. Good presentation and sensible portions. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and attractive. The staff so welcoming and friendly. Can't wait to return.

We ordered a takeaway from here, not expecting much, but the meal was utterly stupendous. All dishes were fab, including the butter chicken, lamb, fish curry, dal makhani, and amazing naans. Highly recommended!!

Have been looking for a authentic curry house in the area for a long time and have now ticked the box. From service to eating everthing was perfect. Everyone of our 6 party had something different and we were all delighted with what we each had. Will now be our regular eating place. Many thanks to all the very polite and happy staff.

Have driven past this restaurant so many times when visiting family and decided to give it a go… AMAZING! The service was great and the food was the nicest I have had for a very long time. Everything tasted fresh and was presented nicely. Already thinking about when we can go back!

Thyme and Chillies gets good reviews. Our neighbours like it and we finally found the time to go. What a disappointment! This restaurant is serving your standard "English" Indian. Nice enough but dumbed down flavour wise. The food I've eaten in India and in the homes of my friends of Indian, Bangladeshi and Parkistani heritage tastes nothing like the dishes we ate at Thyme and Chillies. My own curries taste better. I do not believe that any of the dishes are cooked from scratch. They can't be. The food comes too quickly. The service started OK (if a bit pushy) but it ended badly. It took us half an hour to get the bill. Almost £100 for two people with little alcohol is expensive. Perhaps this restaurant has gone down hill? Who knows. We shan't be going back. Such a shame that the Banyan Tree up the Downs closed. That really did serve authentic Indian food.

Just had a lovely meal using their of 2 mains for the price of one on a Monday evening. Excellent value and great food and service.

Staying nearby at the excellent Quay quarters this was our first visit to the restaurant. We are vegetarians and there are a plethora of dishes to try. We ordered five vegetarian side dishes and some rice and mixed and matched. Cooking is exceptionally good and the service attentive and very professional. I had mentioned in the booking that it was my wife’s birthday and no doubt inspired by the heats of the Eurovision Song contest which was on at the same time three members of staff came out and sang happy birthday to her bringing out an Indian dessert with a candle.. I only wish I had recorded her reaction it was a classic. To be honest without sounding ungrateful their cooking is a lot better than their singing.

The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service is always top-notch. From the delicious naan bread to the flavorful curries, every dish is expertly prepared and bursting with authentic Indian flavors. I highly recommend trying their tandoori dishes, as they are incredibly tender and flavorful. Overall, a visit to this restaurant is a culinary delight that will have you coming back for more.

We have been to this restaurant numerous times and find the food and staff to be very good. Just a heads up to those that may be thinking of availing themselves of the 2 for1 offer on Mondays in May. We received an email with the offer code and made a reservation but were told that there were no more 2 for 1 tables available. I know it was our choice but we decided to go ahead anyway. I would say that the restaurant was only about half full and what was particularly galling was hearing other couples saying how good the offer was! Added to which there is a big blackboard outside the restaurant promoting the offer. In my eyes you either run the offer or you don’t, there were no exclusions on the email.

Beautiful food and very affordable lunch menu. Staff efficient, friendly and very polite. Table cloths and flowers on table. Can't fault anything. Can't wait yo ho again.

If you love Indian food, as I do, then this is a must in this area. The staff is very welcoming, the setting lovely and the food is what you expect in an Indian restaurant, delicious, colourful, tasty. Service is good, the ambience lovely. We went twice in a row and were not disappointed and we'll be back.

Went with a group of friends for one of our regular nights out. We had a table for 10 which was in a nice location in the conservatory/extension area where we could dine comfortably. We had a really warm welcome on arrival. The service is exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was really great with generous portions. Highly recommended. Loads of parking.

Best Indian I've had for ages. Absolutely delicious. This restaurant, in a former roadside pub, outside a village, is a real find. The staff lovely, the service swift, the mango lassi creamy. This is the curry house to pick if you are visiting Itchenor and the Witterings.

I recently dined at this Restaurant with my Family. Firstly, I researched and found that they have a lot of food choices in their menu, and the reservation was easy to make, The customer service was outstanding, The ambiance was great, and the food definitely lived up to my expectations and the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating our special requests too. I was so pleased with the service I received. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was slow and bad service a jug of water took 45 minutes I’ve been waiting 2 hours for my food and it’s not even busy the menu had very limited options and my food just got here and my order is wrong
