My family and I went for lunch with our Guide Dog on Friday 16th, however, at the front desk the server said that we would not be allowed into the restaurant with the dog. We pointed out that she was a Guide Dog, so allowed everywhere by law. He continued, refusing us entry, and thus breaking the law. By this point, we were in disbelief at this treatment, so we asked him to please speak to a manager. He told us that the manager wasn’t in, but after we pressed him he agreed to phone the manager. Unfortunately, the manager reiterated that Guide Dogs weren’t allowed in the restaurant - a blatant breach of the 2010 Equality Act as we pointed out. After breaking the law and not offering us the opportunity to make a formal complaint, we had no option but to leave thoroughly disappointed and shocked at the treatment we faced - never have we faced such discrimination and complete lack of accessibility. We have now filed a formal complaint with the Trading Standards Agency and urge anyone with a social conscience to not eat at 1805 again. It is your duty and legal requirement to allow a Guide Dog into your restaurant, and by failing to do so you have made a massive mistake.

I have been going to 1805 for years, really liked the food and atmosphere. Something has changed, the food is not the same or cooked the same. Each dish did not taste fresh and quite tasteless. Food was served less than 2 minutes after ordering so it could not have been made fresh. The staff were very nice and helpful and the staff offered to give us a different dish but unfortauntly it was the same situation, not very fresh and again didn't taste nice. This is a shame as it used to be a really nice place to go. The menu is the same but the food doesn't justify the same menu and prices. Hope it can improve

Expensive but delicious food. Lamb and truffles was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection. Staff functional but welcoming. They accept guests in casual holiday clothes. Close to town, short walk uphill from the beach.

Booked on the day for 8.30pm. We arrived slightly early and were having a drink when the waiter told us the kitchen closed at 9.30pm. We ordered food and sent the prawn dish back as it didn't smell fresh. The rest of the food was underwhelming and expensive. We suspected that all dishes were frozen. Overall poor quality food and not worth the money, certainly won't be returning. I suggest you give it a miss.

This place was recommended. The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome. Best Chinese restaurant we have found in Bournemouth. A little expensive, but well worth it.

Good food though we only had a few starters and one main course between the two of us. Good clean dishes not greasy though the chilli oil wasn’t much but I eat a lot of that. Portions were okay. The waitress kept on egging us to order the mains though we just took our time on the whole it was good. It is a big place clean.

After hearing good things about this restaurant we though we would give it a go. We was very excited as you don’t find many sit in Chinese restaurants. We was expecting an impressive meal after the hype however we was very disappointed. We was seated and the food was brought out like a fast food resultant we was in there a total of 35 minutes that’s with starters and mains. I could have had a better meal from the local Chinese for a quarter of the price. The food came out and was like it had been sitting waiting for us. Cold food bland taste and extremely expensive for what it was. The starters were good however hence the 2*s and not 1. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. When asked how the meal was after leaving half of it we said we wasn’t too happy with it and that it wasn’t very hot and quite bland, we got a response of ‘’oh ok’’. We would have expected someone within the hospitality sector to see what they could do to rectify the situation, no such thing.

Absolute awful experience at 1805 tonight, I’ve been here a few times with my friends and always been pleasantly pleased. However tonight was a different story. Our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering which was a bit concerning, I then took a bite into the chicken satays we ordered to notice we have been served raw chicken so I immediately called the waitress over and she said she was really sorry and she would get a fresh lot send out straight away. 10 minutes later went by.. still no chicken, in the end when we finished all our food she came over and said “did you get the chicken, do you want it” well of course we don’t want it now as we have finished our whole meal. We asked for the bill which of course we expected the chicken to be taken off the bill as we didn’t receive it, they then added an optional service charge which we wasn’t happy to pay so we asked to take it off. The service was absolutely terrible in handling this situation and we was told mistakes happen and that the food was not raw when quite clearly it was otherwise we wouldn’t of sent it back. No discount was applied not even a free drink let alone a sorry from the manager. We had no choice but to pay for the bill and leave very unhappy but we will never be returning here and telling friends & family to avoid at all costs unless you want food poisoning!!

This is the first time we had been to Bournemouth and I was looking forward to going to this restaurant as the menu looked really good. When I tried to book online a confirmation didn’t come through, so I emailed them. I got a call from them and they were so lovely a polite! This made me look forward to the booking even more. On the day we wanted to come a little earlier so I emailed them again and within an hour I got a call back advising I could come earlier, they were nothing but attentive and polite. On arrival the gentleman who I assume is the manager remembered me when I said my name. They did temperature checks, ensured we sanitised our hands etc. All perfect. We ordered the starters and crispy duck, then as always we asked the manager who was serving us what he thinks we should get for mains (we always do this as we feel like they will really tell you the best thing to order to enjoy the experience and it’s always worked well for us!) he recommended some amazing dishes. The smoked chicken was the best smoked chicken I had ever had. The satay chicken on the mains was a whole half chicken with the most amazing crispy skin and satay sauce. Also the dim sum that was recommended was also delicious we had the two with black truffle which were so good!! Even the special fried rice tasted so special! We regularly visit places like hakkasan and Good Earth back in London both amazing Chinese and the food here is as tasty as both of those. So I would highly recommend. The lychee martini was so good. It’s hard to find them in most places, but they’re one of my favourites and this one didn’t disappoint. I read back to reviews saying staff are rude - I honestly cannot believe these reviews we experienced nothing like this and to the point where I can’t even imagine the staff we met acting like that. So ignore these and try it for yourself!

Outstanding Chinese food a very friendly place mixed with food that is fresh flavoursome and just outstanding would recommend. I’ve always said you get what you pay for and here you get exactly that. I’ve eaten all over the world and this place ranks up there with one of the best

Our party of 5 all agreed that the food at 1805 is amazing. All of the dishes were full of flavour and artistically presented, our favourite being the king prawn in wasabi sauce. The décor and ambiance of this restaurant is superb, complimented by 1st class customer service and all at a reasonable cost. Overall an amazing dining experience. Thank you 1805 chefs and staff we will definitely be coming back.

We ate here for the first time because the reviews were so good and our experience was over all a good one. The staff and service was excellent and the food was out of this world, some of the tastiest Chinese food we have ever eaten (and we have eaten in many Chinese restaurants)Our only reservation is that it is slightly overpriced and the dish we were given to eat out of was tiny. That said we will definitely eat here again the next time we are in Bournemouth.

We had a meal here while staying at the Hotel Collingwood across the road. This was a very high standard dinner in lovely modern surroundings. All together a great visit to Bournemouth!

We had visited this restaurant twice previously sitting in, before COVID.We were SOOO looking forward to a birthday treat of take out from here due to COVID keeping restaurants shut. I had always thought this restaurant made all of their own food. Sadly the dimsum starter I had had a very evidently frozen pork dimsum with a large piece of grissle in it. The portions were tiny for the price! The prawns we had were delicious but sadly lacking in quantity. We needed a meal after this meal having ordered a few dishes - while we don't eat large portions normally. We were so disappointed with this experience we won't be returning I'm afraid. For the cost of £55 we expected much better.

We had a tip-off that 1805 had started delivering during lockdown (previously far too smart for that!).. and we’ve never looked back. Such beautifully presented, well cooked, cheerily delivered feasts.. all of the highest quality. Can particularly recommend the Kung Po king prawns, Chicken in Black Bean sauce, Crispy Duck and Special Fried Rice. Enjoy

My husband and I had lunch here today. Easy to book through website. Due to it being lunch time the restaurant was quiet, no problems with service at all, friendly staff, lovely environment and vibe. Food was the best Chinese I have had (I’ve had many). It was quality food perfectly cooked. It was from the very reasonable lunch menu. We would definitely return, although if it was in the evening it would be for a special occasion as the menu looks quite pricey.

OK - portions are a bit small and expensive but I'd rather pay for that than have tons of tasteless samey samey food you get in most other Chinese restaurants. Decor is simple and not fussy but the food was fabulous with some innovative dishes that made this one of the best Chinese restaurants we've ever been to. I've seen other comments about the service being iffy, but no complaints from us.

We visited 1805 this weekend as a family of 6 (. 4 adults 2 teenagers) whilst visiting Bournemouth for the weekend, and had an excellent meal. We all agree that this restaurant is probably the best Chinese we have visited. The restaurant itself is very open and modern, quite different from the usual traditional style of Chinese restaurants. All the tables are round which makes for a really social setting. The staff were very friendly and chatty and the service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing.The food itself was delicious, we couldn’t fault a thing, we all thoroughly enjoyed it.Will definitely be recommending and visiting again when we are in the area.

Simplemente tropecé con el restaurante chino 1805 en nuestra primera noche en Bournemouth y tengo que decir que la comida y el servicio fueron excelentes. La comida tardó en llegar pero valió la pena la espera.

Acabo de comer aquí, no me puedo quejar de la comida, pero el servicio no fue muy bueno en absoluto. Esperamos media hora por nuestras bebidas y mucho más por la comida. Preguntamos tres veces por unas galletas de gambas que finalmente llegaron después de que llegara el entrante. Las galletas de gambas no estaban en el menú, cuando llegó la cuenta, ¡eran 7! ! Nos quejamos y nos quitaron el cargo por servicio y el costo de las galletas de gambas, pero el nivel de servicio que recibimos no es aceptable para los precios que cobran.

Las mesas estaban bien espaciadas y eran cómodas. Cuando miramos el menú, me quedé bastante sorprendido por el precio, sin embargo, por la calidad de la comida, pensé que valía la pena el dinero. Hija dijo que era el mejor pato que había comido. Se encuentra a unos 100 m del centro de Bournemouth, cerca del centro BIC, pero vale la pena rastrearlo al 100%.La comida es absolutamente excelente. El solomillo en frijoles negros es fantástico. Food was excellent but very expensive for the size of portions. Drinks were expensive especially with cocktails being priced at £10.50 to say it is Bournemouth location and not London.

We were welcomed like a prisoner.. Which was OK coz we were hungry.. This place is expensive..{portions are very small.. Trust me I have been around the world. This place is unnecessarily expensive.. People work hard to make money.. I was given cheque without asking.. And specially... The table I was given {it was not cleaned... Shame on being in Bournemouth... Ruining the city and its value

We came down to Bournemouth for the night and booked a table in the nearby bar 1812 and a table in this restaurant for after we had a couple of drinks. We have driven and walked past this restaurant many times previously when visiting Bournemouth and always said we would like to try it. As our favourite restaurant was closed we decided we would at last try this one. We were greeted at the door by Andy and asked to sanitise our hands. We then walked one way around the restaurant and noticed that it was spaced out for social distancing. All Covid safety measures seemed to be in place and we felt safe eating in here. We sat down at our table and our order was taken. We had ordered the mixed platter for four of us. The food turned up looking amazing. Well presented and hot. It tasted as good as it looks. We then had the duck which again turned up beautifully presented and already shredded. The pancakes were also piping hot. We ordered several main dishes (probably too much to be honest) They did not have the dish on the menu that I prefer (Kung Po Chicken) but when I asked them they made it for me, and all the dishes were tasty, well presented and hot. The staff were attentive and made sure that we were comfortable and had all we needed. I have seen reviews stating that it is expensive but I do not think that it was overpriced, especially for the standard of food we received. We will definitely come back to this restaurant in the very near future. The only thing wrong with this restaurant is that it is in Bournemouth and not South East London. We would visit more often if it was on our doorstep as we do not have any restaurants near us that could complete with this one.

Delicious! Excellent and professional staff and very well mapped out 1-way system. First meal out after lockdown and felt so safe! Roast chicken had crispy skin, soup had fresh chunks of real crab. Would recommend.

At the end of day 3 of the latest easing, the confidence of the population and restaurateurs was visibly returning. West Cliff is by no means the hub of evening/night life in Bournemouth but if there is a better Chinese restaurant in the town, I would be very surprised. All the COVID safe measures are in place and implemented with minimal intrusion. The food is absolutely excellent and is beautifully presented but comes, it must be said, at a price. The attractive interior and outstanding food and service are expensive. I would certainly return but many will regard this as a restaurant for special occasions.

This could be a great Chinese restaurant. But it is pricey and the ambiance is not there, a real shame as the food is great. Not sure it is worth the money especially with other options in the area.

The service was impeccable- the food was Devine.This restaurant is a treat. A lovely dining experience. The presentation was very eye catching. Lots of colour and very enjoyable tastes.We was one of two couples, we had a very individual service. Visited on a weekday night and was so impressed with this restaurant. Friendly beyond belief and beautiful surroundings and decor. The food was very tasty and presented in a contemporary way. The lady serving us was very attentive without asking every five minutes ‘is everything ok’. She and her colleagues where in the background if you needed them, rather than being on your shoulder.Would recommend 1805 to anyone and it won’t be our first and last visit. Definitely worth a visit if your in or near Bournemouth

We have driven past this restaurant numerous times but never thought to give it a try until our friends recommended it. We were pleasantly surprised how fabulous the decor and atmosphere are as soon as we walked through the door. The menu is extensive and has an excellent choice of dishes rather than the typical “chicken chow menu” etc. I chose the steamed sea bass with ginger and spring onion. Two large fillets arrived and were simply delicious. The drinks menu is equally as impressive and the service was perfect. We did not feel rushed to leave and spent the evening there at our leisure. We will definite returning.

Second time visit 1805. You can tell from the ingredients, fresh and tasty. Service always good. Ana is so lovely. Had recommended to friends already. Keep it at this level guys!

Impromptu booking at 1805 resulted in a very enjoyable evening, so we will definitely return. Excellent service throughout, delicious, well-presented food served on very hot plates, the highest standards of cleanliness from glasses through to the bathrooms all made for a first rate evening. Loved it!

Excellent dining experience. A warm welcome, food was well presented and top notch. Tina is excellent front of house, although she forgot my water lol. We had a good laugh about it. Service was great, they even accommodated a special requested (bespoke) cocktail that wasn’t on their menu which now should be as it was delicious! Will definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were travelling for business to Bournemouth and been recommend this restaurant by one of our local friends and we are not disappointed. The decor, food, staff, service everything is top London level. We have booked our next visit with 1805 already.

We've been here before and it has been excellent... if pricey. This time it was very, very average. The food was no better than what we would get at our local takeaway! The service not good. And on a saturday night it was dead at 1030. Needs to be better at these prices. Sad.

I decided to take my family for one last treat before returning to work & the festive season ending & had fancied a Chinese for some time.

Taken here by friends and whilst it’s London level prices the decor, service and ambiance is to match. Highly recommended and we will be back.

A lovely restaurant just off the main drag. Food was amazing and service was good. Chinese food of good quality I had chicken and sweet corn soup which was hot and fill of chicken and flavour, followed by fillet beef in black pepper sauce with steamed jasmine rice this was delicious and the portions for lunchtime were just right. To accompany the food we had Chinese tea which was topped up throughout the meal. Well worth a visit or two!

Food was excellent, freshly cooked and served hot, generous good sized portions, would highly recommend.

We had our annual friends Christmas party on Saturday and we couldn't fault a thing the food was exceptional and the service was fantastic. They made such an impression that we will definitely book 1805 next year.

Modern decor with tremendous service. Menu is pretty much standard for a Chinese in the UK but the food tasted superb. Appeared fresh and inviting with good sized portions more than enough for two. Staff were excellent and ensured dishes arrived to suit us. Price is similar to other similar level restaurants in the area. Recommended

Read the reviews and thought yep lets give it a go... so glad we did, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were outstanding olde school proper customer service.... ohhh and the food ..... just unbelievable. Satay chicken.... best ever..,, kung po prawns also just the best ever. Even the noodles were awesome, tasty and dry with no oil.. anyway we will happily drive the 130 miles to Bournemouth just to eat here again. Just absolutely awesome.

Went here tonight for the first time as in here on holiday with my wife must say it’s rather expensive but having said that the food is first class and well worth the price unfortunately we go home Friday so won’t be here again but if you’re visiting Bournemouth I recommend having a meal here

Lovely place, we chose 1805 to celebrate our anniversary. Amazing decoration and atmosphere, set meal C is plenty for 2. Cocktail was amazing too. We had a great evening. Highly recommend!!

This is a good chinese restaurant. The food is very tasty, varied and well presented. The table service was good and we were well advised on how much rice and noodles we needed for our party.

We are staying in Bournemouth and 1805 caught our eye on the way back to our flat. Rally lovely decor! We didn’t book a table and were able to get one without issue and the staff were really attentive throughout the meal.

We booked for a pre theatre meal and were not disappointed. Lovely surroundings, friendly, helpful staff and a delicious meal. Thank you.

You maybe pay a little bit more, but it's so good it's definitely worth it. We were not celebrating anything, just a midweek meal on a short trip, so ordered two main dishes and rice. Best Chineese we've had for a very long time (maybe ever)

I have been to many Chinese restaurants and this was not one of the best. I got the impression that the place is owned by rich Chinese people who have a number of European waiters etc working for them in this eatery. The atmosphere was not special although the staff were pleasant. To top it all it was expensive, much more so than many other places I have enjoyed. Also it did not have draught beer, the only option was to pay extortionate prices for small bottles of beer. Will not go there again when visiting Bournemouth.
