Now called Ghurka spice. Gorgeous food lovely service and the chef even came out to check we were enjoying our meal and he’d got it right. 2 poppadams between us and then we share a starter, main, rice and bread. With 2 alcoholic drinks it came to £37.50. Recommended

Had a meal from Delhi nights and was really satisfied. The portion sizes were really generous and the food had lots of flavours. Ordered as take away and was ready when went to collect it. Thoroughly enjoyed it, glad it has re opened.

We have ordered in twice within a two week span and found the food bland, compared to what it use to be. Not sure if their is a new chef. Will give it another try.

Service was good and quick the issue is the food quality. The naan breads was very dry. I also found that the curry's didn't have much meat in them mostly potatoes. This was also the same with the saag paneer only a few pieces of cheese in it and mostly potatoes. I've also never had a saag paneer with potatoes in it. It's like they've not got much in and just filled it up with loads of potatoes.

Went on my wife’s birthday and I beleive it’s under new management 10/10 staff fantastic food 10/10 piping hot and plenty to eat good price and will be going again soon thank you for a lovely night x

Booked for 12 dining. Closed Mondays but opened exclusively for our party. Service excellent , food plentiful , slightly expensive but worth it. They even arranged for Taxi to do 3 runs to get us back to our hotel. So if anyone in the vicinity give it a try. Decor Spotless

Honestly 1 of if not the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Staff are friendly and the food was 10/10. The place was so quiet on a Friday evening there was nobody else in there and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

Ordered a takeaway from Delhi Nights for the first time today. The quality of the food was absolutely fantastic, and the service was brilliant, with prompt delivery. Would definitely recommend.

It's tiny and the parking is a bit hair-raising but the food was excellent. I had the meatiest Keema Naan I have ever eaten. Scrumptious! We were the sole customers eating in, but there was a constant stream of "Just Eat" cartons leaving the premises which testifies to its local popularity.

The food I’d Pathetic, The Chicken is old aged used not even cutting with the Knife, even after asking the Restaurant is not agreeing on accepting it is hard!

Very welcoming staff. Excellent Chicken Methi - this place adds just enough heat to the mix without smothering the taste. Eating a curry shouldn't be an endurance test and Delhi Nights really do get this.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.....we preordered using just eat at 4pm, with an expected delivery time of 17:45, that time came and no food, so after about 10 mins I rang the restaurant to find out where the food was to be told "we're really busy tonight and that'll it'll be with me in 20 mins, then all of a sudden the just eat app updates to say their had been a problem with our order, the delivery time would now be 18:30, so yet again 18:30 rolled around and still no food, so I rang the restaurant to be told its on its way, so we waited another 40 mins and eventually I went out in car to the restaurant to see what was happening and collect it which is a 10 min+ drive away, I pull outside and then my partner rings me to say its just arrived and its all freezing cold, so I get home and yep low and behold its all freezing, poppadoms chewy and bendy, nan bread cold, curry cold, rice cold, onion bhaji soggy and cold, do not use this restaurant unless you want lying to several times and poor cold food, we won't be using them again EVER. If I could rate minus stars I would, I'm fuming.

The manager was very accommodating and recommended us items that she thought we would enjoy. It was very interesting to hear about her background and the work that goes on behind the scenes. Extremely touching and it is very apparent her and her husband put their heart and soul into this business. The food was delicious and it was a very clean and comfortable space. Would definitely recommend to those visiting and hope to return here again if we are ever in this area.

We decided to book in the restaurant instead of having a takeaway. We received a very warm welcome, small but extremely comfy surroundings, friendly professional service with excellent food, we would not have Indian food from anywhere else locally.

Haven’t been to Delhi nights for some time as the food and service wasn’t as expected.Really glad we went back on Wednesday. The service was exceptional and the food oh so good!Looking forward to our next visit and would recommend if a good curry is what you fancy!

There were items missing from my order, mint sauce, onion salad and mango chutney which had been paid for- and 3 pots of lime chutney were sent instead- which went straight in the bin. The chicken tikka starter had 3 pieces of chicken in, the chicken was not marinated with tikka- it was dry and tasteless. The Bombay aloo was very heavily tomato based and the potatoes were skin-on new potatoes which were horrible. This was the worst Indian meal I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’ll never order from Delhi nights ever again. Total waste of £20!

Used Delhi Nights for the first time at the start of lockdown in late March for takeaway. Have since ordered virtually every fortnight. Quality of food excellent on every occasion, such that we won't be using anyone else going forward. Service is prompt and contactless delivery works very well. Plan to have sit down meal in the near future.

We are stopping in the local area and saw this restaurant had good reviews on Just Eat. We decided to collect to get our food quicker. We opted for lohori gosht, matter paneer, sabzi platter, garlic rice and 660ml cobra. It was cheaper to order direct rather than Just Eat, coming to just short of £20. Food was ready within 25 mins. Portion sizes were generous. Thoroughly enjoyed by both. We'd visit again.

The food here is incredible and the people who work here truly care about your experience. Small but cosy restaurant and fabulous takeaway. Apparently opening larger restaurant soon in Somercotes.

have a takeaway weekly due to not being able to sit in, more times than not we have had items missing but it just gets knocked off the next order, but getting a bit fed up now my order was £94 and 3 portions of rice were missing? so the bigger my order the more gets missed, a shame really because the food is fantastic, but what a let down each time to find your food isnt there, so sorry but wont be ordering again

Very overpriced, first time I’ve been here but wasn’t impressed. Spent £45 and revived no extras, normally from my regular Indian we receive add ons for no extra cost. Food was very small portions and seemed like it was microwaved, won’t be ordering again. Try Mumbai masala if you want a high class Indian and get your money’s worth.

Should have got to the restaurant last week with family but due to lock down could not go so had take away tonight for husband birthday order on line very easy to do the food was lovely meat so tender was just has good has it normally is we will be going back to the restaurant has soon has open after lock down

Order was incorrect and food was awful. Chips soggy , Chicken Tikka jalferiz was very strange .. looked like they had run out of proper ingredients and were just using anything to hand. The chicken was the pre-packed stuff you buy in the supermarket from the “cooked meat” area. I appreciate there is a lockdown but it was still £30 wasted , if they can’t get ingredients delivered either offer discount or close. Very poor standards have dropped badly

Soggy popadoms, food was not good. Watery curry, paneer saag was not good. I didn’t dare eat any, hubby ate a bit as he was hungry and not as worried about an upset stomach. First time ordering as was rated high in just eat. Won’t order again. Gross!

I was in the area visiting family and found this place by chance and gave it a go. The staff are very polite and helpful. The dishes I had were great. When I’m back in the area I will definitely use them again. 👍

One of the Best Indian restaurants I have been toI ordered a mixed starter with some papadoms and dip... beautifully presented and tasting even better.My favourite lamb bhuna for main - excellent. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned to a brilliant standard.Three pints of kingfisher to finish - excellently kept, crisp and good head to the bottom of the glass.

Recently moved to the village and we decided to have a curry on the night we moved it. It was lovely. So tasty and everyone was really happy.

Given it was so highly rated and the high prices I expected something special. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. Try elsewhere.

If I could give it 6 stars I would .The food is lovely ( try the lamb hot meat starter ) You won’t get better food anywhere . If you are staying on business locally at the holiday inn this place is a MUST visit . Really friendly people , the manager is a nice chap . I couldn’t get a taxi .. wait was one and a half hours , what did he do ? He got the delivery driver to drop me off at the hotel . Places like this are few and far between , the curry eaters of Alfreton are a lucky bunch . Lastly ..... good value for money !! Thanks guys

Excellent food,very friendly staff, good atmosphere and reasonably priced menu. Easily booked on line and very well presented dishes with plenty of sauce.

We have both visited here and had takeaway and every time we have been so disappointed. Compared to other Indian restaurants in the area it’s a lot more expensive so you would expect it to be a lot better but every dish we have tried was tasteless. We have tried different dishes which all seam to use the same base sauce which doesn’t have a lot of flavour and the breads are definitely not homemade. We have since visited other Indian restaurants in the area which have been so much better and cheaper.

We have had many take aways from here in th past,and only living a ten minute walk away we thought we would try the restaurant. We called at 6.30 sat night.the place was empty,we didn't have to wait long for our meal,we orders a couple of gins each while we waited..I orders the Korma, as always my husband the jalfrezi..one lemon rice one pilau rice.a nan between us..also dips and poppodoms..food came quickly,it all looked and tasted lovely, my only gripe is the portion size is tiny compared to the takeaway amount that you get..our bill was over £60..00..an I don't feel it was worth that..plus you seriously need to change yr premium bottled lemonade,it was awful,it tasted like soda water, it completely spoilt my gin..I dought if I would visit again,after looking forward to it,as we don't eat out in Indian restaurant very ofton but when we do it's a treat for us,which I don't feel it was..very disappointing indeed...

went for a meal after coming back from a holiday, DELICIOUS, never a bad meal ever! the quality never drops the food is always good, and we must have eaten here at least 4 times since our last review, its good to know your guaranteed a nice meal whenever you go, the service is very good too, all the staff do there best to accommodate you and it is a very cosy eating environment

My wife and I visited here Saturday night and had a very nice meal. The staff was all very pleasant and couldn’t do enough for you. Both courses we had was very good nice and hot and very tasty. It was also spotless. We would definitely visit again if we was in the area

I can only add my thoughts to the previous reviews in that we had both a fabulous tasty meals and incredible service from the manager Jack. The food was wonderful in fact one of the tastiest currys ive had in a long while. I will definitely be going the next time im in the area.

My expectations of an Indian restaurant in the small Derbyshire village of Alfreton were not high. But I could not have been more wrong.

Came with my partner for our anniversary. And once again the food was delightful and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I was working in the area and staying at the PremierInn the other side of the motorway.

In June 2019 my wife and I had a weekend ‘Wowcher’ break at the 'M1 Jct 28 Holiday Inn' and for the second night we needed to find somewhere for a meal. Of course there was the hotel restaurant and even a Brewers Fayre just a stones throw away, but we decided to check out local places for more of a special meal. Going on other Trip Advisor recommendations we decided to try Delhi Nights and are so glad we did! The food was truly excellent and the onion bhajji’s were the best we’ve ever tasted! Coming from Yorkshire this is quite a statement considering we live in a town widely assumed to have some of the best Indian takeaways and restaurants in the UK. Delhi Nights is a lovely clean modern restaurant with really friendly helpful staff. Their menu has lots of choice and is not too expensive. There is streetside parking directly outside but being just a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel then there is no real need to drive unless you have no choice (there is a handy footbridge over the M1 right next door to the hotel!). What we also liked was that the restaurant isn't overly big, so therefore it had a nice cosy atmosphere (with pleasant Indian background music being played). It wasn't too busy when we went but would assume it gets full quickly so suggest you book a table!

We have a regular journey and this restaurant is approximately half way. We’ve stopped 4 times now and the food is absolutely top notch. Everything is freshly cooked and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Small and cosy (no good for a large party) but for a quality Indian meal for 2 or 4 people, absolutely fabulous!

Today was our fourth visit here, the staff are amazing but the food is even greater. I'm a huge curry fan and this meets all expectations. Yes it's a few ££ more than the low budget Indians but you get what you pay for and you can see the attention to detail.

By far the best takeaway in our area! Food always comes on time, tastes great and love the added extras you can order eg desserts and wine! What more can you ask for!

Stopping overnight in the area after MTB in Sherwood. Google came up with Delhi Nights close to our hotel. Booked a table via the Google link for three of us after reading reviews and viewing pictures. This was a top choice. Nicely furnished and very clean. Staff extremely friendly. Menu was nice and food was really tasty. Kingfisher on draught was especially good! Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommended. Great find.

I found this restaurant through the trip advisor app. I am staying in Derby for work purposes and really fancied an Indian. From the moment I stepped in this restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. The staff where very welcoming and the interior of the restaurant very modern and clean. I picked a dish from the speciality menu and was literally blown away. The food was fresh and could not have been better.

This was worthy of a 5star rating, this place has been recommended to us by friends on several occasions, so we decided to give it a try and how happy we were that we did, the food was unbelievable the service was excellent and the place was spotless and well furnished, the restaurant small but cosy and warm and it felt very comfortable, we will definitely be back, this is now our favourite from a huge list of indians, we eat out weekly and travel as far as Derby, rotherham matlock and dronfield, this is definately a true Gem of a find, seriously nothing was too much trouble these are truly professionals

Our first visit to Delhi nights and definitely not our last! Beautiful surroundings, attentive staff, really beautiful menus and amazing food. So stylishly presented and oh so good to eat.

We have visited this restaurant a few times with family which has been great, lovely meals - we ordered a takeaway on Bank Holiday Monday, we received it early and was really looking forward to this but two out of the three main meals was more like chicken/lamb soup instead of curry--so disappointed, and the meat was tough!!!

We have been to many Indian restaurants and this has to be one of the best. The menu had many items which we had not seen before and both our choices were very well cooked and presented. Unable to fault the service. A little on the pricey side for regular use but still great value. We will be returning.

Nice restaurant, food very pricey, presentation of food excellent, but nothing special or out of ths ordenenary..food didn't come out all together 2 of us had to wait about 5 mins for the rice.

Header as it sounds. Overall the meal was very good and staff attentive however I’m not a fan of overly spicy food so tend to order set items and the dishes were a little too spicy for me from here and I wasn’t the only one in the party who thought this. Would happily visit again. The dross of Spice Village doesn’t compare but just request items to be made a little more mild

After a rubbish day, we decided to try Delhi Nights for a change and I can honestly say I will be ordering from them again as much as possible.

I popped in whilst travelling down from Northumberland to London on the M1 one night as had been delayed due to a motorway accident. The service was quick and the food was really good. Also well presented and a pleasant atmosphere.

Visited this restaurant having read the reviews but was unimpressed with both the food and service. We ordered wine which was just dumped on the table without a word and left for us to open and pour ourselves, then we were given a meal without cutlery. The food itself was okay at best but nothing special, at the prices they charge we were expecting an amazing dining experience and was left very dissappointed. We eat at Indians in the area every Saturday, mainly in Ripley or Huthwaite, and they are all much better than this one with much nicer dining areas, well presented food, better service and far cheaper. This is little more than a takeaway with tables.

Welcomed on arrival and looked after throughout our meal by friendly staff. Really tasty and well presented meals, the chicken tikka dry was amazing, and I loved the touch of salad layout pretty and tasty. Mushroom rice is now a firm favourite. Plentiful portion sizes. I was working in Chesterfield on the Saturday and along with my wife had arranged to meet up with my son (who lives in Tibshelf) on the Friday night, so we looked for a random indian restaurant to meet in, found Delhi Nights and booked a table.

Just moved to this area and thought this place would be good to try for new years eve.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant the food was excellent, so was the staff. Great friendly place. Even took us back to our hotel when we could not get a taxi.

rang for a reservation & was booked in . Greeted on arrival & seated by Jack our waiter Starters arrived efficiently followed by mains . Jack was very attentive along with his colleagues . Food & service 5 Star, looking forward to visiting soon.

Booked on the phone earlier that day and booked for 8 o’clock, was told it was tight but they could have a table available for us, arrived there and was told they didn’t have room now and blamed us saying we booked it later. And then said the customers before us was 30 mins late so we would have to wait. Very very poor service considering they had a contact number for us. Will not be going again.

Had takeaway since opening and always impressed until tonight. Salad was shredded lettuce and a small split tomato. Where was the grape strawberry pomegranate and cucumber that I always look forward to.? Main meal was fab as usual but tonight I went for a starter and salad and so disappointing. So glad I didn’t invite friends for a meal.

Great food in a nice quiet environment. Staff went out of their way (Jack in particular) to ensure everything was as good as it could be and even helped to get us home. Will return soon
