Hospitality and food were excellent.

I ate here yesterday. And it was absolutely amazing the staff were lovely, the food was amazing they were very welcoming as I have anxiety when I'm out, we originally asked for a take out menu but we decided to sit in, they were very helpful to both me and my friend, the atmosphere and music was great and the toilets was very clean and good, I will definitely be returning I left them with a small tip I'm cash and I said I'm sorry it's not alot and they were grateful with me just giving them the top, great service great food

Nice food, great service. The waiter noticed that one of our group was celebrating a birthday and brought all a complimentary drink of our choice. Nice touch.

Consistently good food for the last 20+ years that we've been coming here. Came on Friday night for a birthday meal. Service and food excellent as always. We all had the meal deal which is good value for the amount of food you get. As with the majority of eating establishments now, the drinks are pricey. Other restaurants are up and down with food and service but the Bengal has always been the same and we will continue to come here for many more years I'm sure. In fact I'm there 3 times in 3 weeks!

I have been going to the Royal Bengal for 45 years and it has always been a restaurant with good food and often excellent food. Tonite, with a party of seven ladies, they really excelled themselves, impressing many of the party who had not visited before. Service was good even though it was busy especially for a Tuesday but the food was first class. Well done to the chef and kitchen staff and also all of the waiters. The refurbishment also contributed to the great ambience. Thank you for a great night.

Tonight we were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant was heaving, but despite that the service was phenomenal. I have also noticed there was an older couple, one of them weren't feeling well and one of the waiter escorted them home. It was was site to see ,the waiter in the middle and the couple hanging on to each side of his arm. How is that for service? God bless you Royal Bengal 🙏 We will always be a loyal customer.

Asked if set menu included anything on the menu , starter, main, side dish, we were told yes and what pages we could choose from , ordered a starter, main and side, then decided to order poppadom's separately with pickles , and really meant separately as bad experience last time we went out, only to be told Poppadom's are usually a starter as we waited for ordered starter to arrive, thus we hadn't eaten any as yet. starter arrived , 2 mixed things , one curly thing ? asked where the prawns were and the waiter said the curly thing was the prawn and they fry it , we explained we ordered set menu and the starter was meant to be a mix of things including king prawns but it wasn't, When we got the bill we were charged for a starter and we explained it was part of the set meal, and was told the sea food starter wasn't included ? but we didn't order any sea food, we ordered a mixed starter, which stated chicken , lamb, king prawn , we got the starter with one curly rubbery prawn in it ? i hope it was a prawn ? basically we were charged £ 6.. , the starter was 7.95. but again it was part of the menu which we already clarified as set meal . We also were charged for the separate Poppadom's we ordered . How is this a meal deal when charged the extra £ 6.00.. we wont be going again as this is the second time this has happened, so when your asked do you want Poppadom's, please say no , not yet , as you end up getting them and being charged for any starter you then order , believing your getting a deal ! rip off

Nice food and friendly service. Drinks are very expensive. Asked if there was an option to BYOB (recently for a birthday as January is a tight month) & it was a flat NO. Which meant I looked elsewhere for one that did & fortunately found one. I'm sure the royal bengal won't miss my custom but it would be a good idea to maybe have one night a week where people can bring their own booze....it makes it affordable for more people then.

Love the Royal Bengal, I’ve always lived in Kettering and had several birthday meals from a child to now. I recommend royal Bengal to everyone who wants a good curry dine in or takeaway. Great restaurant! Tandoori Salmon is the best starter I’ve ever had. 🤝

Went this evening for a Boxing Day meal for 4 adults and 3 kids. Service was amazing, all of the staff are so courteous and welcoming. Made a special small portion for my little girl on request - food was to die for. Freshly cooked and very flavoursome. I honestly couldn’t fault the place. Good variety of background music, toilets clean & all on one floor. Will definitely be returning, thank you for making our Boxing Day so lovely!

I’d give the food here 6 stars! Better than any Indian restaurant. The food is cooked to perfection. The menu offers more diverse dishes than the standard Indian. Fantastic service. This restaurant has kept its high standard since I last went there 17 years ago, it’s even better than before. Highly recommend!

I’m slightly biased in that, I have my reservations on ordering takeaways from sit in restaurants and the same vice virca, not sure why but I just presume the food won’t be as good in takeaway form from a sit down place. Staff were super friendly on collection and food was ready when they said it would be. Atmosphere inside is very cosy and has a traditional Indian restaurant feel - clean, warm and accommodating. It’s quite evident that the occupiers of this business take great pride in the hospitality they provide. I was surprised just how good my meal was ( Sag Prawn with rice and naan. ) Ingredients were very fresh and bursting with flavour, I was able to taste all the ingredients very well. The food from this place is excellent and will be using again. Kettering needs more independent restaurant businesses like this one.

Dropped in after an extended shift on the off chance that I could book a table for 3 in about an hours time... Told that would not be an issue and when we arrived about an hour later we were shown to out table. I'd literally just come off a 27 hour shift an just wanted a while with a beer to re-set for the weekend. Staff were very understanding and this wasn't an issue. When we did order, the food came out well presented and plentiful. All in all a great experience and one I'd happily return for. Highly recommended to anyone in the area and looking forward to returning soon.

Ordered to take away. Food was great, good value and the place was packed full of people. Also used their delivery service the following day and it was very efficient.

Had a takeaways this week. We eat in the restaurant from time to time as we love the food, atmosphere and warm welcome. However, we had friends up from London and we all were in agreement, the food was exceptional. Just as hot and tasty as we get in the restaurant and generous portions. Will be ordering again very soon, and our friends from London made us promise we'd do it again when they next visit. Brilliant....

This review is for a order that was delivered by the restaurant . I had 2 wonderful chicken dishes and lovely soft butter naans delivered by this restaurant. The staff member with whom I placed the order on the phone was very polite and informative . The meal was also great value. Fantastic overall . I have also had the benefit of eating at this restaurant in sept 2023. Great decor, lovely comfortable seating , friendly staff with great attention placed on the customers needs . I had the 16.95 set meal which is fantastic value for money . The also had kingfisher beer on tap which was delicious. From the poppadoms to the Naga chicken jalfrezi and aloo paratha everything was perfect ... Thanks once again to the team at this great restaurant

Weight loss plan not wanted but given 🤬🤬🤬 Went last Saturday with 9 other people and woke up in the middle of the night feeling really bad , spend the last 4 days off work and when I called to complain I was told we had eaten there and I must have to wrong restaurant ! So avoid this place with your life

Great takeaway option in Kettering. Food is consistently great (especially the Tandoori King Prawn Masala), the food arrives quickly and their delivery drivers are friendly. Highly recommended

Very friendly, cheerful service and very professional in every respect. Excellent food, some of the finest Indian food I have ever tasted (and I have eaten all around the world!). We were visiting from Cornwall and will certainly return the next time we are in Kettering. Well done the Royal Bengal.

Quality curry from a quality curry house. Absolutely rammed full of customers on a Thrusday evening; which should tell you all you need to know about how good this place is.

Always a reliable choice and with a busy athmosphere. My only niggle is that I love Samosas. The ones they serve here must come from a bag of 100 for 50p from Iceland as they are small and bland. I suspect it is not a Samosa they would serve to their own family and friends. I know costs are tight but I suspect if we are there, we would be prepared to pay for an actual proper Samosaa.

We have been to this place many times and the food is always amazing quality, now we know they do a Meal Deal we always go for that deal as it saves you alot of money. Starter, Main, Side, Rice or Naan for £16.99. Service is good but the food is amazing!

Busy restaurant. What I had was pretty bland. Chana Masala / Tandoori Mix both didn’t do it for me. No flavour in either dish which was a shame as the restaurant seemed pretty popular. I was on a business trip, went here from the reviews.

Amazing food. Very good quality. Really enjoyed it. Not been for years but as good as I remember. Will be back sooner next time. Would definitely recommend.

Took my Son and a friend .They had 4 cobras I had sparkly water for Drinks .My Son had a Fal with keema Rice .My friend had garlic Chicken Curry with Keema Rice .I had chicken saag and pilau rice .We had 4 poppadums at the beginning of the meal .I ordered x3 side onion bhajee and a keema Naan ( which turned out to be a plane Naan but didnt say anything) and a peshwari Naan .The food was ok although the peshwari Naan was a little too well done around the edges.I asked for the bill . Just a little quiz for anyone reading this who may be a regular or might be a connoisseur on what Ive told you we had should cost ? I will update you on the total bill after I hope to get some feedback .If its helpful we went on a Sunday early evening.Table for 3 Many Thanks .

We went Saturday night and apart from a shaky start and a look that said “someone hasn’t booked you in” we were seated, watered and fed, absolutely fantastic food the Thali was incredible 100% recommend this dish with an upgraded Nan 👍🏻

Disappointing, been coming here for years without any problems we booked a table and told the table was wanted for 8 O'clock no problem, we hadn't finished when told that the table was wanted at 7 O'clock as people were waiting, letting to many people in that hadn't booked standing around waiting for tables

We we’re on holiday & booked a table, the earliest they could fit us in was 9pm, on arrival we could hear the noise outside, there were drunken men inside. IT WAS LATE & WE WERE HUNGRY otherwise we would have left & ate elsewhere...

We we’re on holiday & booked a table, we could hear the noise outside on arrival, there were drunken men shouting inside & we were given a table next to them. The Staff then moved us to another table which didn’t make any difference in a small room. We ate our meals and left straight after so didn’t enjoy our evening as we couldn’t hear each other speak. I later questioned the bill as I was charged for an incorrect meal and also chutney which I didn’t ask for or eat. The amount wasn’t much but I wasn’t prepared to pay any more for our meals. Phil messaged me agreeing to pay me the overcharge and I gave him my bank details. Only when I didn’t receive the payment I called the restaurant & Jay the Manager said Phil is in hospital with covid and might be dying so you will have to wait for the payment, that’s if he survives. Jay then phoned me Back saying he wouldn’t pay me because I owed him money! Eventually Phil paid me what was owed, & thankfully he was okay. What a horrible comment to say about your colleague!

My husband and i went for a meal this evening at the royal bengal kettering..we were shown to a cosy table for two,had,drinks,poppadoms,chutneys and mains with sides..all served promptly,fresh, hot and delicious..lovely atmosphere,lovely friendly polite staff,lovely evening.

My husband and I really enjoyed the nice lively vibe, great upbeat music friendly staff and 5 star service. The food was outstanding and great value for money!! Thank you for making feel like VIPs on a big table for 2.

Distinctly average, used to be better, went on a quiet tues eve, food was OK, very under spiced, chose a '2 chilli' dish, was advised it was hotter than a very similar 2 chilli dish, was not hot in the slightest. Had the same problem last visit, sent back previously and was re spiced, couldnt be bothered to send back this time, dont think I would return.

What an outstanding curry! As a lad who grew up near Bradford, surrounded by arguably some of the best curries around, so very picky indeed when it comes to Indian food, this was my first curry after moving down to Kettering a few months back. I genuinely couldn’t be happier, and it’s just round the corner from my house! Staff were excellent, very accommodating and again, the food was amazing. Can taste the fresh ingredients and these chaps know what they’re doing and we had a cracking meal after a day at the races! And my personal favourite, was the Kulfi - really tasting a good palette cleanser. Good work boys, I’ll certainly be back and be joining you regularly! Thanks for a really good end to my day!
