Just had my order but unfortunately very disappointed I ordered a set meal for two and a bag of chips we didn't get any rice or poppadoms and the food was bland

Have used this place for over 30yrs. Just held a 40th party for my daughter, 15 people. Service was excellent, food was delicious ! Thank you so, so much for a brilliant night

Had a rare night out with partner, new to the area. Took a chance on the quaint little restaurant and glad we did. It was a Sunday evening, we were the only people in there, which kind of made it more romantic, I mean people pay for a restaurant to themselves!! Our waiter was lovely, recommending dishes to us, he was extremely friendly and polite. There was a constant stream of take out orders being taken and people were being greeted by name as they came to collect. When we finished we were not rushed but stayed for a chat with our new friend. The food was delicious and we can not wait for another meal from there.

First time take away, very friendly service and food was really good. The Onion Bhaji's were absolutely amazing 👏 Would definitely purchase from here again. THANKS 👍

This is our go to Indian takeaway in Gainsborough. We get lamb tikka masala which is always so tender and delicious. Food always tastes fresh, which is an issue when ordering from others in the area.

Terrible for was gressy and under cooked couldn't eat any of it !! Avoid all cost !! Phoned up twice was rude and not understanding also put the phone down on me both times.

Down here on holiday and ordered a take away to be delivered and we weren’t disappointed. Easy online order from a large choice menu and a good price. Food was delivered 15 minutes early which was nice. Nice driver. Food packed well . Food looked great and tasted lovely could of done with a little more spice (did say medium) over all a very good take away, would definitely eat from here again and definitely recommend

Working away and looking for a curry, was not disappointed at all best one for a longtime, definitely going back. And recommend too work mates too.

Used to be a really good Indian restaurant but now not. Ambience was lacking, service was abrupt bordering on rude. This borne out by so few eat in customers even though it was Saturday night. Food was bland, something that must be difficult to achieve when cooking Indian dishes! We won't be returning.

Drop in for a meal with my wife when we were staying the night near Gainsborough. The service was friendly and polite and the food was excellent and superbly cooked. Overall it was a great meal and very economical compared to most Indian restaurants I usually visit. Highly recommended.

Very good, I would have scored 5 but one dish last week was spot on and this week was like a different dish altogether 🤷‍♂️ , still nice and wouldn't put me off, just not what I really fancied at the time.

We ordered a takeaway that was delivered promptly and that is the only reason I have awarded two stars. We ordered two different mains but they both tasted exactly the same, completely bland. I have never had such a tasteless meal. The mixed kebab starter tasted of nothing, the garlic naan had no garlic. l am amazed at how someone can make a curry sauce taste of flour and water with the texture of snot. Absolutely shocking that they charge money for this excuse for food.

Really Disappointing. Ordered 2 Mains and a Garlic Naan to share with my Son. His Chicken Korma was fine, tender chicken chunks and enjoyable sauce. Garlic Naan was faultless, buttery garlic and soft,fluffy texture. Sadly, the Lamb Balti let the whole meal down. I got the impression it had been cobbled together and thrown out just to deal with a large number of orders, 7pm Friday evening. 2 different cuts of Lamb, neither, slow cooked for long enough, to give the meat the melt in the mouth tenderness it needed. The sauce barely resembled a Balti dish, far too Salty, far too many tomatoes. It barely resembled a curry dish, instead , tasted like a bland and salty second rate, tasteless stew. The meat was inedible and the accompanying sauce was as bad. Friends of mine, swear by this place and have used it for years. After my latest meal I won't be using the Moonlight again any time soon.

By far the best Indian food for miles around. Consistently great tasty dishes. Really can't fault the quality or service and much better value than many other restaurants/take always. Highly recommend the tikka masala and Katha meeta dishes.

By far the best food in Lincoln really tasty I been there a few times food is amazing. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, highly recommend this place - this is now my go to. 👌👌👌👌👌

I would just like to thank the staff at the Moonlight once again for getting me through another week of lockdown!!🏆ordered a take away this evening and was able to collect it within an hour. On arrival the restaurant was immaculately clean and chairs were set up for waiting customers ensuring strict adherence to social distancing. The staff were as polite as ever and the food was delivered well packaged. Once home the food was hot and tasty with more than enough for the 2of us. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough-fsbulous food great service and so reasonable too. They know we will be back 🌈🏆

I have been ordering from Moonlight since 2004, but recently I have become obsessed with their amazingly tasty Chicken Tikka Masala, Poppadoms,Naan Bread and OMG! Moonlights Shahi Pilau Rice, I have never tasted Rice as delicious as theirs, I even order extras to eat the next day, Please don't judge me I have just had a Kidney Transplant in December 2019 and since having Haemodialysis in September 2019 all I have craved and eaten is Moonlights Indian Cuisine... Their food is premium quality which has helped me recover tremendously. Also I would like to thank all Moonlights staff for delivering all the takeaways, hot & fresh too me for the past 9 months. All staff are absoulty amazing,they can't do enough to help you, top customer service. ☆☆☆☆☆

I visit here a few times a year, not the cheapest in town but the quality is excellent and the staff are always quick and attentive. Not advisable to go in a roaring hot summer though!!!

Ordered a takeaway which was not quite ready when I arrived so i asked for a beer to drink whilst waiting and caught them topping up my glass with the slops from waist beer products.

Only used to have Indian a few times a year (spoilt living in London) But Moonlight rivals the Empress in East london. Taste amazing, value for money excellent and more than that the welcome even when collecting a take-away makes you feel valued. I was walked to the door and it was opened for me with a wish of a good evening. Best customer service, staff but more than that really tastey food. Dropped the other take outs had Indian 4 times in a month. Thank you XX

Ate here last night for the first time in 2 years , table of 4 , ive always had a few bug bares with this restaurant over the years and unfortunately they still remain but lets talk about why we go , the food ! All four of us really enjoyed our chosen dishes and nothing was wasted , my keeta was very very tasty and i would recommend it if you like a tangy and rich flavoured curry thats not hot , sundries were well cooked and everything was hot , Staff are workman like rather than attentive but like a bit of banter 😁 So lots to recommend this restaurant, if only it felt a little more intimate and warm place to eat in

We decided to try this takeaway rather than our usual Bengal Dynasty as theirs had gone quite watery, and Im sorry to that the garlic rice was quite bland and so was the chicken, it wasn't just on my dish but hubbies was just bland. Although the service was good the food let them down badly.

I was looking for somewhere to eat with friends before going to an event at The Trinity Arts Centre. Found this place advertised and it had some positive reviews so I booked. On arrival it looked a bit underwhelming and empty, but the welcome we received was excellent and there was a constant stream of people collecting "take-aways" as we waited for friends to arrive.

We moved to Gainsborough just over 3 years ago. Being a big fan of Indian cuisine we immediately set about finding the best in the area. But we are both very VERY fussy when it comes to Indian food, no surprise since we both spent many years in Birmingham, home of the English style of Indian cooking and birthplace of the Balti, so we will not accept anything but the best.

Having not been here for a few months ( had two bad curry’s here ) I decided to give them the 3 chance lucky.

Visited here tonight and enjoyed an amazingly tasty meal food is consistently good,the staff are always attentive and will willingly suggest meals to suit your tastes. This was the day after valentinesabd I was treated to a lovely plate of lovely treats to finish a brilliant evening 10/10 to Mo and all the staff

Went here for my boys 18th bday. The food was great and the put it all on a meal deal they had going on. Made it a really cheap meal for all.

My husband loves curry and wanted to try somewhere different so we thought we'd have a trip to Gainsborough and try Moonlight.

Tip top, tasty food, excellent service, all the staff were helpful, and cheerful. They even gave my partner a cad and a box of chocolates when they heard it was her birthday.

First time visit last night and we’ll definitely be back. The restaurant was spotless, staff attentive and friendly and the food superb. I asked for chicken passanda, which was not on the menu, but this was not a problem and it was delicious. Special thanks to Jamal who let us try the “staff curry” to show us how hot but tasty it is. Had a takeaway today it was a lamb buner Pilar rice nana bread and onlion barges lovely and the staff were really helpful it was well worth the money me and my friends had a takeaway from there about a month ago

I have always loved Moonlight however for the past few months the takeaway dishes are always swimming in oil. This then leaks all over the bag and makes a huge mess. Even then you still have to drain the oil off the food before you can eat it. If this issue was resolved Moonlight would be perfect.

The best curry in the area. We have tried various Currys in Lincoln but none are as good as here. Added to that the excellent customer service, you are on to a winner - could not do better.

BRILLIANT YUMMI FOOD! We can't thank you enough for taking the extra mile for adapting your food according to our needs (people living with diabetes). We had a blast and the food was excellent and the staff were very fun, lovely and made sure that we were all comfortable and happy. The venue is excellent for group dinners and sets the scenery for a calm and enjoyable evening. This is definitely a hidden gem! If you have a relative with diabetes or yourself has it, go to this place and request the cauliflower rice ( you will not be able to tell the difference , I guarantee) and let them know you are diabetic. The cherry on top of the cake was that the following morning my blood sugars were in the range !!! Whoop! There are so many limited restaurants (if any) that does that to people that live with the demanding and required diabetes management lifestyle and for these guys to make the extra mile to make this an exceptional evening for us and create a platform for diabetics to not worry much about the food selection , HATS OFF!!!! Could not belief that my boyfriend was literally eating everything out (more than anyone) as he apparently dislikes (not anymore ah) Indian food. Can't thank you enough , highly recommend it and will definitely recommend friends to visit. THANK YOUUUUUU , DUCK ;) !

Beautiful meal, accommodating staff who went out of their way to cook and serve for a table of 14 diabetics. The rice was substituted with different cauliflower rices which were fabulous, each with different flavours, the korma made with no sugar was to absolutely die for, I’m so sorry I can’t remember the names of all the dishes but it was a banquet and a half, lamb, chicken white fish, salmon it was amazing. As a diabetic eating out can be a minefield but to these guys a massive thumbs up for doing us proud. I fully recommend this venue, and if you are diabetic and on a LCHF way of eating let the guys know when you book your table and just ask for rice substitute of cauliflower rice etc.

My husband and I have been coming to the moonlight for some time. My husband is a vegetarian and loves curries. I don’t particularly like hot good. But, can I tell you Ash, Mo and all the staff do a fantastic job. They have invented a “Cheryl special” for me. It is heaven, and now, it is me suggesting to go for a curry. They do proper coffee now as well as no alcohol beers for those who have to drive or don’t drink. Well done guys. See you soon. Cheryl and grenville.
