Royal Bengal Indian Restaurant in Kettering

Just had a takeaway from here. Lamb Dhansak. I asked for a hot one because I’ve had tepid ones before. I had mushroom rice and onion bhaji too. Mint sauce and 2 popadoms. Initially told 45-60 minutes. Anyway arrived in about 20 minutes. Absolutely delicious. Nice and hot and freshly cooked. Thanks very much.

Outstanding … as always, The staff, service and food cannot be bettered, anywhere in Kettering or the surrounding areas. I will never eat a curry anywhere else, doesn’t matter how often i go they treat me like i was there the week before and their only ever customer. Never disappoints. Always want to please. Thank you as always.

I went here with my family to celebrate my belated birthday as I was out of the country for two weeks I thought the service was first class from start to finish, food excellent a most enjoyable evening made us feel very welcome would recommend.

I love this place!! The food is fantastic and the meal deal is very good value. The staff are always welcoming and helpful and the service is good The surroundings are pleasant and place is always clean.

Visited with our friend who lives in Kettering - food was not nice at all and neither were we asked how it was think it was quite apparent. The chicken had clearly been cooked seperate and thrown into the sauce like back in the 90s not a patch on B’ham curries

I have been going to the Royal Bengal for 45 years and it has always been a restaurant with good food and often excellent food. Tonite, with a party of seven ladies, they really excelled themselves, impressing many of the party who had not visited before. Service was good even though it was busy especially for a Tuesday but the food was first class. Well done to the chef and kitchen staff and also all of the waiters. The refurbishment also contributed to the great ambience. Thank you for a great night.

Nice food and friendly service. Drinks are very expensive. Asked if there was an option to BYOB (recently for a birthday as January is a tight month) & it was a flat NO. Which meant I looked elsewhere for one that did & fortunately found one. I'm sure the royal bengal won't miss my custom but it would be a good idea to maybe have one night a week where people can bring their own booze....it makes it affordable for more people then.

Ordered to collect having looked at this place for the last five years with the thought it always looks busy so must be good. I’m slightly biased in that, I have my reservations on ordering takeaways from sit in restaurants and the same vice virca, not sure why but I just presume the food won’t be as good in takeaway form from a sit down place. Staff were super friendly on collection and food was ready when they said it would be. Atmosphere inside is very cosy and has a traditional Indian restaurant feel - clean, warm and accommodating. It’s quite evident that the occupiers of this business take great pride in the hospitality they provide. I was surprised just how good my meal was ( Sag Prawn with rice and naan. ) Ingredients were very fresh and bursting with flavour, I was able to taste all the ingredients very well. The food from this place is excellent and will be using again. Kettering needs more independent restaurant businesses like this one.

Dropped in after an extended shift on the off chance that I could book a table for 3 in about an hours time... Told that would not be an issue and when we arrived about an hour later we were shown to out table. I'd literally just come off a 27 hour shift an just wanted a while with a beer to re-set for the weekend. Staff were very understanding and this wasn't an issue. When we did order, the food came out well presented and plentiful. All in all a great experience and one I'd happily return for. Highly recommended to anyone in the area and looking forward to returning soon.

Weight loss plan not wanted but given 🤬🤬🤬 Went last Saturday with 9 other people and woke up in the middle of the night feeling really bad , spend the last 4 days off work and when I called to complain I was told we had eaten there and I must have to wrong restaurant ! So avoid this place with your life

Very friendly, cheerful service and very professional in every respect. Excellent food, some of the finest Indian food I have ever tasted (and I have eaten all around the world!). We were visiting from Cornwall and will certainly return the next time we are in Kettering. Well done the Royal Bengal.

Always a reliable choice and with a busy athmosphere. My only niggle is that I love Samosas. The ones they serve here must come from a bag of 100 for 50p from Iceland as they are small and bland. I suspect it is not a Samosa they would serve to their own family and friends. I know costs are tight but I suspect if we are there, we would be prepared to pay for an actual proper Samosaa.

We have been to this place many times and the food is always amazing quality, now we know they do a Meal Deal we always go for that deal as it saves you alot of money. Starter, Main, Side, Rice or Naan for £16.99. Service is good but the food is amazing!

Visitamos el sábado por la noche tras el esfuerzo de reservar varios días antes. No tenían constancia de nuestra reserva y la actitud del personal dejaba mucho que desear, finalmente conseguimos una mesa cayese muy pequeño en la esquina después de ser inicialmente dijeron que podíamos estar pero tendría que ser en menos de una hora. Muy rápida con las bebidas y extremadamente lento con la comida. No una agradable noche bastante estropeado por el desorganizado y la lentitud del servicio.Venga chicos esto no es aceptable conseguir su acto juntos

Nos quedamos fascinados con lo mucho que nos dieron con su comida menú oferta de £11. 95 y cualquier día de la semana! La comida era deliciosa y auténtica, opté por el pollo al curry, el naan chili y arroz era precioso.El único inconveniente era el servicio en la industria yo entiendo que pueden ser algunos restaurantes relajado pero le costó ser atento. El camarero parecía molestarle por preguntar su curry especial independiente, que era un poco extraño. Fue una pena porque la comida era increíble y el señor que parecía ser el gerente era el mejor servidor.Sin embargo, todavía nuevo, simplemente no habría expectativas del servicio.

Another good visit to this place. 10 of us visited and they were very efficient despite the whole place being really busy. The one and only thing that bugs me about this restaurant is the aloof approach of the boss. Otherwise, spot on.

A lo largo de los años he comido en muchos restaurantes diferentes. Algunas buenas y otras malas, pero nunca había experimentado el trato recibido esta noche. Cuando nuestro platos principales llegamos nos dijo el camarero que podía ponerlas en cualquier lugar de la mesa, pero cuando le preguntamos a decirnos que plato fue que él parecía estar molesto. Él hizo a través de los platos y luego nos dijeron lo que estábamos comiendo fuera era blanco placas!!! Cuando pedimos los platos podía él fuerte que no habíamos tocado le preguntó cuántas cajas nos gustaría lo trajeron a la mesa y tuve que hacerlo yo mientras él se quedó y vimos con actitud. Nunca me he sentido tan incómodo en un establecimiento de la manera que fue esta noche. Yo he trabajado en la industria de alimentos durante muchos años y espero que nunca lo he hecho sentir la manera cualquiera que me hizo sentir.

service I thought was slow, waiter lacked charisma and personality... quite dull... food was very good.. p.s. if you have food left over and want to take it away. like many do... they will plonk containers and bag in front of you to help yourself. so be prepared to scrape everything into boxes yourself.. never in 30 years of going to indian restaurants has this ever happened.. how bizarre...! ?

Went to this restaurant on Saturday 20th August you could choose a starter, a main course, rice dish, a side dish, ice cream or coffee from the menu all for the price of £11.95. We had great service. This restaurant I would highly recommend.

After a day at the races five of us fancied an Indian and was surprised to walk straight in on a Saturday night and get a table, we all had the special menu which included a starter, main , side and ice cream , all was cooked well, quick and tasty and served by happy staff that actually had a sense of hummer ,

Popped here on a whim after a beer or 2 at the three cocks. Good food, reasonably friendly and polite staff and the bill was ok at £25. Would go again.

Took my wife here for an evening meal, we had heard mixed reviews, the staff, decor and food were excellent, as usual I over ordered and then staff were quite happy to package the rest for me to take home, will definitely visit here again, the food was excellent and the staff very attentive.

Comimos allí la última noche, un grupo de 7. El servicio era excelente, la comida igual. Pero lo que para mí junto a el servicio y la calidad de la comida, la posibilidad de mantener una conversación con otras personas en la mesa. No hay urgencia y que, por parte de los empleados, a prisa a comer y salir, que lamentablemente es algo que hemos experimentado mucho recientemente.

Fuimos para una comida con mi hija. Pensamos que lo prueba los tres campos (cualquier opción) del menú por £10,95 - completa ganga a primera vista - aunque mucho se refleja en la calidad de la comida, que era, en el mejor de los casos, claramente de la media. El cordero Rogan era grasos, el tenía especias estaba un poco lejos y el paneer Mutter fue el peor que he tenido. Pero como dice la frase - se obtiene lo que se paga.

Reservamos una mesa, tomó 44 intentos de conseguir a través de teléfono. Cuando llegué a través muy rápido a llevar a mi reserva de 19:30 a 05/03/16. Llegamos a tiempo para que nos dijeran que no tenían mi reserva y que no podían hacer nada! Al final nos ofreció una terrible asiento al final de mesa justo en medio, donde todo el mundo camina pasado y a otras personas en la mesa. Había otras mesas vacías pero reservado (sí una de esas reservas era la mía). Estaban tan poco servicial simplemente se admirando las reservas en el diario y diciendo que no podemos hacer nada. Salimos al final absolutamente indignado. No hace falta decir que no volveremos. Fuimos a comer en el restaurante indio exótico y fue absolutamente hermoso servicio y comida.

Siempre que estamos en Inglaterra en el que asegurarse de que visita la Bengala. Es treinta años extraños ya que fuimos por primera vez y el lugar sigue siendo mejor - lejos el mejor restaurante indio en y alrededor Kettering.

It was ok but nothing special. The madras sauce was nice but the chicken quite rubbery. Service was ok too...had better but also had worse. Will try other local Indian restaurants but will give this another chance at some point in the future.

Duck Tikka (if thats what it was) was so dry Creda would have been proud. Taste not to good either. Prawn on puree was really bland. Luckily we hadn't ordered the mains. Picked up a takeaway on our way home. Very disappointing.

Good service. I usually order the chicken tikka sag and it arrives cooked completely different each time. A few things missing from order but soon rectified. Just a nice average place.

This is a regular place of our's to eat. The Staff have a great attitude, the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Well worth visiting.

Mi pareja y yo visitamos el Royal Bengal como a muchos de nuestros amigos y familia había recomendado por su buena comida increíble a muy buenos precios (que ya no viven localmente). Se dieron parte de la comida justo, fue excelente. Sin embargo, desgraciadamente, no es barato! Pagamos 50 libras por poppadoms, 2 x principales con arroz y un naan y 3 bebidas entre nosotros dos. En retrospectiva, deberíamos haber preguntado por la £10,95 oferta cuando llegamos, ya que resulta que si hubiéramos en realidad pedimos más comida que habría sido calificado para ello. No encontrar el servicio genial, fuimos uno de 3 mesas de comedor y hicimos un montón de sentarse alrededor tratando de conseguir la atención del camarero.

Cuando me dijeron que 40 minutos, me hubiera gustado que nos había dicho que la verdad en el primer lugar, y lo que lo hace peor es que la comida era muy buena y si no hubiera sido tibio! Llegamos última noche pensando que era una comida con mi hija, resulta que mi hijo y a mi familia también a mi padre y a mi pareja estaban allí, mesa todo hecho con globos, confeti, etc. ( esto fue a mi hija) pero no fue un problema.

Este es un encantador restaurante indio con un agradable ambiente, la comida es estupenda relación calidad-precio especialmente si aprovecha el ocasional ofertas disponibles se colocan en la puerta por ejemplo " £10,95 - entrante, plato principal, Nan pan o arroz y té/café o un helado.

Hemos ido a este restaurante por 30 años y todavía ir sobre una base regular.

No habíamos estado un poco, ya que los deseos para un curry indio después de una semana agotador concurrida en el trabajo, decidimos venir a último momento. Como siempre, nos dieron la bienvenida y bien cuidado, (aunque habíamos reservado tarde en el día), particularmente por Jabeed, Abdul y Mohammed, el servicio, como siempre, fue genial. La comida siempre era fresco, y bien condimentadas y el ambiente era como siempre, relajado y agradable. Así que me alegro de que fui, no puedo esperar para mi próxima visita! La mejor comida india en Northamptonshire recomiendo.

Por desgracia, hemos iniciado una petición bastante difícil, "mesa para dos por favor". Parecía ser una dificultad para el bastante mudo camarero.

El personal es muy agradable y la comida es fantástica oferta tan buena relación calidad-precio con toda la comida que te dan. Los gustos increíble y nunca tuvimos una mala comida desde aquí. La decoración es quizás un poco anticuado, pero cumple su función. El único inconveniente es que la coca-cola siempre es plana y nunca agua mineral en lo más mínimo pero sin importar que nunca me pone.

This is a much better restaurant than it used to be. 4 courses for £10.95 suggests low quality. That is absolutely not the case. I always enjoy eating here and the staff are just so nice.

Fuimos a este restaurante para una toma. Estaban bastante llenos con coma-ins y tuvimos que esperar 20 minutos para nuestra orden relativamente sencilla. El Baltimore BWI Airport plato que teníamos no tienen un montón de piezas de pechuga de pollo, pero también un poco demasiado cebolla. Querían cobrar 10% extra cuando le pregunté a pagar con tarjeta de crédito - no me impresionó, acabamos dando dinero!!

Sirve consistentemente muy buena y variada comida por siempre servicial y erudito personal. El restaurante está siempre limpio y los precios son razonables. Si lo que buscas es un fácil y agradable comida es un buen lugar para ir.

Se tardó una hora para nuestros entrantes para llegar. 45 minutos después pedimos pregunté cuánto estarían y me dijeron que "estamos ocupados, otras personas dieron aquí primero, tendrá que esperar". Aunque valoro todas estas cosas, no había ninguna disculpa por el retraso, y me quedé muy sorprendida por la mala educación del personal. No nos ofrecieron nada gratuito, una disculpa por la espera pero en vez nos dijeron que teníamos que haber comprado algunas poppadoms. Después de que nos amenazó con dejar nuestros aperitivos estaban muy rápidamente llevado a nosotros y el miembro del personal parecía a mí y me dijo " ¿estás contento ahora? ". No me puedo creer que esto pueda ser considerado aceptable servicio al cliente! La comida era normal ... un buen curry pero nada excepcional y no la pena la hora de espera. Yo no volveremos y no se lo recomendaría a cualquiera.

Ordered takeaway delivery for four hungry family members. Food was excellent. The Bengal Special Biryani was awesome and the vegetable side dish was asked to be Madras hot and that too was perfect. The free bottle of red wine was also most welcome :)

We go for the meal deal but lately the food has been average at best and the service a bit complacent. Disappointing really and there are plenty of other local curry houses to choose from. I think I'll move on......
