Delicious Sunday Dinner and great service.

Booked for Sunday lunch ,food was very nice ,lovely service, booking online was easy ,you get to pick a 2hr timeslot ,booked 1.30 to 3.30 ,but disappointed being told at 2.55 by staff that the manager wants us to leave for next customer's ,felt pressured to leave ,bit disappointed.

Always spotlessly clean, plenty of room around seated areas and staff very friendly. Never had a bad meal and great choice and value.

I just love this place. It’s so spacious and inviting but it’s true success is the team. They always great you with a smile and the service is warm. Clearly well run. Luke looked after us, he’s knowledgeable and a good laugh. Food was awesome. We’ll be back soon

We didn't book but managed to get a lunchtime table. It was pretty busy so would recommend booking. Despite that, the service was super friendly and quick. We waited about 30 minutes for food, which for fresh food is totally acceptable.

my wife and i called on sunday for lunch and as usual the service and food was excellent, i had the salmon and my wife had the steak pie and i must say that they were both very nice and the portions were very generous

Lovely service and accommodating waitress. The food was 'ok' in the main however not worth the money on this occasion This was the first time I ordered a roast dinner and based on my experience, I wouldn't again. The food was like warm and had very little flavour. Both the meat and the vegetables were incredibly under seasoned. The pork was really quite tasteless as was the turkey. Not good value for nearing a £20 meal

The service was excellent and we felt very much at home. The menu choice was excellent on both menus. The restaurant was very busy but the courses arrived in good time and we did not feel rushed. Another plus is the good parking

Just had a family get together here this evening for a birthday and found the service and food to be outstanding. There were around 25 of us and it went without a hiccup. The servers were tentative, the options on the menu were great, something for everyone and we were all happy with our meals. Highly recommended and the steak and ale pie is 👌🏻 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christmas day food was lovely service was not the best I've had there told we are closing at 5 which we knee had to ask for the coffee and pre ordered drinks .I know they were busy and it's Christmas working but a smile would go a long way

I was very impressed by the team that was duty 10th Dec 5.30- 8.30.. they were extremely busy it looked like they were short staffed. They went above and beyond. Smiling and friendly even under the pressure. We left some cake from us for their hard work. U wouldn't have guessed by there professionalism that they were so short staffed they handled things brilliantly. 10/10 for everything. And a huge thank you from table 2 booking.

Place is easy to find with ample parking. Lovely warm decor. Especially festive giving the time of year with a gorgeous tree in the entrance. First staff member quick to see to us and very welcoming. Didn't have to wait long at bar to get a drink and again staff member very welcoming and polite. Wait staff very friendly, professional and clearly experienced. Didn't even need to write down our order! Which was right when it arrived, so well done! Good choice of food. Very short wait for food to arrive, for both starters and main. Food was delicious, decent portions and great value for money. Wait staff checked in a couple of times throughout meal, but not too much so that it was disruptive. Bill was quickly served once requested and easily paid for. Will definitely be returning again soon. Thanks everyone!

We were greeted like old friends, shown to our table & offered drinks. Enjoyed the friendly banter with our server - we took advantage of a 30% off mains voucher to treat ourselves to rib eye steaks which were cooked to perfection & served on warm plates (very important as far as I'm concerned!)

Cenamos en Navidad hoy aquí. Como siempre el personal era amable, servicial y educado. La comida de 3 platos era perfecta. Disfruté de todo lo que me pusieron delante. El pudín de Navidad fue el mejor que he comido, y son muchos pudines. Gracias al personal por hacer nuestra tarde tan agradable. x

Simply amazing, great food and service

Came for a roast. Was cold in the middle, potatoes were tough. Asked for a hot meal, the server obliged but offered no apology. Reply to owner - It should not have been cold in the first place. Can you give me a reason as to why it was cold? Ruined the meal. As had to wait for a replacement whilst my daughter had her food waiting.

Really enjoyed our meal at the Mary Dillwyn. My husband and I had the sausage and mash which was on the 2 course menu for £15. It was delicious. For desert we both had the apple and cherry crumble. It was very tasty. The staff were very welcoming. We will definitely return here for another meal.

While the food was not too bad, for a out of town pub the price of a pint was well over priced.

Very nice venue, visited for an after work bite with colleagues. Staff were really welcoming, food was great, nice feel to the venue. Definitely pop in next time I am in Swansea

We held a baby shower here for 8 of us. The staff were all fantastic from the time of booking up until the meal. They allowed us to decorate the area we sat for our meal. The food and service was fantastic. Great value, very tasty, will definitely return and recommend to others.

A special family meal following a funeral. It was important that we received prompt service and good food. We ordered a variety of meals and all meals arrived together. The meals were excellent. The service was excellent and our overall impression was that we were well looked after during what was for us a difficult day. We will be back under more favourable circumstances.

Very nice atmosphere, Very clean premises, lovely and attentive staff, We were told when ordering that anything off the grill may take a little longer because they where busy, But in all honesty we didn't even notice the weight, and when the food arrived it was on point, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. When the bill arrived it was a very reasonable price, iv never had a bad experience at the Mary Dilwyn and I will definitely be back again.

Lost one star due to booking in error - our guests arrived before us and booking reference was removed from computer so we were told booking not recorded and additional table prepared - before staff member recognised that guests had arrived early and he had removed booking from computer - all ended ok!

Good food lovely atmosphere staff really friendly

Usually I cannot fault the food or service, it has always been spot on and I’ve been coming regularly for years, however on 26th October things were not up to usual standard - the food took 45 minutes to be served, we had a small child with us that became very unhappy, some of the food was lukewarm nearly cold, the fish was overcooked and dry, and the chicken tikka masala was dry, hardly any sauce

Staff were very friendly , the place seemed well maintained and very clean . The layout of tables was well thought out , prices of drinks were average I would say , the food was good value for money but the potion size could have been bigger but if you have a starter with the meal then I would say you’d walk away with a full appetite. Play area outside for kids was a good touch if you have young kids is a god sent to keep them entertained.

From the moment my wife and myself arrived at the reatraunt we were greeted and made to feel very welcome from the host. The young lady who took our orders was brilliant she explained in full detail of the meal that we were going to have and just couldn’t do enough for us making sure we were ok and that we were ok for drinks. The food itself was outstanding the trio meats of the Sunday roast was just perfect the meats were so juicy and not too tough. Will be visiting again soon and recommended this restaurant to my family who are planning a surprise party in a couple of months time.

The food was tasty , came with a smile and good service. Felt looked after as we had a mushroom allergy in our party and the chefs advised us on the complications of some of the meals but still plenty to choose from the menu. Decent portions to. Was a little load but it was a Friday night and really busy so that was to be expected.

First time visit with the family on a Sunday and have to say we were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed. A clean, well-decorated and spacious area greets you on entering - tables are not on top of you like some places! We had 3 x Trio Roasts, 1 x Beef Roast and 1 x Hunters Chicken - all well-presented and tasty meals. The red wine gravy was lovely! Desserts could not be ignored with people tucking into apple and cherry crumble with custard or the Chocolate Brownie Sundae! A lovely afternoon where you felt very cosy as you watched the rain run down the windows. Nothing was too much trouble - extra gravy was provided, no problem. We will be visiting again and would highly recommend a visit.

I ordered the hunters chicken which was delicious, and the only criticism was the chicken was slightly overdone.staff and service were excellent, all ready booked in for my sister birthday in February.

First of all, booking a table was easy. We sat in the bar area, which is really nice and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, my steak was cooked to perfection and the beef dripping and merlot sauce was amazing. My partner had the chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. For dessert, we both had the apple and cherry crumble with custard. Couldn't fault any of it . Also, the music was great, Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin amongst others. It's a small thing, but made our experience that much better. Overall, I was very pleased with our trip and look forward to going again.

An overall brilliant experience. We were met at the door as we entered and shown to a table, our drinks order was taken immediately and our food order shortly after. The food was amazing, tasted brilliant and very filling. Hardly any wait time between placing the order and the food arriving. The play area was perfect to entertain our four year old in the short time it took for the food to arrive. We were served by both Rachel and Katie who gave fantastic service.

Very cosy and friendly atmosphere, lovely staff and fantastic food. I can highly reccomend the chicken as its not my fist visit and has never failed to impress, rotisserie cooked and always perfect. Roll on the smmer when myself and the family can enjoy a sunny afternoon in the beer garden while the kids play in the park. Updated 20/09/24 Unfortunately the Rotissery went long ago and it's lost its edge on other local pubs as a result. Staff are still exelent, friendly and helpful. And our food was served quickly and of suitible standard and quality for the price. Drinks were a little expensive for a local pub so could put people off from spending more money.

We arrived at the table on time and bought a drink. We came for a Sunday dinner on my son’s wedding anniversary. No one said you had to order quickly in order to secure your meal. When I went to order and get more drinks they said we were too late now as they sold out of Sunday meals. It completely spoilt our day and celebration. What we had instead was horrible. As a result we won’t be coming back and cancelled Christmas Eve family dinner with you. Still annoyed today.

Average meal, not value for the money despite a 30% voucher off mains. Nice decor inside but badly needs smartening up outside at the side and rear, looks quite rough and badly in need of some paint. Service was ok but the food was not well presented on the plate and the portion size was small. The meal was not piping hot just warm.

We were a large party as it was our choir end of season meal. The staff were very polite and friendly. The food was delicious and came out piping hot and all meals arrived at the same time. My only criticism and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars would be that it was an extremely hot evening and there was no air conditioning. I appreciate these hot days are few and far between but with Global Warming and summers getting hotter it may be something to think about for the future.

The Mary Dillwyn has been consistently excellent since it opened some years ago. At our most recent visit on Friday 30th August, Rachel was getting our drinks sorted for us within 10 seconds of us settling down. First class service, excellent food, and a place where a warm welcome from Luke and the team is always guaranteed. See you soon!

Visited with a group of friends. Good variety of dishes on the menu and a nice lunch time menu of 2 or 3 courses which was a reasonable price. We all had different meals and all enjoyed. Service is excellent. The buildings is clean and tables well spaced. Really enjoyed.
