The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

First time ordering from here and we will definitely come back ! Food was absolutely delicious best Indian I’ve ever had ! It was so tasty big portions cooked to perfection and flavours were amazing ! I ordered a collection, on my arrival the man in the restaurant was so lovely and welcoming , he had a big smile on his face and was dressed very smart , the restaurant was very warm and welcoming whole atmosphere was just really nice , you could definitely see that owners take great pride in what they do , being it was my first time ordering I wasn’t aware you could also sit in which the man recommended to try next time and i would definitely do that ! We spent little under £30 and there was enough food there to feed 2 adults and 3 kids 🥰 10/10 experience , already can’t wait to visit again ! 🤍

From the moment we walked into the resturant, we were greeted so warmly and shown to our table. Fantastic service throughout. We are food lovers, especially Indian cuisine, and have to say this evenings food was second to none. Absolutely hit every dish and flavour perfectly. We were waited on so wonderfully, I visit many Resturant’s with my family, and always note the customer care. Spice Guru tonight, made my whole family feel like royalty. And i noted, throughout the evening, we weren’t the only ones. Every group, or couple that came in, were made to feel the same :) I noted the phones ringing obversely a popular take a way establishment too - which was encouraging, but didn’t take away or distract the attention we had as in diners at all. All in all, we were so very impressed with the food, service and attention to detail, we have already booked our next visit :) Thanks very much to all the staff for making my family’s Valentine’s Meal so wonderful.

Lovely food and staff, but unfortunately it was so cold in this restaurant, the radiators were not even on which was an extremely freezing cold evening, they had electric fans on the table next to us but this wasn’t sufficient unfortunately. although I enjoyed my meal it was spoilt by how cold it was, albeit I had a a Madras but that didn’t have any warming effect 😦

Although the good was tasty and service was 1st class, I was concerned about the lack of a food standards eating not being displayed. So I decided to check the rating, they were given a score of 1 out of 5, this is quite worrying, having ran several hotels myself, where 5 stars is normal, it can only mean the kitchen is very dirty and good is not kept safe. I was also kicked out on Christmas eve.

Been to this place before and it was great about two years ago. Now it seems to have gone downhill. Food wasn’t nice, there seemed like there was just no flavour, everything, and i mean everything tasted so heavy with tomato. I’ve worked in restaurants before and tasted alot of Indians. I had high hopes going here again but it really let me down. The lamb biriyani was absolutely shocking. Tasteless. It tasted like pilau rice with some lamb pieces, thats it. The lamb was dry, it stuck to the roof of my mouth. It looks dry, like it had been left to air out for a couple days (see photos) they did remove the price of the lamb biriyani and the manager was friendly but after this experience its a shame that i wont be returning.

Cold restaurant they need to turn the heating up food was ok

As a regular to spice lounge can say it's as good as any around. Bright, good food, staff, comfortable booths. Party room upstairs if needed.

I particularly appreciated how the menu was thoughtfully curated, though I personally enjoy dishes with bones, which weren’t available. That said, the quality and taste more than made up for it! The ambiance was inviting, and the overall experience was fantastic. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, India Lounge is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Still as good as ever We returned to the balti cottage after a few months' break Unsurprisingly, it is as good as ever We had shish kebab starters And lamb sagwalla mains (lamb was so tender) With peas pilau rice and Peshawari naan Our friends had chicken Tikka mains with salad and mushroom pilau rice Everything we had was top quality Raj always looks after us Keep up the good work

Incredible curry & service. So tasty, clean and very efficient service, we hadn’t booked and there was a nice number of people in the restaurant. Staff are so pleasant highly recommend.

Had a gluten free base pizza which was deliciously made and staff really friendly and overall great food. Highly recommend 😁

Love this place, food, service is all on point. A hidden gem for celiac's or gluten intolerance. Added bonus it's bring your own alcohol with a off license next door.

I recently visited Mughal Balti House, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food was disappointing—lacking flavor, with excessively small portions, and every dish seemed overloaded with vegetables rather than a balanced mix of ingredients. It felt like they were cutting corners at every step. The customer service was non-existent. The staff, especially one particularly rude individual, had absolutely no knowledge of how to handle customers. Their attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and made the entire experience frustrating. It’s clear that a change in staff, or at least proper training, is desperately needed to bring any semblance of hospitality to this establishment. I would not recommend Mughal Balti House to anyone looking for quality food or even basic courtesy. A disappointing visit, and I will not be returning.

Very nice food, unfortunately front of house man with short white beard shouting at his co worker completely ruined the good atmosphere. He showed an arrogant attitude with customers while dining there. I would say, just get a takeaway.
