Kushboo in Kettering

Was looking forward to visiting this restaurant due to its reputation but was left very disappointed. After being seated we were told that we would have to move to another table as we had been shown to the wrong one. We had a long wait before we were served our drinks and another long wait for our food. The food when we finally received it was very nice, but before we had even been asked if we would like a desert we were told that we had to move upstairs as they needed our table for other people. We declined and asked for our bill instead. The waiter obviously knew we had been messed about as he was apologising before we had even voiced any issues and offered to take a percentage off our bill which was appreciated, however, it would have been much better to have just had a nice meal out with good service.

Had the most amazing Indian takeaway on Saturday night from Kushboo. It is hands down the best tasting Indian food in the area. Sauces were delicious, quality of ingredients clearly great. Usually disappointed with takeaways so stay away from them and cook our own as quality is usually poor. This food is great and will definitely be ordering again…soon! Thanks for restoring our faith in takeaway food.

Make sure you book the table earlier than you would like to eat. It's a fantastic experience, but you won't be eating straight away. They like to take you upstairs before your meal for drinks and then set the table so when you do get to your table food is brought out promptly. But a 7pm booking likely won't be eating until 7:45 at least. It's worth the wait though, just make sure you are prepared for that, especially if you are really hungry before you turn up ☺️

Asked for a mild chicken tikka masala and Bombay potato,was unable to eat as it was too hot. Waiter didn’t understand a simple drinks order and the drinks bill wasn’t able to be broken down even tho it was for 4 people and over £120 and only one person drinking alcohol.tried to speak to the manager and he wasn’t Interested.

On visiting this restaurant for the first time booked in for 7:45 to celebrate a retirement. The food arrived at 9:10, an hour and a half wait, shocking service, plus the Vegan korma had a splash of cream on the top :( very unhappy first time customers.

Lovely staff very welcoming and friendly during the evening. Would recommend.

I had dinner with friends in Kushboo on Saturday evening, and the food was absolutely amazing. The ingredients and flavours were of the best quality and I’m struggling to work out why I haven’t been in for so long! The atmosphere is perfect in there, with a cocktail bar upstairs, & the lighting is very ambient. We did spend a lot per person but we literally had a banquet! With cocktails, 2 bottles of wine & 1 bottle of Prosecco, starters, a main each & a few sides for the table. So it’s actually really reasonable for the amount we ordered, with the best quality.

We have been to Kushboo multiple times over the past couple of years and it is faultless every single time, for both eating in and take away. Staff, service and food are 10/10. Thank you :)

Nice setting to have a meal but left disappointed, seems like they have a method to scam people into buying more. First they take you upstairs for a "predrink" before being seated, they keep you there to finish your drink so you have to buy more drinks, once seated and ordered, food took over an hour to arrive, which makes me think they do it so you finish your drink again before meal arrives. Place is expensive at it is, the time it took for us to eat by the time we arrived was far too long. we was sat left waiting for food and hungry.

It was an absolute amazing meal and desert the staff are so kind and caring and very polite will definitely be coming back☺️

As our favourite Indian takeaway had recently closed down I thought I would give kushboo ago for take away. making an order online was very easy and paid by card which is always a bonus. I was disappointed that when my egg fried rice arrived there was more onion spinach and carrot in there than egg and also no mention on the online menu that the rice contained this. (I was expecting egg and rice, the same I have ordered from other Indian takeaways) I found my curry very bland and sauce way very bitty and not a smooth curry sauce. When trying to ring the Resturant to let them know about the rice not being more than just rice and egg I couldn’t get through. I don’t think I will be ordering an again.

Unfortunately disappointed again, we ordered and collected from here a year or two ago and felt let down, and ordered again tonight and was let down again. I ordered the paneer tikka salad starter which was just cubes of pan fried paneer with no flavouring (so fried paneer salad, not TIKKA paneer). The Tarka Dahl had a bitter flavour and wasn't great either, it was definitely lacking in flavour. The naan was also disappointingly small. The onion bahjes and pilau rice were delicious, as was the vegan sabji tarkari, I'd recommend those.

There is a slight language barrier. However, the food is absolutely amazing and the service second to none.

We had a truly delightful experience, with the most exquisite food. The attentive service was truly top-notch. Well done to the entire Kushboo team.

This Saturday night we had a family meal at Kushboo, the food was fantastic and the service was great, the kids loved it. It was a great meal however I am a wheelchair user and currently need to be pushed ( due to a busted left arm ). There is limited or no parking, we had to park on the street and the pavement is dire, fortunately there is a drop curb on Kushboo side. There is a horrendous step up to the floor level of the restaurant, an unaccompanied wheelchair user wouldn't be able to get up there, I wouldn't except I had my big strong brother to lift me over it. Despite what might be written elsewhere there are NO DISABLED TOILETS as of the time of writing this there is a room under refurbishment on the restaurant level but there is no toilet in it. The toilet is upstairs and I am told the stairs are narrow and windy and the actual toilet sevearly lacking in room. Despite being able to mobilise a few yards I was unable to use the facility.

Selected Kushboo for dinner having tried the other highly rated Indian restaurants in the area and found them to be 'okay' well Kushboo was definitely more than Okay, the atmosphere is nice, it's a modern restaurant plenty of light and space. The staff were friendly and reasonably attentive. The food ... That was next level, really impressed with every dish I had. Will definitely be returning. I'd drop half a star due to the lack of actual Indian desserts on the dessert menu, some Kulfi or Some other beautiful Indian sweet treats would have really finished the meal off. Instead it was the standard cash and carry ready made icecream desserts that so many Indian and Chinese restaurants use. Update July 2024, still ok for the area, but better curry in Birmingham or leicester

We love Kushboo! The food is always good, the service second to none and it’s always an experience! It’s the kind of place that’s always busy and always has room and that make it great for any occaision

Had a lovely dinner here this evening! All the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The bar area was great allowing us to have a drink before dinner without feeling like we were being rushed. Would definitely recommend!

Exceptional 5* for everything! Cannot fault anything at Kushboo. The food was amazing. We had the Sunday special and it was perfect. For £30, the quality and portions of food was more than plentiful for 2 people. The dips with the poppadoms were excellent, we kept them for the main also. Extensive food and beverage including cocktails menu.. something for everyone. Service was the best I've experienced in a very long time, very good timings between courses, never felt rushesd. Will definitely be back again to try more of the menu. 5🌟

Had a meal with mates today, excellent service, and not one member of staff was miserable/moody. Even had a laugh when getting served etc. Food wasn't swimming in oil as some restaurants do. (I'm indian and hate excessive oil in my food) Food tasted good, the service was good and will definitely visit again. Thank you

I've only ever been to the wine bar for cocktails previously because they didn't have vegan options. But I recently discovered that they have 4 main options, so we thought we'd go. I had the Vegan Garam Sabji, and my partner had the vegan vegetable korma. They also made us up some starters (not from the menu), which were delicious. We started in the wine bar and had a beer and cocktail, and waited there until our table was ready. The staff were really friendly, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Our gym crew are heading there next month for a social, and I'm already looking forward to it.

High prices and the food is not great. Portions are small and expensive for the quality of the food. The meat is very poorly seasoned with spices. This wasn't what I expected after so many positive reviews. I don't know what people are praising so...
