The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

This used to be our go to chinese and we would drive 20 mins or more to get here, Last here in in Dec 2024 when was perfect as usual. ' visited in Jan and something changed since Dec. Service was slow as in 20 mins between starter taken away and next course and then another 20 mins till the main course ! Special fried rice - looked nothing like the picture. looked like the egg fried rice with tiny bits of meat thrown in and no prawns at all. no flavouring either . Crispy noodles - was not crispy but regular noodles, bland and too dry. a scattering of small meat pieces . Chicken dish was soggy and again bland, Service was friendly enough but this was not enough to compensate for the disappointing food. Maybe the chef had an off night or there has a been a change of chef, but it was enough to make us look elsewhere, I could have cooked better and saved a lot of money!!

I travel from Reading to come here - its amazing. Best Chinese around! Don't hesitate, just book it and go! We go every couple of weeks without fail and the food never disappoints.

Everything was mediocre but 1 waiter, he was rude the whole time, we got told we was lying about the food being cold then he stuck his finger in the food, made to wait hour and 20 mins for our table, wasn’t given menus when sat down, gave looks to our family (mainly my mother who’s birthday it was and is pregnant), when we tried to raise our complaints the manager (the rude waiter) simply was looking for a fight and told us all we had no intention of paying and told us we should leave, one of the worst if not the worst restaurant I’ve been to, definitely to not recommend, absolutely disgusting.

This place has certainly had its time. Desperately needs a urgent refurbishment. I wonder when the last hygiene inspection was done?? The food was without doubt precooked and totally tasteless tried to complain but said I was lying!!! Also very strange when you call it gets diverted and a strange ringing. They have also reduced their portion size but not the price. I will never go back there. Try Hong Kong up the road from there. They honestly don't give a danm.

I went and ordered in the takeaway and it came a little too quickly. I got home and the chicken balls were pink inside, the rice and noodles tasted of old oil/unkempt pans and it was inedible. I phoned and was told to take pictures of the chicken and send via WhatsApp and if I did this I might get a free dish next time. A categorical no from me as I will NEVER order from this place again. I have a Labrador and I would not feed it to him and it is all in the bin. £20 wasted. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE, Environmental health needs to go in.

Fab-u-lous Had a wonderful meal here tonight with my gorgeous husband. Food was excellent - really really tasty and lots of it. Service was warm and friendly. Lovely family atmosphere - which made our evening! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

Having read mixed reviews we weren’t sure about our visit. But we had a great time with fresh food cooked to order and as much as you wanted. Ok things arrived in a bit of a random order but no bother. The family that run the restaurant are really nice and friendly. It’s good value and a casual vibe. There were 7 of us and we were all well fed. Will return.

It used to be excellent value for money,now I cannot say the same. Very overpriced and completely average food. Some of the food was like warm at best and lots of it extremely tasteless. Flat rola cola. Extremely disappointed. Will not go back as much better food for cheaper in other restaurants.

Great fun. Nibbles were disappointing given it has a Chinese restaurant next door as part of the same place. Eaten next door before and food lovely so was expecting more from the karaoke finger food.

Still remains one of my favourite restaurants of all time. Haven’t been able to go for a while & after reading some recent (not so great) reviews on here I was worried things had changed, but they haven’t- still as good as ever. Yes inflation means they have increased their prices but at £32 a head I think is pretty good value for money. All you can eat, cooked to order fresh off the menu. It doesn’t get much better than that. The food is delicious, fresh, hot, served super fast & great quality. Have been coming here for easy 10 years now & even though I keep moving further away, I always end up travelling far to come here. Came midweek with a friend, we were here for almost 4 hours. We didn’t feel rushed at all, staff are friendly. Already looking forward to my next date night here!

Used this place for 35 years, It’s lost the quality and the food is no good at best. I know it was up for sale maybe Phillip as sold up. If so I now know the reason the food is no good

Really pleased with the meal we ordered. Arrived early and taste good. Thank you as had a bad experience in the past at a different restaurant.

Worst Chinese I've ever had dumplings dry and deffently really old and rank, the dipping sause for them is just malt vinegar with some ginger thrown on top. Duck with fresh mango was like jelly and rated rancid friends chow main was OK apparently
