Lovely food, friendly staff. Clean & comfortable. Really nice clean toilets & they smell fabulous

We had absolutely appalling service from some of the rudest people I've ever come across. I ordered & paid for 3 meals only 2 arrived. When I complained the manager surpassed the servers in ignorance. It seems my meal didn't turn up because, there are 2 chefs, it's a carvery and not a restaurant, and there were other people on my table that paid separate bills?? So this meant my meal didn't turn up until every one else had finished and it was my fault? ..... oh one of the servers turned up with an extra meal, and shouted at us because of their mistake! I ate a small amount of my meal, but was so embarrassed to be eating when every one else had finished so I stopped eating. The manager doesn't actually speak English, but the gist of what he was saying is his manager said hard lines, no refund - tough luck. This is the worse place to eat, the food is mediocre at best and the service was appalling. The manager is an arrogant moron! We had a different server given to us at the end, she was fantastic, she was the only saving grace of a pit of a carvery ..... because its not a restaurant, the manager told us its not a restaurant. DO NOT EAT HERE, they ruined my mother's 90th birthday meal. **Edit, look at the managers note. If you pay for 3 meals on one bill they cannot guarantee the meals will arrive at the same time. Please read the managers note it shows how little coopers care

Beautiful well cooked meat and very friendly staff

Where was the meat? Place was nice inside - clean and spacious. And staff were great - friendly and helpful. Veg good too but where was the meat? In all our years of eating in carveries this was by far the stingiest serving. Two VERY small slices of beef and cut so thin you could practically see through them. From what my husband had and what I could see from other people being served, this was a standard helping. Very disappointing and spoilt what otherwise would have been a lovely meal.

Love eating here. Staff are always really friendly and helpful, carvery is really fresh and tasty and really nice atmosphere. My favourite carvery of choice and so easy to bring my disabled mum here as parking and access is really easy.

Having eaten at many restaurants and carveries, decided to give this place a try, initially because everywhere was booked. This place did not disappoint. Seriously tasty food and generous portions. The mashed potato was the best I've tasted and the toasties were superb. The service was fast and the food hot. In addition, food can be ordered via an app at the table. I will be back there again - for sure!

Barely any meat regular carvery £12.50 person disgusting price and was very bland not worth it wouldn’t recommend going here and considering it was mother day everything should have perfect but really wasn’t

Couldn’t be more delighted with the service received on our visit to the Coopers carvery. We were there as a large group to celebrate a belated Mother’s Day and I have to say Jake the manager went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Highly recommend! What an amazing place! We haven't been here before, and we will definitely come back here from Swansea. The food was absolutely fantastic, welcoming place and very tidy. Came in for lunch and was served and looked after by the duty manager Jake had the pie deal as didnt know until Jake mentioned and worth every penny I'll be back soon.

What amazing time we had. We loved the food and the barman Jayke was do welcoming and had us in stitches with his jokes! Certainly recommend.

Went to coopers today for a quick spot of lunch, We was greeted as we arrived felt very welcomingly, Served by Charlotte. We was served the cavery by the chef Nemo who was very polite as he served the food and the food was cooked and presented very nicely. Overall Lovely Experience would definitely recommend.

Good food and good service prices reasonable

Staff were warm and welcoming as we came through the door, décor is nice and refreshing. We were originally looking to have a carvery meal but then looked at the menu as we had a fussy eater with us. The carvery was well presented with a selection of three meats and fresh vegetables plus nice sized Yorkshire puddings. Our fussy eater didn't like what was on the main menu but did like the look of the Hot Dog they did on Burger Night. We ask the manager (Mark ) if it was possible to order this and he was very accommodating. The food arrived and all look well presentable, we were ask if there was anything else we required. We were asked the obligatory question 5 minutes into the meal "Is everything ok ?". Once we had finished lunch we sat and talked and the member of staff asked if it was ok for them to remove the plates and did we need anything else such as dessert, coffee or even more drinks. I thought this was a nice touch as it was getting busier and I have been in some places where you have to clean the table yourself just to sit down. All in all a very nice warm welcoming pub who seem to take pleasure on the little things as well as the main job.

The service and staff were fantastic. We took our family plus two young autistic children. Jake in particular was outstanding. Nothing was a problem and he gave us a really nice quiet section to sit. Food was great.

If I could give a 0 I would. Awful place after booking a table arrived to an empty restaurant nobody to greet us then there was no coke on tap only cans! The member of staff then made us move to a table that was awful to then seat a walk in couple in the seats we were in awful avoid at all costs!

We had a great carvery lunch here yesterday. The food was delicious, generous portions, a good variety of fresh vegetables and a massive Yorkshire pudding. The service was excellent. Our server, Sian, was welcoming, courteous, attentive, despite being very busy, and well informed. Extremely good value for money.

Have no idea what has happened to the Sunday Menu. I have 2 boys that do not like cheese. Have no idea what was served but did not look appealing. The carrots were the only option , toasties had been under the light a while they were rock hard. I've given 2 stars for the gravy and the beef. The rest. Wow. Can't say staff were friendly either. Not sure if Coopers has changed hands but probably choose somewhere else next time.

Decent venue , quite simply the worst carvery I've ever paid money for , school meal quality

Came here today. Friendly staff! Unfortunately the roast dinner was absolutely bland, had to chuck a load of salt and pepper on as there clearly wasn't any seasoning on anything it appeared, carrots were just mush, mash was bland like it came from a packet mix, stuffing bland, cauliflower cheese was abysmal the only saving grace was the roasters which were clearly made yesterday. Won't come here again.

Really lovely experience at Coopers Carvery. The food was top-notch, beer selection was excellent and service was great. I really enjoyed the Mac n' Cheese I ordered...absolutely delish. My partner enjoyed the Hunters Chicken. Will definitely be back on my next visit to the area.

Had Sunday lunch today I am sorry to say it was awful, sprouts watery, peas hard, carrots disintergrated, cauliflower in sauce cold, roast potatoes full of oil and the parsnips, yourkshire pudding rubbery and stuffing hard as rock, the meat was nice but not enough and the gravy very bland, they used to do lovely dinners, very disappointed won't be returning 😞😞

Visited Coopers last week with a friend. We ordered the Hunters Chicken and the steak and ale pie and both were delicious. Staff were very attentive, particularly the manager Mark. The price was also very reasonable. We would both recommend and return.

First visit and definately not the last. We took our daughter son in law andcgrandchildren for a special meal, one of our grandsons has severe autism which the staff recognised imediately, they placed us on a quiet table away from the croud and was very attentive. There was nothing they wouldn't do to help and even when my grandson became overwhelmed they allowed him to go into a quiet corner and kept the space clear for us. As for the food and drink it was all perfect and although it was a carvery the food was hot and extremely tasty. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff at Culverhouse Cross, they were absolutely amazing. Thank you

Visited on Christmas Day and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. Restaurant was well decorated with Christmas decorations and looked as though a lot of effort had been made. Food was excellent overall and was very prompt. The staff were very attentive and made every effort to ensure we had a great Christmas. The manager Mark was very welcoming and ensured that all the customers including myself and my family had a very special day. Would highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again.

I have been going here for a number of years now but over the past 6 weeks they have really taken it the service, atmosphere and food up to another level! The staff are kind and friendly and the manager couldn't be any more helpful. A must visit!

Asked for steak med/rare came well done onion rings burnt to a crisp peas dried out second meal late comming out and when asked was told it will be there shortly only for them to find it had been sitting in the kitchen for ten minutes and when presented was dried out shall not be going back there .

Do not Try to contact this Carvery , booked Christmas lunch they keep telling me their phones are down ! ! ! - called for 5 days straight & left multiple voice messages asking to return my call I wanted to pay the outstanding ballance...

Group of six of us went for my sister's birthday - fantastic service, food was overall very good came on time and hot, very speedy and polite staff (particularly Charlotte I think her name was, who made every effort to keep us satisfied). Overall, we will be coming back soon.

I’ve been eating in coopers most Sundays for the last 17 years as I don’t eat veg so I enjoy the potato’s and roasted potatoes. However the portions of meat has declined yesterday I had to take meat off my plate to put on my child’s plate as he was given a very small slice not even a slice also I’m not sure what you have done to your carrots you used to sell nice sliced carriers yesterday it was lumps with black stuff over them wasn’t nice on the eye and the children then say no we do now try other places where you get twice the meat coopers give you

This place has rapidly gone down hill, half the carvery was undercooked, meat was bafflingly dry, I made a reservation to make sure my accessibility was OK, and yet it was a free for all on seating, I don't understand how it can go downhill so fast. There are too many nice places to eat in Cardiff to have to put up with such a bad experience.

We were visiting the area and looked on Google for somewhere to have Sunday Lunch. The thought of a carvery appealed to us. I booked a table online, during our journey. We were greeted and seated very quickly. We noticed some people arriving without a booking who were having to wait, so booking in advance was worthwhile. We all had the carvery, which had a good selection of meats and massive Yorkshire puddings! There were several vegetables to chose from. Some larger bits of the cauliflower were too hard to eat, and the carrots were on the hard side, but the rest was fine. We were given a charger plate with our plates, even though the plates were cold. The staff were all helpful and we enjoyed our meal.

Reasonably priced, great service.

I used to think this place was a nicer carvery that Toby's carvery, but not any more. I booked a table today; a Sunday at 17.30. We waited to be seated for about 2 mins and observed two waitresses walk past or look up at us before we were seen. We were then escorted to a table where there was no table setting (knifes/forks/napkins), and she mumbled something we didn't catch. We knew we wanted to partake in the carvery. After looking through the menu and waiting on a server/waitress, we decoded to scan the QR cide on the table to order. Bit we were unable to select a regular sunday carvery to order. We waited longer, expecting a waitress to take our food and drink order. But still nothing. The servers/waitresses only seemed interested in clearing plates and wiping tables and gave no eye contact for us to get their attention. After a while, we ordered drinks from the bar and were able to place our food order there. We had a bayside larger and a Berry and cherries old mout, which was from a tap. For food, we ordered 2 regular Sunday carveries and wanted to order 2 sides of pigs in blankets, but they were unavailable at 17.30 on a sunday(!) That's an early evening dinner and not available. We then queued up for the carvery and handed our ticket for the carvery over to the female carver, who snatched it from us and said, "What do you want?" We had beef and I the gammon. There was also turkey to choose from. We were then each offered stuffing and a Yorkshire pud, which we partook in. The vegetables to choose from were roast potatoes, carrots, peas, sprouts, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, and mash. There was a sign saying parsnips, but there wasn't any, we asked one of the kitchen staff, and was just told "no!" On returning to our table, there was still no table wear. Nearby was a till with knives, forks, and napkins, so we helped ourselves. Im not sure what the point of the waitresses were. They might have well have got one of those tray trolleys, and we could have tidied our tray away after us as well. We did everything else ourselves. The beef was dry and lacking flavour, and you could spit through the 2 slices given. The gammon and potatoes were nice, the cauliflower cheese was OK, it needed longer to brown off the cheese, or cheese was needed as it was just cauliflower and sauce The carotts were 'rustic', not peeled, and cut into chunks. The Yorkshire puddings were nice. The stuffing was overcooked, I think, as it was hard on the top/edges. The Berry and Cherries Old Mout was partly flavourless and partly tasting of mouldy water, I suspected the pipes to the tap needed cleaning/ changing. Overall, this cost us £33! We ate all the food as hadn't eaten all day, but I left the mouldy Old Mout. Needless to say, we won't be returning. What a shame this place used to be good.

me and my husband met up with my 6 sisters for lunch ....we all enjoyed the food and the staff were great plus wheelchair access was good....we would definitely meet up there again and recommend to family and friends ... thank you all
