The best restaurants serving British food in Carmarthenshire West Wales

Went with family for a Sunday lunch. I was disappointed with the food, which just wasn't that nice. Meat was very overcooked and dry. Personal preference perhaps, but it's an expensive roast and just wasn't done very well. We had a dirty glass with someone else's lipstick on it, and grumpy inattentive service. To be fair, a second server took over half way through our meal and was much more friendly... and dessert was very good - but I was just pretty unimpressed with our time here.

Don’t be put off by the smell of cat spray on the way in!!! I was a bit dubious but the food was good. It looked average when it came out, everything in pots, chips, peas, rice (why?) but good portions. It looked deep fried and a bit over cooked but everyone agreed it all tasted good. Very friendly to dogs and a resident dog and at least a couple of cats. I think the land lady / manager could look stern, but I think she was just checking everything was ok and when I chatted to her she warmed up and was friendly. We will be back!

Best family run chip shop. The home made pies and rissoles are very good. The staff are so friendly. Best counter service you can get. I look forward to leaning on that counter again 🤗🤟

Really disappointed with Sunday lunch. The restaurant was busy but there were plenty of free table. Drinks arrived promptly but then had to queue for 40 minutes to get served at carvery. When we got to counter they had run short of some options and vegetables. Don't know how people in queue behind us felt. What was annoying was the total Indifference of both manager and staff. They didn't seem at all concerned how customers felt. Will not be returning or recommending

Came here years the pricing is now insane £21 2 small chips with toner meet ontop

The meals listed on the Menu and the 'Specials Board' looked promising, but the meals, when they arrived, were very disappointing. Two of us had 'Bacon & Leek Pie' with mixed veg, the latter from what must have been a frozen veg pack. They wrre not 'fresh' veg! The pie itself had 'puff pastry' topping, but very little 'leek and ham' pie underneath. Our guest had a chicken goujons meal, again a disappointment. As she said, 'Definitely over-cooked'! The meals were not cheap! The only + is that the waitress was very polite.

Fine cafe and chippy that's handy for cattle mart and football. Large fish cooked fresh so you will wait chips crispy and plenty of. Toilets are small and floor was either greasy or not mopped properly.

More staff here than customers most evenings,seems to be full of gambling addicts who spend all evening playing fruit machines and smoking outside.

Always a decent ale in Wetherspoons, food excellent value.

I can't believe the level of service we received yesterday evening from the manager (Lisa?) and the guy serving us called Garrin. What an amazing team who went over and above to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and Garrin brought a definite spark to our evening... so much so that we came back today for lunch. So disappointed that the wonderful Garrin wasn't there, but was served by (I think her name is) Lisa who was so lovely once again. We'll be back very soon.

Chips were average. Few nice crispy ones, a lot of greasy mushy ones. Cod bites disgusting. Dry, rubbery grey/brown ‘cod’. Chicken nuggets, slimy and cheap. Very expensive for this standard of food. Absolute waste of money

Freshly prepared fish and chips, piping hot and presented well. Quick and efficient service. We will be back :)

Terrible customer service, waited 10 minutes for a portion of chips and when i did receive them they was just cooked and raw inside absolutely disgusting. Do not recommend this 3 star crap chip shop.

We visited yesterday on our bikes. We were disappointed as only accepting cash and miles from nearest ATM. Take cash with you! I don't know if this is a permanent thing or of they were having temporary issues with card reader machine

We went to McDonald’s for a quick grab of a cheeseburger and chips that they ran out of so they suggested a Big Mac .. this was disgusting , flabby, old lettuce , the whole thing fell apart .. I had to throw it away .. we asked for coffee and it wasn’t until we were back on the road that we discovered it was a warm hot chocolate.. slow service .. never again
