Lovely pub! Land ladies are really nice! Good atmosphere, they have live music and they run a cracking open mic night once a month!

People that work there clearly don't share a single brain cell between them and can't understand basic questions. Incredibly rude staff, disgusting chips and obviously tax dodgers as can't use card there.

being a semi regular customer to the farmers arms for many years I have always enjoyed my time spent there. However since being taken over by new management the friendly family atmosphere has changed and it no longer feels welcoming. The food is still good but the service is lacking and the bar staff no longer appear happy and engaging

First of all, the food we had was lovely. It was for Mother’s Day so we had Sunday lunch and the beef and lamb were amazing. However, we were provided one bowl of mixed veg between 4 adults and 1 child. After around 30 minutes, guests arrived at the table behind us and they were offered cauliflower cheese, informing that it was just being made by the chef. I think this isn’t very fair, booking a Mother’s Day meal and spending the money we did, all the food should have been cooked and offered to all, not cooked half way through our meal for guests who had booked 30 minutes later than us. When asked about this, the reply was simply that they’d only just put the cauliflower cheese on and that the delivery was later. Also, on the menu there was a crab bruschetta offered for starter, which again was lovely, but after this was all eaten and we were eating my dessert, a waitress (not her fault) came over to inform that they forgot to add the prices to the menu to inform that if you had the crab bruschetta, it was an extra £4. On the menu, there were set costs of a one course, two and three course meal, with no extra charges stated. When asked about this again, the reply we received was that they forgot to change the menu and add the additional cost and tried to charge us extra even though we had already eaten and were on desserts. I understand mistakes happen, but you’d think for Mother’s Day there would be a bit more organisation and that they would not try to charge for their mistake even though the meals were already eaten. Again the food was lovely, just no organisation, especially for Mother’s Day and a meal that costs a little more, there should have been more organisation. I think there are new owners and I’ve been here a few years ago and it was absolutely amazing, but not so great now. Would not recommend sorry.

Appalling service, went for a wedding anniversary meal, took over 30 minutes from the first plate arriving to the last to arrive, had to ask for veg, which had been sat in a Bain Marie of some sort and re heated as pees we’re dull and shrivelled, and gravy and the extras ordered. Food was mediocre and just warm, ask to speak to the manager who wouldn’t come out to see anyone, all they could do was to remove the extras that arrived once people had finished their food! Obviously don’t care about their customers or reputation at all, avoid with all means.

Was surprised to learn that the hygiene rating was a 2 not surprised by the quality of food I was served tbh, the chips were terrible had a weird taste to them I don’t know if it’s the oil or what but they weren’t very nice I ordered a sausage in batter which in all honesty was grim food from here in last couple of months of gone down hill so much so I won’t be returning an using express takeaway chip shop down the road

Food was awful, hard chips and cold hard pie, expensive for size of meal, child’s portion. Very disappointing, wouldn’t go here again

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish! I originally started off speaking to a lovely lady called Peggy and then also her partner and other family members looking to book our works Christmas party and from the very beginning it was done with ease, they gave us everything we wanted. The room was decorated so pretty, the singer was so good, the staff were all lovely and so accommodating and the buffet was delicious! Thank you so much to everyone at the guest keen for making our night so lovely 🎄❄️

Just called in for a bacon roll and a bacon and sausage roll terrible bacon all fat and under cooked sausage was crisp and burnt definitely reheated never again disgusting food place as gone down hill shame really as it used to do good food I wouldn't recommend it no more

Not a vast menu, but caters for vegetarians and vegans as well, which is always welcome. Food was all freshly cooked and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great cafe. Great atmosphere. I always go for a hearty fry-up for breakfast when I visit. Love chatting with the staff and customers, and having a natter with the boss.

Absolutely awful service, probably the worst service I’ve had anywhere in years. We were asked for our drinks order and drinks came, another party arrived after us, ordered drinks and food order was taken before ours. We had to ask if we could order food as we were never asked and had already waited a long time (there were only 2 tables in the restaurant). Food was terrible. Never had a poor experience food wise here but it was all dreadful. All food was cold, had to ask for more gravy as never came with the food. Asked to see the dessert menu, we were then asked about 10 minutes later if we wanted to see the dessert menu, by the same person. My girlfriend asked if the brownie came out warm and the waitress said that it does - it was stone cold and rock hard. Also asked if the brownie had nuts, she said “I don’t think so.” They then forgot to bring out our desserts and we had to ask again where our food was. Went to the bar to pay for the food and there were at least 4 staff members who completely ignored is even though they were doing nothing. We asked if we could split the bill in 2. A staff member with piercings and short curly hair asked if we could divide it into 2 ourselves because working it out themselves would be way too much work. My girlfriend following this explained that we had received terrible service and wasn’t happy with our experience for whoever needed to be informed to which they replied laughing and said “I’ll let them know.” They then started tapping aggressively and sighing on the tills clearly very annoyed that someone had picked them up on their shocking effort at their job. The whole time we were there, staff were eating biscuits and drinking tea behind the bar in front of patrons, should be very visible on cctv all afternoon. Everyone was all too busy chatting, vaping and doing nothing to make sure service was even close to being acceptable for TWO tables. 1000% will not eat here again.

Great place near the hospital. Nice food, fantastic service. Most recommended.

Typical chain pub restaurant. Rather limited menu. Buttermilk chicken starter was just 3 chicken gujons with no garnish or frills, and was overcooked, but mains were ok although thevsteak looked a bit lost on the plate (see pic). Even with a 30% off promotion I thought the food was over priced for pub grub.
