The best restaurants serving British food in South Wales

Came here for Sunday dinner with our dog and honestly I couldn’t fault it beautiful beer garden friendly and extremely pleasant staff the food was absolutely stunning also! I had lamb with the trimmings my partner had the beef and it’s was honestly 10/10 also an amazing price! Highly recommend 👍 we will be back.

Waitress service seems to be discontinued. We get the joy of using the app or queue at the bar with just two people working behind it on a Sunday afternoon. Drinks tainted by cleaning fluid in the drinks line/tap. Food average.

Un pub a un camino de Main Street. Fuera de las mesas, que era una verdadera trampa de sol. Absolutamente increíble domingo carvery. Teníamos todas las carnes, tan tiernas y generosas porciones. Deliciosas verduras, Yorkshire y salsa. Buen espacio interior con mesas de billar si el tiempo era desagradable. Personal amable y trabajó duro para hacernos bienvenidos.

Only did a delivery but looks a lovely place

Basic pub menu with nice daily specials. Food was as expected. Service a bit slow and we had to chase a couple of times. I think there was a big part going on. We thought about finishing with coffees but the only decaf available was instant.

Ordered the gammon and hunters chicken, both were delicious. Amy provided her usual fabulous service, thank you 🙏

Service was great and food was gorgeous as always. I can see other reviewers had an opposite experience but we've never had a bad meal here!

Sunday Lunch with family made room for the 9 of us. great staff friendly and helpful food was good a little disappointed they had run out of a few menu items but made up with extras added and as for puddings to much for myself but the kids and wife enjoyed. Will be back soon.

The staff Marta & Bron were wonderful and very welcoming. The food was so tasty and well presented. The restaurant was comfortable and easy on the eye. We have purchased several favoured pies since our visits but will definitely be back sometime soon and recommended to friends and family.

Was informed that the Sunday dinner was amazing…. however, the food delivered can not possibly what is served in the pub. Frozen peas, carrots etc . Threw it away

First visit for many years and I’m glad we did. The hotel and grounds have been refurbished since the new owners took over 2 years ago and it’s still a welcoming and atmospheric place. Sunday lunch was excellent and there was a warm buzz in the dining room with many people that we chatted to visiting for the first time. The staff were extremely welcoming and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely go back now that we know what a good standard the new owners have set
