Must be one of the best curry houses in South Wales. Food is fantastic. Alloo Chat particularly delicious. Dhansak best I’ve ever eaten.

Fantastic and traditional Bangladeshi food We had all the usual favourites with good service as always from Bruno and team.

Service was sound👌, I don’t ever write reviews but had to leave a positive comment after the night they have given me. Staff were welcoming and warm towards us and made sure to accommodate to our few extra demands. Enjoyable night and food was top tier, im already craving it again.

Friendly staff, excellent food; what's not to like?!

Based on great reviews I Visited a few years back but came away disappointed. Recently tried again as was told they cater well for gluten free diners. Service was very good / friendly. Food, again not so great. Both gluten free diners were ill, one was taken ill at the restaurant and the other once they were home. They suspect the onion bhaji as they both had it. We are not GF diners but both our meals had tough / rubbery chicken and sauce on mine was very thick / congealed. Sheek kebab had a more puréed than minced texture. Sadly for us another disappointing experience.

The food was exceptional, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I can genuinely say this was one of the best curries I've had in a long time!

I order take out from here and have been doing so for about 3 years. The food is always great. But recently my deliveries have taken over an hour to get to me. Nearly 2 hours on one occasion. Shame as its probably the best curry place in Penarth.

Runel and his team are the best hosts and make you feel very comfortable. The food was exceptional and service was excellent. All of the dishes were full of flavour and served to the table at a perfect temperature, The tandoori sizzler plates are served to you by the waiting staff and never disappoint. The king prawn shashlik is my favourite, the prawns are huge and seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend ordering with a sauce of your choice. The Balti dishes are fantastic - particularly the chicken balti. Thank you ‘Team Paramount’ for always making our evenings with you so special. Look forward to seeing you again very soon! 😀

Oldest Indian restaurant in Penarth I've been going there for years, the food is always been consistent excellent

Ordered a takeaway yesterday evening and ordered the Chicken Rezala from the chefs recommendation section and a lamb dhansak, coconut rice snd sheek kebab. With two naan breads. They sent us the naan and dhansak correct but the chicken rezala wasn’t there. Instead they sent me something with lamb and onions and the coconut rice was actually pilau rice. Paid £32 and our meal was wrong. Not impressed! Think we will go back to our regular.

Curry was bland Service got the drinks wrong Left in the middle of taking our order to deal with another customer ?!?! Really made us feel special !! Ok experience but won’t go again and it’s not cheap.

Went to the Paramount recently. It was just about OK. But the following 24 hours were not so good. Needless to say, I will not be going again. Normally, go to Mos next door, but they are closed on a Monday, and our group could only make a get-together on that Monday 🙄 But i can 100% recommend Mos on all counts 😉

First time we had a takeaway from here, it was delicious, well cooked and fresh. We will be back again!

went here for food to night shocking service the waitress and i think may have been the owner not sure but i had to tell them a few times no ive not finished with my popadoms they no sooner bought them to me and they wanted to take them away then and not only that i ordered a chiken tikka missala which i wanted sweet and creamy sorry we cant do tikka sweet well ive had that done in other indian restaurants made to my choice of prefrence no problem what so ever. this upset my whole night so i had another meal on the menu which she said was sweet i thought but it was the tikka i was after sorry but wont be returning here. what made it worse was i think it was done on purpose as the guy said after a few times he laughed he said im not going to take your popadoms this time very insulting to customers if there had been 0 stars i would have put zero stars.

I've visited several times and never been "wowed" by the food but the last occasion was particularly bad. Service was poor, had to ask 3 times for our order to be taken, then took an hour for our food to arrive. It was a rugby day but early evening and not all tables were full so still not at capacity. Food was disappointing for me but others in the group enjoyed their dishes. Expensive for what we had. Didn't take photos which I regret now but wasn't inspired to take any at the time!

Indian is located next to a free car park (in the evenings). Service was very fast with food being served moments after order. Food served was to order and was very good. I would eat here again.

The food was amazing and so was the service. Will definitely be seeing me and my family again soon.

The Paramount has been in Penarth for over 25years. Its centrally located near the main train station and has ample parking outside. I had a Chicken Shatkora which is a Bangladeshi dish and my wife had a Vegetable Byriani. The service is fine and it's very reasonably priced

The food was good, tasty and affordable. There was great customer service and the overall experience was great. The ambience was also good. Customer service is the key thing that has to be mentioned. The way they do it is so professional. Keep up the good work.

The decor hasn't changed for 30 years and that is part of the charm of this lovely British Indian restaurant. The quality of the food is first class. The menu is traditional British Indian with Baltis ,Jalfrezi, Dhanzak etc. We ate here on 25/11/2022. Naan bread straight from the tandoor, fluffy inside and coated in ghee. Wonderful tandoori chicken on the bone, the Lamb Biriani was exceptionally good. There is nothing innovative about this place, and that's why we keep coming back. The feeling of sitting down in a familiar and welcome environment and eating delicious food will always put a smile on our faces.

Have eaten in the restaurant, but normally have a take away. Husband loves the Persian Biriyani, we both like the Onion Bhaji. But tonight: Ordered a Peshwari Naan, got a plain one, and my Dal was basically yellow over salted water, disgusting Will try again, just hoping the next dal actually has lentils and far less salt.

Food and customer service was excellent. My family really enjoyed it. 100% worth the money. Definitely going again

Had a very disappointing meal, wasn't very nice. Even forgot our bottle of coke! Rang them to check that what we were given was what we ordered, and they said yes. Well, i've never had anything like that before and won't risk it ever again...

I got to Cardiff 0900 pm, nothing was open on a friday night to eat where we were places were only serving drinks, so as I knew Cardiff so well, I knew an indian restaurant would be open, so we drove to the railway station, there it was, free parking and a jewelry of India, the Paramount still open and busy, we got a table instantly, and the food was excellant, tasty and falling, even the irish coffee I had was great, the water on ice perfect, everything for the meal tasted made on the premises and beautifully served, excellant meal, £50.00 for two.

We have eaten here ever since it opened in 1982? The food is still excellent (although we no longer order take away because we had two very poor tasteless ones a while back). We have eaten here twice during August, taking advantage of the Government subsidy. Both times the food has been excellent. The first time there were social distancing measures and we felt very safe but on the second occasion (August 31st) these seemed to have been largely abandoned. Every table was in use, at least 30 customers, in what is a fairly small room. There were no plastic divides or shields. I don't know what the rules are but we did not feel safe this time. It won't stop us going back at some future date though.

Have been a lover of Indian food since I was 17yrs old. Not disclosing my exact age, I can say I have OVER 30yrs of experience. This place in my opinion was only surpassed by two other experiences as the worst Indian takeaway food I have eaten. Sheek kebab starter.. dry and very salty. Peshwari nan tasted OK but had very little coconut and the same for the keema nan which had only traces of meat. The main dishes were chicken korma and a chicken rezala (chef's recommended). The korma, a coconut based curry was overpowered by the taste of coconut water and had no creaminess, though the chicken was properly cooked. The rezala had properly cooked chicken but was bathing in a watery fluid mixed with soggy onion and tomato. Now, pilau rice should flow off the spoon, but this clumped like cat litter. Overall, the meal resembled a failed first attempt at a home effort of cooking Indian food. Not impressed at all and had travelled from Merthyr to Penarth to collect, based on others' recommendations.

Had our first restaurant meal since the Covid pandemic started and what a treat it was. We were fortunate that it was a balmy evening so we could sit outside where they had a couple of tables on the pavement. The service was very friendly and attentive and we were greatly reassured by all the hygiene measures they had put in place to combat Covid19. The food was fantastic, the meat was high quality and plenty of it. Everything we had was delicious. A fabulous evening - thank you to Runel and his team.

I have curry from here every week without fail and the quality is always good. They offer a delivery service too which is convenient

Just collected a takeaway and have to say it was the most tasteless takeaway we’ve ever had. There was no flavour, substance or taste to the chicken tikka masala. It was like gravy. The onion salad was like water and the mushroom rice undercooked and flavourless. Really disappointed as we would normally enjoy a meal from here. The popadoms are soft and naan bread stale. Wonder what has changed?

Visited 3 times before and all meals were excellent. Since lockdown we've had 3 takeaway meals which have been equally as good, and when ordering on the phone, all orders have been taken with efficiency and a smile. Really impressed with the service and quality of the food. Fabulous

We come visiting Penarth and we randomly went past the station and we went to the restaurant and the deco is nice and the food is good and the staff and the owner was very nice and polite. If you go on the weekend I prefer you to book it.We we’re lucky to get the table.

Booked a table to celebrate a baby shower. From the moment we sat down we were rushed! We asked for water with our drinks, didn’t get any. As soon as we had finished our food, they brought the bill and said, “hurry we need the table”! We hadn’t even finished our drinks! Then another waiter came over and banged the table and said “we need the table” totally unacceptable , will never eat here again! Very rude!

After our Indian turned up 40 minutes late it was cold, watery and only had 2 pompadoms when I ordered and charges for 4. First time ordering and the last .

First visit last night; empty when we arrived but almost full within half an hour! From past experience I haven't found Indian restaurants to be particularly welcoming establishments, in most cases waiting staff seem indifferent to customers and want you out the door as soon as you've finished your meal! So it was a very nice surprise to be greeted by such friendly staff at the Paramount, they seemed genuinely pleased to meet new customers...I'll definitely be going back..oh, and the food was delicious too!

Great food all freshly prepared. It is a little small but nice. The good food makes up for the price to as it’s a bit expensive I thought. The beer they served is Asian beer out of bottles.
