Had a lovely meal with the family for my mums birthday, staff were fab and very helpful. Foor was beautiful, and good choices. Blue light discount as well which made it even better. Will definitely return soon.

Una vez más la comida era delicioso filete scampi y patatas fritas cocinado a la perfección. Definitivamente viene de nuevo. Una familia favorita para reuniones y cumpleaños. Todavía no nos han decepcionado y venimos al menos uno al mes cada pocas semanas. Gran relación calidad-precio también. Muy recomendable 👌 ambiente me encanta.

Ten Out Of Ten Mar 2025 • family We booked for Mother's Day and had a fantastic Sunday lunch. The staff are always so friendly there. At the end of the meal, for Mother's Day, the landlord provided the mothers with a gift of a homemade desert and icecream. What a lovely gesture. It was a lovely experience, no wonder we go there every week.

Went for Sunday lunch and what a disaster. Only options were beef or chicken, non of it fresh, reheated from frozen. Roast potatoes were deep fried, mash potatoes and mashed swede were tiny portions, peas were light green and the gravy was from a packet. 6 of us ordered and the waitress came out half hour later with one plate at a time, in intervals of 2 minutes a plate (obviously microwaving each dinner). So by the time the sixth plate arrived, the first one was nearly finished. The chicken was so hard and dry it could not be eaten. We told this to the waitress and she said ‘ok, I’ll let him know’, and off she went. We never saw her again, so we left. Safe to say we would never return.

We all had a fabulous meal last Friday. I had chilli with rice and lots of nachos, mum had chicken and mushroom pie, mushy peas with chips and another had gammon, mushy peas with chips. I am so glad to see chilli on the menu as I don't see it on any restaurants menu anymore. I do love chilli. The only disappointment was that they don't sell any decaf products, Kelly explained that it's because it goes to waste as nobody orders it, i do understand that. But where they lose a star is I asked to purchase a glass of hot milk but was told they only have a small amount so cant they sell any, mum shouldn't have caffeine due to medical reasons so we always carry a small amount of decaf coffee with us just incase. I think a trip to the shop next door would have surfised. Kelly the lady that was working there on the day was so warm and friendly a pleasure to chat too. We also had a jam sponge and custard. We really enjoyed everything and would definitely recommend this restaurant. It is a disabled friendly restaurant, has a ramped walkway from the carpark. Everything is on 1 level with a disabled toilet. Although a bit of a squeeze with a wheelchair and a carer in there at the same time. The restaurant has a bar area to one side of the restaurant with a comfy sofa plus table and chairs. The restaurant has the same with the addition of comfortable bench seats. Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the chips are beautiful and so was the tomato soup, owner made it and it was super yummy 😋

Todos tuvimos una comida fabulosa el viernes pasado. Tenía chile con arroz y muchos nachos, mamá tenía pastel de pollo y setas, guisantes con papas fritas y otra tenía gammon, guisantes con papas fritas. Estoy tan contenta de ver chile en el menú, ya que ya no lo veo en ningún menú de restaurantes. Me encanta el chile. La única decepción fue que no venden ningún producto descafeinado. Pedí comprar un vaso de leche caliente, pero me dijeron que solo tienen una pequeña cantidad, así que no puedo vender ninguno. Creo que un viaje a la tienda de al lado habría surfeado. Kelly la señora que estaba trabajando allí en el día era tan cálido y amigo un placer charlar también. También tuvimos una esponja de mermelada y natillas. Realmente disfrutamos de todo y sin duda recomendaría este restaurante. Es un restaurante para minusválidos, tiene una pasarela en rampa desde el aparcamiento. Todo está en 1 nivel con un aseo para discapacitados. Aunque un poco apretado con una silla de ruedas y una carrera allí al mismo tiempo. El restaurante tiene una zona de bar a un lado del restaurante con un cómodo sofá, además de mesa y sillas. El restaurante tiene lo mismo con la adición de cómodos asientos de banco.

I was just up the pub...the meal was absolutely beautiful...and the service...v friendly...I can definitely recommend this place...10 out of 10...!!

I honestly am so very impressed by the food. Compliments to the chef! I pride myself on being a foody and I eat out alot. Its a hidden gem. I had steak cooked to perfection. Which I find rare (no pun intended) in pubs... Also had Scampi and chips. The whole meal was absolutely delicious I will definatley be going again. I can't recommend enough.

This place really surprised me. 10 meals all really good, not one disappointed. The Service was genuinely superb. It was faultless . Nothing too much trouble. It was my mum’s birthday and the warm welcome from staff topped it all. It was recommended to us and the staff go all Out to make it a great experience. Well done. Always a warm welcome at this establishment and that's before you even get to the bar and order your drinks. I have been a few times. Can't beat having a few sneaky pints on Christmas Day and chatting with and getting to know the locals.

Six ladies enjoying a lunch together everything was fine service good considering there was only one member of staff on and it was busy ! Food fine price reasonable but I really do have to mention the toilets which was the only thing that let our visit down Horrible smell dirty mirror filthy if I had used them before our.meal I would have thought twice about staying which is such a shame ,two other ladies had to use them and Im afraid their. Verdict was the same !hope this is rectified as we were hoping to come maybe once a month I’m sorry if this upsets you but there is no point giving a review unless you can. Be honest !

We have returned to The Hen Dderwen after a break of a few years. We were so pleasantly surprised by how good the food is there. The landlord and bar staff are so friendly there and they make a fuss of my elderly mother. She loves it there and considers going there as a real treat. We go there every week as it's a pleasure to go there.

Home cooked Sunday Lunch was a huge hit with kids and grandparents alike. Generous portions and very friendly staff. Will visit again and stay for dessert next time!

It's a very chill bar. The shop is very large and the service staff are excellent. The food is delicious (especially the year of the fried chicken). Anyone who has a chance to pass by Swansea, please stop by.

I'm gonna write this review in Spanish: the atmosphere of the place is great, always very well attended! The food, very rich. Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I highly recommend the veggie burger. It's my favorite, and everyone should try it. The prices are reasonable. And the best of all? Just 5 minutes from my house! Just a week ago, the band Guilty Pleasure played. Unfortunately I couldn't go, but I think it's a beautiful idea. Super well done 👏 ✔️

A fabulous evening spent in the Hen Dderwen. The band Guilty Pleasure were excellent. I don’t very often go out in the evening but thanks to Glen(the proprietor) for making the evening very special. I've never left a review before on anything, but I feel I should warn other people about this place. I had food here on Monday, which was lovely, and so was the lady serving us. The landlord however was absolutely vile, shouting and using foul language towards the staff. It was very embarrassing to witness!! I wasn't the only customer who found his behaviour abhorrent, I would NEVER return and I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone!!

Had a friends birthday lunch here today. Sarah was fantastic and very attentive and the food was amazing. The landlord, Glen also made a big fuss when he knew it was my friends birthday, he even played happy birthday and brought a dessert with a candle to blow out. Will be returning again, thank you.

If I could of given service a 10 I would off we were served by ruby me partner and 2 young kids, ruby ( I hope that’s her name long black hair) was on her own and kept apologising for the wait which tbf we didn’t wait long we were there just over a hour that’s with dessert but she was friendly and approachable there were other people in bar area who were abit rowdy (we expected it as was a Friday night but she kept asking if we were ok and if they were too rowdy honestly all round lovely girl with great customer service, my partner worked in this pub a few years ago and never had that kind of service as we did tonight so thank you x

Visited the Hendderwen today with friends, ordered veg chilli, and fudge cake for dessert, came out piping hot and did not disappoint, fudge cake was insane. Lovely atmosphere , lady who served us was so polite. We will be back

Used to frequent the pub a lot before lockdown. It then was very hit and miss for food. Have recently had two meals with family and friends the most recent on the 10th September. All of our meals were great and the service fast and friendly. Nice to see it’s going in the right direction
