I was genuinely shocked by the poor level of service I received at this establishment. As a solo female walking the full 187 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, I rely on the limited facilities available along the way—not just for comfort, but for safety. I stopped here hoping for a bit of rest and refreshment. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans, along with a coffee that, unfortunately, was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Still, I didn’t complain—until I politely asked if I could charge my phone. Both women behind the counter immediately said no, claiming that phones had previously caused electrical issues by "tripping" the system. I’m sorry, but this simply doesn't add up. I work across the country setting up concessions at major music festivals, and I specialise in power management. This type of business would almost certainly have a 3-phase power supply, likely with a 32-amp capacity at minimum. A mobile phone charger drawing less than 10 watts is not going to trip a properly functioning system—unless there is an underlying fault, in which case, the circuit breaker can be reset safely. Even more concerning, I later read reviews from other customers who were given entirely different excuses when they too asked to charge a device. This inconsistency suggests the refusal is policy or preference, not a genuine issue. Charging a phone costs less than a penny and can be the difference between someone having access to help or not, especially in remote areas. Hospitality is more than just handing over food for money—it’s about providing care and support to those you serve. Sadly, this was lacking here. When I mentioned this at Celtic Camping and later in Fishguard, other local businesses were equally surprised and disappointed to hear about the experience. It was quite clear that the staff were not familiar with the needs of walkers and, frankly, their attitude was dismissive and unkind. They should reflect on the values of true hospitality and consider how small gestures can make a significant difference to someone’s safety and wellbeing.

A member of The Grove Golf Club told me they did an excellent breakfast between 9am and 12 noon. So off I went. I arrived at 11.20 and after being ignored at the bar for five minutes, I initiated a response by saying ā€œ good morningā€. That worked but unfortunately I was told breakfast ends at 11.30. I pointed out the 9 to 12 bit but no…breakfast stops at 11.30, to which I replied ā€œgreat, it’s 11.25, one breakfast pleaseā€? I’ll check…Ok, you just made it… Lucky me! One breakfast please and could I have a different egg because fried eggs make me ill? No…And there’s no mushrooms So I had 2 sausages , 2 bacon, beans, half a tomato and a rounder of thin white toast. What I had was fine but no egg, no mushrooms and no hash brown? A first for me and the price didn’t reduce, neither did they supplement the gaps with any more of what they did have. Their cappuccino was very nice, as were the sausages and bacon…for .Ā£10.95 Their website says ā€œfried egg or poachedā€, and that breakfast is served 9am to 12 noon…take a look yourself But not for me…disappointed…I really wanted to like it!

Very disappointed with the service in the restaurant today. The food is usually very good but the customer service needs addressing. Having ordered a bacon and sausage toasted sandwich only sausage was delivered to my table. I returned the food to the counter and it was taken away without a word of apology and then firstly checked in front of me on the till, (as if disputing what I had ordered), taken back to the kitchen where a slice of bacon was plonked on the top and returned to my table without a word of apology. Someone there needs additional training in Customer service as usually most of the staff are very courteous.

Very friendly pub , friendly staff and nice toilets and it’s clean and well lit. The food was good and hot and tasty the only downside was they seemed to be a bit short staffed which meant it was slow service but the staff were very apologetic and nice so it didn’t go down that badly.

Small menu but enough for what we needed. We all enjoyed it and a couple of vegetarian options for two members of our group. Just a little disappointed that the cafe was closed at around 3pm when we got back from our walk as a nice hot chocolate would have been welcome on a cold , blustery afternoon

The wild cafe is lovely for kids with the music and scenery around etc and tv cwtch to keep them entertained, menu short for Lunch usual basic stuff- nice food tho and huge portions! Jacket potatoes always taste old tho as If they’ve been standing or reheated.. morning staff weren’t keen on offering a breakfast said if was closed but online it said until 10.30 maybe it hadn’t been updated online but the boys behind the bar just seemed like they couldn’t be asked so we left it, a nice woman tried to offer us a alternative but it had already put me off at the fact they couldn’t be asked

I never witnessed such laziness while she run ragged bringing food out we waited an hour 40 mins for whole Barbie stood there she served a family fried while we all was before this woman in the Que ! I’m sorry you really need to take note tut don’t deserve good staff . Food was ok when it arrived poor management lazy staff

The atmosphere was unpleasant with loud, drunk customers, the bar man was inattentive and uninterested in serving us. The beer (Gower Gold) was off and neither female toilets had a usable locks. The landlord didn't seem to care when I spoke to him, no apology. I will not go back and would not recommend it to others, no redeeming qualities.
