Was informed that the Sunday dinner was amazing…. however, the food delivered can not possibly what is served in the pub. Frozen peas, carrots etc . Threw it away

Best Sunday roast carvery in bridgend

What a waste of money had better food in hospital, raw vegetables bits of the head of cabbage the meat was very bland. Yorkshire puddings were soft and soggy you could tell they were cheap frozen ones. Poor presentation salt packets damp, walls damp in the dining and you could smell it right through, £2 for a can of Diet Pepsi. The person doing the carvery was rude to my wife and rather insulting, Poor service not even checked on just chucked in a back room then when we went to pay the staff were more interested in watching football than asking how it was and £14 per person no where near worth it people who say they enjoy it must have an uneducated pallet

Love it here and often go on Sundays for a sit in cooked dinner, bloody lovely never any issues. Ordered a takeaway dinner today, shocking!! £42 for peas, cabbage and carrots! We wanted 3 adult dinners and received 2 with the amount we had. with no Yorkshire puddings or roast potatoes. Absolutely gutted.

Absolutely stunning food here, the carvery is definitely a winner for me and they are very giving for their meats, unlike Toby carvery. Highly recommend this Sunday lunch.

I can honestly say this is the best carvery I've ever had, loads of meat, everything homemade, thick gravy. What more can you ask for? Service was quick and friendly, and the guy who ran the pub came over and had a chat with us, which made us feel even more welcome.

Wednesday is carvery day and was beautiful a lot better than the margam deer in Port Talbot and the malteaser cheese cake with ice cream was lovely.

What a shambles. I used to love this place but on visiting today was extremely disappointed. Not only were we made to wait outside in the rain even though we had booked a table, when we finally got in, the food was extremely bland, the eating area, tired & depressing & the service was poor to say the least. Another great pub has gone….. won’t be heading here again

Honestly this may be the worst dining experience I’ve ever had the displeasure of experiencing. There are the least inclusive restaurant I have been to. I don’t view my self a selective eater however the food there was not only old(my opinion) it was also poor tasting the meat was unseasoned and dry and the chips absorbed what little moisture was left in my mouth 1/10 do not go there

Booked table online day before for Sunday dinner had an email confirming table was booked arrived to be told they've cancelled our booking because they have over booked but email wasn't sent to us to let us know. Staff were extremely rude they shrugged their shoulders and said " WELL ITS TOUGH" customer service is appalling

Had the Sunday Carvery and the food was hot and fresh, they are generous with the meat and quick service. Only problem was the access for motability, my nan was unable to walk all the way round the other side of the property and the steps at the front was difficult for her.

Well won't be going here again, don't get me wrong food was great but the customer service was a joke. Waitress was rude cause I asked for a pint not a bottle and one of the kitchen staff snapped at me cause I was waiting for Yorkshire pudding haha wow 😅

Visited on Wednesday 30 March, my sister and I took my parents, it was a carvery with a choice of Turkey, beef or pork or all 3 if you so wished. Freshly served vegetables, carrots, sprouts, peas, cauliflower cheese, potatoes, roast potatoes, yorkies, pigs in blankets, stuffing and perfect crackling!! I have to say it was absolutely beautiful, everyone there serving were extremely polite, helpful and chatty. Zoe came to take your drink your orders and she was just wonderful. I would highly recommend anyone to give the Fountain a visit.

Most dissapointed went there for the first time wiil not be going back , spent 10-15 mins while staff just stood around one playing with her phone He may be a chef but needs to get lessons in carving . stuffing uncooked , sprouts like bullets , not a very good meal at all have had much better in our area .

What an amazing evening. The food was fantastic along with the presentation. The service was also really good. In fact we had an amazing Friday evening. Nothing too much trouble, the chef is very amenable to a slight change if needed. Where are you people, this should be packed to the rafters. Amazing value, excellent portions too. We order a takeaway just after 1.15pm for just under £50 (£48 something). It states on the terms and conditions that it be delivered between 11.30-3pm. Completely fair… I rang the restaurant at 2.30. Spoken to someone completely uninterested to be told the deliveries are all out and should be there by 3pm… currently 3:47pm and no sign of food. We have had no phone call, no email regarding the order and rang 3 times to no answer or call back. Don’t take on deliveries if you can’t carry out the service, luckily we were going to pay cash. To anyone reading done waste your time.

Great Sunday pulled pork takeaway

Very disappointed with the dinner I had today . Not only did it cost me £10 for one, but It was also freezing cold. I'd expect it to be warm enough to eat when I get it home not cold enough that i had to reheat it. I'm assuming it was done yesterday from the taste of it. Not impressed atall. 0*s. ( had to put 1 star to post it )

Had a Sunday carvery delivered consisting of 3 meats, boiled and roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, peas, carrots, seasonal vegetables and gravy. Was not disappointed. Was a lovely meal they we had which we both enjoyed. peas, carrots, seasonal vegetables and gravy. Both myself and partner were impressed with the quantity and freshness of the food. We enjoyed and will be ordering again in the future.

Very disappointed by the Christmas dinner missing half of the food which we paid for. It was over 3 hours late being delivered and has taken over a week to get back to me to be called a liar. Very upsetting. Don't waste your money.

Terrible service not all food was delivered for Christmas Day. The delivery was late by 3 hours due to the staff member having to go to a hospital appointment before delivering to us last. Not happy about this as my mum has been shielding due to having asthma and diabetes. Also had hair in one of the meals that was delivered. Waited over a week to be contacted back for them then to call my mother a liar. They didn’t even offer to refund everything that was missing. Don’t waste your money or time.

All the family went to the Fountain (on separate tables of course we observed social distancing) to enjoy a meal to celebrate our fathers 80th birthday. First of all we would like to thank the Fountain for accommodating all of us at such short notice our original choice of restaurant unfortunately was closed the day before we had booked our meals. This however turned out to be a blessing the food was delicious boiling hot and tasty everybody enjoyed. Theres something for everybody on the menu plus we would like to thank the staff who were so welcoming and worked tirelessly to provide everybody with a first class service. We will all definitely be returning!! We all recommend the Fountain lively food at a very reasonable price with a first class service.

Yesterday my great aunt asked me to order her a roast dinner for today. She reported that the service was prompt and that the dinner was great value for money. She said that the food was beautiful and that she especially enjoyed the roast potatoes and the gravy. The portion size was huge and she has a enough left for bubble and squeak tomorrow.

Just had the Sunday Roast Delivered.. It was beautiful, really tasty and the portion sizes are very generous. Will definitely be having again.

Visited for the Sunday carvery. Pub was well layed out with all covid measures in place. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Food was great and portion sizes are very generous so make sure your hungry. Nice selection of starters and deserts as well.

My 2nd recent visit to the Fountain, following last Sunday’s visit for Sunday lunch, which was really good.We were met politely on arrival, then briefed in the COVID-19 controls, wearing of masks whilst walking around, track and trace, hand sanitizer, table service, 1 in 1 out for toilets, required exit.The menu has loads of different options, it was difficult choosing as a lot of the options ticked the box for me...I went with glazed chicken wings to start, with hot chilli sauce, which was hot.. The portion was big, chicken nice and tender. My wife went with prawn cocktail which she enjoyed, again larger than normal starter.For the mains, my wife went with the paella, as you will see from the photo, was very well presented, a decent size portion. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it. I opted for the Welsh rib eye steak, with garlic mushroom sauce and sautéed potatoes. The steak was cooked medium and was very tasty, the sauce was creamy and enjoyable.We observed other dishes being brought out Fountain burger, which is huge, T bone steak, again huge.All in all, very good value, a great welcome, lovely service and atmosphere, would definitely recommend, thanks the Fountain, see you soon.

Took the family for a Sunday lunch (carvery) Can't do self service due to covid so table service, not any issue. Food orders all written down and then around 5mins later they returned with the food, of mine half of the thing I asked for weren't on my plate. 3 times I had to ask for what was missing. The meat I ordered, Turkey, beef and pork of which all of them were VERY DRY!!! The roast potatoes were burnt, cauliflower cheese was hard and just the whole meal bland! NOT WORTH £10 AT ALL!! (I don't complain usually about food) Didn't feel very safe in there (COVID WISE) the tables aren't 2mtrs apart and the room was very full! Wasn't any fresh air getting into the room, I small window in the corner was open a tiny bit. I will not be going back again.

The Fountain has been offering Carvery Sunday lunches to be delivered or collected and then re heated at home since the onset of Covid.Due to everything else going on we only tried this today. Absolutely lovely and plentiful, I always loved cooking a Sunday lunch when the family were here but now they have grown and other reasons are no longer here the meal delivered today was fabulous.Will be ordering again soon.

Looking for a change for Sunday lunch ordered online with no problems, communication not very good as we needed to phone a couple of times to confirm the order. When the food arrived it was excellent well cooked and plenty of it, large portions well worth the money.we had a selection of the meats beef, pork and turkey all well cooked and very tasty and plenty of it. We will definitely be ordering again.

As in lockdown we decided to order after seeing an online ad, looked forward to it as something different and only £10 per head ..... Wow what a total letdown , 2 small portions of paella delivered, 2 slices of bruschetta with a portion on tomato to cover at least one slice of it and a portion of pastas bravas which again small was the high light of a poor delivery.... the chicken and chorizo paella was honestly tasteless and bland at best and the paella rice itself was nowhere near cooked . I’ve thought long and hard before writing this but I have to be honest , wouldn’t recommend this as a meal and even if the paella was nice the overall valve of the meal is still bad , such a shame as had really high hopes

Here we are nearly 3pm on Mothers Day!! Ordered takeaway lunch for 5 & were told it would be delivered between 1 & 1.30pm. Apparently its on its way??? Have now cancelled!!

Ate here today as a family of four and it was beautiful. Good selection of meats and vegetables - all cooked just right. It was all fresh and constantly being topped up so was boiling hot. The roast potatoes were amazing! Service was quick too. A past bad review made me a little apprehensive but they must have been eating at a different place - or the type of people to find fault where there is none! Really good value and definitely be back.

Booked a table for 1.30 the the place was packed,trying to get a drink is a nightmare as theres one tiny bar open where people are ordering there drinks and paying on the way out it was crammed.We where seated in 15 mins we then went up to get our meals i asked for the beef so did my partner and mother.The beef was very tough and chewy to the point it was totally inedible and very hard to cut,the sprouts where also inedible,very under cooked.Whats a dinner with no meat we where all upset as we had full plates infront of us and it was inedible. My partner ate only his roasts and me and the morher had full plates. Called the girl over and explained we cant eat the food, she said i totally understand.Then we went up to the bar to sort the bill out and i explained to the other girl what was going on and she said i can take one meal off well no neither 3 of us ate and im not paying for meals that was not touched its ridiculous its not our fault so why should we pay anyway after standing my ground we only paid for the two childrens meals.Will NOT come here again after this it ruined what was meant to be a nice meal and we all left hungry and ended up in porthcawl having fish an chips.

Excellent food and reasonably priced for a restaurant, cooked to perfection, also the extras like mushrooms/onion rings are a very good serving for the cost (look at pics), the chips are home made/chunky and lovely to, good service and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back for more 👍

I had the very best Sunday lunch here. The staff are lovely and welcoming . All the vegetables are fresh and cooked beautifully. The choice of meat and the amount and quality is outstanding. The closest homemade Sunday lunch at a restaurant I have had!!

There was a large party of us and I have to say good was very good. Service was a bit hit and miss but food itself was very nice. We had a lovely time and everyone enjoyed. One of our party was vegetarian and his alternative never arrived- his gravy did but nothing else. He was happy just to have the vegetables so we didn't complain. Good value but place could do with a good clean!

My mother and I ate here on a Friday afternoon. We ordered one fish and chips and a gammon, egg, pineapple and chips. We also had a side order of bread and butter.The food arrived promptly and was cooked perfectly, it was piping hot. The chips were served in a separate basket to share and there were way too many for the two of us.The place itself is tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. It was cold in the room and we kept our coats on until it was time to eat.There is ample parking across the road but the cars drive past at such a speed it took ages to cross and I had to go and get the car for my mother as she would never have got to the other side quickly enough.The waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was worth the price.The bill came to £26 with two soft drinks.My only minor gripe is I never understand why a restaurant serves the meal in separate dishes. It just makes work for them and is of no benefit to the customer.
