Sahebs Indian Restaurant in Rother

I had a delicious takeaway from here last night. Ordered online. Arrived a few minutes before meal was supposed to be ready. I saw one of the waiters outside and asked where to go to collect my meal as I had my dogs in the car. He took my details and brought my meal out to me. Excellent service. The food was also amazing. Loads of chicken in the korma, the garlic naan was delicious and the onion bhajis lovely. Would definitely recommend.

We had a takeaway tonight and it was delicious!! We both the jafrezi (one chicken one lamb) coconut rice, chana massala, tarka dall and chapatis as a takeaway. The chicken was very moist and the flavours of the sauce was yummy, lots of beautiful onion's, herbs and slices of green chillies. The lamb was very tender and flavoursome! Great balance of herbs and spices. Really delicious sides and lovely fluffy coconut rice! A very friendly reception upon arrival and departure! Highly recommend. 👌😋

Amazing experience at Sahebs last night. We were a large group and they accommodated us with a warm welcome and plenty of patience. The food was AMAZING. Some of the best onion bhajis I've ever tasted and everything was delicious. Don't be fooled by the exterior (which is a little drab). This is a great restaurant and well worth a visit. We will definitely be back!

I ordered a takeaway, The quality of the food was reasonable,the prices extortionate, they also thought it was a good idea to ring me at 11.05pm to inform me that I hadn't paid , upon checking cards they realised that I had paid and it was someone else ,surely any business who failed to collect a payment shouldn't be ringing someone at 11.05pm especially as that person had paid.

One of the best meals ever, the food was delicious, full of flavour and promptly served. The servers were all friendly polite and corteous. Cannot fault them. Well worth a visit.

Great place to meet up with family and friends or to celebrate a special occasion. Food is delicious and portions are good. Staff are friendly and prices are reasonable. Large car park on site. Only negative comment would be the carpet needs either cleaning or replacing.

Brilliant food will visit again

After taking 4 hours to get to our destination - and after a 2 hour walk we were hungry - this place was where we were staying so we called in - service brilliant, friendly and the food was really nice - I can’t eat rice anymore (lemon rice was on the menu)! So I had a balti and vegetables and my partner had - the lemon rice !!! And a king prawn curry - both were really filling and tasty … recommend it

Was very pleasantly surprised at the authentic north indian dishes and warm service. Mr Sandeep Sachar has done it again!!! The pricing is also very reasonable . My go to place for outings with friends and family!!!

Ordered food for 10 online to collect whilst we were staying nearby. Order was ready within 2 minutes of arriving and all packaged up ready to take. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice and we would like to dine in next time. Food was excellent and enjoyed by all our in our party with good size portions Would definitely recommend Sahebs.

A beautiful meal. Unhurried attentive service. Really good menu choices with some unusual choices all freshly cooked. It was busy which was great to see.

We have been regulars here for a While now And always thought the food tasted good and service was great... However, tonight was completely different, it was absolutely awful. The service was really bad. I had to ask to order food. Waited almost an hour for the food to turn up. When it did, It wasn't what we had ordered. As a regular Even though they were really busy. you would have thought they would take more care To make sure that you're okay but instead we where completely abandoned. I will never be going back here again. And I will never be recommending this place to anybody.

We’ve been regular customers since Sahebs first opened and the food and service have been consistently excellent over the years. Our favourites are the prawn purée starter and chicken shashlik. Always look forward to a trio of Movenpick ice-cream to finish! This really is one of the best Indian restaurants in Kent.

Lovely restaurant. Perfectly clean. Food was amazing. Location is a bit remote, but well worth a visit. Quoting my sister.. "The best Indian she's had in a long time!"

First time here whilst enjoying a few days away. Recommended by friend whom is a regular! Absolutely fantastic service for our take away, no hassle advising on allergens for one guest. All food was really tasty so full of flavour. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely hands down the best Indian. Lovely owners and staff. Friendly atmosphere that's very family friendly. Moved from London after 15 years there and was very worried we wouldn't be able to find a good Indian restaurant... We were even planning out how we could cook our own! We needn't have worried. Our current fav for Indian food in the area. Both dine in and takeaway food is good and there are a few choices on the menu which are out of the ordinary in our experience. Reccomended.

Really nice food. The restaurant was comfortable and well presented. The staff were all very nice to my 5 year old son. The price was reasonable too. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is deceiving. They have clearly made a lot of effort, and it's paid off. I was recommended to go here by my mum and brother who also recently tried it and are very happy.

Nice friendly local Indian restaurant we encountered when we stayed locally last week and the food was of a high standard as was the service. The price isn’t cheap but it does live up to its expectations - the staff and owner and friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

Don't be fooled by the exterior! The best Indian meal we've had and we're quite well travelled. Not cheap but amazing food and lovely staff. The interior is stunning and the owner has plans for the outside. Thoroughly recommend.

Excellent customer service and very tasty sauces; let down by an unreliable online notification system, poor sauce to ingredients ratio and disproportionate pricing. Very tasty, but not worth the money you are expected to pay for it.

We were camping close to the Sahebs Indian Restaurant. We thought give it a try and we really liked all the food which we ordered. The customer service was very excellent. The waiters were really helpfull and kind. I am recommending this restaurant for every indian food lover! ☺️

Had a takeaway but collected,wish we had eaten in as the decor is beautiful,food was fabulous & good value,although smaller portions than we are used to closer to where we live.

We have passed this restaurant many times but was put off by its exterior . We then received a takeaway menu and thought it sounded better than it looked so we had a look on the website and was pleasantly surprised at its interior....we paid a visit this weekend and found it to be a lovely restaurant , great food. Vast menu. We were aware of lots of regulars collecting takeaways and hope to become a regular too.

My daughter choose this restaurant for her birthday meal after we had tried few take aways in past from there, the service was incredible literally faultless from start to end food was absolutely beautiful everyone really enjoyed it all the only negative I can say is I thought the drink prices are expensive but I'd still go back as the food and service out weighs that negative definitely give it a try

We visited whilst staying on the nearby camp site which was a short walk away. Good app based menu. Really good food. Great customer service. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a mid week meal here and all the food was very nice. Service was good and the interior was also nice. Prices are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend and return when we are next in the area.

The food here is really really good. I have been a regular for years and never been disappointed. The King Prawn Pathia and Lamb Dhansak are incredible.

Excellent energetic staff, very friendly - atmosphere amazing!!! Had a chicken palong and its was mouth dripping. Can't wait till they open up again!!! I Would highly recommend this restaurant. Staff are ever so friendly and I can't wait to go back - roll on to the 17th of May!

Been using for over 8 years. It's food is second to none. Great portions. They will cater for all your food needs. Takeaway only at the moment, once open again I highly recommend if your in the area to treat yourselves to a meal. Plenty of parking and easy access for a wheelchair. Highly recommended.

Was meant to be a birthday treat but takeaway food disappointed very much. Too greasy /oily , little spice distinctions between two main dishes that had a strange dark sauce over both of them . Tarka Dall was like nothing experienced before and veg curry was also in distinct with no curry flavouring . Expensive for such a meal and will not use again- such a shame for a local business in these times .

Stayed within walking distance to Sahebs on a recent half term holiday break. Had brilliant meal here on a Sunday evening. Lovely menu with some different choices to those we are used to in our local to home Indian. Staff all very friendly, food was all amazing, well presented etc. All in all a very good meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Had some leftovers which they kindly packed up into takeaway containers for us to finish and enjoy the next day! Highly recommended

Having seen such great reviews and staying in Nevendon, we had to try it out. And not disappointed.Everything was so fresh from the poppadoms to the Peshwari Nan and our mains.Kicked off with the mixed starter, to get our taste buds firing. Just lovely. My wife had the lamb pasanda which she commented that the lamb was so tender and took on the passanda spices. I asked if they could cook any of the dishes without onion and i had a beautiful Chickwn Saag. Portions were just right and sufficiently full at the end of our meal. Just another great review to add to the plethora this restaurant has rightly deserved.

Absolutely the best Indian restaurant for miles. People come from afar to eat in or takeaway. Generous portions, the staff will help with any special needs or Dietary requirements. Plenty of parking available and easy access for Disabled. My family been using Sahebs since it opened and never had an issue with anything. Highly recommend.

The food was adequate although the portion sizes were extremely mean. When you've paying £11 or £12 for a main course dish you expect slightly more than a 3 or 4 small pieces of meat, lots of businesses have suffered during the pandemic but it's a cynical way to claw back money and ultimately a false economy as we won't be eating there again. Poppadoms were also stale. The waiter unsuccessfully tried to pass off the house red as merlot, when we pointed this out his reaction was surly, bordering on rude.

We’re on holiday in the area and this gem was recommended by our hosts. It’s a bit of a tradition that we try an Indian wherever we go but rarely do I post a review. Thank goodness we’d booked because the restaurant was packed, therefore the waiting time was longer than usual but the staff were cheerful, polite and helpful considering how busy they were and the food was worth the wait. I like a ‘hot’ dish and ordered the Naga Mirchi which was just the perfect amount of chilli and herbs and was absolutely delicious, by husband had Chicken Bhuna which he was equally pleased with , the chicken in both cases was succulent with the right amount of sauce and not in the slightest bit oily, To accompany our dishes with had mushroom rice, aloo gobi & keema nan, none of which we could fault and felt the standard of even of the side dishes, was higher than usual. The restaurant is also taking part in the eat out to help out scheme so this was a win, win! We only wish it was our local restaurant.

I often eat in or get a takeaway from here and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Food portions are very good and all staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend.

So after lockdown eased we chose Sahebs as our 1st meal out. Can’t speak highly enough of the experience. Superb food as always. Ronni and his team have worked hard to provide a very safe environment for everyone. The scanning of the menu is a great idea and worked seamlessly. First trip dining out post-lockdown was rewarded with a great dining experience at Sahebs. Real care has been taken with a new, socially distanced layout of tables and handwashing stations discretely available throughout the restaurant. Top class service, warm but unobtrusive, and genuinely amazing food - not just for "an Indian" but for any restaurant. We so enjoyed our meal and already looking forward to returning again soon.

Not surprisingly this restaurant was very busy because of the very good standard of food served. We were a party of 8. All of the meals were delicious, served together and enjoyed by all in the party. The starters were an excellent size, the prawns in particular I would highly recommend so don't fill up on th pompadoms, veggie dishes were much praised, and the chicken dishes were tasty and savoury. The wine was very good, however the champagne, which we tried was not to our liking but very much horses for courses and you may think it ambrosial. Last of all want to mention the welcoming and helpful staff. All together an excellent dining experience, but I would book because its obviously a "well kept local secret" and was nearly full - its a long way to go if your not local to be turned away because you didn't have a booking. I would highly recommend this restaurant, one of the best Indian meals we've had in a long while.

Four of us ate here for dinner on a very busy Saturday evening. We all agreed that the meal and service were as good as ever.

we have been going for a while now and the food quality has gon down hill.the takeaways take at least 1:30 mins to come.there verry busy most days,we had food there once and it wasent the best quality,it was full of oil.its a verry good place to go,but i do recommend others.

We had a Delicious meal at Sahebs. The mixed starter was really tasty and our main course curries were absolutely delicious. You could taste all the spices and the portion sizes were really generous. Great service and the restaurant has a great ambiance. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Ordered a takeaway for 10 people. Food was ready for us in an hour which was more than reasonable considering the size of the order and oh, what wonderful food, it was amazing!

We went here as a party of ten for their Elvis evening. The place was fully booked and despite this, with extra staff, the wait for food was reasonable. Anyway, we were there for the whole event, so there was no rush. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The Elvis did not look much like the real thing, but sounded like him. It was enjoyed by all and many guests were up dancing. Well done Ronnie!

Family of 8 had mild and oily starters. Asked for mains to be made a bit more spicy - what we got was ridiculously hot , not edible . The staff did admit that I much chilli powder was used and swapped the dishes , but overall we were not happy with the meal at all . If you are used to eating Indian food like we are , then best to avoid

This is a lovely restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a varied menu with a good selection of vegetarian dishes. We tried some of the signature dishes. They were delicious and the portions were generous.

The best Indian Restaurant for miles. Been using since they opened. The interior is really great too. Highly recommended by myself and locals. They have a very varied menu which has some spectacular Dishes on it, I like my curries hot and highly recommend the Naga Murchi. There is lots of parking and easy access if disabled. A must visit if coming to East Sussex.

I stopped in here as I saw lentil dumplings on the starter menu which i had to try! I wasn't particularly hungry so just had them and some paneer patty starter too. Wow - the best indian starters I've had outside of India. The place itself is aesthetically lovely and the service was excellent. My waitress knew the food and helped me choose my second starter. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this restaurant. Next time I'll also try the popadoms!!!

We went here for the first time on Tuesday. The food was amazing and the staff very attentive. Can’t wait to go back again. The portions were generous and we didn’t have to wait long in between courses.

Op de laatste avond van onze vakantie hebben we hier 2 maaltijden afgehaald. Vergeleken met onze ‘ afhaalchinees’ is het redelijk duur. Incl 2 biertjes tijdens het wachten €50. De Chicken Massala/ Makanwala was echt heerlijk met de goed gevulde Speciale rijst. De Chicken Tikka Rezzala was echt veel te heet.

We have eaten here many times and also had many take-aways. This time 6 of us dined and were all unanimous that it was the best meal we had had there, not that any of the others were bad, and probably the best Indian meal ever.

Must be the very best Indian Restaurant for miles around, without having to go to Rye or Hastings or further inland. The food always piping hot and beautifully presented too. All of the classic Indian dishes available along with some 'House Specialties' too.

This will sound an odd review as I've not actually eaten a meal here. But when I and a group of friends were stuck at nearby Northiam station in dire need of refreshment between trains, the friendly guys here cheerfully rustled up Cobra lager and delicious onion bhajis in next to no time for us to eat on the train, and I think they deserve praise for that! If I am ever again in the area I will return here.

Our first trip here and high hopes following much publicity about your refurb. Total disappointment. Started ok...not long before we were sat down and menus given. Drinks came after poppadums ..so far so good...then a party of approx 20 left in a huff saying they'd waited an hour and hadn't even had drinks. We still weren't fazed....but...40 mins to take our order..25 mins before it came. 4 prawns in a £15 dish ...and wine measures are all over the place...a real issue if you're driving. £50 for a far from perfect evening..and that included 10% off the food. I so want to support local business but I'm not prepared to put up with this...dreadful.

We only had a take away. We had a quick look around and it looks a lovely place. The staff were friendly and helpful. But most importantly the take away tasted supperbly.

I visited this restaurant with friends for a Birthday meal. We were greeted well walking in and they showed us to our table that was reserved. Whilst waiting for the last couple of people to arrive we were asked if we wanted any drinks or poppadoms, and we asked if we could have some tap water for the table. We waited about 10 minuets until we had to ask them again (by the same member off staff) By then we had been sitting in the restaurant for at least 30 mins until we asked again for some tap water. By this time, everyone's drinks had been drank and not once did anyone come over to us and ask if we wanted any more drink or ask if everything was okay with the food. The food that I ordered, was average, good portion sizes but lacked some flavour from an Indian ( lamb sag and pilau rice- which wasn't overly great and quite bland) By the time the evening was over, we asked for the bill and everyone began adding up how much they owed. When the staff came over to charge us he confessed that he wasn't good at maths and wasn't able to add up, probably not the best thing to be saying to the costumers.... Overall a okay place for a Indian but by no means the best.

Without doubt this restaurant is a great place to visit; large but not overpowering, beautifully decorated and very attentive service. I would say it is an excellent place for a family meal and/or a bit of a celebration. The food itself is beautifully prepared and, by the looks of it, from excellent quality ingredients. My only criticism is that the food appears to be prepared for the local 'mild' taste and could do with a bit of spicing up, literally. But, with Wembley down the road from me, maybe I expect too much. Beers are the usual boring Indian stuff which is a shame given there are some excellent local beers nearby.

The Indian restaurant to go if visiting Rye or nearby. Plenty of choice on the menu,lots of seating and ample parking.also no problems if in a wheelchair ♿. Food is excellent, if you like your curry hot I recommend the Naga Murchi, or chilli Delight.chef will make as hot as you want.

The staff were helpful , polite and the service was great not rushed would recommend this restaurant to any one wanting a great eating experience.
