Nadee Restaurant in South Derbyshire

I absolutely love this place! The food is incredible and the location is nice and relaxing! You can sit outside next to the canal if the weather is good or stay inside in their recently refurbished restaurant. There is plenty of parking and areas for kids to play! Outdoors they also have gazebo options which are perfect to go with an infant and keep them protected from the sun but still be outside. I have been going to this place for years and will continue doing so.

Delicious, authentic Indian food. Shared prawn puri, channa puri, fish pakora, saag chicken, tarka dhal, prawn curry, butter chicken, rice and various naans between 4. All tasted like home cooked food in nice relaxed environment 👍🏻

Fabulous setting, friendly staff and very tasty food. The only downside I found it too noisy for me.

Weddings play a big role in all of our life's, when I contacted Nadee Restaurant I was 100% convinced that this is the place when I spoke to the management on the phone. NAV & VICKY asked me to drop in for a tour & provided a snacks while discussing the wedding event. Notes were made everything from start to finish was a done in a professional manner. On the day both were present which was one less stress to worry about. They were very courteous, and extremely accommodating to our guests all who came from different parts of the country. The function rooms were immaculately clean 👌 you can even see your reflection through the marble floor, so much light in the building & outside a massive carpark with a security attendant directing vehicles on approach. Visited for the first time in many years to celebrate our friend's birthday - very, very impressed with the quality and authenticity of all the food served - from excellent starters to superb mains, we could fault nothing and left extremely satisfied. Will definitely return.

Came for the Thurs bike night, great atmosphere and bbq in garden with burgers as well as the option of a curry from the main restaurant. Drink prices are a little higher, but nothing unexpected. Plenty of parking for bikes on the night with an area blocked off for parking.

Great place and atmosphere in a great location. High recommended.

Be wary if booking Christmas or New Years Eve Party nights, they are attended and over taken by large groups of Travellers and Gypsies. Which became very intense and intimidating! This is a heads up for families, it’s not an environment I wanted my children to be in and if I had known we wouldn’t have booked.

We enjoyed our visit to this resto recently. Very nostalgic vibes. Authentic, aromatic, delectable meals. Our waiter was courteous, attentive, and knew the menu well. The food options are nice and I felt my littles left here very satisfied! We’ll be back. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Been passing this place for years so decided to try out. Food was nice that was it really. Don't think they liked the fact we walked in without a booking. Life is busy, not always possible to book! Walked all the way around looking for the entrance. Seemed more like a bar than a restaurant. We were placed in a hall so dimly lit it was hard to see the menu & the food! Staff were distant. They wanted until we'd pretty much finished to ask if the meal was ok. Paid our bill & left without pudding or extras.... Odd place... Not rushing back...

Amazing decor and amazing chicken biryani

Very impressed with our meal at Nadee tonight. We stopped by after walking our dog along the canal. Great atmosphere, plenty of space at table and lots of outdoor seating with nice views over the canal. They allowed us to bring our dog on a lead. We were served by Kyra, who was very friendly and attentive and clearly very knowledgable of the food they serve. She was able to advise us well on the varied dishes and help us select. Service was fast, and the food tasted great. Highly recommend!

This place is brilliant! With an outdoor beer garden. Food is great and so are the drinks. They’ve really stepped up their game by inviting food vendors on top of their already great menu. There’s DJ with cracking music for selected weekends so worth giving it a Visit.

Great friendly staff at the bar and nice bar food Unfortunately our food was brought to the table in an incredibly rude manner. The chap told us he was going to bring a brush over so our children could sweep the table in the pod near the sandpit. We advised him it was made by the children who had been at that table previous. I do wonder if that sandpit is more hassle than it’s worth there We ate our food and left quickly. It’s unfortunate how one person can have such a negative impact on what is a nice place. He’s clearly had a bad day (we heard him being terse with another member of staff) and I hope he’s ok But unlikely we’ll be back, next time we’ll head to the dragon.

I had my wedding here, and it was the best venue to have it in. The outside view is spectacular and the service here is class. We had a memorable day!

Refurbished and opened as a bar. A la carte on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Menu is similar, staff is same and friendly as usual. Food quality is good and tasty. Decor has improved.

Visited on a Sunday night for a family birthday meal. Couldn’t fault the staff, always attentive and made the occasion special. Food quality was excellent and in good portions, only downside was that the prices seemed to be extortionate compared to other curry houses. Also good to see a good range of beers on draught, whereas some curry houses only have a limited range.

Lovely food at a good price. The Madras was quoted as "the best I've ever tasted" from my friend, and he's a connoisseur of curry! Friendly and attentive service.

My family and I left here a little disappointed having wanted to visit for a good while due to observing how pleasant the building and outdoor canal side seating areas are. Sadly, the interior resembles a roadside cafe and does not match the promise of the outdoor area; the layout is quite confused - in places it resembles a pub, in other places a residential home...and the decor is stark. Everything feels cheap and not cheerful, including even the actual menus. The food was OK - nothing exceptional but nothing bad either. We were all satisfied with our choices but not blown away. We had all expected better quality, especially considering the prices - it is expensive for what you actually get. The service was good - not overly friendly, but very efficient. Would we go back? Not sure...I could imagine sitting outside on a warm summer evening enjoying "tikka and chips" as a pub meal, but none of us would return for a formal sit down meal inside or consider it a go to restaurant. Shame.

Sorry been going on and off for years but the quality of microwaved cheap meat and tasteless sauce , meat factory squared dry and tasteless , clearly no effort anymore , shame as I used to love the place , great setting , £90 for3 people including drinks and most went in the bin,

Lovely place for drinks but the food was bland and portions of the vegetarian curries were very small. The rice we got with the meal couldn't have been more than 200 grams and was not enough to sate anyones appetite.

Good location on the canal. Next door was doing a Indian BBQ which we purchased some tikka kebabs which were very nice.

Tasty food and friendly staff. The car park is very large so no need to worry about that. We were seated straight away having reserved a table for 7. Drinks were served swiftly. Food portions were a good size so there was little waste. Nobody was left wanting more though. A friendly atmosphere.

Small menu, but done very well. Choice of curries and hot sizzling dishes. Fish pakoras were sublime, crunch batter with flaky fish. Selection of wines and beers to choose from. Even though not on the menu, I got two soft and crispy chappattis, delicious. Great parking facilities with a large outside sitting area next to the picturesque canal and great to have a pint and catch the sun. Can't fault it. Grab a paddle board and come visit or even catch the odd barge floating past.

We have previously travelled from Nottingham to meet friends here for meals on special occasions. There used to be a menu with lots of choices presented in a stylish cover. We were disappointed to be presented with a menu that was severely cut down to a few main dish choices in a hastily printed out laminated sheet. Few of the choices were what we hoped to eat. Not sure if this is under new management, however it is no longer a place that is special enough to justify travelling to. If you are just after an average restaurant with little choice a short distance away then this place is fine.

Great customers service for seating in food was we spent £74.75 amazing, we then spent the same amount for the family another £78.65 for takeaway and tbh we really didn't enjoy it. A waste of money, the food was to spicy never have I had a really spicy masala I can't eat hot due to health conditions so that was a waste. The onion bargies, halloumi cheese, veg samosas were dripping full of grease there went in the bin. It wasn't like this when we sat in. I feel they take more care of the way the food is cooked with eat-in than takeaway. I'm very disappointed. Not sure if I'll return unless I get a response from this. I'm not going to to be happy on with we will give you money off next time. I've already spent near £200 with you.

We actually was enjoying a drive thru Derbyshire when we discovered this Gem of a restaurant, a converted pub which has beautiful gardens leading onto the canal side. Not only making this accessible by car, but boat too. We booked a table for two on Sunday 22nd August we arrived and was met by an abundance of parking spaces. We entered the restaurant via the rear leading onto a well equipped garden, with tables, brollies, a sandpit for the children and plenty of grounds for children to utilise. We were greeted by a polite, tentative waiter who gave us the choice of tables, there was a big Indian family dining always a good sign. The waiter took our drinks order and gave us the menu, the menu offered a small range of Indian starters, mains, rices and breads. Also for diners who don’t like Indian. Food there was a English option and a tapas option. There was a good children’s menu too. We ordered popadoms and pickle tray, I had chicken tikka, my husband had the chicken jalfrezi, a mushroom rice and a garlic naan. The surroundings were authentic Indian plenty of wooden carvings, tasteful pictures, white table cloths and rich burgundy decor. The starter arrived and the pickles were to die for, a onion salad, a chutney and the original mint yoghurt with a twist of something. I am quite a popadom and pickle critic but these were very good. We were also informed that the meat was Hal Hal and the chefs were obviously Muslim. The kitchen was spotless I got a view every time the waiter and waitress went in there. The mains were delivered to the table in a timely fashion and there was a good portion of well proportioned chicken pieces in the authentic curry. I’ve been to far too many eateries that serve it swimming in curry and lacks a good portion of chicken, this was not the case here. It’s obvious by having a smaller menu offering at this establishment allows them to do the dishes to a high standard that to me is better than a catologue of dishes done badly. What I liked about this place even the naans were exceptional, not too mention the pickle tray. Would I recommend definitely, would I return definitely. Keep up the good work it puts you a cut above the other restaurants.

The food is always good but the only thing that really let's it down is the lacklustre approach to customer service. Sometimes you are kept waiting for ages when you want to order another drink or the empty plates are not taken away quickly enough. The price of a curry now, including a rice and naan bread is over £15, even closer to £20 if you have lamb or prawn. That is ridiculous. Would definitely recommend.

I called Nadee as we needed a last minute venue to hold around 20 people for a surprise 1st year anniversary party for my other half’s fitness studio - A.S Movement🥇 the whole Nadee team were super awesome! Last minute booking - 1 day notice - super quick and easy!✅ Surprise planning - everyone stuck to the story and played along which helped build suspense for the moment!✅ Room layout was really flexible - had it exactly the way I wanted it✅ Food was delicious - had so many compliments!✅ Bar is close-by so really easy to get drinks✅ Staff were really flexible - got everything I wanted and really fast✅ Cake was stored away and containers provided for takeaway✅ Dedicated host Nav is Service from the staff, again, was impeccable. Shout out to Kyra for sorting everything little thing for me - clearing tables, sorting a doorstop, finding my car keys and keeping hold of them for me✅🥇 they made it effortless!

Having checked the previous day that the Sunday Special offer was still operating and being told that it was, we booked a table for lunch. Ordered drinks , no problem. Then it became clear the offer was not operating. We explained what we had been told. We pointed out that the menu clearly explained the offer. It cut no ice with the staff. It is not so much the money- perhaps a £10 saving for two people but there is a point of principle. It could be said that they are deliberately enticing customers with a false and invalid offer which they have no intention of honouring. Poor business practice.

the menu although limited catered for all tastes and food was high quality and fairly priced, the restaurant was modern with a beautiful view of the canal.At sometime in the future I'll return.

A lovely location to stop for tea.

Lovely food however we asked for leftovers to take home. Staff refused to pack it and said staff would eat it. If we want to take home we would have to pay again for take out!! Requested to speak to manager who was "unavailable". Not being funny but we paid for the food why are we paying for staff to eat it?

I have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Naveed with my partner. The place is very clean, attentive and polite staff and the food was absolutely beautiful throughout. A good choice of drinks and a nice outdoor drinking area next to the canal. We will most definitely be attending again

Fantastic service by all food was good, nice selection and severed in good time, a lovely evening, could do with a little spruce up.. But still worth a visit... Worth adding a walk to Willington.. Mercia marina or the stenson bubble all walkable via the canal..

We've visited Stenson /Willington for a few years and enjoyed the local restaurants /bars, Nadee included, and have had nothing but praise until now. We visited Nadee at around 8pm and its wasn't too busy, we ordered a healthy starter of three portions of poppadoms...

Very good experience. We went for some food and sat outside. The service is excellent. The staff are well trained and professional. Also polite and friendly. My partner dropped his wallet there and didn't realize until later on. Next day he rang the Nadee. They had found the wallet and it was returned intact. Restores faith in people.
