This was our go to take out for the best chicken balti and service locally for more years than I can remember, then last year something changed? New ownership? New chef? September 24 we ordered our normal and christ know what they sent out, but it wasn't a balti, we called to let them know only to pretty much be called liars, even though we had been regular customers for years. They did replaced the curry after more fuss then there ever should have been and the replacement curry was on par, but not as good as there was a slightly bitter taste in my mouth after the customer service (we had never had cause to complain previously). Mistakes happen and early November we decided to order again, and low and behold the wrong order came out again!! After our last encounter of their customer service the curry was binned and a vow not to return. Such a shame as we have mot been able to find a curry that matched their one we had enjoyed for many years. Devoted customers to zero customers unfortunately.

The staff are brilliant and very knowledgeable about the menu, The food was brilliant in flavour and presentation, I will be happy to return again.

Absolute best Indian takeaway I've eaten highly recommend the Chicken shatkora dansak beautiful flavours and perfect amount of spice will definitely order again free delivery charge aswell. thankyou for a lovely meal.

My compliments to the chef. This meal was absolutely fantastic. Everything was piping hot and the flavour and quality was the best I’ve tried. Even the garlic rice, it’s the best I’ve tried.

This WAS our go to take out fir years - not anymore. Expect to wait over and hour and a half for your food - not a problem if you're prepared for it, but to get a simple order of Chicken Balti wrong twice in a row and then argue we had the correct order is sadly laughable. Looking forward to trying the Shiplu's Chicken Balti

Ordered at 7:50 I got my food at 9:10… my keema naan was not even pretending to be warm and I had to put my mixed kebab starter in the microwave to heat up… mains were still hot and all tasted lovely just wish it didn’t take so long from ordering to delivery and it was still hot on arrival!

We were notified that there was a delay with the delivery but food was worth the wait. Every item was delicious and the people we had round loved the food also.

We ordered butter chicken and got a coconut chicken. It was nice, but not what we ordered! That's the only reason for the low star rating on the order.

Delivery was late based on original delivery estimate but two messages sent saying running late. The food is worth the wait, top quality and delicious.

The food was good the only thing I would complain about is two weeks now the nan has turned up burnt so what’s happening in the kitchen there?

wow! yet again a fantastic meal from The Taj. tried the Shashlik Chicken chilli masala - it was so tasty. This place has never failed to impress.

Fantastic food, delicious and very succulent

Tried something new this time; and the quality was just as good. The flavours are amazing whilst the cook quality is excellent. I do intend on eating in the restaurant, simply so I can thank them personally for such great, consistently high quality food.

Notification of courier on the way wasn't correct but was delivered slightly after estimated time given when ordered. Food was excellent and hot and I'll be going back here for my next takeaway

I hate to leave a bad review as the food here is usually very good. The last order we had was not quite up to the usual standard but this order today was awful. Most of the meat seemed like it had been cooked yesterday, two of the side dishes were good but everything else was poor. Lots of it has gone in the bin and I’m just about to make some cheese sandwiches. Very disappointed.

Great food, just a little late on the delivery

Some of the best food we’ve had in ages. Tasty, filling; a pleasure to eat. We had a wide variety from the menu and found it all delightful. Not a solo event; I tried them a while back and so liked the food that I recommended in this occasion. Everyone agreed that it was one of the best.

Sorry to say that although the food was lovely it took 2 hours to arrive. I had to call them twice. Consequently I had indigestion all night through eating too late. Also they said they would give a £10 voucher as compensation but I never git that. Not that I’m sure I’d order from them again even tho the food is good. They shouldn’t accept orders they can’t realistically fulfil.

We ordered at 6.30pm and the food arrived (after calling twice) at 8.30pm!! The original time given was 45mins?! Our children were absolutely starving and ended up having a really late night (which we are really paying for today 😩) and we went to bed with indigestion and feeling very fed up indeed. We were offered a £10 voucher but we weren’t actually given one!!!! We will never order a delivery from here again sadly, despite the food being good.

One of the best vegetable Dhansaks I have ever had! No huge vegetables to chomp through, beautiful balance of flavours; everything was gorgeous. Definitely will be trying from here again - hopefully soon!

Food kept getting delayed. Called them and no apology. You gotta wait or you can cancel. Very bad service. Food 2 hours late. They should not have taken the order if they were that backed up.

The food was amazing but we ordered at 19.40 and the delivery estimate was 20.20 - 20.40 at the time. Every time I checked, the delivery estimate was put back. I eventually called and our food was eventually delivered at 21.15. However, it tasted very good and it was hot.
