Great takeaway, fast and fresh

Not special. They were so busy Friday night there were loads of cooks working. I heard such good things about the place I gave it a second try but I was very disappointed that the chicken tasted old and there was food dye in the rice. The starter I had was dry. I have a bad aftertaste in my mouth now. I hope the food was stored properly. The curry dishes did have a little flavour and were spicy at least but I definitely won't be going back. Very quick delivery but that isn't a priority for me.

I ordered dum biryani chicken but i was more like potatoes and chicken fried rice and it was not very hot !!!!

can't fault the dishes ever, shame about the customer service. when you've waited an hour and a half and politely call to ask if there's a problem you'd expect them to at least ask your address or what you ordered. "it's already left" then they hang up the phone 👍👍 as has my custom mate

I’ve eaten in dozens of restaurants around the country and had hundreds of take aways the last forty years. I ordered the Mughlai Pulao rice, Nagga lamb and two popadoms with mango chutney. It was delivered in under 45 minutes so no problem there. The Mughlai Pulao consisted of small pieces of tandoori chicken cooked using rice and ground spices, this one is a lip-smacking therapy for your appetite. I usually always opt for lamb over chicken and fluctuate between spicy and very spicy. Tonight I ordered the latter. The nagga sauce was rich, good texture and very tasty. A little mild compared to others I’ve had and too many onions also. You could almost be forgiven if you thought you were eating a spicy Jalfrezi. The portions were very generous and enough for two. What let the curry down was the lamb. It wasn’t succulent enough. You really had to cut through it with a serrated knife. It should be tender melt in the mouth as apposed to well done and require effort.

Was a decent Indian takeaway. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala but ended up with some mixed meat Tikka Masala and didn’t even know about it. Just glad I only have a mild seafood allergy after eating Lobster which was in the dish. Would have been nice if they could have labelled the dishes so we knew what was in what tub as it all looked quite similar.

We ordered four main meals, rice, poppadoms and naan etc. My lamb curry was fantastic, stole some of the Bindi Murgh and that was also lovely. Waiting for the meal to be ready we watched the guys cooking and making Naans in the Tandoor.. wonderful aromas and lovely fresh breads. My new favourite curry take away... Shame they don't deliver to Swindon.

I still haven’t been delivered my food after waiting up for over a hour for it , I have rang many times with no answer

We regularly get takeaway from Royal Balti (pickup and delivery). We have our favourite meals and tend not to deviate, but that’s because they’re so tasty! Unfortunately, there has been a couple times where a vegetarian dish has been mixed up with a meat option, which has rendered us without an edible meal - however we have continued to return as customers because the curry is that good. Mostly, the curry is fantastic and pretty quick. Money wise, it is quite good value. The naan bread is always nice too. We hope it will continue being a reliable choice as they are transitioning to exclusively being on Uber Eats, and we haven’t been impressed by Uber Eats through different restaurants. We shall see!

One of the best curry houses in Wales and definitely the best in Barry by a long shot. The food is always on point and I've never had a bad meal or bad service. If I was to give one criticism it would be that the keema nan doesn't have enough meat in it as I would like but I still have to give 5/5

First time ordering from here and already thinking to order again tonight! Food was lovely and hot. Chicken tikka Biriyani was unreal! And the buffalo chicken starter was also 10/10! Kids nugget meal was lovely son ate every bit and the chips and garlic naan also 10/10!

Ordered a few of the box meals, they are all amazing to be fair, doner box, tikka and chips box, the spicy box is spicy but so moreish, try them, you won’t be disappointed

Huge Disappointment! Heard about this being an award winning takeaway so thought we’d give it a go. Despite this business being only 4 mins away, food arrived barely lukewarm, Bhaji was soft not crispy, makhani curry was an unnatural colour with some rubbery chicken, pilau rice had “nuclear” colour red & green bits in it with a chemical perfume type of taste rather than the normal gorgeous aromatic flavours & naan bread was soggy. The sheek kebab had a lovely flavour as did the curry sauce. Sadly a pretty poor 1st experience.

Delicious food, but could have been hotter. Chips/rice was lukewarm on arrival.

We had a lovely evening at the Royal Balti. The food was good value for money and very tasty. We would recommend the Balti and will be returning soon

We always order from here. Delicious curries all the time. Service is never late and always on time or early. Today we placed a small order that included a bag of chips. These weren't in the bag when we started to dish out the food. Thankfully it was just a bag of chips and not a main curry or rice dish. Could i suggest better quality checks before the orders are sent out for delivery. We could have phoned up to let them know the chips were missing but by the time they would have arrived the rest of the food would have been cold. Other than that the food was great as always!

I am glad I did not read the other reviews on here. It was my first time using the Royal Balti and everything was excellent. Yes there was a long-ish wait but you can track the preparation and on its way via the website which I think was a cool addition to their business. When the food arrived I was really surprised by the quantity, each meal could have fed 2 so I know what I will be having today for lunch :). Being a vegetarian, I am often limited to what I can have from Take Aways but the variety on offer from the Royal Balti was amazing. I ordered the Jaipuri Sabzi and will be getting this again. All in all this was an excellent take away and I can only but praise the Royal Balti, especially due to them probably being really busy which for me is a good sign because it means they are popular. We have been customers here for a long time most Saturdays we order a take away for delivery every week recently the delivery time has got longer tonight it was nearly 2 hours, we did phone to check what was going on. On ordering we were advised 1 hour to 1 15 hours. Really, not good and they don't seem to care.

Really unfortunate experience as normally order directly through Royal Balti’s website but just didn’t this time. I had to reheat all of my food which was such a disappointment as I’d normally give 5*s for their quality. Perhaps just a one off but frustrating all the same.

Gave me an estimate of 1-1:15 hours. Hour and a half later says it’s delivered but nothing is here.

Bit disappointed this time around food was cold and signature meal wasn’t as good quality as usual. Part of the order was missing be it a bag of chips. I did contact the restaurant to advise but they appear to be to busy to handle my situation so I said I would remind them next time around. I got to say I have used this restaurant for a number of years and never had a problem so uncertain what is happening tonight.

Poppadoms where missing when ordered 2 mint sauce for them... Keema nan, both missing Keema inside waste of money, an food cold

Ordered at 6.15pm, delivery time given between 7.10-7.30pm. Delivered at 7.45pm . Not only was food late but cold when it arrived. Bit disappointed really.

I ordered a curry for me an my gf an a kemanarn an when ever I get a takeaway I usually order from the royal balti as the food is usually delicious but this time my chicken korma the meat was really tuff an rubbery an my kemanarn was black really burnt I couldn’t eat half of it as it was burnt to a crisp very disappointed as the food isn’t cheap :(

Ordered a chicken tikka and tikka chips snack box on uber eats, and it was awful! Some not all of the chicken was tough in parts and the chips are what really ruined it for me Raw, hard, undercooked. I would of rang for a refund except I had work just after my order arrived so didn't have time to bother with ringing them tho I should of as it was that bad. So went to work for a night shift disappointed and hungry.

Poor, very poor. I had to phone the takeaway to ask why their “salad” only consisted of lettuce & a slice of lemon. The response I received was “we haven’t served onions, cucumber & tomato on a salad for 6 months which is absolute nonsense as I ordered from there a little while ago. I asked to speak to the manager and was told “I am the manager” so I asked why does the manager answer the phone? Absolutely appalling, if I could leave negative stars I would, how embarrassing for a takeaway restaurant to boast all sorts of certificates yet deliver so poorly. Makes me wonder who exactly is judging such certifications. Never again will I ever order from here and I will make it my business to pass my negative experience on to the unsuspecting public who see their “accolades”. I would personally advise the “Royal Balti” to take a leaf out of Rahil’s book of customer service and food quality to earn the “accolades” that were “awarded” to them properly rather than friends and extended families nominate them. I will also take my minor complaint which was handled badly to the press in the hope that potential customers can make an educated decision whether or not to order from here. As an advocate to Indian cuisine I would advise Rahil, I did not make the order tonight however in future I will

Food always spot on and early delivery win win

Put order in 7:20pm by 9oclock had to ring restaurant to see where my order was because while I was checking tracking it had been delivered they reckon it was a fault with just eat when it finally arrived it was cold one dish had burnt onions just looked like it was thrown together. All in all was tasteless

No stars. Food was disgusting. Chips as hard as bricks. Onion bhajis,burnt over cooked. Lamb tikka was covered in to much sauce, not much lamb and the little there was, it was full of grisle.

Food was cold chips stale. Chicken uncooked. I bought a side salad which came as just warm lettuce. Nan bread soggy phoned to complain and they told me to take it up with just eat. Very unsatisfactory

It was bland and all the meats were over cooked including slow cooked beef and had the mix starter. Lamb chops were ok. Chips were hard inside and soggy. Unfortunately won’t be ordering from there again. Delivery driver absolutely lovely.

Keema nan had no meat in it just a red colouring!!when u pay nearly £4 for a bit of bread you expect meat in it at least.

Always a tasty order from here, go to Indian in Barry and there’s lots to choose from. Dishes taste quality and not run of the mill. Proper ingredients and care. Lamb was outstanding, soft and tasty 👍

Always really nice food from Royal Balti. Was a Saturday night, a very busy kitchen and my order was ready in 30 minutes. I've never had a bad curry from Royal Balti

First time order on a Pre order. Easy! For me and my mother in law. Food is excellent…. Chicken tikka box and the Balti rice and naga , bombastic chicken delicious! Food arrived and unfortunately wrong order for my mother in law but this was a complete error as another person in Rhoose ordered and had the same house number and was for the same time totally bad luck…. I explain this as dealt with accordingly super professional and customer service excellent. Can honestly say strongly recommend! Will be back!

I’m not a regular customer but when I do have a takeaway curry, I use the Royal Balti. Tonight’s food however was a huge disappointment - the Royal Biryani had little flavour, with almost no meat or chicken and maybe a single prawn but what really ruined the meal for me, was the awful Madras sauce that came with it. It was actually really quite unpleasant. Sorry, Royal Balti, but you’ve lost a customer

Normally great food from here but last two orders gave been disappointing. First was incorrect naan delivered. The last order was missing salad and mint dip for starter.

Used them for many years, cancelled a recent order but still haven't received a refund.
