Went here after our usual Chinese takeaway was closed. Nervous to try somewhere different as have been going to our usual for years, so thought we would write a review for others who may be in a similar situation. We had, chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, egg fried rice, spring rolls, chips and curry sauce, prawn toast. It was LOVELY!! - Very good portion sizes. - Very lovely and hot. - Delivered on time. Would defo recommend on those Tuesday eves, when no where else is open (or if you’re looking for a different vibe). Would HIGHLY recommend. May even become MY Chinese!!! (Meaning our new regular!)

It's really great to see 5 food hygiene ratings. This is reflected in the food I got. The service was met with a friendy smile and welcome. She was brilliant and made a lot of difference first impressions. The food was mixed meat special rice. This I feel more Thai than Chinese. Omg it tasted so fresh and light. The meat is, I think, streamed. I don't normally eat Chinese beef or pork, as this is always chewy. The pork melted in my mouth. The beef was very tender to, a little chewy. Pletty of veg with nice rice and kind of gravy. I also had prawn toast, which was very think in topping of prawns. Not greasy a tall. I eat that all st8 away. Free prawn crackers, a nice touch. £15.50. Got value for money.

We came from Oxford for the weekend and ordered food to our hotel. Great service on the phone, delivery driver very nice. Now for the food.... best Chinese myself and my husband have had. The spare ribs fell off the bone and were so tasty. The pancake roll was amazing as were the noodles. Sad that we don't live close enough to have a delivery.

As always order delivered on time, lovely and smiley delivery driver, food piping hot and very tasty with generous portions even though only ordered the regular size rice and chow mein with a chicken curry. Prawn crackers complimentary which was nice. Definately order again :)

Tried for the first time as my usual chinese takeaway is closed. Sorry found my meal disappointing : curry a bit bland and the rice a bit clumpy, chips £3.40 for a pale bag of chips. Over priced probably won't use again.

Large variety of dishes always cooked fresh to order. Always enjoyed their food. Recommend you give it a go.

First time ordering and would not order again. Made a £60 order and only received prawn crackers as a complementary. Extra item charged when we didn’t want it. No apology for the mistake and forced to pay for it. The food was dryer than normal and not much taste. I would suggest trying another takeaway.

Literally just got this delivered and its clear they haven't spent much time on the food. Pretty bland and anything battered just tastes really powdery.. I think you need a new chef or maybe spend a little more on the food if it comes pre-prepared?

Really recommend the barbeque spare ribs,proper like there meant to be with that lovely aniseed twang, Love the whole place never had a bad experience

Our order cost £36 and we couldn’t eat none of it! Beef curry more like fatty meat gravy, rice was terrible all stodgy and clumped together couldn’t even find the egg in it and it certainly wasn’t fried. Chips awful! Spare ribs were just fat on a bone! Prawn toast was soggy you could literally wring it out! My husband said the chicken balls wasn’t too bad but yet he still left over half bearing in mind we were starving! Bottle of coke was the only thing that was okay but of course you didn’t have to cook that! Overall I’m shocked your still trading you need shutting down! Disgusting!! People do not order from here you will be out of pocket and very disappointed!!!

The food was average. There are many better options in the area. They guarantee free prawn crackers and a drink on orders over £35 and they didn’t include either, our order was £40. The delivery driver refused to enter our apartment complex so I had to enter the lift and go outside in the rain to collect my order which took over an hour to arrive. Every other food delivery restaurant will bring the food to my door.

Food not bad but again no free Prawn crackers or Coke as advertised ( spent £60 as well) Not sure what’s happened but used to be really reliable and you could guarantee food would be hot, tasty and good portions of meat !!

Not the best had a lot better taste very dry the chicken balls was yuk the sweet and sour didn't like very nice very dark brown ment to look red not brown.

Trying to find a decent Chinese as all my favourite places seem to have changed hands. This isn't it. Sweet and sour chicken, Hong Kong style was ok, nicely crispy but not that tangy. Special fried rice was good, full of various meats. But the chicken and cashew nut in yellow bean sauce was awful. Very bland and the little flavour it had was dreadful. Chicken had a weird texture. Couldn't eat much of it at all. Sometimes flavours are better the next day ~ it wasn't and went in the bin after one mouthful. Highly unlikely I'll go back and definitely not the yellow bean dishes 🙁

Used to always be able to rely on my to deliver - but tonight’s delivery was 1/2 hr late - meals were really low on meat content and no prawn crackers as s free thank you !! Always recommend this business above all other Chinese as the best by far but felt let down £30 for five dishes for two needs to deliver quality !!

Portion sizes are great and the food tastes amazing definitely good value for money

I have eaten in many Chinese takeaways and I've never come across one with rice so dry, Its either they don't know how to cook rice or the rice was days old. I had 3 rice dishes, so it's not a 1 off dish. The other food was mediocre. I would not be ordering from here again.

Our first time ordering food for delivery. Looking for better quality fresh food as our local chinese went down hill. Food arrived within 45 minutes as stated. Placed phone order and paid with mobile card machine, but can order online. We had the super saver meal for two plus one extra dish. Good price for quantity of food received. All very tasty, lovely fresh ingredients. Not too salty. We will certainly be back for more!

We’re looking for a new takeaway that would deliver to my address. Hunted around on Trip Advisor and found the My Chinese that had very good reviews. Have now used them and both the food and delivery was excellent. I would really recommend this take away and will certainly use it again. Would give it 6 stars if I could. Bill

Haven’t had a Chinese is in quite a while as bad experiences have put me off. Last night had the craving and so went to m.y and it was fab, they have restored my faith :-)

This is the only place to order a Chinese in Bournemouth. Great food, consistent every time you order. Try it!

Had one of those Saturday takeaway cravings. Got some very tasty food from here. Always good non greasy fresh hot food. Good value. Would recommend the Thai green curry and chicken balls. Will order again.

This is our go-to Chinese delivery place. It's not somewhere you sit down to eat, but despite the place looking like it is run down and suggests poor quality the food is excellent for a takeaway chinese.

I used to collect a takeaway most weekends last year and clearly M.Y. Chinese was a busy takeaway,their popularity is due to its excellent food. But I moved and started using Hong Kong Lounge in Bournemouth. Tonight I thought I might get a takeaway from MY Chinese as my best friend was over from London. We had chicken satay which was dry and flavourless. The sweet sour dishes were too sour and chicken balls dripping in grease, need I say more?

I have been ordering from here for 5 years and never once has my food tasted of dog turd (Colin Denby). Sounds like you managed to eat all 9 pieces of chicken before deciding that you didn’t enjoy it!! Maybe you were confuaed with KFC regarding getting chicken legs. Why bother putting such a ridiculous review on here. If you didn’t enjoy the food fair enough, but how do you know what ‘dog turd’ tastes like. Don’t let his review put you off. 5 years of delicious food & polite staff is all I have to say 😃

We ordered 2 portions of salt and pepper chicken. And a salt and pepper chips. I asked the woman how many pieces of chicken you get as most places give you wings or drumsticks. She said 9 pieces. I said to the mrs can you eat 9 pieces of chicken . Yes . Ok. How much I asked. £14 she says. I thought that sounds like a bargain. Long story short it was about half a breast in each cut into tiny crappy bits. The chips were dog turd. I'd rather have a big dump in my hands and clap than go back to this rip off dive. Put your money down the grid instead

If you manage to find this hidden gem of a take away then ALWAYS go for the Super Saver options. YOU get so much for your money it beats every other chinese in the area by miles.I was so confident with the menu, and the owner Eric, the take away menus were introduced to my hotel guests (we did not serve evening meals). It was quite usual for orders of over £100 to be placed in one go by hotel guests clubbing together.Never had one complaint by the guests or the staff who ate the left overs (quite common).Trust in this small but very professional chinese take away. I can not praise it enough.

About time I pulled my finger out to give this place a review-- sorry it's taken so long guys.Firstly so clean with the open plan kitchen , so you can enjoy watching your meal cooked.Top quality ingredients & it's all in the taste--- also they are so helpful if you need a few changes to your food ( I'm always making changes & nothing is ever a problem).I've been eating Eric's food for over 10 years & followed him on from his southbourne takeaway to this one when he moved here a few years ago. Wonderful Chinese takeaway offering fantastic quality, value and very competitive pricing. Homemade starters not cheap readymade articles from cash and carry like many other establishments use. Main courses have generous portions of meat well balanced together with plenty of fresh vegetables. The containers are always jam packed full. My family and I are all really thankful to have this place to order from.

We always order our Chinese from M.Y. and have never had an issue. Ordering over the phone is easy, the delivery is always within half an hour and the price is reasonable. And, of course, the food is great.
