Mim spice great wakering in Rochford

A perfect example of an Indian restaurant. The restaurant is small but packs a punch in flavour. Cozy and very clean. Went with work colleagues we all loved it. Will definitely be back

Absolutely brilliant!! The food was superb from the first bite. The staff were attentive but weren't hovering over your shoulder. Luckily I don't live to far away, but I would highly recommend going even if you have to drive to Great Wakering its that good. Overall this has to be some of the best food in the southend area.

We had a lovely evening in mim spice. There were 11 of us and we were looked after really well. Drinks were flowing and we all got our food served at the same time. We all said it was very tasty and nothing was too much trouble! Great service through out the evening. Thank you everyone at Mim Spice. We will be back soon 😊

I'm generally not a fan of sunday lunch buffets, but i would definitely go back for a meal at Mim Spice. Whilst the buffet selection is not huge (a comment made by previous reviewers as a negative), i think it's all the better for this. The dishes on the buffet are done really well, and are kept refreshed frequently. Service also very friendly and efficient. I recommend it.

Fab food every time, especially the chicken pakoras! Lots of flavour and always piping hot! Not had a bad meal from here, always had a lovely takeaway

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered at 7.40 and it arrived at 6.30. Explained to the driver and was told to call the restaurant. Called the restaurant and they said they would collect ASAP and bring a new order at 7.40. I was worried they would reheat our order so asked them to pick the order up when they delivered the new one and this is when it got heated - they basically refused and said they would not do that and would not give me a refund either! Eventually they agreed to a refund which would take 5-7 working days but we had to drive and take the order back to them. Disgusting attitude and customer service - definitely will NOTE go there ever again!

Just had take away disappointing that the government discount scheme only works if you sit in! Thought it was expensive for what we got, nann bread disgusting! Probably won’t order from here again expensive and not brilliant

Small space however we were made very welcome.Good value especially the wines. We would highly recommend.

This is a very well kept little restaurant in the middle of old Wakering. Very clean and tidy. Service was spot one. The food was delicious especially the paneer. Short walk from one of the local pubs. Can't ask for more really.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit there last week, great service and really clean. Looked like it had just been renovated.

we had 4 main courses plus sides. All about as bad as each other..bland tasteless and over all very not as it used to be. what a shame.

We visited this little restaurant for the first time and had lovely food, excellent service and staff are very friendly. Have lived in wakering all my life and never new this little place was there. Will be back.

Great Wakering isn’t very big it’s a quaint little town past Shoeburyness and has Barling and foulness attached. I’ve been coming to wakering most of my teenager and adult years, due to my best friend living here. There’s not much, a few, pubs and shops and and a couple of food places nothing major but it’s a lovely little place. Now Mim Spice isn’t big but it’s decked out nice and very welcoming. It’s got a great menu and the food is just fabulous. We have had takeaway from here, the sit down menu and also the Sunday buffet they do and I cannot say I’ve ever had a bad experience or meal. Sunday buffets haven’t a major range but for the price (so good) it’s got enough for people’s needs and we love it Staff are friendly and attentive and prices are great. I hope it doesn’t change because it’s just fab!

This Indian Resturant is tucked away in The village of Great Wakering and offers excellent value for money a wide choice of dishes and beautifully cooked.... whilst in this of the track village it’s reputation is widely known and advance booking is preferable

I’d gone right off Indian, after receiving ‘same sauce’ with varying chilli flavour from most Indian restaurants.. and no one seemed to be able to do a nice authentic Ceylon ... I WAS WRONG!...very impressed with the Ceylon, the pathia and butter chicken.. plus accompaniments..my only comment would be the chapattis didn’t seem to be gram flour based. Despite this, I would definitely order from the Mim again. Thank you xx.

On arrival the staff couldn't do enough for us .but they don't get in your face.food was excellent. No hitch ups at all. A very nice dinning experience. Will be using the restaraunt very soon

This was the first time we'd used Mim Spice. We normally use a restaurant & take away in Thorpe Bay. I ordered online (mains king prawn Pathia & lamb Kharahi plus rice, bharji, aloo gobi, naan etc) & collected & paid at the time shown on the email.Sadly the expected Kharahi was in fact a Kashmiri which is very mild with banana in it. When I worked out what had happened I phoned the restaurant - very apologetic & offered to bring the correct dish out but as I'd already eaten half of it & my wife was well into her prawns I declined, The prawn & side dishes were well cooked & very pleasantly spiced, the naan & poppadoms better than the take away we usually use - but for me the meal was spoilt by the main being the wrong (very bland) dish. At the time of ordering & collecting it wasn't busy and the email confirmation shows the correct dish - so please double check what is being sent out.However, we all make mistakes. Everything else was very nice and had it been the right dish this would have been a 4 or 5 star review. Will I use them again? Probably. But if I do I'll compare what was ordered with what's written on the containers!

Visited to try their Sunday Buffet, we normally would get a takeaway from here. The food was very tasty, I would have given 5 stars but think they needed a slightly larger selection of dishes.

Small restaurant tables close together but the atmosphere, friendly staff and good food make it a good place to eat. Have eaten in and had takeaway both good quality.

We order from Mim Spice often and it is always great food. Their range is pretty extensive and you can always feel comfortable trying something new. Keep up the excellent work.

Went to the restaurant on a Friday night, atmosphere was amazing everyone was friendly including the staff very bubbly and up for a conversation. Spoke to the waiter he recommended us some dishes which was very helpful too. Food was amazing taste buds were jumping with joy. Full of flavour and very succulent pieces of chicken and lamb. The mix grill is phenomenal and the smell is beyond anything. Overall fantastic evening will be returning again and again!

Family visit for the Sunday buffet. Restaurant clean and tidy, staff attentive but not intrusively so. Good variety of dishes available and staff willing to prepare something else for a more fussy eater. All dishes tried and all very flavoursome. Excellent value for money.

Food arrived on time, friendly delivery driver. Food was incredible! I love the chicken tikka masala. Unlike some Indian takeaways they actually put a lot of chicken in the dishes not just 4 chicken chunks. Would highly recommend

Email confirmed delivery time of 19:00, food arrived at 18:15. At the time the food arrived, we weren’t prepared for it, as we anticipated it arriving around the confirmed delivery time. That said, the food was very tasty. The review for ‘restaurant service’ is not applicable but have to leave a score.

Went here with a friend and we were the only ones in the restaurant all evening. The waiter appeared to not really want to be there, let alone serve us. My mushroom rice was good, which was just as well because the meat was just awful. It was supposed to be minced lamb but was lumps of fat and gristle in a really, really bland sauce.The waiter was really rude and said it was my fault as I chose it! He couldn't have cared less. I really wish now that I refused to pay for that dish, but I did and we left. Will never go there or recommend it to anyone. Awful awful place & man. Hope his boss reads this!

I don’t normally leave reviews on just eat, but I was so pleased with my meal this time, I had to chime in. great tasting food, wasn’t oily like many Indian takeaways, and the flavour really popped. our new go-to Indian takeaway!

The food was very good but the wait was disappointing. First my requested time for delivery allowed a full hour which ought to be enough. The restaurant added 20 minutes to provide their estimate and then missed their estimate by 25 minutes. No apology was offered. Such a shame!

Gorgeous food , very generous portions , and an extremely quick delivery service , we have eaten here before both in the restaurant and take away , will continue to use mimms and would highly recommend them.

I fancy myself as a bit of an Indian cook but who am I kidding. Mim Spice food is excellent. I have no qualms about taking friends there as I know they will always enjoy the food. The staff are brilliant even when we pull their legs and give as good as we do. Thank you all at Mim Spice.

Always quality food and always consistent. Food quality is good and flavoursome, never oily like some others. Definitely the nicest I've had in the area so far and first choice for indian style food. Reasonable price and nice varied flavours and choice. Highly recommended.

Como esas botellas barato comprar en un supermercado barato. Pequeñas porciones con sustancia justo esta salsa horrible! Considerado el camino precios exagerados también especialmente para tan poca calidad.

Lovely food but they only sent 1 salad(should have been 2)and they forgot to include my onion salad-which was ordered and paid for!Didn't ruin the meal but it was a bit disappointing...

Excellent tikka vindaloo, fast delivery, best indian in the southend area.. I only wish they would make it hotter or add a phall or naga curry to menu, I like it HOT HOT :-)

Not as much meat in a portion as last time- chicken tikka massala was a little bland and meat dry.

We love the food and friendliness at this restaurant. Have been regulars for several years and the food is always very good quality.

The food was fantastic as always. The driver mentioned he had difficulty finding us which became clear as the food was unfortunately cold. We had to heat it up in the microwave before eating.

Average food, very grateful that we were given a table on a Saturday night without booking but to be honest the food was at best average. Don't know whats gone wrong with Indian food these days, I feel that all the food is precooked solid meat with sauce slopped over it. This is the only Indian restaurant in Great Wakering so they have a captive audience you two choices take it or leave it, so sad!

Been going here every week since opened. Great food great guys best in wakering. Can't wait for next saturday

Food was great but too nearly 90 mins to arrive and something was missing.

The food is good however massively let down by their delivery times twice now. Will never order from here again. Told hour for delivery (just about acceptable) only to have another 30 mins added AFTER my order has gone through and money taken.. It's now been nearly two hours and still no food. Shocking service. Shouldn't accept the orders in the first place!!!

Food was tasty but the portion sizes were appalling on this order. Normally the containers are full and we have lots left over (there's only 2 of us) but this time the containers were half full, especially the sag paneer which was probably a third full and quite watery and all the food was gone. I understand it's a Saturday night but almost 2 hours to deliver 5/6 dishes isn't great - maybe have some more delivery people on busy nights? Can't comment on restaurant service as we didn't go in there.

Great food as always but turned up 50 minutes late and half the curries ordered were half portions. Very disappointing

Heaven forbid, I am becoming a grumpy diner. We have not eaten Indian for some time. We have been so bitterly disappointed by the excuse that is served up theses days in indian restaurants, once upon a time our all time favourite food . They try to pass off low quality meat as authentic, when its more like cheap hard pre cooked meats saturated in sauces of equal non authentic origin. Lesson learned. Hard gristle filled meat, in luke warm slop, floppy narns , greasy, oily sides. Sorry bad meal and no return. In fact that's it for us, no more Indian food ever again, anywhere.

The food was second rate...what restaurant dresses lumps of fat up as meat and serves it? Never! They buy in their naans so you get a rubber one instead of a properly cooked one.Never again! Yuk!

We have just had a really enjoyable meal at mim spice . The buffet food is tasty and hot . The service by staff really good . A very enjoyable afternoon.

To celebrate a family member's birthday, eleven of us visited the Mim Spice one Saturday evening in December 2016 - our first trip there. After receiving a warm welcome and being taken to our reserved table, drinks were ordered and we were allowed plenty of time to study the extensive menu.Poppadums and starters were excellent and we were all looking forward to our main course. However, it was clear that there were staffing problems during this evening as we had to wait what seemed an age for our mains and there was a fair gap time-wise between the first person in our party being served and the last one. We also couldn't help but notice a table of four seated nearby who had waited around an hour for their food and ended-up paying for their drinks and walking out. Such a shame....Onto the actual food, various chicken and lamb dishes were chosen whilst I went for the 'Shazbi Sizzler' - vegetables cooked in a medium / hot sauce and very nice it was too. The rice and side dishes I managed to try were also tasty. The only negative comments I heard came from the korma and passanda diners who were of the opinion that their meals were far too creamy here at the Mim Spice when compared to eating these dishes elsewhere.All in all, we had a good time at this restaurant which had a relaxing atmosphere about it. The staff were friendly - only to be let down by their number - but it was excellent in terms of value. Staff shortages aside, I would certainly consider making another trip to the Mim Spice.

The restaurant resolved an issue with actual delivery time vs just eat stated delivery time. Thank you. Food was hot, tasty and great quality. We will ask for extra spicy next time as food wasn't very spicy. I would order again.

The food arrived 15 minutes late and was a bit cold when it did eventually get delivered. Otherwise tasty meal would order again, as long as food is warmer.

Nice little place with friendly staff. The crab on puri starter was very nice but the chicken tikka was a bit on the dry side and not as tender as my local takeaway. The vindaloo sauce wasn't very spicy yet it was quite thick. Egg fried rice was nice as was the nan bread. Over all not to bad but it's not somewhere I would choose to go again.

I ordered a takeaway form the restaurant on a Wednesday evening. When I arrived it was luke warm at best. It all tasted lovely, but I had to put it in the microwave for 3 minutes to be able to enjoy it.
