Indigo indian restaurant and take away in Bolsover

Rubbish i payed 32 quid for two currys one was the wrong curry.and the lamb bhuna had no spice init.dont bother go somewhere else.

excellent everything! food/service/ambiance/hospitality. we went as 2 families (9 people total) and their service was great, from suggesting the kids share dishes (as they are big portions) to all the food arriving at the same time, our glasses were always full without the waiter being invasive, they took their time to take our order and check it twice, im the type of guy who finds problems with everything, and here, there were no issues at all. now the food, the food was the best i have ever had in indian cuisine, we ordered a variety of dishes and all tasted each others, and they were all amazing, the naans were the size of a dinner plate and tasted perfect. excellent restaurant! thank you again for a wonderful experience.

Beautiful place, really clean, lovely atmosphere. The people who run Indigo are the friendliest people you will meet. Nothing is too much trouble and they will adapt their cooking to suit your palate with the spices, sauces etc. Food was outstanding, absolutely delicious! Daughter had 2 poppadoms and a pickle tray for starter and a vegan paneer masala with boiled rice for her main meal. Hubby and I had the dine in special at £14.50 for 2 courses and a poppadom each. We both had chicken tikka for our starter. For mains I had chicken shashlika with pilau rice. Hubby had lamb bhuna and pilau rice. (,They do a slimmers chicken shaslik too.) Vegsn menu is excellent, lots to choose from. We also had a naan bread and a portion of fries, 2 pints of lager, a pint of diet coke, 2 glasses of rose wine. Total cost was £76. Portions are very generous sizes. Absolutely brilliant prices for what you get. We have been to lots of places but always enjoy going here and have yet to find anywhere that can better it. It's the gem of Shirebrook!

Amazing evening at indigo for my sons birthday meal food was delicious 😋 staff was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us 👍

We ordered a takeaway for 4 on an early Friday evening. The delivery was late but the food was warm enough but of very poor quality. The butter chicken and Chicken Makhani were full of very red sauce and very little else. Both the lamb curries tasted as if the chef had forgotten to put any spices in. The paneer saag dish contained hardly any paneer and the raita was tasteless. The naans insufficiently baked and had the texture of cardboard. in short the worst Indian takeaway it has ever been my misfortune to order. We were embarrassed as we had recommended this place to our guests who were similarly disappointed. Avoid at all costs!

Beautiful food, atmosphere, and customer service. They go above and beyond to make the experience amazing. The food was piping hot and the flavours were amazing. We had meat samosas and a spicy and plain naan for starters with the dips and they were all amazing. We then ordered the lamb tikka masala and chicken tikka, I asked for the lamb tikka masala to have more spice and they did that for us. They were checking if we were okay and needed anything regularly and were always available to help. We paid mostly in cash except for £2.50 that was left and our card declined and we realised that we needed to transfer it from our savings, as we were doing that they said no don’t worry the cash is enough, I offered to bring down the money later and they said no it’s fine have a great night and gave us chocolates to leave with. They were so lovely and I would highly recommend indigo to anyone!!

The food is delicious, plentiful and on the cheaper side, the staff are unbelievably friendly. Even without taking into account how small and impoverished Shirebrook is, Indigo is undoubtedly the best place in town

After reading all the good reviews We ordered and was due to be delivered @ 17:30 It arrived at 20:00. The Onion barges were small. The lamb was tough. There were several hard pieces in the meal,dont know what they were . We left the meal. Will not use this place again. Worst Indian I have ever had

I’ll start off by saying, we have used Indigo for ages now usually spending around £70 to £80 each time. We have never had any issues, till last week. I placed the order (it was a big order, as we get together as a family), ordering each persons food individually so it would be easy to keep track on what was ordered. When it came to collection, the bags were all named, so we knew that everyone’s food had been collected. Drove the food home (about a 10 minute drive), unpacked all the food (which wasn’t overly hot but definitely eatable) to find that one of the orders was missing. I contacted the restaurant straight away, but couldn’t get through which was understandable as it was a Saturday night. After around 15 minutes of trying, I eventually got through. I explained that the order was wrong, the guy on the phone said that he knew and that my bag was there waiting. I said that I didn’t want that bag, as the food that I had collected was just warm, so food that had been waiting for almost half an hour would be cold. He said he would cook a fresh batch and deliver it, and put the phone down before I could give my address. At this point, I started to get annoyed. I tried to call back, but couldn’t get through for another 10 minutes. I gave my address, the guy said the food was ready and on the to me. Now, when he said “on the way to me” I assumed he meant that the restaurant had finished cooking the food, and as I called, was ready to be sent out to me. Perfect. I’m only 10 minutes away. Clearly, I misunderstood when he said that, and meant that the food was coming from actual India. After an hour of waiting, my food still hadn’t arrived, and they weren’t picking up the phone. My call log states that I placed my original order at 18:03. At 20:05, my food still hasn’t arrived. When it eventually came, over two hours after I ordered it and over an hour after he said “it’s on the way”, I had gone past being hungry. The delivery driver was nice, and gave the food to him, as he said I couldn’t have my money back for the order that came over two hours late. On the plus side, the food that I collected for the rest of the family was nice apparently.

We’ve been to the indigo numerous times and never had a bad meal and the service is always excellent. We’ve also had some takeaways from there and it’s always within the time said and always delicious. The best place in Shirebrook for a meal. Can’t wait to go back!

Curry House is top notch! Faz and the team deliver excellent food and service every time I have been in. Would highly recommend Indigo; Dhansak is the best I’ve had and they do the best onion bhaji this side of Bengal!

We have been visiting Indigo for many years now and never ever has there been a bad or poor meal the staff are all excellent and nothing is to much trouble. I will give a special mention to Faz who's aim is to always give 100% in what he does and his heart is running Indigo and making it a restaurant you will return to again and again. At the moment Indigo is only takeaway but the food is still top quality and never poor, its like I would get sitting down for my meal,we have a takeaway every Saturday and are always highly satisfied. We have yet to eat an Indian meal that can beat Indigo and one that gives such a warm welcome as Faz does.. Well done... 10/10

Takeaway took nearly 2 hours to be delivered tonight and when it finally arrived it was luke warm and not particularly enjoyable, I personally wouldn’t want to experience one of their takeaways again.

Definitely gone down hill, coconut rice only half filled a small fool tray! Chicken tandoori had little to no meat in it. Mixed kebab was tiny and coated in burnt onion. Salad consisted of 1 piece of tomato, one slice of cucumber and shredded cabbage. Mint dips rancid all for just under £30.even delivery man seemed miserable I normally tip well, but this time I paid exact and it wasn't worth that. Chinese next time. Indigo as a take away expensive and dissapointing.

Had a takeaway, Naan bread was raw, Saag aloo was nice but Onion Bhajis were cold and dry, out of a packet. Wished we had just had a supermarket meal instead. Called to complain, they just said we'll replace it, over half hour later two peshwari's turned up but again very poor. Wont be using these again in a hurry.

Had to write something, can anyone shine a light on my question, recently had two visits to Indigo, both meals were excellent like usual, but the time frame on both occasions must have trebled, which on the first meal had individuals wanting to order on their mobiles to get meals brought in from just eat. I had the question asked of me that I did not appear happy, maybe not when ppl around me were giving up and thinking of getting breakfast earlier. We are giving the restaurant a rest for a while, we as a family hope they will still be there

First time trying this place and will be the last. Placed order for takeaway and waited for an hour and 20 mins before a staff member asked what was the order. We then find it's been given to someone else, yes mistakes happen, yes its saturday and maybe busy but had someone not thought he had been waiting a while. Refind given but come in guys when someone is waiting that long surely you would know something isn't right. We deffo wont be coming again just for the unprofessionalism of how it was dealt with.

Booked online for 7pm, didn’t get our takeaway until 7:20pm...don’t mind waiting if the food is good but everything was bland. I had chicken sagwala that says medium hot, no spice whatsoever, same for the rogan Josh and the lamb bhuna. They were mild at best with no flavour, they all tasted the same. The chicken was fine in the main dishes but the lamb very tough. The chicken tikka starter meat was very dry and again tasteless. The only thing we actually liked were the dips. Paid for pickle tray and poppadoms online when most likely would have had them free...not obvious when ordering. All this for a whopping £35.70 should have been £40 but had an online 10% discount.

We ordered online and still had to wait 30 mins to collect,the food was presented well but all three main dishes were tasteless,the lamb was chewy, and chicken starter was very dry, £35 waisted, I will not be back

Visited Indigo a few weeks ago with the wife and we had a very nice meal.

We have not been for a while, new life over the fence, trying the new grass so to speak. Home visit would not have been complete without a meal out and yet again a no brainer, Indigo was a must. We always come out completely satisfied, but this occasion seemed even more exceptional the individual meals surpassed expectations, we told the staff, suppose they were little perplexed due to same chef, the meal was absolutely spot on so you have to comment right? We left full and content, looking forward to the next visit, said before why don't they spread their brilliance and open new ventures, like close to us. Cheers Indingo.

Staff are very friendly, food was OK, freshly cooked. A little on the expensive side but you do get large portions. We had a chicken tikka (starter), garlic lamb (main), saag (spinach) paneer (side dish) plus 1 nan bread and 1 puree cost £15.50. Free dips, salad and a papadum with every main.

Second trip to this Indian in Shirebrook, excellent food, as good a Indian as I have had in this country. Special King Prawn was very special as was my Razzelo, will be sure to return and explore the menu. Considering the quality, very reasonable, under £90 for four, pickle tray, 3 starter and four mains, two off the specials.

One of our party had chips the previous evening so it was a no brainer, Indigo of course, local, brilliant, excellent expectations from numerous occasions, and the knowledge you receive fantastic reception, and of course we were correct, Spot on again, all extremely satisfied with our choices. One complaint though, got full before I finished, had to leave a small amount.

We have moved away so only get the spasmodic opportunity to decide if we have the chance to dine, the decision was made, yeah, so we called in last night. The meal was excellent like always, the crew there always make you welcome too, like coming home, tear, tissue, thank you. We have a great Tandori where we now reside, bigger, more space, numerous waiters, bar staff, etc etc. We always wonder who's the best, on balance each have their own qualities, so even each other out, will deduce that they both will keep getting our calls, miss these guys though, brilliant atmosphere, created by the attention you get. Already wondering when we can go back, this is on top of being on a food plan, not mention the organisation, but it was worth the weigh in result, love this place.

We went in big group, honestly service and food faultless, best Indian I have ever been too. Definitely be returning. Would highly recommend

Went last night to Indigo after numerous recommendations from friends and family - I'm always a bit sceptical when having take away curries as sometimes eat in food doesn't travel so well. I opted for my usual Naga Chicken Chilli something that wasn't on the menu but the guys there made me one especially and boy was it good - amazing in fact. All the food including the pickle tray was excellent. Just need to try the sit down menu totally recommend this restaurant.

Order take away from here and visit the restaurant to sit in on a regular basis and never have any problems, always comes hot and a speedy delivery and we love that they do stop the clock on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday if we fancy a meal out. Tonight we ordered and they forgot my salad and mint sauce which I didn't really mind to be fair so didn't bother ringing to say they'd forgot it, but a few minutes later we had a knock at the door and they'd brought it with some extra popadoms and were very apologetic, 10/10 for service. Friendly chaps and always get a free drink on a special occasion which is nice, couldn't recommend enough.

What really made me like this place was that on one occasion a member of our party had some special Dietary requirements and the chef bent over backwards to accommodate , ive heard that this is the norm at this place . The helpful attitude of the staff made their delicious food shine

Falsely claimed a dish was dairy free after I enquired because of an allergy. A few days later I ordered food and after eating I was very ill. Called again and asked if it was dairy free, again they said yes. After pushing the question it turned out that the food was not dairy free at all. Avoid like the plague if you have dietary requirements...

Great food really tasty I've eaten in a few Indian restaurants and this one is top notch really up there. The staff were very attentive and polite and couldn't do enough for us. The prices were also very good value, I cant recommend enough please eat here and keep this little gem of a restaurant going.

Probamos el 'superar el reloj 'promoción donde pagar por su comida según la hora a la que llegues. El personal era muy amable y el restaurante limpio y ordenado, pero la comida era muy deficiente. El curry no tenía sustancia a ellos y probado de ser 'acolchado' con puré de tomate y cebollas, en lugar de cordero o pollo, o otras especias. Muy normal.

Was okay, but nothing you won't get at any 'average' Indian restaurant in terms of service and food.2 mains were okay with a couple of pieces of 'chewy chicken'. Naan bread was very soft; almost 'soggy'.Not quite 4 stars, would give 3.5 if I could.

We always go with very high expectations, this last visit further enhanced these thoughts. It helps to have a excellent rapport with the staff, that should not distract how thoroughly we all enjoyed the atmosphere and the individual dishes ordered, we took someone who is just embarking on curries, after tasting quite a cross section of all brought to the table I am now sure further visits will result. I can only say a big thank you to all the staff who made this another fond memory.

Never used thr restuarant but if the if the food we have had as takeawayis of the same quality and taste it must be worth a visit.

Going to this excellent Indian restaurant tonight, not been for a while which makes us very sad, the staff are second to none, always make you welcome, interested how you view their currries, want you to have the best experience you can. Get a little jealous due to others in our party getting special attention, especially when free chillies are given, feedback is always appreciated. Will give the report later, not a betting dude but if I was i would place money on it being brilliant again.

We went here tonight it was fabulous we both had Monk fish done differently and it was wonderful. It is the first time we have been here, so long as you forget where you are it is a very good meal and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Really good.

Decided to give this restaurant a try as we have struggled to find a decent Indian that delivers to us. Our search continues, the meal was compiled mainly of sauce with little meat and little taste of spice.

Been waiting for a good takeaway in the area for a while now and got a leaflet through our door for Indigo so thought we'd try it. Spent over £30 so got a free bottle of wine which was great! And the food was BEAUTIFUL! Not had such a good takeaway in a long time. My friends said theirs was quite liquidy but the flavours were good. I had chicken dupiaza and mushroom rice and the flavours and spice were perfect for me. Would definitely definitely order again! Thank you for finally giving us a decent takeaway!

Fabulous food, the staff are very helpful & attentive. Portion sizes are ample and can be taken home if you find them too big. I was not surprised to see that the restaurant was almost full mid week.

Love the food here. It's about the price as most Indian restaurants, to say it's in Shirebrook you would never know when you're inside its a great place great food and the staff are very welcoming would defo recommend

Once again an excellent meal from a great team. We usually go for a stop the clock ( whatever time you go that's what you pay for entire meal) but they don't do it on Thursdays, that didn't matter meal was delicious very tasty. Husband had never been out for an Indian meal before but he really enjoyed it.

After visiting Indigo for the first time in February (although having lived near by the restaurant for some years) I was pleasantly surprised. We chose the 'Stop the clock' menu which meant the meal was going to cost us £6.50 each for a three course meal, as we were sitting down too dine at 6:30 P.M. We had a pickle tray and popadoms, which was lovely! The garlic chicken tikka to start which arrived with a small side salad which was also extremely tasty. For the main I had the chicken korma with naan bread and boiled rice. The naan bread & rice are included in the price (we shared half and half between family members). The portions are generous, especially when you are reminded that you are only paying £6.50 for your entire meal! The lager was very refreshing, on tap were Mongoose & Kingfisher, although I am sure there are many other refreshments available.Takeaway is also available from this restaurant but if you are in the area I would definitely recommend a sit in visit. I will most definitely be back. A lot!

I have eaten at the restaurant and had take aways many times. The food is always lovely. The restaurant also has a five star hygiene rating from the local council.

Come here regularly. In the week they do stop the clock. So whatever time you get there that's how much you pay for your 4 course meal. The food is excellent. All though stop the clock portions are smaller than off normal menu I found. Overall great place and good food.

Okay. It's a fair drive. But we stumbled upon this little gem by accident one evening. Since then we have been regular visitors. Friendly staff who are always having a laugh. Great service and beautifully cooked dishes. Sat listening to other customers you can tell that this little restaurant has a huge client base. And it's the staff. The service and the amazing food that keeps this place running. Absolutely perfect.

We went to have a meal for 5 we had to wait 90 minutes to get the food and when it arrived it was very small portions with no flavour at all couldn't taste any spice at all I complained they said sorry and took £5 pounds of the bill which I might add was £100 If you are thinking of go for a meal there I would recommend you go to another restaurant

Took the family for my grandsons birthday local restaurant in village food was great large portions staff were great they also gave the kids some free cocktails for is birthday will be going regular from now on

Well what can I say , a brilliant place to eat . We went for the first time for our 1st year together and when we booked I said it was for that . And we were given a lovely complimentary cocktail for free for our celebration . Just little touches that made our visit even better . Chocolates at the end , lovely hot cloth lemon cloth . Portion sizes were great . Prices were also very good . All in all a very enjoyable evening and we will returning very soon .

I went with family for a meal on a Tuesday evening and must say I really enjoyed our meal. The restaurant itself is small but welcoming and friendly. We were a little late being shown to our table but we didn't mind. A few of us ordered there special stop the clock menu and really enjoyed it, we all said how tasty our meals were and very reasonably priced. Two of our party ordered off the main menu and really enjoyed there meal. One of our party (8yr old) didn't have a starter but they obliged by bringing her main course when our starters arrived so she wasn't left out which was nice. We would definitely return as we all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

Our first visit and Indian cuisine is not always top of our list but what a little gem!The service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble, helpful and friendly, superb.The meal was delicious, starter of popadoms and dips exciting in flavours, everyone raved about their main, I tasted tikka masala, korma and buryiani (bad spelling). Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!

I went for the first time with my family last month, and i thought the service was excellent, very pollite and attentive. The portion sizes were the right size and they had plenty of meat in them, I would go again.

We used to love indigo but have noticed their portion sizes are smaller and at 6 pounds for our favourite dish that there was 3 pieces of meat in! There portion sizes are alot smaller also bulked out with onions and tomatoes not what u want or would of ordered a veg dish, naan bread smaller too and rice been dry of late, they really need to get back to how they used to be good tasty food staff are always polite and lovely though just need look at pricing and portion sizes

Love it here! Visited many times for every occasion, in large groups, as a couple, with family. Very cosy, homely atmosphere. The nicest people you could ever meet. Many people return and are on first name terms with the staff. Super efficient service, nothing too much trouble. If you do not like what you see on the menu, they will adapt the recipes to suit you. Cannot fault anything about this place or the people who run it. We have been to lots of Indian restaurants and this is our favourite by far. Kids welcome too. Love it, love it, love it!

There isn't much to recommend at all in Shirebrook but this place stands out as clear favourite of my families and it is a top class curry house and competes with the best.The staff are always friendly and helpful and remember the regulars. The menu is varied and the food is hot, tasty and the service quick and professional. Prices are very reasonable and they do midweek offers. My personal favourite is the tripti balti puri starter followed by a chicken tikka pathia curry and an Indigo special naan accompanied by a couple of pints of the very smooth Mongoose lager.Support this place if your local and if not, give it a try, if you go once you will definitely go back

A gem of a place to have Indian food,much missed by locals and visitors, beat the clock meals are great value, 6 to 8 at night.... Only thing I can critisice is the lighting, very dark ... Staff were attentive and friendly....lucky shirebrook to have such a place to go... A well kept secret ...but put more lights on guys
