Fino Lounge in Cardiff

Me and my friends go here all the time and it is honestly incredible. Great staff/service, always happy to help and make room where needed, great atmosphere and great food. If you’re looking for a food/drinks place that’s always a good time, then Fino is the perfect choice.

Fabulous eatery, recommended by a work colleague. The food was great, and the service, the only reason for 4 stars for service is that we waited a longer time for a salad before we could all eat together. 4 stars for food because there is a LOT of smoked items on the menu which for me personally limited my choices because I cannot eat anything smoked.

An ideal spot for a coffee or drinks or a casual meal. It was surprisingly busy on a Monday lunchtime, but service was quick and our Tapas was delicious.

Dark and dingy but in a great location in Whitchurch opposite the co-up. Boring menu, always full of kids and families / fine if you want that but not if on own or want a quiet lunch etc

Quería un buen lugar para almorzar y este lugar estaba en nuestro camino de regreso al aparcamiento. Llegamos por casualidad y sin necesidad de preguntar si lo hacían sin gluten, un menú completo ya estaba sobre la mesa. ¡Qué agradable sorpresa! El menú estaba absolutamente lleno de comida deliciosa y el pedido era genial, todo fue comprobado y aclarado. La comida estaba deliciosa y salió con pegatinas de alérgenos y banderas rojas. Tan agradable sorpresa encontrar un lugar que nos atienda a ese nivel. Bonito ambiente relajado e incluso admite perros! Gracias y volveremos!

Un lugar muy agradable para conocer y hacer algo de trabajo también. Tuve problemas iniciales para entrar en el wifi, mi culpa, pero cuando pregunté uno de los miembros del personal se acercó para ayudarme. Gran servicio, muy recomendable.

Pros: I am a regular here on account of their varied menu, which feels like it has plenty of healthier options, and always taste great. The coffee is great too! Decor and ambience is very relaxed and chilled, with a dog-friendly policy that also makes it feel welcoming overall. Cons: Some of their cold soft drinks feel a little pricey, and very infrequently the tables can feel a bit ‘tacky/sticky’ as if they need a good scrub all over between sittings. Sweet potato fries taste great but are always very soft instead of having a nice crisp outer shell.

Very well appointed bar with nice interior decor. Approachable staff. Prices are fairly reasonable. Good selection of spirits and hot drinks. Decent looking menu but didn't try any food. menu appears well priced.

Gluten free, dog friendly, vegan options, beautiful meat dishes, fantastic decor and atmosphere. What more could you want? Honestly a hidden gem. Even gluten free beer. We had 9 tapas dishes, every one was divine. Best meal I've had in ages. I can only imagine what it's like to eat here in the summer. Me and my partners new favourite place. Perfect 👌

Nice beers and always busy , it's not the easiest to find a seat as quite busy and can be a little expensive , but worth a visit.

Buzzing on Sunday morning, still quick efficient service

¡Fui a la fina el sábado más ocupado de la historia! Tenía el servicio más increíble, no podía hacer lo suficiente por nosotros. Él nos hizo sentir tan bienvenidos, ¡qué crédito a la multa! Su nombre era Savino (puede haber escrito mal). Además, todo el equipo también fue genial.

Love this place! The menu offers a great variety of dishes, including breakfast, mains, tapas, and desserts, catering to all tastes. They also have an impressive selection of gluten-free and vegan options. The seating and service have always been quick, and the food has consistently been of great quality on every visit. It’s easily one of my favourite spots in Cardiff! *photos of the Buddha bowl*

The staff are very friendly and welcoming which is always a good sign. The choice of food on the menu is broad and ought to cater for most tastes including vegetarian, vegan and gluten intolerant options; the choices of alcoholic beverages is mostly unfortunately limited to ‘lager’ based ales albeit some of the slightly more tasteful European types; no doubt this reflects the general age groups the establishment is encouraging to visit. Five of us had dinner in the early evening; three adults and two teenagers as there was plenty of option on the menu for younger preferences. The internal deco is themed with old style industrial lighting and more homely lampshades in another section making for an interesting mix of styles. It was a midweek visit and the place was busy making for a noisy environment; however the music was not too loud it was simply the sound of conversation in an environment that reflected sound off the walls; that said many popular establishments have similar problems; people seem to think of noise as somehow atmospheric. A simple solution noise pollution is to possibly have some soft furnishing on or near the walls or ceiling or if considered a fire hazard there are some other options available that ought not to be too costly; this would greatly improve the ambiance for those people such as grandparents taking their grandchildren out for an evening meal. The table service was a bit haphazard as there were some untimely waits for some dishes to arrive whilst others came along quickly. The Fino Lounge however, is well worth a visit.

Great decor, allowed dogs, would have liked poached eggs to be more runny. However, good size meals and friendly team. Happy with breakfast !

Delicious burgers and friendly staff

Good tapas lunch. We had a long wait after ordering, then it all came at once. Our personal preference would have been for dishes to be served as ready. One item we wanted (cauliflower) was not available which left little choice of veg dishes but we were able to order a salad as one dish, which was great. Plenty of gluten free choices. Relaxed atmosphere attracting young families and dog walkers creating homely feel.

It was very busy and had not booked a table, Was asked to wait 10 minutes for a table for 5 and he was spot on we had table within the time, The food, Service and staff were very great will definitely be going back.

Poor service this afternoon. We ended up leaving before we got to order any food or drinks purely based on poor service. We were taken upstairs and told to choose any unoccupied table. We had a young baby- the lady that took us upstairs commented on having a high chair, however did not offer us one!) We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order to then realise it was not in fact table service. Poor communication and service. Very disappointing!

Decorated with nanna's mirrors and lampshades. Glasses smelly, tables greasy no alcohol content on menus online or paper version.

Called today (15/9/24) for breakfast had a short wait for table, not bothering because we have been before and know how popular the place is. Shown to our table and then ordered at the bar area, asked for two large breakfast and tea and coffee. When our order arrived it was two regular size's we explain to the server that we had ordered the large breakfast, before we could explain she just walked off with the breakfasts. She then returned saying this is what we ordered we said we'd querie this later as we just wanted to eat. Another waitress then came over and explain that somehow our order went through as a regular instead of two large. She offered to change it but we couldn't be bothered to wait any further. Truthfully it wasn't some much the mistake in the order it was the attitude of the person who served us. Unfortunately this has put us off returned for food in the near future.

I'm slightly disappointed if I'm honest. We have visited several times in the past and have enjoyed the experience. But I think the food quality/quantity is not as good as it once was. A £10 fish finger sandwich had just two fish fingers, a small single leaf of lettuce, and a smear of hollandaise. Skin on fries costs extra. The front doors were opened, allowing cold air into the restaurant, not nice for those near the door. A customer asked for the doors to be closed. Bizarrely, a staff member closed the doors but then soon after opened the whole front section of the glass bi-fold windows! It was freezing, and we and others left soon after.

Love the atmosphere the food dogs allowed and so cosy, staff was very friendly.

Like all their venues, akin to Cotton Club and Drago lounge. An excellent menu at reasonable prices. A comfortable atmosphere for all. A great all day breakfast with a list of other options that they've just got spot on. Really enjoyed my visit there and I regret not going sooner!

Had some of the Tapas for Tapas Tuesday (which I also really like that you can switch out the wine for a soft drink) - food was great with lots of flavour and came out in a timely manner, plus the gentleman who served us at the bar was very friendly.

Food is excellent, although portion sizes are shrinking as with all foodstuffs in our economy nowadays.

Lovely place to eat, great menu and is dog friendly downstairs.

Pedí una pinta de su cerveza pálida y los codiciosos propietarios me cobraron £ 6. 15 . Ciudad esto no es y yo tampoco pagaría ese precio en la ciudad. Si lo hubiera sabido de antemano, no habría pedido la bebida, pero confiaba en que no me estafarían. Mi esposa pidió una bebida sin alcohol y que también llegó a más de £ 6 la bebida. El costo de vida es lo suficientemente alto y esta será la última vez que visite el salón Fino. Fino, en serio necesitas mirar tus precios ya que estás ESTAFANDO A TUS CLIENTES (ex cliente ahora)! Adiós Fino.

Wednesday evening. Busy but a table was available. We ordered via the website (QR code on the table) which means you can see out of stock items and that drinks are brought to your table. Good food and service as usual. Find the Secret DJ app to choose the music played in the restaurant (applies to all Lounges venues) Don't take table 12 next to the bar on a Saturday evening if you want a conversation.

I do enjoy the food here and the service is great. You can also bring dogs in the downstairs area. The service here is great and it is always busy when I visit. There are a couple of small outside tables for when it's sunny. The downsides are it isn't cheap (although not expensive) and the tables outside could do with being a bit more sturdy so if you knock them you dont accidentally spill our drink.

Lovely place, really great food & loved the rum cocktails. It was Monday, so great deals on desserts & drinks with a burger. I had the cowboy burger and it was great . Good fun quiz too..didnt win but hey, you cant have everything

We come here regularly and the food is always delicious and the service is fast! We always know that we are guaranteed a good experience! Some of the lounges can be a hit and miss but Fino always delivers. Keep it up!

Decepcionado. Entré sentada e hice nuestra orden - todo bien. Pedí nuestra comida y el pedido estaba equivocado - los socios de comida trajo con frijoles (dijo que unas 6 veces no frijoles! ) y el mío no vino con los huevos escalfados que pedí. Aparentemente no estaban en la cuenta, así que una vez que la comida había llegado - vinieron y me cobraron por los huevos (bien, pero para cuando habían llegado, ya había terminado, así que solo comí dos huevos). Me sentí presionado a pagar por los huevos y si hubiera sabido que no los habíamos pagado ya, habría sido como olvidarlo: decepcionado es una exageración. Pobre lugar en completo caos

Lovely friendly place and very accommodating and helpful with children. We visited with our grandchildren. The youngest being 18months old. Staff were very friendly and food was served quickly and freshly prepared. Vegetarian menu also available so my daughter and son in law were very happy.

Great local place and I had 2 poached eggs on a muffin with streaky bacon. It was very tasty. I had a great business lunch meeting in a great atmosphere. I'd recommend. Rach Inch Go Body Contouring

This looks nice inside - more suited to an evening visit, perhaps. The staff appeared overworked, though.

Friendly helpful staff, exciting choice of food especially tapas,. hamburger, however is a bit of a dry side. Ambience is great, though quiz night is on Weds held on the first floor. Would have preferred to be downstairs but all tables were taken, they don't take advanced bookings. Relaxed informal vibe.

I've been here a few times now and it's a lovely place to meet friends. Food is always great and staff are always friendly and helpful. Wait times can be longer as it can get very busy but that is to be expected.

Food was good, the place is obviously popular, it was so busy, the app wasn't working when we first got there so ordering at the bar was manic and it was very loud with the amount of people. But can't complain about the food.

Often come to fino lounge for food and drink, always have a good meal. The service is always quick and staff are friendly. Food is always delicious and served hot. I've been with a friend that has a nut allergy and another that is celiac, both were impressed with the amount they could have to eat.

I have very mixed views about this place. Firstly to sit there for twenty minutes not being asked for our order. When challenged we were told to order online or at the bar. Grrrrr. Online needed lots of finger tapping data entry Grrrr. Then of course I had to go to the bar to request that one of the ingredients on my partner's food was removed, making the bar maid run upstairs. They call this progress? Eating out should be the total experience including the staff ambience, chat, food and drink. Up to now it was soul less. COVID protection my butt. Chicken wings were breaded and dry. 3 stars. Lamb shawarma was excellent five stars. Having a table just 40 centimetres from the adjacent one;nil stars. My partner knocked over their salt and pepper not once but three times . And nearly set herself alight on the REAL candles , lit and not in glass holders. Dangerous IMHO. Like I said , mixed reviews . But it was full at 1930. Others appeared to like it more.

Another great evening at the Fino. We have visited the Fino many times over the past 2 years and have always been made to feel welcome. The food is lovely, cocktails are spot on and staff are always professional and friendly. Partucular shout out to Lucas for running such a great place and always ensuring the Fino has a lovely, chilled vibe. He also makes the best mojitos!We have particularly enjoyed his quiz nights which are really popular.

Called in first thing this morning for breakfast. My daughter had a sausage breakfast muffin with hash browns which she enjoyed. I ordered scrambled egg on brown toast with a side of baked beans. Took a little while to arrive which was a bit surprising as there were the second customers to order food. When the food arrived the toast was cold, the scrambled egg was cold and the beans were cold. In fairness to the staff they did offer to replace the meal but they took so long with the food in the first place that by the time a replacement would have arrived my daughter would have long finished her breakfast. No criticism of the bar staff but there had clearly been a delay between the food being cooked and reaching the table - goodness knows what it's like when things get busy at the Fino Lounge. Poor.

Nice breakfast - didn’t need to book and good quality meal. I would say the service of the drinks is quite poor I had completely finished my drink before my partners showed up. Would go again for brekkie

Lovely atmosphere upstairs all candles, great food and service. Forgot to take pics of the food lol, next time I'll remember. We had a bottle of sharaz, very nice indeed. Orzo milkshake and a pot of tea, which we had to ask for more water as only half-full, even then it wasn't full to the top lol

Great food & friendly service. You even turned the music off for me when I asked for the music to be turned down a bit, as couldn't talk to my friend over the music... so thank you 🥰 it made our dining more comfortable.

Went for lunch with my family. Have been before and have always had good food and service. Did not disappoint this time. The restaurant was very busy but had a nice atmosphere and not too noisy. Service was friendly and efficient and hats off to the staff for doing an excellent job in difficult circumstances. We asked for coffee and hot chocolate. The former was luke warm and the latter cold. We did send it back and received piping hot drinks in a short while. Not sure what happened the first time around. Ordered a few dishes to share the quesadilla, mozzarella aranchini and meatballs were excellent. Bombay spiced chicken wings,salt and pepper Squid were good. Wouldn't order the whipped Feta and garlic flat bread again. My son had the Shakshuka and liked it. Chicken souvalaki flatbread was a disappointment. There are some good recepies for souvalki on you tube. Overall a very nice afternoon and will visit again. Would have given 4.25 for food if that was possible.

We first visited in 2016 , and now we visit at least once a week for drinks and food and it’s by far and away our favourite place in Whitchurch. All the food we have tried is delicious - good size portions and great service. All the staff are very personable and welcoming even thought they are all incredibly busy they still have time to chat. We .Iove the fact that we can take the dog in as well. Our only gripe is not being able to reserve a table….is this something you are considering for the future?
