Spice Guru in Reigate and Banstead

We have been loyal customers for several years. We’ve eaten inside but mainly takeaways. We opted for delivery, usually I pick it up, but it was 1hr 30mins until it arrived! Chased after 1 hour and I was told it was with the driver. We live about 5mins drive away. Not good enough.

We were a party of 12 and the service and food was excellent.waiters very good at explaining dishes ,Will definitely be visiting again .

Always great food from Spice Guru. Favourites are Lusani Chicken Tikka and King Prawn Korai. Railway Lamb also a winner.

The extra chillies requested really added to my favourite dish. Lovely fresh popadoms, thank SG

Incredible food you will feel very satisfied, the atmosphere is great. The owner is incredibly nice and helped us all the time. Fantastic value for money, all round the best Indian restaurant experience I’ve had in a very long time!

Stunning as always. We have used Spice Guru for years both take away and sit in and have never been disappointed.

We’ve now had a takeaway twice from spic guru as our friends introduced us the first time and have now tried it again in just two weeks just in case the first one, we just got lucky but the second is just as amazing so we needed to write a review. The chicken shaslick is the best we’ve ever had and we’ve had curries for over 20 year!!

I really found it hard to choose which dish to have as there were so many delicious options, vegetarian and otherwise. I opted for the lamb (railway)and it was so good, tender and tasty, and the portion size was very generous! The naans were light, fluffy and delicious! The poppadom chutneys and so on were fantastic, 6 different types. (They work really well if you mix a couple together on each bite!!) We really enjoyed our meal and had fun. The service was very good too and attentive. Definitely recommend!!

The food was delicious, the restaurant tidy & not cramped & the service was on point. To sum up…Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, good food, good service & relaxing ambience …we will be back👍

ordered tandoor mixed grill no salad or mint sauce which was disappointing as I've always ordered from here. bad night perhaps?

The food tasted nice and the service was great. PORTION SIZES :( The only thing we were very surprised by was the portion sizes when eating in the restaurant! They were VERY small compared to any other curry house ive been to (probably about 20 in my lifetime) And compared to take aways. The chicken dishes had 6 small bits of chicken in and not much sauce. The rice was also a very small portion. I will be honest, i would not go back because we couldn’t even share the dishes how we planned to because the portions were just so small. It was really disappointing. You need to increase your portion sizes a bit in line with other restaurants.

We had a great take away from this restaurant. We ordered a variety of mains: Chicken Tikka Pasanda, Lamb Tikka Jalfrezi, Balti vegetable and King prawn korai with boiled and plain rice and Nan breads. Everything was delicious. will definitely use you again!

Server was incredibly rude when two out of seven of us wanted to share a curry. Server said it’s Friday night and they need the business in a rude tone. This was a birthday meal. Unhappy won’t be turning

Without doubt the very best all round curry house in reigate. Food, staff and service are just fantastic. They always do there very best to make sure your experience is to your expectations.

The food was very good but over an hour late. Maybe an excess of orders on New Year's Day but an hour late is too much.

Good food and delivered on time too

I just had a meal here with my family. The food was amazing, one of the best curries I have ever had. The service was really friendly and good.

Food delivered was not what we ordered. Ordered peshwari naan but got garlic. Ordered cauliflower bhaji but got potato. Not sure why the restaurant didn’t call to ask what we wanted if they didn’t have cauliflower- we had potato in one of our mains (railway curry) so didn’t want an extra side of potatoes. We’ve used Spice Guru lots of times but very disappointed this time.

Food was really good, I've rated it highly since it was Lal Akash. Service is very friendly and I like the room/decor. My only criticism: it can get very noisy - make sure you're sat next to someone you want to listen to or wants to listen to you!

Booked a table for 6 which was 4 with 2 seats at the end far too cramped. Service ok atmosphere was loud. The food was poor. Onion bhaji was stodgy my main was a chicken karahi the chicken was so dry with little sauce all the meals were not good enough. Very disappointed won’t be rushing back!!

Have visited this restaurant a few times now. Food is always fantastic as is the service. Very reasonably priced too. Will keep going back!

We have always had a lovely delivery from spice guru, but today unfortunately our order arrived 45 mins late (2 hours after ordering) and the food was all cold not even warm. Really disappointing. I know there were issues due to road closure in Reigate due to the Xmas market , but if this was a problem then they should not have accepted delivery. £47 gone to waste.

Delivery One hour later than told.

Took a while, was lukewarm, found my dishes a bit bland and the peshwari naan I was looking forward to didn’t arrive and instead was substituted with a plain naan 👎🏻

Great curry, great atmosphere, very reasonable priced for the area. Cons - cut up naan bread (pet peeve) and portions are slightly on the smaller.

Delicious Garlic Chilli Chicken Tikka is a perfect level of spice to me, very flavourful!

The food is good. A great variety in the menu.. A little mild for my Indian taste buds. The service is great and the staff quite friendly. Check this place out if you are craving for some nice curries.

The food was ordered at 18.05. It was meant to take 45 minutes. Then it was moved to 19.05. When we chased up the order time was moved to 19.20. We called the restaurant several times and it delivery was promised within 10 minutes several times. The food arrived at 19.54.

Unacceptable! Waited 1hr 50 mins for delivery. Was told they would leave after 1 hour, then told us there was a problem with the driver so they would bring it out. When we called for the 3rd time (about 50mins later) they said the driver was 10 minutes away. We live less than 10 minutes away!!!!! Had to cancel the order. Just lied to us

Although the style of several of the dishes is different from other local Indian restaurants, the flavours were robust and well balanced, with spice, heat and freshness. The food was hot and the portions well-sized. We will order from here again, even though it is not the cheapest (nor the most expensive).

Returned home from a hard day at work and a menu was posted through our door. Being an extremely fussy eater I usually stick to restaurants i have eaten at and enjoy just to be on the safe side. However I thought I would give them a try. Food was delivered on time amd extremely hot still. The delivery driver was also very friendly. Must say the food was absolutely beautiful and everything had its own flavour. Such a tasty curry. This is my first time here. The staff is very friendly. I asked him which beer is softer and lighter, and he answered patiently. It's a pity that the curry is relatively sweet. I thought it would be spicy and spicy, so it is not to my taste... and the pancake is not what I know... I don’t know if different regions have different tastes... but it’s very different from what I ate in India.

I went here on a first date last week and it's gives the scenery of and the customer service was excellent. The head waiter was very attentive to detail

This place is a gem! Has quickly become our favourite curryhouse since moving to the area. Friendly staff, nice inside and the food is excellent.

The quality of food is really good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, the restaurant was very quiet when we was there but it was late on a Sunday. Street parking only.

Having moved to Reigate from Tooting we were disappointed at the quality of local Indian cuisine. I don't know how long they've been doing it but right now Spice Guru are consistently delivering that fab taste I'd till now missed, plus caring service. Particularly recommend the Scotch Bonnet curry for chillie fans. Thankyou Spice Guru!

2 small prawns and 1/4inch onion so strange for 8,50 dish no mint sauce with starter anymore, chips and Nan bread hard so unedible . Chicken tikka was edible . Sad as I go to this restaurant regularly but it’s no off my list

The restaurant marked the order as delivered 45 mins before we actually received order. I presume this was because the restaurant wanted to misrepresent compliance with the Just Eat App service levels (this was after the original delivery time was extended). I asked the restaurant why they did this and they said they pressed the wrong button. The salmon tikka dish was cold. The other dishes we okay.

Our go to favourite restaurant. It is so good, staff are lovely and the food quality is amazing. I really recommend the Rogan Josh curry and jasmine rice. They also have great vegetarian options

Love this restaurant. Staff can’t do enough for you. Food is the best, eat in or take away. Little bit more expensive but really worth the money. The fact I have had a take away curry delivered from elsewhere and put it in the bin although cheaper. You have to ask if I’m only eating a little then binning it. I’d rather pay a little more.

Visited on a weekend evening recently in a party of six. We all took staters and mains, some veggie some not. IMHO the Barrie’s were dry, the king prawn korma was fairly tasteless, and a small portion. £18 for this plus rice was expensive for what it was. Staff were friendly but forgetful. The place was early evening and not in the least busy. Vegetarians in our party said they were happy.

There cannot surely be a better restaurant for Indian cuisine than Spice Guru. If there is, I have yet to come across it. As a party of 4 we ordered up a mixed starter tray, leaving the contents to the judgement of the server (Jay). We ended up with a palette of samosas, chicken tikka, kebabs with salad garnish which we consumed in short shrift alongside the stack of papadoms and assorted pickles. Absolutely delicious. Followed up with an array of main courses, mine a lamb Begum Bagaar, with side dishes of saag aloo, vegetable curry, cauliflower bhaji followed with Irish coffees and ice cream. What a wonderful meal. Couldn't fault anything - all super delicious and the service impeccable. Highly recommended but very popular so need to pre-book.

The food was delivered late and luke warm. There was an item missing. The food was tasty. In fairness it was Friday evening at peak time so I guess they were busy.

Ordered chicken and lamb momo. Never in my life have I imagined what I got. This is just some meat cooked in a pickle.

The food was sooo good and portionsizesjuat perfect. The lamb was soft and served in nice pieces without being fatty. The chicken curry and vegetable side dishes were tasty without being too sweet or overwhelming with spices. Yes, it is a bit dark due to the low lighting but just use your phone as a torch to read the menu. Very popular restaurant and its easy to understand why. Definitely book in advance.

Arrived barely lukewarm aubergine smelling completely off thin sauces not their usual standard by a mile considering putting a new order in at another resteraunt as barely edible

It was an order for a lot of people. I had preordered and received a confirmation email 90 mins in advance and the delivery arrived almost to the minute of the requested time. Excellent.

Ordered at 6.30, deliver due 7.20-7.40. Called at 8pm to be told it had left the kitchen. Called at 8.20 and got told the order had never been seen so hadn’t been made. Got told they would make it and it would be with me in 20 mins, 8.50 called again and it was only just leaving. Arrived after 9pm. The fact I got lied to when I called the first time and was told it had left the kitchen shows they clearly just said what I wanted to hear as they later admitted there was no ticket printed so couldn’t have even checked! When it arrived the mixed grill was missing the prawn as well so didn’t even get the order right when it arrived. I would expect a refund for this as it is not acceptable.

Food was excellent and service very attentive and quick. One of our party has coeliac disease, and most the whole menu was gluten free which is great. There were also plenty of delicious vegetarian options - the paneer starter was especially delicious. The lights were very low and it is quite a dark, moody atmosphere - no bad thing, but something to be aware of if you prefer a lighter environment!

Absolutely outstanding spice and flavour. I asked for extra chilli and vindaloo hot and it was cooked to perfection.

Whatever chef was working tonight got this absolutely spot on. High levels of spice/flavour and heat. Delicious.

Food was nice but portions of my starter was tiny another starter came out cold then when recooked was raw butterfly prawn, mains were nice though , we were in a large group but service seemed a little chaotic but staff were friendly

This is the second time we have ordered from here. We both had the chicken tikka sag and onion bhaji, great flavours and would highly recommend. We have pretty much ordered from every curry house in the area and this one is definitely on top
