Mitali restaurant in Hyndburn

Looks like the chef has been changed. The sheek kebabs were quite tasteless and the red sauce was watery and no taste..main meal was chicken madras and the chicken now has an outside red tinge to it.. sauce was good chicken not so good.. chips lovely but won't be ordering again. Will go back to akash

Ok, I have frequented matali many times over many years, always enjoyed. I visited this evening with family for Mother’s Day. The food was very nice as usual but my word, your portions are pitiful!!! I would say the portion of chips we received would not satisfy a toddler! Same with the rice portions. I’m not a big eater but this must be the first time I have left an Indian restaurant without feeling full. Some of the family had to order emergency Nan bread when the food came due to the poor portions! Such a shame!

The quality of food and service was excellent. Only one beer on tap, but plenty of bottled options with a very good wine list available also. The restaurant is quite small but the decor and furniture is lovely.

Despite an entirely pleasant dining experience I have to give a low score. My girlfriend repeatedly explained she had a lactose intolerance and not to use ghee butter. They must have ignored this for she was ill all the next day 😠

It would have been an excellent evening however my partner has a lactose intolerance problem which was discussed at length with staff. Despite explaining that no lactose products could be used in the cooking they obviously where used because she was ill all the next day 😠 If they were unable to accommodate they should have said so and we would have gone elsewhere.

Visited with a large group for dinner on a Saturday evening and the service and food was first class. No complaints from anyone in our group after an excellent meal.

Ordered Takeaway.....absoultly goreous. Highly recommended. You must try, plus cheapest delivery. Will order in future.

Just had a fantastic meal at Mitali on a Monday evening. This was a great day to experience the food, service and atmosphere. 5 stars for each. Food beat expectations. Cost was fantastic, great value for the money. Definitely be back when in the area.

Well it’s been a couple of years since our last visit and even though the exterior needs a facelift the interior is very nice The food was amazing and no complaints whatsoever from any in our group of five everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The staff very friendly and altogether a really great experience. The chicken tikka vindaloo was absolutely delicious and so full of chicken very highly recommended.

The Mitali has been around for years and one of Accrington town centres favourite curry houses. Since we were last in, it has undergone a complete modernisation and fresh decor. Gone are the old fashioned dining booths and in is a much more modern, open plan, friendlier affair. The place was busy and we hadn't booked but the staff managed to find us a table for 4 within a very short period. The food was good although the draught beer is very limited - just Carling. The rest is by the bottle. But the staff were attentive and friendly and all 4 of us enjoyed a lovely evening.

ordered a takeaway for myself and my partner, who loves chips but these were so bad she couldnt eat them, i ordered tandoori chicken which was so bad i threw it in the bin she got two starters again landed in the bin, it was a complete waste of £26 which was far too expensive for what we got even if it had been edible needles to say we wont be using them again ready money will spend anywhere.

Two buffets on the bounce from here. 1st visit was bloody lovely. Really enjoyed it but 2nd time the food was barely warm, starter wise. I'd say there was more people ordering off menu rather than having buffet. Maybe they know better lol. Decent staff. Will be back but not for a while & probably not the buffet sadly. Roy.

First time in a while,I used to love their food. But tonight turned a corner. Who in goods name puts more boiled potatos than chicken in a chicken balti. Total rubbish. If I wanted potatos I'd have peeled some and avoided being ripped of to the tune of 15 quid ....... shocking. To be fair they offered me a replacement But why would you?

Went with friends and was insulted as I entered the establishment. Owner has no sense of place or time and his jokes are inappropriate. My friend no longer goes there as he is rude and we have commented he is rude. He seems unaware of social etiquette and carries on regardless. Good job there is no completion in Accrington.

Chutney and poppadoms very nice. Though few of sauces tad runny. Onion baharjis lacked flavour. Basically no seasoning. Same applied to Chicken Samba. Only 1 slice of lemon in dish. Sauce was overly spiced and lacking in flavour. Again due to insufficient seasoning. My friend left his Biryani. Again bland. Two meals. Starter and pickle tray. Came to £48 . Comment could have got a better curry from the shelf of Aldi. Owner more concerned with building a huge magnet . To destroy all mobile phones. Clearly. Not only unable to make a tasty curry. Also keep adrift he lives in 2022 and England. Give it a miss.

Great food Unfriendly proprietor. His sense of humour includes putting the guests off their guard. I did not appreciate this.

We've been going to the Mitali for over twenty years but unfortunately will not go again. On two separate visits one member of staff was extremely rude. No people skills and undeserving of customers.We left and went somewhere else where we were greeted pleasantly. Which is as it should be!Think they need to look closely at their customer service. Will no longer recommend this place to anyone.

Had takeaways and occasional ate in over many years.. never again!! Takeaway tonight was awful… not remotely spiced or seasoned. Truly worst ever and we regularly eat Indian food… will not give them our business again.

Never changes, always the best. It is one place you never tire of going and the staff are brilliant!!!

Dont know how long we've been going to this place but surely its legendary? Just try the 'tandoori night' special. Can't fault it and if you like a bit of banter the waiters are up to the task.

Always good food and great place. Feels like this place has stood the test of time went there last night and it was as busy as ever which says in its self how popular it is. At one time we never went for an Indian till after midnight.

There MAY be better places for quality, but for value and downright excellent curry its the best. Ignore lancashire bills comments - he backs up the views of a council which is responsible for the collapse of all local towns. I dont care if you've filled a form in wrong, I go for the food which happens to be fantastic. The North Indian garlic dish is possibly one of the tastiest things I've eaten anywhere in this world. Keep it up lads and ignore the miserable gits

Went here on a Thursday night during covid. Sanitiser station when you first walk in. Not sure tables are enough apart if it was busy but there were only 3 tables in. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Food was reasonably priced and good portions but most importantly, really tasty! Where some Indians are greasy and just hot, ours we’re full of flavour and not at all greasy. I’m a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me. My husband always has naan and is fussy and he said they were lovely. Venue was nice and clean, there is a small step to get in but we managed it with a pram. Would highly recommend this Indian

Went here whilst on a long weekend away, place looked really nice upon arriving, were seated promptly and staff took our order. Upon receiving our starter I knew this wasn't ending well, the pakora came absolutely covered in grease. Moving on to our main, the rice was lovely i can say that as that's all I ate, the curry was enough give me the heave, so much so I stood outside waiting on my Fiancé to pay so I could go get a strong drink to mask the taste.

Was in Accrington visiting family and friends and went for a meal here on Sunday 02/08/2020. Ordered Chicken Pakora to start with and the plate was full of greasy oil and all you could taste was the oil. For a main we had a Chicken Tikka Bhuna and it was tasteless. Really disappointed and as a regular visitor to Accrington from Glasgow I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Went here on a Saturday night just after new year. It was a surprise how they have done the place up. The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. I saw in the window it only had a 3* food hygiene rating, not sure why that is but I will be back it was lovely. I don't think I even farted in the night

Been several times to Mitali Tandoori, the food is always been first class , and always enjoyed eating there ,, and shall continue to visit the restaurant in the future

Quite a long time since our last visit here but glad to say standards are still very good. Very attentive waiters and the food was outstanding certainly woul£ recommend for future visits. The chicken phaal was brilliant !!!!

Beignets were good but besides that the food had zero flavor. The waitress was extremely rude and didn’t even check on our table till the end of the meal. This place was our least favorite restaurant on our trip and the food is not cheap. Save your money and go somewhere better.

Food was tasty but they use excess of Red food colouring! If only they reduce the amount of food colour they could achieve an extra star!

The food here is hard to beat. There’s no denying that. I had stuffed pepper for starter, chicken jalfrezi for main. Both were ace. The service was very slow. Wasn’t like there was a huge group of us either, possibly 15 people. One of our party had his curry passed to him in a metal dish thing. The food had obviously just been cooked so the dish was very hot and they passed it over another couple of guests and into his hand, rather than into the table. Surprised it didn’t burn his finger tips off! Thought it was really bizarre and exceptionally poor.

Food is always perfect, served fresh and hot. Been going here for years and I've never had a single complaint. The staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you.

This is the only good Indian restaurant that I know of in this area. It has a really good reputation with the locals and apart from the noise, the meal was faultless. The taste, the spice, the atmosphere, everything was perfect and is every bit authentic. I had the jalfrezi which was excellent. The naan was good too.

Poor experience unfortunately, went here with an individual with learning disability's the guy at the front of the house was very unwelcoming and quite rude, drinks and food ordered but drinks were not brought until mid main meal and we had starters after asking about the drinks twice, food was okay nothing spectacular and portion size for what you pay for is definately not worth it as its overpriced. had better experiences with indian cuisine with takeaways, not recommended.

Not much in Accrington food wise, but it's nice to see the Mitali busy. Food great,service great and you still get a vimto lollipop !!!!! At the end. Hasn't changed in years. Update 1st March 2019 : food hygiene rating was zero, now 3. Haven't been back to since to see if anything else has changed, but good to see a change

unplanned visit while in the area great food great service and reasonable prices but the portion sizes let it down for us especially the side of rice two large tablespoons and it was nearly gone..curry was great but served in a small bowl and we left having enjoyed our meal but still hungry..can't fault the food but need to work on the portion sizes..with emphasis on the rice portions!
