Indus Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

The food wasn’t delivered at all, and we ended up going to collect it, as we’d waited 90 minutes and were starving hungry. Don’t bother with this restaurant or JustEat.

Used to be our favourite restaurant so we ordered take away. We can only assume that Shah has changed his chef. We put in a large order (under Piers' name) and found most dishes to be bland, even the pompadoms were dry and not eaten.

Great food at a very good price, with very good customer service. My regular, go to, indian restaurant. The lamb roghan is excellent.

Both dine in and take away, can’t fault food or service , with current 15% off it’s a very good deal! Highly recommend

We ordered a takeaway which we were told would take an hour. 2hrs and 30mins later, our food still hasn’t arrived. Appalling service.

Very friendly folk on the phone. Ordered takeaway. Absolutely delicious and not greasy or too salty. Will definitely be ordering from there again.

1st visit to this lovely Indian restaurant. The food was amazing. For starters, we had garlic mushrooms and vegetable samosa. For the main, I had the garlic lamb curry, and my partner had a vegetable curry and rice. Both were very tasty. The staff we very friendly but sadly the restaurant is closing on 19th May, they will still be offering takeaway and a delivery service but if you can support a local restaurant YOU MUST try this one. I will definitely be having a takeaway from them in the future. I wish them well, and good luck in the future!!

I am extremely disappointed with this order. I was looking forward to this takeaway and have paid for an overpriced takeaway. when it had arrived, there was only 4 pieces of very small chicken pieces in each of the chicken curry dishes. The chicken that was also hardly there was very tough and chewy and not pleasant to eat. Also, the curry was very bland. Because of this, I will be expecting further action on this as I believe that I have not paid £50 quality food.

We’ve had meals in-house and takeaways. Always delish! Will recommend. Have been using them for around 3yrs now and not had a bad meal!

Really disappointing. Wrong rice delivered. Mixed grill was small, chewey, no peppers. Onion bajhis cold in the middle. Jalfrazi tasteless. Dont recommend and won't be using again - spend your money elsewhere.

Friendly service on arrival for takeaway, sadly food very poor. No flavour or spice in either main dish ordered. Rice and bread acceptable as you would expect of rice and bread.

I’ve eaten here multiple times, takeaway and in the restaurant and have loved it every time! The staff are very attentive and always remember us when we go. Food is always 10/10, the best local place to go for a curry!

The worst but most expensive curry I've had, paid £57 for takeaway that was just 5 dishes no rice, no nan bread or starters.... 1st off they advertise 10% off for collection but when we got there to collect he said no its 10% off the takeaway menu prices..!!! False advertising!!!! We were expecting good things from the reviews and prices....but oh no..... The chicken was dry and so chewy and in the one curry we paid extra for tikka chicken there was hardly any chicken and the pieces were tiny.... Avoid this place.....save your money.....!!!

Ordered takeaway for 5 people and when it arrived it was cold and watery and was not worth the money. Maybe al lot of deliveries went out at the same time and ours was last Would not order a takeaway from here again maybe it’s ok if you eat in . A shame as we ordered from this restaurant as most of the reviews were quite good.

First and foremost,they do try there best. Staff seems to be one in one out, which I get. Value for money, not good. When you look at Indian restaurants local too "Nork/Banstead". I'm opposite this restaurant and of a last resort I will use but other than that, not for me. If your looking for a decent amount of meat which I don't believe they give in your meal. We went for dinner on a Tuesday night hoping to have relaxing dinner. The food was pretty average but very overpriced. We were charged £5.40 for a cheese naan. What spoilt the whole experience was there was a table of about 12 men near us who were drunk and shouting all the time. Every other word had the 'f' word in it and we couldn't even hold a conversation ourselves as it was so loud. I know the restaurant like to make money serving lots of drinks but they should have told the group to keep the noise down. It completely spoilt what was supposed to be a relaxing evening out and we couldn't wait to leave. I mentioned it to the waiter but he didn't really say anything.

We ate here for the first time due to a family recommendation we pre ordered take away it came on time and also piping hot and was very delicious. The lady that delivered was very lovely remembered my family member and was asking how their last order was and did they enjoy the food. TOP customer service and will definitely return when in the area!

We always get takeaway from Indus. It NEVER disappoints. Always delicious and always arrives hot! Every dish is so full of flavour, chicken tikka korai is delicious!

My partner & I decided to make a last minute early evening reservation at Indus yesterday. I had not visited this restaurant for many years despite living locally, but my partner wanted to try it. The service was typically polite & efficient. The curries we ordered were tasty - both from the Specials section of the menu. It was a very pleasant meal; however I felt the tables were a little close together for comfort. For example, we could very clearly hear the conversation of the table of four people to one side of us, whilst we were quietly studying the menus, which was unfortunate. I suspect when the restaurant is full this isn’t a problem. We will probably return. Recommended.

Two people, starters, mains and sides came to £45. Collection deal of 10% off. Food is absolutely delicious and highly recommended!

Excellent meal at Indus. Crispy poppadoms to start, accompanied with fresh sauces. Chicken madras, pilau rice & a garlic naan for main. Very flavoursome dishes. A few Cobra beers & brandies had during the meal. Will be back for sure.

Had a great meal out at this Indian restaurant with friends on a Friday night. The food was great. Was really busy for a Friday night and thus service was a little slow but left lots of time to talk to friends. Can recommend everything.

I ordered a takeaway from here consisting of a biryani and another side dish, the biryani was inedible due to the huge amount of salt in it luckily the veg curry an the side dish I ordered were ok and edible, the biryani was thrown away as it was inedible. A total waste of money if ordering this.

Excellent food and service. Went with husband and 90+ year old parents and staff were polite and patient with us all! We had onion bahji to start and then some of the house special curries for mains. Nan was perfectly cooked. Raita great. No room for dessert! Nice ambience. Tablecloths, good glassware etc. Everything looked well taken care of and clean. Thoroughly recommend.

I ordered a takeaway meal for myself as a treat, and what a treat it was indeed. Spoke to two very polite and friendly staff members and then had a meal that was absolutely outstanding. Kashmiri chicken is now my absolute favourite. Compliments to the chef for the fantastic food and to the gentlemen that were so kind when I arrived. Thank you.

Although I'm an advocate of Indus and use it as I'm local. I must say I just ordered a Lamb Biriyani for collection and I may have well ordered a Vegetable Biriyani.....Hence to say lack of Lamb Dissatisfied and Disappointed, BUT I will continue to use

Not a good experience overall , the meal I ordered was over an hour late . The lamb passanda was tasteless and very watery , the poppadoms tasted like they had been cooked in burnt oil , I for one will definitely not be using again .

Not sure I will go back for a long time since our last two visits. Food just ok quite bland in fact. Made an error with naans. We ordered peshwari not plain. Inconsistencies such as some get a drink on house and others don’t which is the same with chocolates. Our kids like the chocolates but it’s hit and miss whether you get them. More often or not just get bill with no question asked about everything ok with your food! Heard a few people mention now it’s not the same as it used to be. Will try somewhere else next time.

Didn't know it had changed ownership. Still good value and same good fish and chips. I like it because they still do gluten free meals. Remember if you want G/ F you have to book.. Monday Tuesday and Wednesday only.

Waited an hour and 20 mins on a Saturday evening for the first course to arrive!! Obviously very popular restaurant but not enough staff. Won’t be hurrying back

We celebrated a delayed Christmas lunch and, despite some initial reservations, it proved to be a great success. Twelve of us had a variety of meals ranging from rather mild, but certainly not bland, to the more flavoured, and hotter, curries. Without going into unnecessary detail, the meal was a welcome success with no one having a single negative comment. The service was excellent too. It is worth noting that this is no longer the great value it was, but I guess price increases will be the order of the day across more and more places. Bottom line we are already planning our next visit...

Last minute choice and so happy we dined at this great restaurant New Year’s Day! Staff are so welcoming and service was efficient and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Food was absolutely delicious all choices were fab. We had fish, lamb & chicken dishes all equally well seasoned and spices were spot on. Lemon chicken was very good. Good selection of wines and reasonably priced. All four of us had a great evening after a disappointing let down from the Derby Arms! Thank you Indus keep up the excellent service you provide. Thank you!

Always excellent food & fabulous service

We went for dinner mid-week and were surprised at how busy it was. Nevertheless we enjoyed great food, drink and service over three hours, along with complimentary chocolates and liqueurs. Perfect.

First visit here... staff were friendly and attentive and no long waits for food or drinks. Initially, upon tasting the food, it seemed somewhat bland, and I don't mean not spicy 'heat-wise', just that both meat dishes tasted very similar even though they should have been quite different... However, as the meal progressed the flavours of the shatkora became more evident. The 'tikka' flavour of the korai wasn't very obvious though. We'll definitely go again and try some other dishes to get a variety of flavours. The accompaniments were lovely.

In days gone by I'd have said this was a standard curry house, but really it's a clean smart restaurant which is covid-aware and the food is good. A five-star curry house has your beer ready for you as you walk in.

Hi live near two very well known curry restaurants. I decided to try Indus for a change for a takeaway and I can honestly say the Garlic Lamb Curry was the best I’ve tasted even as a curry dish... Wonderful.. 👍🏻👍🏻

During this tough period we have not had the pleasure of eating in . We have used various local takeout restaurants. My girlfriend queued after ordering. Absolutely worth it fantastic food.

We ordered for the first time and unfortunately the food was cold and watery - we called the restaurant to let them know but they weren't willing to rectify it. Its a shame as we tried it from a friends a recommendation.

I got another takeaway from Indus yesterday and it was fantastic. The Covid measures are first class and the food was as always was so so good. Thanks to all of you for providing great food and service.

Plenty of Covid Precautions in place, including having your temperature taken at the door. Empty tables separating Diners and various transparent screens. An excellent start and the Food lived up to our expectations. Thoroughly Recommend.

The Indus is for us the only place to go locally for a curry. Eat in or takeaway the service is always gracious and attentive. The food is of the highest quality.

Covid-19 arrangements are excellent so you feel safe and can enjoy the great food and friendly service.

We’ve been going to Indus for years. Last night was our first visit since lockdown and it was extremely well set up for social distancing. And the service and food were fantastic, as it always is. A great night!

I had dinner tonight with my wife and everything was top notch. When we walked in our temperature was taken and our hands were sanitised. Then we were shown to our table that was not close to other people. The chicken Tikka Dhansak was outstanding...

Visited here last Monday and have to say it was great. All COVID measures in place (temperature check, sanitisers, social distancing etc) and felt very reassured, comfortable and welcoming. Food was amazing as usual, nice to eat in instead of a takeaway 😀

Lovely food, polite and attentive staff, felt perfectly safe as social distancing being fully adhered to. Eat out to help out scheme definitely helped out.

We ate here on a Monday evening, great atmosphere, the food was some of the best Indian food we have ever eaten. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered a takeaway via their website this evening. Order accepted and estimated 55mins. 1hr 20mins later called to find out the progress. They were terrible on the phone and couldn’t find my order initially. They kept passing the phone around and eventually spoke to someone who found the order. It was obvious they hadn’t started it and they said was going to another 20mins. Very disappointed and will never order from them again.

Having lived in the area for a year, we have just got round to trying the local curry house. Well, I do not need to look any further. Great flavours, meat was so tender. Awesome from start to finish. Thank you very much.

Just had a lovely meal here, first time at the Indus. I had a chicken pasanda and mushroom rice which were both delicious. Onion bhaji starter was also very nice, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Offered a complimentary liquer whilst waiting for the bill, a nice touch. Will definitely go back.

I was there for a Christmas diner with about 15 friends. Great food. But catching the waiters' attention is almost impossible, and even when you do, they often don't understand you. I wanted to order a starter - no chance. I wanted another beer -...

By far the finest cuisine and service in Banstead

Poor service, mediocre food, dry chicken - yet the place is packed. I'm either ordering the wrong dishes, or the quality of Indian restaurants this vacinity is poor. I suspect the later.

Food was freshly prepared, nice but was very late served.

He may treat the customers in a welcoming manner, shame it can't be said about his staff......he has placed a written policy from "management" advising anyone not in "Managament" that eating food and drinking is not allowed as it cost that company money and also within the same policy he has stated that something about VAT !!!!!!! PPPPPPFFFFFFFFTTTTT DO YOU THINK THESE BIYANIBAZAARIS PAY TAXES ??????

We had a lovely meal with our 2 friends at Indus. We were well looked after by the lovely staff. The meal was delicious and plentyful.

The food is excellent. The restaurant is very clean with excellent linen. The attention of the waiters is very polite and attentive. A visit is a very pleasant experience.

Visited this lovely restaurant again with very special friends from Scotland, and I was so delighted at the full experience my Party were treated to, by efficient caring waiting staff, and the tastiest food around. The setting and ambience are excellent, with a varied choice of delightful dishes, at good pricing. This is my Restaurant of choice now for great Indian food.

Met with 2 friends for a curry at Indus. Greeted by the owner Shah, with a very warm welcome. Poppadoms to begin, whilst we gave our orders for starters. Onion bhaji, samosa & chicken tikka. We then ordered mains, which included plain rice, pilau rice, naan bread, chicken tikka madras, lamb methi & lamb phall. All dishes were very tasty & prepared with care & attention. Shah checked a few times with us that all was well - which it definitely was. A super restaurant in Banstead, established since 1991. Well worth a visit.
