A surprisingly quiet spot for this small but nice pub. Drinks and food were good with such a quiet external atmosphere.

Service excellent, pricing very good, food 1st class. Will return !

My partner and I visited for the first time on the weekend-food was delicious and served quickly! Rugby was on and all over lush afternoon.

Table a little cramped, young waiter did not seem confident. The meal was ok but we did feel it warranted another visit. for the price paid we have had better meals and service.

Went on a Thursday evening for Date Night We had a fantastic meal, wonderful staff, food was delicious, service was quick, we were looked after extremely well We would definitely go again.

The meal was nice. It was hot but I have to say the beef was quite tough. It was nice and warm and staff friendly and helpful.

Having grown up and attending here for numerous family occasions as a child and then in to adult hood - I was left with nothing more than disappointment following my visit with my own family. We visited in the summer - was disappointed then, after this visit safe to say we won't be returning. The place totally lacks any form of atmosphere. The gardens have so much potential, however children's play areas have been removed and replaced with dog chew toys and bowls of water??!! You almost feel out of place dining here with children. How odd. Food was basic - could have cooked this at home. Very odd and uncomfortable dining experience.

My evening was very good down to one aspect specifically, and that was the young man Jed, he was extremely helpful throughout the evening and provide excellent service whenever i needed with a smile on his face, I will be returning and that is down to the great food and the young man Jed.

12 female friends to celebrate birthday lunch! The lasagne was ordered by four of us! We cant all be WRONG!The worse lasagne EVER!! Tasteless..Mince meat covered in white flour sauce! They called it LASAGNE! 🤮 Absolutely tasteless! .Not sure where they found THIS chef! I asked for chips instead of garlic bread! £3.50 for TEN chips!!🙄 The very "young" female staff were very helpful and polite! They are the people who take the FLACK from customers!! Won't be in a hurry to return the the NOT so Welcome Inn

Beautiful place, though absolutely freezing. The young girl who acted as the front of house was awful. Each misheard question was met with a “WHAT?” and she was generally quite rude. The older ladies who took over, however, knew what they were doing and were pleasant. Onto the food. The chicken wings were gorgeous. The burger was a surprise to be sure but a welcome one, homemade but it unfortunately, lacked any seasoning. I will return at some point but will have a different main course.

Would have liked to book a table but tried and tried over the phone, just ringing out and then cuts off, this seems to be the norm at this pub as has happened for days, try and book on line and just says "no tables available at this time" that is various times all day, and they wonder why pubs are closing .

Lunch on Christmas day was a shambles. Canapes were served before we were fully seated. Prosecco wasn't offered initially. The table wasn't laid properly and we were told only one set was provided for the mea!! Food was not as good as I've had before and courses were either served very quickly or we had to wait. A very disappointing experience as I wanted it to be a very special day and it wasn't.

Went for christmas atmosphere felt i was in a busy pub at closing time couldn't get out of there quick enough, food no extra effort service chaos. Went in August and had lovely food and service was excellent so we thought we'd book for xmas lunch, wish i hadn't now and won't be doing it again.

Christmas day was a shambles. No cutlery on the table & was told same cutlery for all courses which horrified me, but were provided with fresh. No serving spoons arrived and we had to ask for salt and pepper.No prosecco on arrival - told we had to order a drink first. Canapes came before we were fully seated.(they were very nice,)Had better food there on weekdays. Felt a bit forgotten about as we were in a small room at the side so very little atmosphere. Had to bring my own cushion as the chairs were so hard.. courses either arrived quickly or we had to wait - very haphazard service but they were nice to us. Wanted it to be very special this year particularly as I'l am not very well but it wasn't. So I was very disappointed and a bit sad so we didn't stay for another drink.

Was there tonight with my team from work, very nice food, the 12oz gammon that I had was amazing. Definitely worth a visit 👍

Last night was the first time me and my husband have been here. The atmosphere was warm and cosy and had a lovely festive feel with the soft Xmas music playing and decorations. The food was amazing, homemade, hot food that hit the spot. Desserts are also very good and generous portion sizes so much so that I couldn't finish dessert which is not like me at all! Can't fault the service either! It was a homely rustic kind of place that is well presented and clean.

The place is a bit of a joke to be honest. I booked a table for 10 for a Tuesday evening, paid the deposit agreed to pre book meals to help out the kitchen. Then 10 minutes later i had a phone call saying that there is a table of 14 were already booked in and the kitchen cant accommodate for 24 people in total. Considering ive used the restaurant before with easily over 40 guests this is just pure lazyness.

Great historic pub. Been here twice in the last two weeks, once for a family do and once for lunch with my partner. Food on both occasions was excellent. There's a good selection of dishes on the menu and portions are generous. They serve a good selection of beers,ales and ciders and their house wines are good and reasonably priced. The staff are very professional and friendly . All in all a great find. Have been back again and can highly recommend the pie of the day. Outstanding quality. It was beef and ale the day I visited and it was one of the best pies I've ever eaten ! And I've eaten my fair share of pies 🥧 😋!

Fabulous little old pub surrounded by fields and a fabulous graveyard . The food is homemade and amazing and the prices were very reasonable.

When you have a party of 16 for dinner and expect a fantastic meal from recommendations. I was personally disappointed from the moment we ordered our drinks. Started with the syrup that had run out on 5 lemonades. The drinks were changed, and as each drink had been repoured, to then hear a thud on the bar after every glass was a bit much for my liking. This then gave me the impression that this was just a bit too much of an inconvenience for that member of staff. We pre ordered all 16 meals to make life easier for restaurants. So when we booked this for a time, you would expect that this would hopefully speed up the service of the food. This then wasn't the case, to wait for over an hour and a half before we saw any food, that was not what I was expecting. Once the food finally arrived at the table, most of the part was disappointed in one way or another with some part of their meal. So, for me to travel over 160 miles to enjoy a family meal that was not up to good standard and to also feel that a member of staff had a bit of an attitude. Was extremely disappointing.

A fab little country pub, lots of parking. Conservatory and outside seating . The staff are friendly, knowledgable about the menu and professional. The menu including veggie options, is fantastic and spoilt for choice. Mouth watering deserts Clean, spacious, fantastic rustic furniture. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Menu uninspiring but we thought adequate until my wife's "curry of the day- balti" was served with tacos and had kidney beans in it! When I mentioned to staff it was very hot for a balti I was told that they are hot. I spoke to Callum (I think) who agreed it was a chilli and not a balti and took it away. He came back shortly with a balti curry looking very sad and not at all well presented. The accompanying naan bread was grey and uncooked. In fairness, Callum did not charge for that meal - which frankly was not appetising enough to eat anyway. My chicken burger was OK but the chips were not very nice with a very large amount of tiny crispy pieces and a small amount of edible chips. I did not raise that part with Callum. All in all a very disappointing visit as we left with my wife not actually having had a meal!

Food was absolutely stunning there was about 8 of us booked to sit outside and changed our mind we got sat inside with no issues everyone’s food was lovely and the staff were super nice making conversation checking on us with big smiles made us feel so welcome. I can’t have dairy or gluten and that was no issue at all they catered to that with ease super efficient will definitely be back new fav !!!

BEWARE if trying to book a table for a special evening here. Don't attempt to do it over the phone. I rang asked for a table for 21-22 which included 6 children. The staff member I spoke to confirmed availability and asked if it was a special occasion. It was for my mother's 102nd birthday with family coming from South Africa as covid had prevented a big celebration for her 100th. I was asked if I was paying the £5 per head deposit the day I rang and I explained I couldn't get there that day but would bring the money before the end of the week. As far as I was concerned everything was in order and I went to the pub yesterday (Thursday so definitely before the weekend) to pay the £80 deposit. When I got there, after some hesitation, they said they had now taken a booking for 12 so were unable to provide our party with a hot meal only a buffet which was completely unacceptable. The girl I had spoken to on the phone said I had not asked for the table to be provisionally booked. As far as I am concerned my saying I was going to bring the required deposit within just a few days logically indicated that I required the table to be booked for me and everyone I have told about this situation is in full agreement and we all say common sense and logic has certainly not been used by the staff. I will never use this venue again and am thankful that the Kingsbridge in Gorseinon who serve excellent food and have an extensive menu have been able to cater for us. If you intend using the Welcome Inn and don't want the issues thrown at me only go there in person and watch what they put in their book. Personally I wouldn't take a chance at all.

We provisionally booked a table for 20 with the caveat we paid a deposit before the end of the week. The deposit was offered on the Thurs but they couldn't accept it and they had subsequently taken another booking for the same date. Avoid, especially if it is for a large or important occation.

This pub is absolutely amazing, we have never been there and had a bad experience or meal. They are so friendly, consistent, and such good service with smiling happy waitresses. We always book just incase they are full, but saying that they have always found a spot for us. Worth the visit.

Had a Sunday lunch carvery. Meat was nicely cooked. Pork belly was juicy. Lovely atmosphere.

Aggressive dog owned by landlady chaced my daughter barking at her she was petrified , confronted landlady she said its OK there my dogs they are friendly! try telling that tona child that's just been chaced she's Still traumatised

Visited early evening on a Wednesday. Reasonably busy but no problem getting a table for two. Tender steaks cooked as requested. Cosy atmosphere sitting by log fire. Meal for 2 with two drinks each £68.

Lovely place been there a few times never had any complaints but last night had cajun chicken which I didn't order asked hunters chicken but didn't want to make a fuss my husband belly pork fab fab but will be back again portions are getting a little smaller

What a great place to eat, staff were very welcoming on arrival and courteous throughout, food was first class not only good portions, but great value for money. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

The girl who served us was miserable. We arrived at 8 and the first she said was "we close at 9". I then went to the bar at 2045, and no, please, or thank you. Not a great experience.

Called for a drink and lunch after walking our dogs .Dogs are welcome in a nice decked area with benches but unfortunately they don't serve food outside in this area.

I would give zero if possible. Never have I left an establishment feeling so upset and deflated. The staff are awful, they won’t go out of their way for you whatsoever. They're ignorant, rude and have zero people skills. They have even removed their Facebook page as it had so many bad reviews.

Lovely food worth the wait. I had crispy beef noodles on the special. Husband had burger which is his go to choice, but when he saw mine he had food envy. We want to go back and try Sunday lunch.

Food wasn’t so bad taste wise but portions were too small. A portion of chips which is actually 8 chips in a little basket isn’t great, gammon was OK but a few people in the party had chicken that was tougher than an old shoe, and a rack of ribs that had the sauce poured on after it was cooked, probably won’t go back which is a shame really. Considering we had pre ordered our food the wait was still quite long (which isn’t a problem) but as there were kids in the party you’d think they would be served first, but we ended up a few in the group had actually finished before others were even served.

nice and clean, plenty of room,good service and a fair price for a quality meal. sunday lunch is very good great selection of beers and wines.

Had an absolutely wonderful afternoon tea here, served at lunchtime too! A huge selection of savouries, pastries and sweet things, beautifully presented. We couldn't eat it all, and had to take home doggie bags. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, and I'll be back.

Buried my mother today [8th September 2022] and had to ensure she had a good wake, not rowdy, but had to know that the food was nice and there was plenty of it. You have to take a chance wherever you go. There was no need to worry at all. It was a great day today, as far as funerals can be. She would have been mortified to think that there had not been enough. There was plenty and she would have been proud. The staff were wonderful and I'm just glad we chose The Welcome Inn and thank them all for the send off we were able to give my mother. Thank you from the Durke family
