We ordered curry from here and it was amazing. They delivered it quickly, they were really friendly at the door and even included a free dish along with a little hand written thank you note for ordereing with them. The customer experience is literally not notch, even when you order out. Highly recommend.

One of the best curries I have had in a long time! I'll absolutely be coming back very soon. I always have a madras, and the one I got from here was the perfect amount of spice, it was smooth and very tasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly and so was the potato in the bombay aloo. The service was fast and they were very welcoming and friendly. Very reasonable too!

After a friends get together we later discovered that they put a service charge to our meal of £25 which we found unexceptable especially when we always leave a tip so due to the underhanded way of the services we're added without our knowledge we will no longer be using their restaurant again

I had been to visit a friend who lives nearby and I asked him to suggest a local restaurant with BYO as I do like a glass of wine with my meal and prefer a wine that I know and select from many wine tastings. He did not come with us as he had a late and rather large lunch so it was only myself and an Indian lady friend. It was Sunday evening and at 7pm we were the only ones there. My first reaction was that it was rather more expensive than most Indian restaurants which we visit so we decided to skip the starters. They also add a 10% service charge which I do not greatly like as I usually give a higher tip but not when they add one. The portion size was at the smaller end of average. And with no starter we easily ate everything and did not leave anything to take home as we usually do. The dishes tasted as they should but were generally not very spicy and I guessed that was to please the generally English clientelle. Particularly the fish dhansak was really quite mild whereas most restaurants cook it as quite spicy at 3/5 of a vindaloo. It was nice to have the list of generic dishes including a fish option. The service was generally good and I am a little surprised at the several reviews mentioning bad service but then I had no need to engage in any complaints which perhaps they do not handle very well. During our visit only one other couple came into the restaurant which I found disappointing for a Sunday evening. So for me the BYOB would attract me to go back there again when I am next in the area.

This is my local Indian restaurant and have been coming since it opened. I've done one review previously but a long time ago, so I felt that another one is warranted. My partner and I went out for dinner on after a very long and busy day and I decided to have something different that I'd never had before. We shared a prawn puri because we know the main courses are very generous portions. My partner had the salmon tikka which was sumptuous - I just had a steal a bit. I had the chef's special which comprised Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, sheek kebab & chips. I asked for lamb tikka to be exchanged for soft lamb and the chips to be made with a chili sauce (which I've had before) and it was just perfect. The price is unbeatable too, always excellent value. It's worth mentioning that my previous visit which was excellent too because there was 23 of us out for a joint birthday celebration and a number of our party had never been here before. To say, they were all bowled over with the food, value and service would be an understatement. The Saffron always excels at its service because every dish was spot on and all came out on time, piping hot and nothing missed or wrong. Many restaurants have trouble coping with a large group. If you've never been, make the trip, you won't be disappointed. Well done to Sam (the owner) and his top class team of chefs and waiting staff. By far the best Indian in Hoddesdon and the surrounding area, I know. I’ve tried them all.

It’s such a shame because this place is normally pretty good but tonight I have ordered food and still waiting a hour and a half later considering it’s only 5/10 minutes down the road from me bizzare to me how u can mess this up I paid £50 for basically nothing such bad service I phoned the place and a gentleman comes to the phone and is pretty rude and rudely hung up at the end after saying yeah it’s on the way and it’s then been another 20/30 minutes is ridiculous and now are not answering the phone as I am still currently waiting for my food I have now rung 3 times with no one to answer the phone it’s ridiculous and tbh quite rude and not how u deal with customers !
