Elach in West Lindsey

Enjoyable restaurant. The food was tasty and well cooked with a good range on the menu. Murgh Masala was my choice and it was tasty enough with a fair sized portion. Good service, with lovely staff too. Points off for not having an alcohol licence, although we did go to the off licence over the road for a couple of cans - not as good as draft though, but that's probably my personal choice. Try it, it's good!

Ate here last night. Attentive service which lasted throughout the whole meal. Poppadoms were lovely warm and fresh, pickle trays were full. Starters were very good. I really liked the fluffy puri bread rather than the thick mess that's sometimes served. We were asked as with the starters if we were ready for our mains. Dishes were piping hot, chivken was plentiful, big chunks of it, and the garlic nan was superb. Chips were nice too as was the pilau rice. It's quite some time since we've had such a lovely indian meal. We'd had a few drinks beforehand so just asked for jugs of water to drink, and we couldn't believe the bill was less than £43. It would have been nearly as much again in our local place where we live. Amazing food, and we would revisit in an instant.

An enjoyable Bangladeshi dining experience. The menu is extensive and the food was delicious and promptly served. We were made to feel very welcome. Prices are reasonable and it’s a pleasant setting too.

My husband collected our meal this evening, must of been a warm up from the night before, the starters were not nice at all. The chapati, smelt and tasted dreadul. We may have had a few lovely meals from Elach, but 1 bad meal had cost them our custom. And I mean bad meal.

Absolutely loved the food from this restaurant. Patia was authentic and full of flavour. Beef and prawn curry was delicious! Great Bombay Potatoes. Nan was very tasty. Wasn’t greasy, just delicious and the portions were generous

Awful food, beyond swimming in ghee. Somehow the mushroom tasted of nothing but ghee. The Murgh Masala contained half eggs. This is not on the menu. The other dishes were very similar in taste. And, an £80 order and one small bag of salad was sent. Anywhere else there would be several, plus poppadoms. Never again. This was grim.

Great food, at very reasonable prices and service as good as I have ever had anywhere, the two young ladies were a credit to the business and themselves, the little things go a long way The menu is great and every meal we had was piping hot, and really tasty, would compare it with any curry house I have ever been too

We had an excellent meal from their house specials. Great friendly service and took account of my gluten free requirement. Very tasty meal. BYOB really helps with the cost. Will be back when in Gainsborough.

Worst food ever, if you looking for a nice Indian food please do not order! Horrible horrible experience, they have to pay me for eating their curries !

This is by far the best Indian in the Gainsborough area, the food is always top notch I’d highly recommend!! The reason it’s not 5 stars is the service, the young girls spend more time on their phones than attending to customers.. BAN THE PHONES and you’ll have the best restaurant in the area 😃

A great little local curry house. With a good choice of speciality dishes along with the classics. We had several different dishes and all were full of flavour. We will definitely be returning. In my opinion the best Indian in Gainsborough.

We came here for an good Indian meal before I fly back to Australia. It did not disappoint!! The poppadoms were crispy and not oily, the peshwari Naan was the best I’ve ever tasted!! Service was excellent and a very enjoyable meal. Will be back!!

We went in as a group of 4 on a Saturday night. We took an American guest who was not use to Indian food but he loved it. It was a first time visit here but I highly recommend this restaurant. food was great and service was excellent.

Probably one of the best Indian Restaurants I have visited for a long time. I considered my meal was excellent and our group of four certainly agreed by finishing their meals with plates cleaned and smiles of satisfaction. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Jade, who checked between courses that we were ready for the next before serving it. There is no licence so bring your own alcoholic drinks, no corkage charge and this helps to keep the prices on the menu down. We will certainly be visiting again and have no hesitation in recommending this eatery. Give it a visit, you won't be sorry!!

I ordered two vegetable balti. one had miniscule carrot and LOTS of 1 inch slices of onion.. not very nice to eat, the other had miniscule carrot and two small pieces of potato!! Where is all the vegetables??? I also had to pour ghee off first as it was swimming in it!. Garlic bread ok but bit thick. Rice ok.

Over the years we have probably been to Elach 10+ times. This was the 3rd visit this week, I know! but Birthday and valentines. All 3 occasions the Food was excellent. Not serving alcohol means you can take what you like to drink. The staff are so friendly and I would say that nothing appears is too much trouble. It might be a week or so until we go again but its a definite

Good nite topped off with an Indian, not top quality but good atmosphere and not expensive, just need to improve the quality of ingredients in general, service was good.

In Gainsborough working ; fed up of pub food , so went in search of a curry; it has to be good ; as we are Brummies and were practically weaned on the stuff! Hubby had chicken and lamb tikka korai, it was amazing. I had a chefs special; King Prawn Sakute, slightly hotter than served normally; it was sublime ,fabulous prawns, onions, roasted garlic and the sauce was indescribably amazing! Sides and onion fried rice, sag bhaji , Nan all fabulous too. Service very attentive, we will definitely be back when next in Gainsborough, really good value too!

If I could I’d give a 0 rating, terrible staff making the poor young waitress do all the work alone, whilst what appeared to be the manager just stood there doing nothing on his phone speaking to the other waiters who were just stood there as well!

I often wonder about the worth of writing repeat reviews but actually any statistician will tell you that the size of the sample is very important. To that end I feel that me making a pig of myself again was in fact a generous exercise to enhance the veracity of research in the name of mankind. Cobblers you say and probably right. Truth is it's good food, well priced, served well by a friendly and helpful staff in a nice place. Plus the fact I'm a gannet.

Come here once a month with around 15 people from work. the food is always excellent, the portion size is very good, curry selection good and all taste great! the staff are friendly and attentive, and most of all its excellent value for money, a group of 15 usually only costs around £15 each!

My wife and I visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. As we ate early prior to an England World Cup game, we were the only ones in the restaurant. They appeared to be getting a good amount of take-away orders though.

Went here for a take out but decided to stay and eat in and order and full meal. I was with my wife, my 2yr old daughter and a new born. The staff were fantastic and very accommodatin to our young family needs. Food was great and the value for money was out of this world. We've eaten in many Indian restaurants but we feel by far this was the best to us. Can't wait to go back and will book for a party from work. Thanks guys keep up the good work.

Pleasant service and when I went into the restaurant everything had been refurbished and I would definitely sit and eat here. 5 star hygiene rating. We had a take away and it was not greasy, normally we have to pour off the oil. The meals we ordered were not chilli hot but had a depth of flavour, perhaps next time we will up it one for more of a 'kick'. So far on this first visit it is the best in Gainsborough. Don't have an alcohol licence however you are free to bring your own drinks. We will certainly come back and perhaps try a sit down meal rather than a take away.

I was in Gainsborough overnight yesterday for the first time in a long while. The Elach was recommended to me. I have to say that this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited. I started with the pickle tray followed by a mixed kebab. For main I had a Lamb Pasanda with mushroom rice with a mushroom Bhaji. The service was excellent, the quality of the food even better and all in a relaxed atmosphere. All credit to you and next time I am in Gainsborough, I shall pay you another visit.

Booked to go here with friends. Met and seated promptly. First problem. It was a warm evening and we were seated in the window with blinding sunlight. Although the windows had been tinted, two of us still had to wear sunglasses and all of us commented how hot is was. Waited for 10 minutes to be offered glasses for our "bring your own drinks". In the end , had to ask for them. Not good service.

Lovely meal for 4 adults and 2 children. Service was great and friendly. Lovely surprise of a birthday cake with giant sparkler candle ! Very impressed will definitely be going again soon.

Enjoyed our first visit to the Elach with our friends, lovely new restaurant well decorated, clean and a good menu and friendly staff, we all enjoyed our meals and good sized portions to boot. Doesn't have a alcohol license but that wasn't an issue easy to bring your own. Certainly will visit again sometime.

Our 6th meal out at Elach and as usual the food was very very good ! Its a nice place to eat , clean and tidy with a good atmosphere .

Visited the restaurant this evening with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was delicious. The food was of very high quality/standard. Our waiter Sam was extremely polite, friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

This was our second visit in 8 days first as a couple and second in a group of 14. On both occasions the staff and food were excellent. On the second visit (Saturday night) the restaurant was packed so with us being a large party we were expecting delays. We were greeted straight away, by John (what a diamond of a gentleman), and he soon took our orders. The poppadoms and pickles soon arrived (extra pickles supplied without a quibble) followed by our starters. The mains did take a little longer which we expected, but they all arrived together, which is no mean feat when you are cpoking for a party of 14. Once the meal had finished we were surprised with a birthday cake as we had told them it was a birthday celebration. All in all a good night made great by the good food, splendid staff and of course great company. We have dined at all 3 Indian style restaurants in Gainsborough and the Elach stands out as the best. Definitely going to be a regular visitor.

Called last minute to book a table and the staff just managed to find us a table - great service and food - highly recommended. No alcohol licence, but the staff welcome you taking your own beer/wine which makes for a very inexpensive meal out.

We had a staff party and ordered 27 curries. They were delivered at the right time and all 35 of us were impressed. Great flavours and quality. Would definitely recommend.

Yesterday evening was our third time dinning from this restaurant and, as usual, the meal was really enjoyable. Dishes cooked properly and full of flavour. Even our baby enjoyed trying the dishes! It is a highly recommend restaurant if you are up for an indian!

Visited Elach on Friday night, our first visit. The food was excellent, the best I have had from a takeaway or restaurant in many years. The staff were very friendly and the service was faultless. Elach does not have an alcohol licence so you can take your own drinks - or buy from the off licence straight over the road - this saved us a few quid over a typical restaurant bill. A very good evening out and we will definitely visit again (and will make this our regular takeaway ).

Visited Elach for the first time last night, the Staff where very friendly and polite and made us feel very welcom. I like my curries hot and ordered the Phall and I have to say I was not disappointed my Fiancee is less adventurous and ordered the Rogan Josh and really enjoyed it. The portions are generous and full of flavor and amazing value for money although the food could have been a bit warmer coming out the kitchen. We both had a wonderful time and will defiantly be going back soon. One thing to remember is to take your own alcohol as they don't serve any.

Our first visit this week with another couple. Very impressed with the level of service, friendliness of staff, quality, quantity and choice of food. Unfortunately we had to leave some food because basically we ordered too much, a portion of rice each along with naan bread is just being greedy. Along with pickle tray, popadoms, starter and mains plus sundries it cost less than £30 a couple, taking your own alcohol is also another plus. It was quiet whilst we were there as only us in the restaurant and would be interested to see if the level of service is the same when it is busy but will definitely be returning and also be ordering any future take outs from here.

This was the second time we had been but it is nice to know that it is consistent. Just after Christmas we had the set menu at £9.95 and a couple of extras. Quality cooking on both occasions and the service was excellent. A slight mistake on the first visit and they could not do enough to rectify it. Good cooking, good portions and friendly and efficient service without being in your face.

Went on one if there first nights of opening with 12 of our friends. You would think there would be a few teething problems on the first few night!! But not in our case the food was amazing the services was very attentive couldn’t of wished for a better night thank you! looking forward to visiting very soon!

Hi,I'm oliver and I really want to give this place five stars because I really love this place,I had a clicking korma witch was delicious and my parents loved there food to. I really want yo thank the people who work here because they were very helpful and kind .due to it being my birthday,at the end the lovely workers. Gave us a cake with cancels saying 13 and got the whole restraint to ding happy birthday,this is by far the best restraint I have ever been to and would definitely recommend this.thankyou

Popped into town for a takeaway and ended up staying for a meal as the host was so lovely and friendly.

This restaurant used to be the Raj Mahal until it became Elach and 'under new management'. We have always been 'regulars' and so were curious to see what changes had been made and try the new menu. Five of us had a beautiful meal with great service and will definitely continue to support the new 'team'. Keep up the good work Elach!
