Good restaurant with very delicious food. There are some quite special options. Try the Achar Balti. It is great.

Waited around 1.5hrs for a delivery, but to be honest it’s a Saturday so they are probably quite busy. The food was incredibly weird. We ordered: 1. Chips (Cold & soggy) 2. Sri Lankan lamb curry (Flavours were really nice, but very greasy) 3. Lamb Madras (Lacked flavour, very watered down) 4. Chapati (It was microwaved tortilla) 5. Pilau Rice (For some reason it was red in colour, not much flavour to it) Very disappointed. We payed £23 for the meal as we had a £10 voucher. I do believe place can improve by using more seasoning & less greasy. Also if you selling chapati it has to be a chapati & not tortilla. Unfortunately I would probably not order from here again.

Wow gone downhill always had a lovely curry vindaloo. It’s a hot curry. My pom-poms were hotter 4 bit of chicken plus some little strands actually had to count them fortunately won’t be going back. you can’t always have a good thing can we? Can we Daz?

This place has a perfect indian and Bangladeshi food. We are 10 family member. We love the service and food. Full of flavour. Garlic naan and bbq perfect taste. love this place for family occasions. Totally worth it

Amazing food and service was great

Amazing jewel of a restaurant in Barry. The starters we had were tandoori chicken, onion bhajees, sheek kebabs and chicken pakora. The starters came to us very promptly and were truly fresh, hot and delicious. The mains were garlic nan, plain nan peshwari nan, lamb curry, chicken curry and a vegetarian curry of daal Tari’s all of these curry dishes were outstanding and very delicious. The service provided by the owner, manager and waiter who were very attentive, helpful and very knowledgeable, super bunch and very professional throughout our evening whilst dinner there.

Good food, friendly staff, and quick service.

Crazy what can change in 3 years. The quality of the food remains satisfactory but easily outdone by other local Indian outlets. The prices have really risen! £8 for 4 poppadoms and chutneys. You wouldn't be charged that in top Indian restaurants and the closest best the royal India or Raj kinara doesn't even charge those prices. The mains prices have also gone up substantially. Sorry to say this maybe the last visit in a long time. The quality was not worth the price they are asking. £70 for 2 people was insane. Again not uncommon in far superior quality restaurants but not for shahi Noor!

This is a great restaurant with very tasty dishes of high quality. Good variety menu. There are a good selection of dishes, not the usual dishes your expect, which was good. We had chicken Naga, lamb pathia and various vegetable dishes with stuffed paratha and rice. What can I say. This is the first time I've used this restaurant, recommended by my friend who lives in Barry and who I was visiting. I'll be eating there again when I return to Barry as the food was beautiful and it was an alround pleasant experience. I'd really recommend this place. Staff were lovely and friendly too. Very reasonable cost.

The food is gorgeous, ( I usually have a takeaway ). Try their specials, and the vegetarian choices are great too.

Tried this place again after 2 years. Still ridiculously slow, there was no one else in the restaurant, and 1 phone call when I was there, and my order still came almost 1/2 an hour late. Saying that food always really nice. Staff always friendly, they just need to stick to the time they give you !

Service was excellent. Atmosphere was good. But the food was not good. I ordered a Lamb Madras Curry. The curry had absolutely no spice to it at all. My Grand Daughter does not eat spicy food. She tasted it and found no spice to it. Also the texture was if thickener had been used heavily. The lamb Was tender though. I should have complained but when your being treated to a meal.

Havent been in here for a while and I must say, it is still as good as I remember. Me and a couple friends went and we all enjoyed it.

Cold chips amount 14 - handful of cold rice - Luke warm 7 small pieces of chicken in a lovely sauce. Forget ordering a meal, get 10 popadoms and a tub of masala sauce! I don’t review unless exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Look elsewhere guys

I have just been for a curry with my wife, and I can highly recommend his place. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had starters and mains, and the food was well prepared and cooked to perfection. Would definitely eat here again. Highly recommended.

Was hugely disappointed with the food we ordered. Ordered the prawn purée but they were so small they were actually shrimps. The Chicken jalfrasie was tasteless and the mushroom rice was bland and had hardly any mushrooms in. The staff were very helpful but will not return.

First and last time I order from this restaurant, the food was cold, the popadams were soft and the chips were disgusting, had to cut the meat in the curry with a knife and fork straight in the bin!!!

Hadn't been here in nearly 25 years. Absolutely brilliant night. Great food. Good value for money and excellent service. 👏.

Well decorated with a wide selection of dishes.

What a nice evening. We popped in and the staff were lovely and helpful. The food was great, really yummy. The bhajis were particularly nice. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would eat there again.

Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi. Myself and my family all enjoyed a wonderful meal.

Food fairly decent, if you go with a baby, you would be better changing them on the street than the toilets.

It's very basic. Toilets could do with a scrub. Very out dated decor. Prices are about the same as everywhere else for this type of Indian. Service was OK. Poppadom dips were bland. The mint sauce is probably the worst I've tried any where The mains were ok. Really all fairly basic. Would I tell anyone to go there... No Do I think they could do better... Yes Need an overhaul - and the chef needs to be reminded that the business really does rely on them to provide good quality food so customers return Really wanted to enjoy this "restaurant" as its local but can't see us returning. It's a very tired place that needs some pzazz

Food was not as ordered but tasted OK. Didn't send it back as my partner would have ended up eating on her own!

The food is really good here, but the last couple times delivery taking one to two hours and food arriving cold. Apparently it is better for the restaurant if you use uber eats, they say its the same price and delivery is quicker, so going to give that a try this weekend.

I've dined in and collected food from here in the past and enjoyed it but we had a delivery last night and was very disappointed. The food arrived two hours later than ordered and the chips, garlic naan etc were all soggy and cool. I rang twice and was told "it's on its way" and "they're around the corner" which was not true. I understand delays happen but be honest, don't fob people off. This wasn't a cheap take away and I'm afraid it's put me off ordering here for some time.

We decided to eat here again, we both had the lamb vindaloo with pulse rice, 1 normal Nan bread, 1 side dish of Daal Shamber, the vindaloo wasn’t as hot as usual & not so tasty, the rice also was tasteless, the naan bread was the worst we’ve ever had it was thin & too crispy, the Daal shamber was nice but not even spicy. The inside could do with an overhaul as it feels so unwelcoming, it’s a shame because the food used to be so nice, it looks like we will have to find a new Indians to go to.

Disappointed with our takeaway this evening. Usually food is good when dining in but the delivery arrived cold, curry watery and naan bread hard and chewy. Nothing like the food when you dine in. Certainly won’t be ordering again.

A proper old school curry - fabulous food, how curry should be! Reasonable prices too. But the restaurant is more than basic. Grubby ageing placemats. Brightly lit. Basic service. With the food so great it hardly matters, but wouldn't be hard to improve in a few ways. Obviously very popular as it was chocker!

Friendly welcome and good service. Food was delicious and came to table hot. My only negative, my experience of Chicken Makhani is a mild spicy, complex rich creamy coconut / almond curry - the Makhani here was quite bland, not spiced / creamy with pungent turmeric type of vibe. Good pricing. Would recommend the restaurant but not the makhani.

Total hit and miss with this place…just had the worst chips I’ve ever had from anywhere! Agreed, chips are not Indian cuisine but they are on the menu and hardly complex to cook! I’ve ordered countless takeaways here but this is the last - far too many below average and money wasted!

This shop is really delicious! The boss service is also very good! Enthusiastic, I ate the honey chicken recommended by the boss, and Bhuna was delicious!

Have been ordering take away almost weekly, Poor food on last two deliveries. This week lamb tikka to tough to eat, poppadom's couldn't be eaten not crispy at all, chips awful I hope you read this guys, I want to continue to order as the curry sauce is lovely and your staff are lovely to deal with. Please improve!!

This well-established Indian restaurant maintains high standards and the meal, if a little spicier than I expected for a murghi makhani, was nevertheless generous and tasty. My partner had tandoori chicken biryani with a delicious, sweet vegetable sauce.

We came here twice whilst we were on holiday. The restaurant is on the high street and the food in here was excellent and very reasonably priced. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. We had starters, curry and rice and naan bread and Cobra beer and it was all delicious. The food and service was excellent and we would definitely recommend to others. They were even open late on a Sunday night when everywhere else was closed.

Best balti I’ve ever had, honestly - it was so tasty!! Wasn’t too pricey either. We had 2x Cobra, 2x rosé wine, 3x poppadom, chicken pakora, sheekh kebab, chicken tikka balti, pilau rice, peshwari naan and some chips and it was £43.45! Would definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

Haven't had a take away for some years as food wasn't up to scratch, tried again on the weekend, Lamb tikka tender, good mint sauce and excellent nan breads. Hubby had chicken curry which he really enjoyed, I had a chicken tikka massala which was fair. Will order again

We were staying in Barry and were looking for a Traditional Curry House to have a meal! Wow! We were so impressed with the Food, Staff and overall experience of this place! We had our 4yr old daughter with us and the staff were so kind bearing in mind it was a particularly busy sat evening!! Faultless food which was delicious as well as generously portioned!! Our bill was very reasonable and honestly we had nothing to question about this place!! Will no doubt come back to Shahi Noor and Barry in the future!! 👍

Very bad takeaway. The Onion bhajis were cold and dry. The mains were cold also and had to be microwaved. The biryani was tasteless and the lamb was so fatty I spat it out, it actually made me heave. The chicken tikka bhuna was tasteless...

Have only visited this Indian late at night on the weekend along with lots of other intoxicated people, never any complaints about the food and cheap. They cater for this type of clientele so be warned if going late at night.

Normally lovely. However after waiting an extra 15 minutes than originally told for collection. We get it home to find onion bahjee's so burnt we couldn't eat them and a hair in our pakora

Good service despite turning up out of the blue late on a Sunday when visiting Barry Menu typical for a high street Indian. Food quality at least as good as my local. I would happily go again.

Absolutely amazing food and great service, extremely friendly and welcoming. It's not often you get disappointed by the fact you can't physically eat anymore food but with food this good and great portion sizes that's exactly how I felt.

Absolutely horrible. Chicken was frozen and tasted like rubber. Better off getting a microwave curry from Tesco. Much better Indian experience tbh. new Indian on broad street is much better.

Visited last night absolutely wonderful! Food was delicious the staff were excellent tables was spaced out so we felt safe. Had the Indian mango ice cream it was heavenly will certainly have that on the next visit. Well done to you all for giving us a wonderful evening.

Went on the 27th August and had had great time, staff were friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble. Food was excellent and all 4 of us enjoyed both courses. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good curry while in Barry

The chicken seems to be precooked in the korma. Since eating at the restaurant we have both been ill, let's just say loads of loo roll. But maybe we just had a bad portion easily done. But the service was friendly and fast.

No social distancing, less than half a meter away from other people, didn’t care that we left just wanted to pack as many People in there as possible! Especially when I rang to check prior to booking!

Not the best, but maybe we had high curry expectations being from Glasgow. But it seemed like we could go buy frozen chicken and pataks pastes, then throw a rubby murry together that would have tasted way better. A good curry should be made with indian gravy, this wasnt. Is it a Scottish thing but they had no spiced onions or propper pakora either? They had chicken pakora ala schnitzel tho which was tasty. On the plus side the non tandori nans were nice. I think if your from Birmingham or the north, then this wont impress.

We ordered a several dishes; chicken ticka masala, chicken shashlick, and a tandoori mixed grill, rice, onion baji, poppadoms and naans. We waited 1 hour 20 minutes, for our food to arrive COLD, INEDIBLE, and quite frankly expensive!! We couldn’t distinguish what meat what what...

Been going there since they opened. Always been made welcome, lovely people , cracking food,beer . Etc.
