Popped in last night for a meal. The food was amazing and the staff so friendly. The problem I have as an Indian is finding a restaurant that does authentic Indian food. I can honestly say that I finally a decent place to visit when I come here to Nottingham. Definitely one of the best I have tried.

Despite booking, there seemed to be an issue when we arrived with finding us a table and we didn’t feel at all welcomed, not even the usual cheery hello, being ignored by about 4 members of staff. We waited nearly 10 minutes for a drinks order to be taken, then neither of the two ciders on the drinks list were available. The service throughout the meal was very haphazard, with multiple servers, none of whom seemed to know what others were doing! In terms of the food, the Chicken Sagwala contained lamb and the Adha Doniya Chicken dish was 80% green pepper (although there was no mention of green peppers on the dish description and I’m unable to find any recipe that suggests the inclusion of peppers). Since my husband can’t eat peppers it meant his meal was spoilt. Overall the restaurant seemed disorganised and chaotic. My reviews of India Village have previously been excellent but after this experience we may not bother returning.

We popped in for a snack while out shopping on Melton Road. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The decor is quite nice with plenty of gujarati quotes on the walls. The service was good and our food arrived quite quickly and was nice and hot. The food tasted home made. Great place to pop in and grab a bite to eat. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Following a visit on 22/03 as a large party of 22 we wanted to leave a review, by means of a huge thankyou to the Royal Bengal for making a family members 80th Birthday celebrations, so memorable! You were attentive to the parties every need, delivered quality food and the service was absolutely brilliant! All of our meals were truly delicious and not one of us had a single complaint! All food arrived to the table at the same time, was hot and absolutely amazing! You really did go above and beyond in catering for a mentally impaired member of our party, who had specific dietary needs, and for that we also would like to thank you! Thank you to Naz who was brilliant all night, we will for sure be back! You really did make the night so special, we will be recommending the Bengal to all of our friends and family!

Please note….this is no longer in Alford, it is now in Mablethorpe on Victoria Road. It is also called Mo’s and not Nayeemas. It is really difficult to find as there isn’t really a sign outside. There is also no car park available other than a very small amount of on street parking. It’s a very strange place and doesn’t look like an Indian restaurant, it seems like they’ve not long moved from Alford as the restaurant is tiny, I’d say only caterers for 20 people maximum. They also do not have their alcohol licence yet so are unable to serve alcohol, however you are able to take your own alcohol. Soft drinks are available. Booking is advisable as it’s such a small place at the moment. The food was delicious! I had a chicken tikka masala and my partner had a chicken korma, the chicken was cooked to perfection. If you are an average size portion eater then sharing a curry, rice and naan bread between 2 is more than enough. We ordered one each of everything not realising how big the portions were! The naan breads are homemade and absolutely delicious! The restaurant also does takeaway, which can be collected or they do deliver (charges apply) The young lady who served us…I believe her name may have been Bobby. She was absolutely brilliant, she was about the only person there doing anything! She managed every table by herself and dealt with the people coming in for collections. The other people working there seem to have inappropriate conversations too close to public ears, and really like to moan about each other! But in summary, the food was fantastic and Bobby was an amazing waitress. Worth a visit.

Absolutely fantastic experience every time! The food is consistently delicious, bursting with authentic Indian flavors, and beautifully presented. The service is top-notch — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. What really stands out is how the staff go above and beyond, even when the hiccup has been on our end. They’ve always handled everything with such grace and generosity. Can’t recommend this place enough!
