The Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant in Rother

First time visited this lovely cosy restaurant. Got a warm welcome and great service and the food was wonderful and freshly cooked.

The food was good the only thing I would complain about is two weeks now the nan has turned up burnt so what’s happening in the kitchen there?

it was a tiny bit late but wasn't a problem, I was notified by them and given a free item, always happy with their food and service

wow! yet again a fantastic meal from The Taj. tried the Shashlik Chicken chilli masala - it was so tasty. This place has never failed to impress.

Fantastic food, delicious and very succulent

Tried something new this time; and the quality was just as good. The flavours are amazing whilst the cook quality is excellent. I do intend on eating in the restaurant, simply so I can thank them personally for such great, consistently high quality food.

Notification of courier on the way wasn't correct but was delivered slightly after estimated time given when ordered. Food was excellent and hot and I'll be going back here for my next takeaway

Unfortunately the whole order was terrible. The chicken was burnt and tough and the bread was burnt and completely inedible.

I hate to leave a bad review as the food here is usually very good. The last order we had was not quite up to the usual standard but this order today was awful. Most of the meat seemed like it had been cooked yesterday, two of the side dishes were good but everything else was poor. Lots of it has gone in the bin and I’m just about to make some cheese sandwiches. Very disappointed.

Great food, just a little late on the delivery

Some of the best food we’ve had in ages. Tasty, filling; a pleasure to eat. We had a wide variety from the menu and found it all delightful. Not a solo event; I tried them a while back and so liked the food that I recommended in this occasion. Everyone agreed that it was one of the best.

Sorry to say that although the food was lovely it took 2 hours to arrive. I had to call them twice. Consequently I had indigestion all night through eating too late. Also they said they would give a £10 voucher as compensation but I never git that. Not that I’m sure I’d order from them again even tho the food is good. They shouldn’t accept orders they can’t realistically fulfil.

We ordered at 6.30pm and the food arrived (after calling twice) at 8.30pm!! The original time given was 45mins?! Our children were absolutely starving and ended up having a really late night (which we are really paying for today 😩) and we went to bed with indigestion and feeling very fed up indeed. We were offered a £10 voucher but we weren’t actually given one!!!! We will never order a delivery from here again sadly, despite the food being good.

I had lamb bhuna and the meat was very tender, and the saag rice was so tasty..thank you

Absolutely fantastic food, cannot fault it. Proper paneer as well, just delicious. Delivery driver is a really nice guy as well.

Yet another top class meal, never a doubt about the quality and great portion size.

One of the best vegetable Dhansaks I have ever had! No huge vegetables to chomp through, beautiful balance of flavours; everything was gorgeous. Definitely will be trying from here again - hopefully soon!

Food kept getting delayed. Called them and no apology. You gotta wait or you can cancel. Very bad service. Food 2 hours late. They should not have taken the order if they were that backed up.

The food was amazing but we ordered at 19.40 and the delivery estimate was 20.20 - 20.40 at the time. Every time I checked, the delivery estimate was put back. I eventually called and our food was eventually delivered at 21.15. However, it tasted very good and it was hot.

Called after 2 hours was told they only had 2 drivers (Saturday night) and next time I should order direct as its cheaper. Ordered at 6.07 (delivery time quoted 6.40-6.50) food arrived at 8.10. Very unimpressed. Won't use again

Lovely food! Came quickly and hot. The curries were distinctive, with loads of flavour. I felt it was a lot fresher tasting than our usual Indian takeaway with plenty of spice. Lots of prawns in the king prawn curry and they were either fresh or just frozen ones incredibly well-cooked. Will definitely order again.

Placed order at 5.30 for delivery at 8.30. Still turned up 45 minutes late. Restaurant excuse..we're really busy. OK, but regardless of how busy you are, at 5.30 you knew you had to make a delivery at 8.30. Time management. Not rocket science.

Order placed on just eat at 5.30 for delivery at 8.30. Apparently this is not enough notice to deliver on time.
